Alphaius

sorry guys...Pokemon Go...

The year is 2016 and contrary to popular belief magic does exist.

In the dark ages there was a vast change to the magical world. A powerful spell was cast on the whole planet that prevented any wizard from learning more than one domain of magic.

The magic counsel was created to govern these, all old magic books were divided and split into singular domains.

And certain domains were sealed away due to the level of danger they presented.

The world of wizardry progressed, and many wizards rose up around the planet...

Now these wizards have formulated powerful alliances and the two biggest,The Urban Warlocks and The Magic Cousil itself, have become locked in a fierce battle for superiority.

The Urban Warlocks believe in free magic for all, and The Magic Council believes that magic is a dangerous force that must be closely monitored and only gifted to those who possess the talent.

The rest of the alliances are stuck choosing a side lest they be caught between these two groups that each have thousands of wizards at their disposal.

What side are you on?

Bobby sat in his car outside the news station listening to the radio.

"Man the council is gonna be pissed."

He says nonchalantly as he cuts the engine and walks into the station.

The people in the lobby don't even have a chance to realize he is there before he propelled himself to the elevator shaft and then propelled the elevator itself to the seventh floor...where the live new was being broadcasted.

Bobby wasted no time he dashed into the camera view and pushed the two anchors aside.

"People of the world,I have an announcement to make...

My name is Bobby Boushae, you have no idea who I am and I don't know you, but I'm here to tell you your freedom is at stake...Magic Is Real, and if you already know about that side of the world then you likely know what I'm talking about. If you don't, but you want to, then look for me. You'll find me I promise...The Urban Warlocks will show you a world you never knew existed."

As he finishes his line he propells himself out the window behind him and disappears into the horizon...

"...Let's arrange a meeting" Lucy calmly told her secretary "go get the other members of the magic council and we shall discuss our next course of action" she continued before sweeping out towards the meeting room, if she was annoyed, she refused to show it and concealed it well. She sat down near the end of the table and awaited the other members to join her. In the meantime the took out her phone and continued watching the news to check what the press might say about magic

Gautama was walking down the street when the news suddenly cut to a strange man by the name of Bobby. This Bobby was talking about how magic was real and that his freedom was at stake. " Gautama had left to get some groceries for the local temple, but this was too important not to make note of. What was this man doing? Suddenly revealing such a thing to the world?

Looking around Gautama could already see confused people thinking it was all just a prank. Others who he could tell were magicians became very nervous. Either way he needed to get home and prepare dinner for the local orphans and the other monks.

The news had been playing on the television in the employee kitchen when Colette heard Bobby. Before he had begun to speak she knew what he was going to say. It was only a matter of time after all; they wouldn’t have been able to stay hidden forever. She’d stood rooted in place as he spoke, her blood pounding in her ears. Her hands shook and she gripped her cup of tea harder, swallowing the lump in her throat and taking a deep breath, attempting to calm her rapidly beating heart. She stood stock still for another minute or so after he disappeared from the television screen, possible scenarios playing over in her mind.

“This isn’t going to end well,” she murmured to herself, turning on her heel and heading back to her office. Colette had work to finish up, and once she was done, she intended to go home as fast as possible. She didn’t want to deal with any fallout the announcement had caused.

On the news, a strange fellow announced to the world that magic was real, not that Samuel cared. In fact, he was somewhat optimistic. This could open new opportunities for learning!

Samuel Carolingian has had some troubles with the Council in the past, but the charges were relatively minor, and Sam has some respect for the Council and their work. Sending pure energy into corpses to see what happens is a bit questionable. Still, he couldn't help but wonder what these "Urban Warlocks" plan on doing.

Samuel grabs his revolver, given to him as inheritance from his father, and gets ready for the day.

These are dangerous times, if not for the turmoil that will arise from such an announcement, then for terrorists, thieves, and the like. Better safe than sorry.

Kira Colemen was sitting in the tiny coffee shop she worked in, watching the news while absently stirring her cup of green tea. She moved to take a deep drink when she saw it. A guy by the name of Bobby was announcing to the world that magic was real and to come find him.

She nearly drowned in green tea.

After she coughed up her drink, she began to laugh, a deep laugh that had her wiping tears out her eyes. She could almost see the council members squirming and it was hilarious. Her next thought was, this is when it gets interesting., and that she probably looked nuts sitting in a nearly empty coffee shop, laughing by herself.

Gautama continued down the streets for a while taking his usual route back to his home/temple. His life had been very peaceful after he had registered with the magic council. His domain was apparently a very powerful one so people usually kept their distance so as not to fall under his spell.

Gautama wondered how the council would react to that statement. He could practically sense a war coming between the two factions. Where there was conflict there would also be suffering. Gautama didn't intend to throw himself into the war, but he was more than willing to defend himself. Once he was back at this temple he put away the groceries and began preparing a large meal for himself and the fellow monks. He would also make another meal meant for those less fortunate and share it with them.

In one of the tallest building down in the middle of the city, in the conference room at the very top, in a rather uncomfortable chair, sat a silver haired girl dressed nicely for the meeting that was about to take place. Her greenish-teal eyes looked at everyone in the room. Her father, a broad man dress in a black suit with a red tie, a professional aura about him, and his hair nicely styled, sat at the head of the polished mahogany table; Faye sitting just to the left of him. Across from her was his assistant, Ms. Margret Laney. A middle aged woman who if was let go, the whole office would probably fall apart. Then a few seats down were who they were meeting with. Some japanese business partners, who were all dressed in midnight blue suits.

Clearing his throat, her father stood. "It's nice to see you gentlemen again. I hope this deal goes off with out a hitch." The other men nodded in agreement. With that the meeting began. What was this meeting about? Expansion of the Japanese branch to three cities. Everytime the foreign business men spoke, Faye translated for her father and Ms. Laney. She didn't know why they just didn't learn to speak the languages of business partners, but this was an excuse for her to listen in on Council business. Her father, and incredible fire mage, and her mother, a light mage, we're both on the he side of the Council. They also believed her to be a waking air mage who could barely do anything magic wise.

Faye didn't mind that of course, because she knew better. The meeting came to an end with a comprise of two cities and an expansion of one of the current buildings. Faye stood, and politely bowed before excusing herself from the room, her heals clicking as she walked down the hall. She fixed her suit jacket, gloves, blouse, and skirt as she walked, before heading to the lobby.

Colette sighed for what seemed like the thousandth time today. Her client meeting had run long, and she was behind for the day as a result. Glancing at the clock, she sighed again, typing out what she hoped was her last email for the day. Her intent had been to duck out a little bit early and avoid the huge throngs of people during rush hour, but it seemed like today wasn’t her lucky day. Hitting send, she stood and quickly packed up her things, hoping to sneak out before anyone realized she was still here, and asked her to do something. She had a problem with saying no to her coworkers sometimes, and she was pretty sure a couple of them knew it. All she wanted to do right now was to go home.

Within minutes Colette was walking out the front entrance of her office building, her large purse clutched tight against her. She set a brisk pace, effortlessly ducking around people in front of her, her heels clicking against the sidewalk and her skirt flipping up around her knees. At the rate she was walking it didn’t take her long to reach her bus stop. It sat in front of a local temple, and as she came to a halt, she took in a huge breath and smiled. It always smelled wonderful this time of day, the scent of delicious food wafting through the air.

“I wonder who does the cooking there…” she mumbled to herself, her voice trailing off as she stared at the building.

Her stomach growled audibly and she blushed slightly, turning her back to the temple and facing the street to wait for her bus. She hoped it wasn’t late again today, she was starving.

It was around that time Gautama had finished crafting the meal for both his fellow monks and the less fortunate. He called out in Japanese that the food was ready and a few younger monks walked in and bowed to him before take the meal and dispersing it to the monks.

Gautama, as the head monk or Abbott of the temple, made it a point to go out with the children to feed those who were hungry. The temple was a haven for all those who saught refuge from animals to humans. As such there was an unfortunate amount of orphans that Gautama and the other monks have taken under their wing just as was done for him when he was their age.

Opening the doors of the temple 5 orphaned children dressed in light grey robes all walked out with Gautama, who was in a full orange robe one would normally see a Buddhist monk wearing, and began walking around asking people of they wanted food. One of the children heard Colette's growling stomach and tugged on her clothing asking her if she wanted food. The food was a dumpling filled with beef. Delicious and portable

"Pfft, Boss can you believe that guy?!" Johnny said from the bakery counters, laughing at the supposed stupidity of Bobby Baushae. Who recently went on air with the idea that Wizards and Mages are real, and with them, magic. Well, that gave her another reasons to dislike the Warlocks.

'Poor Johnny, has no idea.' She thought to herself, nose scrunched up, but nevertheless, she continued to place the pastries in the glass case.

"I mean, magic can't be real right!" He said to no one, and Eliza decided to humour him.

"You know, it's probably a prank..." She looked at Johnny from the counter. He then nodded. "Yeah!"

Eliza then finished placing the assorted treats inside the display shelf and stood up from her crouching position.

She then proceeded to pick up a tray with a chocolate cake slice and a red velvet cupcake and headed off to table four.

"Here's your order!" She said smiling and placing it down.

Colette jumped when she felt the tug at her clothing, a little on edge after watching Bobby’s announcement earlier that day. She’d overheard people talking about it at the bus stop and it was making her anxious. Her powers were a closely guarded secret, and now that everyone knew about magic, she was terrified someone would make her for a wizard.

Looking down she was met with the smiling face of a child holding up a delicious smelling dumpling, asking her if she wanted food. Her own face broke out into a huge grin and she giggled, her eyes lighting up as she clasped her hands to her chest.

“Yes, I’d love some! It looks amazing! Thank you so much sweetheart, I appreciate it.”

Crouching down at eye level with the young child, she smiled warmly and gestured to the dumpling.

“It’s a little big though. Do you think you could split it with me?”

@SleepyBuddha

The child's face beamed in happiness and carefully split the dumpling in two giving her half. The child bowed to her and returned to Gautama as that was the last dumpling the boy had. On the way back to Gautama the boy offered the half a dumpling to another child at the bus stop. Gautama smiled and approached Gautama, " Please forgive him if he doesn't eat with you. He has dinner waiting on him at the temple." Gautama said with a smile, " I hope I'm not being a bother but I was wondering if you could make a small donation to the temple?"

With the sharing of food complete the children returned to the temple leaving Gautama to ask people for donations for general upkeep on the temple. There weren't really bills for the temple as it was a tax exemption and staying true to the old ways it didn't even have electricity.

@heartshapedsprinkles

Colette smiled as the boy took off, breathing in the scent of the bun in her hands. Taking a bite, her eyes fluttered to a close and she sighed in pleasure. The bun was one of the better things to happen to her today, that's for sure. Savoring it for a moment, her eyes opened once more as the monk in the orange robes started talking to her. She swallowed and smiled as he spoke, nodding.

"Oh, I don't mind at all. And of course! I'd be happy to make a donation. Do you accept checks?" Colette asked as she fished into her purse and pulled out her wallet. Looking into her bag, she frowned slightly.

"Oh, darn it. I left my pen at work. Do you have one inside that I could borrow?"

Gautama smiled, " Yes I do. Please come in. While your here I invite you to have dinner with us. The children would enjoy it I'm sure." Gautama said before going back to the Japanese style temple and opening the door for her. Inside were several younger monks practicing Martial Zen or Kung Fu in a very large court yard as a way of freeing their mind of unnecessary thought. The temple itself made it seem as if one had just stepped into a little piece of Japan. There were sakura trees in the courtyard as well as pools of water surrounding an elevated platform were the younger monks were practicing under an awning that had 'A disciplined body is a disciplined mind.' In Japanese.

@heartshapedsprinkles

Colette blinked, then smiled, nodding her head. "If you're sure it's not too much of an inconvenience, I would love to join you all for dinner. If that dumpling is any indication, I'm sure it'll be delicious."

Colette pulled her purse back over her shoulder and followed the monk inside, smiling at him as he opened the door for her. Her eyes widened as she stepped in, taking in the beauty of the temple. Her eyes wandered over the courtyard, the cherry blossom trees and pools of water catching her attention immediately. "It's beautiful," she whispered to herself, before following the monk inside.

"My name is Colette by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you. And thank you for inviting me to dinner. It's nice to get in and away from all of the noise outside."

Samuel observed those around him very closely.

Many had an uncomfortable aura about them. If that wasn't a dead giveaway of their nature, the energies they give off certainly were.

Samuel sees magic users all around him, but he wondered if they knew they were among mages, or not. Samuel assumed his domain, energy, made detecting such energies come as second nature, but he was truly curious if other magic users were this way, as well.

Samuel decided that today would be the day he got a real job. While he has enough inheritance money to barely live off of, it would be nice to buy nice things and maybe give back to society.

There was an incredibly tall building in town. Samuel never liked the idea of office work much, but he didn't really do anything of substance, anyway. He didn't have enough money to do anything interesting, so better to do this than nothing.

Sam had no real work experience, other than working at a local store as a teen for a couple of months, and his college education is fairly limited; this could very well be out of his league. Well, every company needs janitors, if it must come to that.

He goes into the office, asks a rather rude secretary for an application form, and takes a seat to fill it out, not noting that it's probably a bit late in the day for this.

"Yes yes John I can do a show tonight" Autar Ratliff said into the phone in a rather monotone manner. Autar was sat in his chair, slouched back into it. "Yes the normal fee will apply". "Yes John Its fine yes yes goodbye" he put down the phone, exasperated. This was meant to be his day off, his day to go over his plans and the like. "Suppose one shouldn't be to angry about getting paid" he muttered. The self styled gentlemen of magic decide to go get something to drink. "I can't really sit in here all day, a coffee will do" h Making sure he had everything, cane, wallet, keys and magical projector. You know everyday things. Leaving his rather high class apartment building, Autar began walking to the coffee shop.

Bobby comes to a stop at the Urban warlocks base in the abandoned subway terminal.

The place had been cleaned up, and had lights and runing water. But it still needed some furniture.

Bobby went to the train car that sat on the tracks, opened the doors and sat in the padded bench.

"Now we play the waiting game."

He says as he pulls a few coins out of his pocket, and begins flicking them out the door and down the tunnel, causing them to imbed into the wall about six feet deep into the ground beyond.

"Geez this is gonna be boring."

He says weakly

Autar was walking about the city, coffee in hand. "Wandering aimlessly really is the best kind of wandering, especially when you come across abandoned subway terminals" He mussed. The reason this interested Autar was two fold. Firstly it would be a good place to test his magic, his true magic. Two that secret organisation those Urban warlocks. Naive fools. Freedom for magic with no idea how to do it, or what to do with it. They could be fun to play with.

He went inside. It might seem a bit strange for such a well dressed man with a can , to go into an abandoned subway terminal. As Autar went inside he said in a rather whimsical way, "Well these abandoned places have been getting more and more well less abandoned it seemed". It was rather surprising to see a place like this with lights and running water.

@Alphaius

"Yeah...places don't stay abandoned for long anymore."

Bobby says from inside the train car.

"As it stands I'm the only one here for now. Can I help you?" He asks sitting up and standing in the doorway of the traincar

"Well maybe you can maybe you can't" he said not making eye contact with the man who just came out of the train-car. "Do you know of Domain,Urban, council and what binds them all" he asked in a very theatrical way. He held onto his cane as he walked. Appearing to be weaker then you are, a great trick.

Somewhere in Egypt...

9:46am.

The desert sands are still and quiet, normally small animals can be seen scurrying about. Not now,the wind itself seems to avoids he small patch of sand.

All of the sudden this changes. The sky darkens and the winds swirl around the a black stone that sits in the sands.

The stone is uncovered and it revealed to be the top of a large sarcophagus.

The black sarcophagus has no markings and no seams. But an eerie groan can be heard emanating from it.

Green lightening begins crackling around the large black stone...

In a bright flash of green lightening the sarcophagus explodes.

The thing standing there in its place is clearly not human. It may have been at one time but it's grey decaying flesh, and empty eye sockets tell a different story.

The undead monster slams its staff on the ground and his hand begins to be orbited by green rings. Until a portal opens in front of his hand and out of it flys hundreds of small black wraithlike spirits.

"Find them..." It rasps.

"All who have magic, Mark them, and kill those whom you can."

He begins laughing like an insane demon.

"Soon the age of The Tetran shall begin."
