Keeping his stance open, Bang watched as Haruna corrected her positioning in the air. This was something that Bang wanted to see. She even went for a further attack. Now, a small bit of rock had hit Bang while he was upside down; that was enough for Haruna to stop fighting, but she was already neck-deep. Might as well finish it out strong. Whereas Haruna could have stopped her offensive due to the amount of damage that Bang had inflicted, she still kept coming. It was commendable for a fight that served as an entry point for the first day at school.
Haruna rocketed down toward Bang, her leg slamming into his chest. The impact caused a small amount of bruising and even momentarily stunned the master. However, allowing the kick to hit was essential to Haruna’s smooth landing. Bang didn’t fall to the ground due to the impact, though he did slide back a few inches. He allowed Haruna to land before bowing slightly.
“That’ll be all, Haruna. You can go back to your spot.”
Bang searched his cheat sheet for the name of the next student to be tested. This time, it was Kath. He was quite late on answering Calypso’s questions, but Bang was a looney toon. Even minutes later, after a small portion of fighting, Bang remembered that he was going to answer the question… Before he forgot.
“Miss Calypso, if you would please stick around until the end of the testing period, as I am unsure what other victims of havoc and bloodshed will be added to the list.” Obviously, he teased. But unfortunately, it was also true. There would, without a doubt be more students that would end up needing the nurse’s assistance but Bang was unsure of what their condition would be.
Because he’s not a fucking mind reader.
“Katharine, you are up next. I trust you’ve concocted an approach based on watching how both of your cousins performed?” Anyone who had yet to fight should have at least been taking mental notes. There was a common theme among each of the participants; be it his laziness, being caught off guard or stubborn, each student had managed at least one hit on Bang in any given capacity. Some of it was by trickery, others used power.
The old man stretched a bit, waiting for Kath to take her position before him. He knew of the teen’s quirk and how potentially dangerous it could have been, but it would have only been a matter of time before Bang would end up finding out just how serious it was for himself. That was the point of the tests, after all.
These kids had it easy. Bang understood that it was equally as taxing to maintain an understanding of why heroes were necessary in a world where villains could strike at any moment. Just because they had sporadic timing and horrible coordination did not mean they were not capable of smartening up. Hell, a small legion had already begun to grow in numbers on the darker side of the world with Quirks. Bang recalled of the time a few months back where he had been called to duty in Southern Tokyo. It was the last time Bang was involved in an actual altercation that required his level of skill.
There was a long road ahead of these students. Even Bang knew that there was a thing or two he could learn from them - much like he had classes in the past. Even at his old age, there was always room for growth and further self-development. It would never end, not until he was at least six feet under the dirt.
