Yes you may if he says yes to it I'm planing on them being a mostly gunpowder riflemen group focioused on hit and run raids or targeted killings.

Nope I was thinking more of Morgan's Rifle corps or any countries Dragoon units durring that time.

True but the majority of people cant do that and if someone does do that they just book it while setting traps

Gunpowders aren't very popular. And it's very rare. To see a band fully comprised of gunmen is a unique sight in the world. Still you will cause massive trouble amongst the enemy.
