Scouts are only effective if they report back also its hard to notice a 90-180 man group who's goal it is not to be seen and also had the advantage of being in the area longer so they know the terrain... Besides what Supply column has a scouting unit
Never thought someone would use Mount and Blade for rp...
Only if it is executed well.
I am interested in joining this if I still can.
I would think most would if they are in hostile territory.
Man I need you in my faction XD. Better look out for any factions who's looking to hire you. Strategies are essential in wartime.
I work best on open battles. Famous Faith Users are up on the forums!
A supply column would only be behind friendly lines and to have scouts would be resident and expensive unless you knew something was going to happen to the unit.
Lol I would slow down/stop a force like that easy, aim for the supply trains and focus on killing the horses so the wagons cant move, assault the night watch consistently so they have to set up more sentries and that takes time, out of the daily march. Burn supplies durring the night or incomeing ones so the army starves or has to forage once again slowing down, pick off officers during the march sowing dispare into the officer ranks makeing them make stupid moves. Kill any guides/scouts makeing them lost if its a forest, confused, and blind, also enlist help of the main hireing army and get them to stay close enough to attack but far enough for the army your harassing not to assault them, it puts the men on edge, and so much more can be done.
And you've officially become the RP's own Grand Admiral Thrawn (he's a great strategist in the Star Wars Legends universe)
This would be effective only if you have those units within your command. The cost is on both sides, and I assure you, from a US Military standpoint, scouts are ALWAYS employed. Security forces are always with a supply train as well.
Otherwise, good aim for a tactic.
But oh well, we'll see how much of your force would stand up against a contingent of medieval Jedis XD
