Eternal World, A Warband Universe

In the First Year of the First Era, the kingdoms of the Eternal World were established, starting from the lands of Calradia when the humans expands and conquered the land, becoming the first empire in the world known as the Calradic Empire. 200 years later, the humans later inhabit the surrounding lands and later established the States of Barclay. As time passes, humans discovered the land of Pendor and learnt the existence of the Noldor and quickly befriending them before establishing the Jatu Empire who then enslaved the Noldor and reduced their numbers greatly. The Jatu were ruthless in their rule and were overthrown by their subjects in the 299th Year of the First Era, founding the kingdom of Pendor. In 450th Year of the First Era, Pendor was divided into smaller factions after the death of King Alexius and these factions were fighting against each other to determine who is the supreme ruler of Pendor. These factions were the kingdom of Ravenstern, the kingdom of Sarleon, the Baccus Empire, the Fierdsvain and  the D’Shar Principalities.

During the Pendorian War, a Fierdsvain noble sailed west, discovering a land rich with metal which would later become the Mettenheim Empire, a powerful civilization who are experts of metallurgy. At the same time, the Calradic Empire falls as several factions were established, fighting over the throne of Calradia. In the 640th Year of the First Era, a son of a declining noble from the distant lands of Praevor came to Pendor by the name of Crixus Rycaster. He gathered his faithful companions and served the kingdom of Ravenstern, becoming the Grandmaster of the Order of the Dragon before leaving his liege in favor of crushing the Sarleons and to unify the disputing kingdoms of Pendor under his leadership. In 650th Year, First Era, he united the land and were later known as the Unified Providence of the Five with the Noldor on his side.

The Unified Providence of the Five was a nation united under the banner of Emperor Crixus during the Pendorian War. Alongside his knights of the Order of the Black Cross and the Order of the Dragon, Crixus and his most trusted vassals united the realm by vanquishing their foes and befriending the Noldor, becoming the Providence’s allies. After many years of peace, Crixus reforms the order of knights that were under his leadership to form the Rychen (Rai-ken (‘e’ as in derp)) Order. An order whose purpose are to protect the realm from threats such as the remnants of the Jatu Empire, the wandering armies of the Snake Cult and the worshippers of the Heretic Order.

Several years later, the Noldor and the Providence worked together to further advance their technologies, introducing the use of machines to the surrounding civilizations such as the ever expanding Barclay Empire, the Mettenheim Empire and the warring kingdoms of the continent of Calradia. These advancements made the Providence as the smartest nation in the Eternal World. This brings on the invention of cannons, war machines, domestic transportations and other technological advancements.

Several decades later, Emperor Crixus died of old age and left his peaceful empire to his son, Arakith the Valiant. As the news of the previous emperor’s death spread throughout the Eternal World, the Barclay Empire and the Mettenheim Empire formed an alliance, forming the Empire of Two and attacked the vulnerable Providence. Little do they know, the Providence were well prepared for situations such as this as Crixus has been working alongside the Noldor in improving the Providence’s massive but well-trained armies to combat deadlier foes than the likes of Mettenheim and Barclay soldiers. This will always be known as the War of the Three Emperors which involves Arakith, Empress Arin of the Mettenheim and Emperor Izunya of the Barclay.

The war goes on for years, with both sides losing many men even with the advanced technologies the Providence had. The Noldor were not involved in the war under the request of Arakith himself. Until the Empire decided besiege Elacrai after tracking down a Providence noble, exposing their hidden castle. It was a enormous mistake made by the Empire however, as their thousands of men were quickly overwhelmed by the superior troops of the Noldor, not to mention with the presence of a few members of the Rychen Order.

The Empire lost many men as they brought their largest armies to partake in the Battle of Elacrai, giving the Providence the opportunity to send massive fleets comprising of Providence and Noldor troops to Mettenheim and Barclay lands to lay waste on their cities, finally showing their true potential on the battlefield. The Providence’s enemies were forced to surrender but only Empress Arin surrendered to the Providence and swore to pledge their allegiance to Arakith. Izunya however, continued the fight against the Providence.

In the 700th Year of the First Era, the Barclay Empire was defeated and remained independent. The Providence and the Mettenheim Empire suffered greatly in the war and were trying to rebuild their respective civilizations. In 720, Arakith married the Empress of Mettenheim, expanding the territory of the Providence. The empire was later known as the Hytlegaardian Empire or the Empire of Hytlegaard. However, back in Calradia, the kingdoms are still at war at each other before it was unified by a noble of the Hytlegaardian lands known as Luthor Castellan. The Calradian kings and lords were defeated, finally uniting the kingdoms under one banner, one nation. Thus, reforming the Calrad Empire.

To the far east, the Kingdom of Praevor is a fairly new civilization founded over 300 years ago which was never unheard of until they allied with Hytlegaard and the Calradic Empire in order to grow and to colonize further lands.

Troops of each faction

The Calradic Empire

The Calradic Empire's troops mainly consists of the finest men and women that originates from the lands that were once occupied by the warring kingdoms before its unification. This makes Calradic armies rather large and powerful thanks to their collection of the finest.

Swadian Knights (Cavalry)

Rhodok Sergeants (Infantry)

Nordic Huscarls (Infantry)

Vaegir Marksmen (Archers)

Sarranid Mamlukes (Cavalry)

nicolas-avon-witch-hunt.jpg

Empire of Hytlegaard

Hytlegaardian troops varies from region to region. Although Pendor Troops are essentially the main armies of the Empire, there is no doubt that some other nobles have less or even less Pendor troops in their armies because of the overall quality of the troops that originated from the regions that were once occupied by the old kingdoms.

Noldor Rangers (Archers)

Sarleon Knights (Cavalry)

Ravenstern Archers (Archers)

Fierdsvain Huscarls (Infantry)

Empire Armored Crossbowmen (Crossbowmen)

Ravenstern Knights (Cavalry)

Dragon Drakes (Infantry)

Since Mettenheim merged with the Providence through Arakith's marriage with the ruler of Mettenheim (Arin), Hytlegaard can use Mettenheim troops as well.

The Barclay Empire

Barclay is widely known to be the most powerful in terms of military might and even giving the Providence a hard time during the War of the Three Emperors. Thanks to their heavily armored troops, they can become a formidable force. They are also known to conquer countless factions to grow.

 Barclay Troop Tree

The Kingdom of Praevor

Not much is known about this growing kingdom, other than it is a mixture of different cultures located in its lands. Uniquely, Praevor is ruled by 3 different individuals and each representing their own culture, a council. Thus, their main troops consists of honorable and skilled men hailed from different parts of Praevor, a true symbol of unity.

Hiwakura Troops are the 'Japanese'-side of the Council of Three, possessing honorable men and women who'd dedicate their lives for the survival of their clans. Masters of the sword and bow, they are also fast and agile in combat.

The Vikings are believed to be the descendants of Nordic clans who migrated from Calradia and settled in the lands. Strong and unwavering, they were the masters of heavy weaponry and their passion for combat makes them strong as they'll fight until their death arrives.

Crownguards are the 'English'-side of the council, mirroring the knights of the empires of the east, they excel in horseback combat, providing shock attacks in battle.

Disclaimer: This RP is centered around a video game known as Mount & Blade: Warband. The lands of Pendor, Mettenheim, Barclay (Prophesy of Pendor mod) and Calradia (Vanilla Warband) are not mine, credits to the developers. However, I've implemented these mods into a single world and a few backstory changes have to be made for the RP's sake. And of course, this is purely fictional.

You'll be playing as individual of either of these factions, from an advisor to the kings of the Eternal World, a travelling merchant, an impoverished noble or a bodyguard to a noble or his/her daughter. Everything you do affects the game, and this is obviously, a player-driven story. You can persuade your lord to wage a war if you're an advisor and many other things.

Please, I hope you have an interest in this.

FURTHER NOTE: Cultures and religions are on the way. I just wanted to share this with you guys. :)

Too long didn't read?: Well this is an RP based of a video game alongside one of its famous mods, Prophesy of Pendor. A lot of things has been changed for the RP to give my own spin of the Calradic lands and the lands of Pendor itself. You'll play as almost anyone in the RP, every character you make have an impact on the world's characters and ultimately, the world itself depending on what your profession is.

Just a heads up, the story will most take place in Pendor and Calradia. And any similar locations will be renamed.

Updates!

MAGIC IS NOT CALLED MAGIC

  • Faith is the ability of some lifeforms to create energy fields and the ability to access limjted telekinatic abilities thanks to the spiritual life-force of the same name that runs through every living body. The Noldor are naturally able to use Faith but the humans are not since in order to access their inner abilities, they must either have to meditate for long periods of time or to be exposed to a religious relic for Faith to work on humans.
  • The telekinetic powers are only limited to push, lift (by manipulating gravity underneath the enemy), stasis (by temporarily paralyzing an enemy) and control objects at will (stronger Faith-users can even control and lift large objects)
  • Energy-field related abilities are; burst (by compressing a large amount of energy before releasing, pushing surrounding enemies away and harmless to the user), shield (conjuring a small energy shield to protect from damage), barrier (surrounds the user with a Faith shield to absorb damage in a short period of time, a more mobile option than shield) and enhance (surrounds a weapon with Faith energy to deal more damage).

FACTION WITHIN FACTION? FACTION-CEPTION!

  • Yes there will be factions within factions. But more like, smaller organizations within a faction. Think of a guild, like the Companions of the game Skyrim. I believe in this way, your characters can be a part of something rather than just a random merchant who happens to be good at selling. Such factions will revolve around alchemy, herbalogy, archaeology (essentially the nerd's club), combat and yeah, travelling.
  • There will be also knighthood orders in major factions for all you knight-lovers. They are abundant in Calradia and Pendor, rare in Mettenheim and Barclay, rather common in Praevor. Some of these knighthood orders are religious, their service to their lords or simply powerlust take the Prophesy of Pendor's Knights of Eventide for example.

That's all for today! Hope you guys enjoy!

Updates!

  • RP will take place in the 820th Year of the First Era.
  • The knighthood orders that existed during this time are listed below:
  1. The Rychen Order which is an order of knights that are able to use Faith in combat and are located in the cities of Avendor, Ethos and Janos. They are the sworn protectors of the lands and will fight against any threats from the vile Heretic Order or the Snake Cut. Although they are called as knights, they exceptionally skilled in close combat, especially in sword fight. The Rychen Order was comprised of two different orders, namely the Order of the Black Cross and the Order of the Dragon who were both under Emperor Crixus' command during the final days of the Pendorian War. Members wore the uniquely designed Ryka'an Armor to be distinguished from other orders and are colored black.
  2. Order of the Clarion Call is a force of highly mobile knights that specializes in horse archery. Their horses' speed can be compared to the Jatu Tribes and the Noldor's own horses but are decently armored. They are located in Laria. Some even said that the knights of this particular order are trained by the illusive Noldor.
  3. Order of the Radiant Cross is initially an order of doctors, militarized in order to defend their physicians from bandits and rogue knight parties. Located in Ethos, the knights of this order are very skilled in the medical field so much so that they established the now renowned Radiant academy in their hometown. They are completely devoted to their order, this can be seen during battles as they fight for the cause of their order's establishment.
  4. Order of the Empire was re-established after the end of the Calradic Civil War. It was an order of law-enforcing knights and it was the second order to use the energy of the Faith in their knighthood duties. They were located in Praven and currently under the leadership of the king itself, King Hendrick the Valiant. Their Imperial Armor/Ostareon Armor was uniquely designed to distinguish themselves fro other existing knighthood orders. They specialized in the use of longswords and lances, enhanced by the use of the Faith energy.
  5. The Barclay Inquisition is considered to be the manifestation of the Barclay Empire's strength and power. They wore the Armor of Judgment which the designs are influence by the legends of dragons back in the ancient days. The Inquisition stands for the Empire's might and can be usually seen acting as the Emperor's guard. During this time, the knighthood order became the main fighting force in Barclay armies. They were also become known by their ruthless acts in executing a punishment towards a criminal as they believe the law is everything that makes a nation strong. Thus. they believe those who broke are the ones who has the potential to weaken their Empire.
  6. Knights of the Broken Blade are a knighthood order established in Sargoth and right after the Calradic Civil War ended. They are almost the same as the Inquisition, both believe that the strong are the ones worthy to live in the world but unlike the Inquisition, they are revered by the citizens of Sargoth and the surrounding villages for their sense of nobility and their belief that all humans are equal. Thus, they should be treated as equal. This sense of morality was instilled by their lord Kassius who is also noble in nature and treats everyone as equal. They wore the Armor of Reverance.
  7. Hiwakura Imperial Guards are the the elite samurais who are the bodyguards of the current Daimyo. Perhaps the most honorable knighthood order in all of the Eternal World, Imperial Guards values honor above all and believed that their duty is to protect their Daimyo. Should their leader fall, they'd consider it as a failure and a disgrace, committing sepukku in the process. They wore the Akuma Armor (Akumo no Yoroi) as a way to intimidate foes with their markings on its armor.

Update 3!

YOUR KINGS AND QUEENS! AND FEW PRINCES AND PRINCESSES, AND NOBLES

mads_by_ladynlmda-d958o2w.jpg

King Hendrick the Valiant

He is the monarch of the Calradic Empire and the grandmaster of the Knights of the Empire. He has been known to be one of the greatest strategist the world has ever known, exploiting enemy weaknesses, setting up elaborate plans for his enemies to fall into and because of this, he rather make the enemy surrender not through countless battles but disrupting the economical and political flow of his foes either through sabotaging, assassination and much more to instill fear and chaos in their enemies' ranks. His analytical and strategic mind has also been put into good use in managing Calradia and the nation itself is advancing day by day with the alliance forged with the Hytlegaardians.

Emperor Rodrick of the Barclay

He is considered to be the Empire's manifestation of strength and power for he crushes his foes with ease even with a small number. Their brute strength can be matched by the likes of the Nordic Huscarls and the Vikings of Praevor. Rodrick believed he had to finish what his ancestor, Izunya has started, to bring the Hytlegaardian Empire on their knees, submitting to Barclay rule. Revered by the Barclays, feared by the Mettenheims, Rodrick's skills on the battlefield is proven time and time again as the two empires clashed once and entered into a stalemate in the Battle of the Larian Woods.

russell_crowe_as_robin_hood_by_bnolin-d30yvb6.jpg

Emperor Nathaniel II

The ruler of the Hytlegaardian Empire, Nathaniel is the noble emperor who rules with just. He defends his empire with everything he got and will do anything it takes to keep it intact. Emperor Rodrick had kidnapped his daughter, Luna during a feast which ended in the alliance between the two empires broken. Nathaniel was enraged with this and swore that he'll get Luna back no matter what the cost. This shows his determination to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal and ultimately, inspires his whole empire to do so to which some citizens of other facts remarked, "Their determination intimidates us, it made them unstoppable and powerful,"

sister_of_the_night_by_selenada-d6ubjwd.jpg

Princess Luna Eris

The only daughter and successor to the Hytlegaardian throne, Luna Eris is revered throughout the Hytlegaardian lands as the most beautiful lady. Having many suitors but rejected all of them, Luna have no intentions in finding love but she believes that it will come soon enough to her. To complement her beauty, her skills as a swordswoman was hones during her childhood as her father expected her to be ready whenever a war broke out. Being the only child in the family, she was closely guarded at all times. She can be rebellious at times but later soon changed when she met Lord Eredin's son, Eron Angelus and became close friends ever since.

Lord Eron Angelus

Eron Angelus is a lone wolf who prefers to travel alone or with a small band of loyal knights. He is the bastard child of Lord Eredin and no one knows who is his mother. Eredin never despises his child but rather treated him as a true noble blood. He sent Eron to Ethos to train with both the Rychen Order and the members of the Radiant Cross. His skills later honed further by his father before he went towards the Mystmountain areas himself to train himself to survive. Eron then met Luna of the royal imperial family during a feast (years prior to her kidnapping) alongside other nobles as well.

witcher%20emhyr%20var%20emreis.jpg

Lord Ezra Valheim

Brother to Rodrick, he is also a claimant to the Barclay throne and while the empire itself is at war with the Hytlegaardians, Lord Valheim attempts to start another war within the empire itself to take the throne and his rule. They share similar traits however, both are strong in nature, both stood for their own ideals and both are leaders of massive armies. He resides far in the north, gathering support for himself before starting a civil war.

Claudius_Glaber.jpg

General Severus Triarius

Commander of the famed First Legion of the Barclay Inquisition, Commander Severus is credited for his efforts in the Battle of the Monster Sea for crushing an entire armada of Vanskerry Raiders. Severus is also known to be a sadistic and torturing man, and often known to be a ladies man, sleeping with women during a feast. His torturous acts has made the citizens of Barclay to fear him.

I say once again, you can play as a noble fighting for a faction. But you can also play as a commoner or just as a mercenary leader. It is highly acceptable to do so.

To play as a lord and wanted to challenge the rule of any of the empires. You need to gather support from the citizens to establish a strong and supportive nation. This depends on what your character do and the decisions your characters make. This is a medieval world and will focused mainly on the politics to manage the faction. Every decision matters whether your liege's empire stays strong or simply collapse from within.

Character Relationships

Since this is based on a game that had relationship points, everything your character do will have effect on NPCs whether they like you or hate you. Even your backstory can effect the NPCs' point of view. Any actions taken will either strengthen your relationship or further destroying it. For example, some character have a ruthless personality and they will like you if you choose to take no prisoners and slaughter them all. The citizens of your liege's faction will surely react on that, spreading rumors about you.

Personalities of the Nobles

As stated previously, your actions affects everything. Depending on the noble's personality, he/she will either despise you even more or strengthen your relationship with them. Since I could not replicate the game entirely into RP form, your relationship will either increase or decrease through your interactions together. Choosing your words carefully is essential as your character might not know what kind of personality the noble you're speaking to has.

Gathering support and challenging a faction's rule.

Answer to @Huey

It is possible to challenge a faction's rule but it is very hard to do so. Most factions of that time are based on loyalty and honor, thus having most of their lords stays loyal to their liege. But it is still possible.

Gathering support from the locals by either spreading the word through mouth (sending out companions < they'll be introduced soon) or by simply interacting with the locals. Still, choose your words carefully if you choose to interact with them.

Once your character have enough support (you can check through the weekly updates if this RP finally comes up), your army will soon increase in number for your supporters have joined your cause.

Having a massive army isn't enough however, you need the support of a few lords to do so. If you do, you can finally challenge the king.

However! Challenging the liege will lead to a war, which will have a massive impact on the storyline.

TECHNOLOGY!

  • Set in a medieval time, typical weapons such as the sword do exist. But thanks to the advancements in time, gunpowder do existed but it is not popular yet.
  • The use of gunpowder can only be seen in the usage of muskets and small pistols.
  • Thanks to its slightly advanced technology, alchemy is now accessible in creating powerful bombs and weapons used in war.
  • Use these to your advantage during wartime.

That's all for today! I'm calling out to:

@NekoNyann @Princess Ami @King of Strong Style @JujuBee @Nicademus @NeoZheVolf @Jimlock

Yay! Thanks for accepting the invite! :) Really appreciate it!

If you have any questions, just ask me! :)

Question, can I have like a noble in game, who instead of trying to claim land(at first.....) attempts to instead establish a new Knight Order?

@Galahad

I'm still thinking of actually letting players doing that.

But, yeah. You can but you need a town or castle to do so.

I planned on him being like from a old bloodline that was mostly dead and gone, but still known and respected to some degree, so he had the ancestral keep which was mostly empty, and just repurposed it.

Ah yes you can do this. But make sure your order has a purpose to be established and to compete with other orders.
