Nikhil smiled to Millie, glad that she was okay. He walked along with her, not minding the girl's gentle pulling. He'd rather that than have her be out of reach. His eyes focused on the surrounding area instead of the path ahead, watching the stone-men in case any of them attacked. As the stonemen seemed to be unable to actually reach them anymore, he turned his attention to the crater.

"It's gotta be. I don't like the looks of it though." He answered Millie, still focused on the meteor. It was glowing, and the brighter it got, the more worried he became. There was also the factor of the feeling in the air. Ominous, dark. Not exactly the most pleasant feeling in the universe. He scanned the crater, looking at their options on what to do next. He didn't want to take Skylar, Millie, or Dresden any closer to the odd rock than they had to be. He wouldn't be able to handle it i something happened to the kids especially. The tail from his partial transformation flicked behind him as he thought.

He glanced to Ira, considering the possibility of one of the two of them going down to check it out. That was a plausible option, most likely not the most safe idea on the planet though. "We may was well wait for a few minutes, just to be safe. Watch the rock and see if anything happens. That glow isn't normal, and the fact that it keeps getting brighter has to mean something. If nothing major changes soon, either Ira or I could try approaching it first with you three keeping an eye out for danger." He finally spoke up, voicing his thoughts.

Millie Thorrin
Since no one in the group seemed to have any better advice to offer, giving it a few minutes to see if anything about the strange glow in front of them changed was exactly what they did. While they waited, everyone in the group would definitely hear that the rock-covered humans were still as close to them as they seemed capable of being. None of them were within range to be an immediate threat and something seemed to hold them back, but it was fairly clear that they would have to go back through them before their mission would be considered complete.

As their eyes studied it, the meteor’s glow would ebb and brighten in an odd and not quite predictable pattern. As the light grew stronger, there were growls and hisses coming from the stone men around them and as it darkened, those sounds faded although their presence remained all the same.

Millie’s hand remained in Nikhil’s the whole time, too.

Finally, though, the youngest Raven Tail mage was fairly sure they’d endured enough of nothing. “Well?” she asked. “We can’t stand here forever, right?” She glanced hesitantly towards Nikhil and Ira since they seemed to be the two who were going to decide what would happen next.

“WELL, RIGHT. CAN’T STAND HERE FOREVER, RIGHT.” A sudden loud voice echoed around them, seeming to fill the aura in the air and swell with growing intensity. “YOU BRING MAGIC. HOW DELIGHTFUL.”

Millie jumped back at the sudden sound which had no obvious source aside from the meteor itself… something which was surprisingly frightening.

That wasn’t the end of the oddity, though. Millie’s wings - the purest white imaginable - slowly began to sink as though she was losing control of them… as though her control of them was being sucked away. And Millie wouldn’t be the only one with the feeling, either. Nikhil would feel it too… as though the magic he possessed was being drained from his tail.

Skylar Livre
Like the other mages, Skylar watched the meteorite and waited. The strange, fluctuating glow from the space rock made her tense as she anticipated that something would happen soon. If there was some rhyme or reason to the colors, she couldn't figure it out. All she knew for sure was that the stone people seemed stuck behind an invisible wall. For the moment it looked like they wouldn't be able to reach them, but their presence still made her nervous. The shy Fairy Tail wizard inched closer to Tin Man and Mother Nature as she heard the growls from the stone people.

Skylar felt Mother Nature maternally put one of her hands around her shoulder. She looked up at the tree woman and smiled, for a moment it looked like everything was going to be fine. Only a moment though.

The strange voice that seemed to come from the meteorite startled her. Ever since she started this mission she had no idea what exactly they were dealing with; was it some kind of strange magical being or artifact from space?

"W...who's there?! Show yourself!" Skylar called out. "W...what are you doing to my f...friends?"
