Jack Black.Assassin.full.2170863.png Perhaps my fight had been odd, yes, but the results of Arietty's were on a whole other level in that regard. Everything seemed to be going exactly in Izanami's favor, Arietty stood no chance against her physically. That much had been known from the beggining, it was not surprising. What was surprising were Arietty's words as the two of them made contact, and the effect it had on the teacher, who appeared to call out the fight. Arietty made her way back next to me and I gave her a thumbs up and a grin.

"That was some great work there! I'd say even better than I did, in fact. Maybe I'll you teach me a couple moves sometime." That last part was mostly just tongue-and-cheek. You can't teach someone your quirk. But I did genuinely find what she just managed to do quite impressive. And there were some layers hidden beneath the teacher's surface too. "I wonder what's leaving Dark Side so s- EEEEEP!"

The sudden materialization fo two arms wrapped around me startled me immensely. I turned my head around as fast as I could, only to get my field of vision blocked by a sudden cheek rubbing against mine. By the voice and by the smell, however, I managed to assess this was in fact that wolf girl from the earlier fight, seemingly already recovered. Leaving the annoyingly downputting sounds she was making at me aside, the compliment alone left me with a small blush. While I was still too surprised to struggle my way out I soon reached to grab her arms from beneath so I could detach myself, but it was like trying to bend steel beams.

"Wh-what a-are y-you d-d-doing? De-Desist from this behavior, at once!" I instructed the person.

<It's ok Kath, she means well. She means well. She means well. She means well. She means well....> I thought, trying to concentrate on that as I replied to her statements.

"My name is Ka-Katharine-Corula Zweihild Von Kleinerheld. B-but indeed, you can call me Katherine. Or Kiki, oh wait..." I gulped, not sure what to say about that. The whole situation was so sudden and out of left field I accidentally slipped that nickname... "I-in a-a-any case case, th-thank you for the compliments... I... "

Daraka Onogumo

Daraka watches over the other fights with visible disdain, it is as if they aren't taking it at all serious. That tiny child resorting to biting and a punch in the groin? We are heroes in training, do something worth calling yourself a hero. Spitting on the ground Daraka mutters to those within ear shot.

"psshh, she should go back to kindergarden. haha Rocky's fight was a better than that." Shaking his head, at this point he would rather not watch. Seems like the most exciting stuff is over with anyway. Taking a walk rather far from those of the class Daraka lays himself down looking up into the beautiful blue sky. Connie flails slightly his grin still ever present on his face, letting out a merry chuckle before taking a few steps back in order to watch Izanami-chan take a shot at the children. His blue eyes spot the young Onogumo wandering by himself, the tall man walks over putting himself in a ninety degree angle.

"Is something wrong? Daraka-Kun?" The ever present grin is a soft reminder that the Headmaster of this school was a big ol softie. Daraka's view now shadowed by the twig giant growls out "Just didn't like what I saw..." Connie chuckles before laying down Izanami-chans jacket on the floor next to Daraka so he himself can sit. "The thing about quirks Daraka-kun, some aren't born with the potential to just 'Crash through the gates' so to speak haha" He couldn't help laugh at his own joke turning the whole school property damage into something light hearted. Daraka closes his eyes saying "Whatever you say Sunshine-sama." Connie was a little set back, he was infact given all the advantages in the world, but he turned from them to help those who really needed it...He was sure Daraka would see that in time.

Arietty

Ari left the arena dumbfounded, but was glad to see Kath’s smiling face as she approached her. The girl greeted her with a thumbs up and Ari gave her a little smile in return. She listened to Kath’s encouragement and scoffed a little.

“I don’t really feel like I won to be honest,” Ari said softly. “Nothing like you! You bit Master Bang!” Ari was trying her best to fake optimism, but it was hard. She wasn’t used to using her quirk, let alone being praised for it. Wasn’t it bad? A preach of privacy? Why had Dark Side seemed to be impressed, even though she was shaken. Her mother had always told her that her quirk was bad, evil. Anytime Ari accidentally used it she had been scolded. The telekinesis was fine, in fact her mother encouraged her to grow that and depend on it as a quirk. It was the other side that was to be hidden. No one liked having their emotions read.

Kath started to ask her further about her interaction with Dark Side when a bounding wolf girl came out of nowhere and tackled Kath in a hug. Ari laughed slightly at Kath’s distress, she squirmed and fought against the girl who spoke to her.

“Did you just say Kiki?” Ari asked through a friendly laugh. She was totally calling her that from now on. The wolf-girl, she assumed was Johanna, she had befriended Jono over the summer. The same girl, who had been wiping blood off of him so gingerly before. Ari did her best to avoid the jealousy that bubbled under the surface when she thought about it. Johanna seemed...nice, and it wasn't like it was her fault Jono and her had broken up. That blame rested entirely with her. Jono was free to befriend, or have blood wiped off his face by whoever he chose.

She was standing next to Kath, regaining her composure when a voice broke through her train of thought. Ari turned to see a bright red-haired girl looking at her with concern.

“Yeah, I’m okay!” she reassured the girl. “That punch just really hurt,” It was a weak attempt to avoid having to talk about what happened, but Ari really wasn’t sure how else to explain it. It was easier to show it, but that didn’t make Ari super comfortable either.

“Your fight is coming up soon right? Best of luck to you!” Ari did her best to be encouraging. “She’s super fast! So be careful.”

Johanna
She had continued her cheek rubbing for a little bit longer, before pausing a bit when she spoke about 'desisting'. She blinked a few times, cheeks still pressed against each other as she spoke softly,"Kotowaru?" she inquired thinking about that word. The wrath reason? Her dialect had been playing tricks with her again, and since her mother and father both had a southern tohoku dialect, Johanna had picked it up to. This meant that their i's sounded like u's, and words like sushi, susu, and shishi all came out as susu. This fact, and the fact she couldn't fathom the girl who was most obviously a seven year old wanting her to stop, and perhaps she was just too young to pronounce whatever she was trying to, let Johanna lean towards her trying to mean something else.

"You want me to do it more?" she questioned hugging her tighter and rubbing their faces against each other even faster, before stopping with she sputtered her name out. She blinked a few times, finally breaking their embrace and scratched her chin,"Kiki-chan?" she questioned before her eyes had turned sparkly and she clasped her gloved hands together.

"Kiki-chan! That's so cuteeeeeeeee...." she dragged off the last syllable of the word before clearing her throat, and crossing her left arm across her abdomen and bringing her right hand to her chin, using her other arm to rest her elbow on. A serious look had crossed her face as she seemed to be in serious thought about something. What could it have possibly been that caused the young wolf-teen to go from cartoonish to stone cold seriousness?

A few moments would pass as she remained silent before finally, she broke her own self-imposed speaking restriction.

"Mhm, mhm. Well it's settled," she said with a confident nod, before pointing a finger in her direction with a devious smile playing on her lips,"I dub you....." She trailed off for a second with that devious smile still there, before it disappeared to a cartoonish smile,"imouto-chan. Super cute!"

Impulse

Jono watched as Johanna moved off, not bothering to say much. Not that Jono ever really ever said much in the first place. Most of the time, he preferred to be left alone. People liked using Jono as a blank canvas; naturally, he was hesitant to pass judgement. Perspective meant a lot to Jono and understanding both sides of conflicts or issues was imperative. Jono often found that people liked using their 'friends' to complain, explain drama, vent, talk about themselves or feel loved. He saw through this constant facade and as a result, kept his hand far outstretched for when people tried to get in too close.

This classroom seemed somewhat cliquey. A lot of students in this particular class knew one another. Maybe it wasn’t a coincidence. Some of them were family members or cousins. Others were friends of Kath so they were indirectly tied. Meanwhile, Jono withheld little to no connections. Perhaps they used one another to better themselves; such as Rocky and Daraka, who had been talking nonstop of their rivalry since before class even started. First it was with their fists. Now it had evolved further. One couldn't fall too far behind in strength without giving up to the other, so the two of them used it as a tool to grow stronger. Jono had seen plenty of animes containing this. They mostly sucked.

The young man sacrificed the benefits of having strong ties with others as a means to protect himself from when they inevitably let him down. Jono knew the feeling all too well. It wasn’t particularly anybody’s fault; people had their own lives to lead, they had their own obligations. They put importance on what they felt necessary. It was not that they didn't have a right, but Jono was also hard to understand. He was not easy-going enough to really be friends with everyone. Jono spoke his mind without filtering his thoughts, and that turned people off sometimes. There was a no-bullshit policy that he was very keen on keeping and fucking hated when people tried lying to him. They were almost never good enough. Jono knew the signs; he looked for physical queues and paid attention to body language every time he came in contact with people.

Every fucking time.

Jono was unsatisfied with a lot of things. The sluggish nature of the government. Unsatisfied by his hobbies and unsatisfied with groupthink. Jono understood that people were different, so he never really held people’s faults to a grudge. But when Jono stopped answering the phone, that was usually a tell-tale sign that he was done trying to put in any effort, even to communicate. There was truly no need. Jono often cut people out of his life he felt he did not need. Others were cut out due to miscommunication or misunderstanding.

The teen was hard to forget those people. He often thought about his failures in life, especially in relation to people he cared about.

Jono was not an out-of-sight, out-of-mind kind of person. He could go years without talking to someone and still think about them on a regular basis. It was something he could not control - and an aspect of his personality he disliked. It made him weak. The other main trait he felt contempt for was his general impatience. There was not enough time in the day to balance what he needed to do and what he wanted to do. Oftentimes, Jono put off sleeping as a means to get use out of as many hours as he possibly could, just so that he would go to sleep feeling satisfied. And even then, he never wanted to give up his consciousness to recharge his batteries. Lack of sleep often made him easily irritable and there was nothing that really helped with that. These feelings were all tied to general anxiety.

The teen looked back down at his phone.

Yuuta watched Kath and Master Bang's fight both amazingly and horrifyingly. An exchange of hits happened between them until she landed a punch on the teacher's groin and a quick second after a kick to the small girl's face. As a boy, he could feel how much it would hurt being punched in the groin. At that moment, it sent shivers from his feet up to his legs, as if he was the one getting punched. After that, Kath has declared the winner and Master Bang withdrew due to the pain radiating at his groin, having Dark-Side-san to take over.

He put a hand on his chest, releasing a sigh of relief and all of the nervousness he had accumulated. "T-thank goodness, I didn't have to fight Master Bang."

Yuuta was a tiny bit unsettled about the fight between the blue-haired girl and Dark Side. That moment after Dark Side landed a direct hit at her, and after she was about to do her second attack, everything just went... still. It lasted a few moments, and the blue-haired girl was declared the winner. There was an emotion printed on the teacher's face which is impossible to hide. Sadness and despair. He wondered what could've happened, but the most probable explanation is the girl's quirk. The following fight after that, Dark-Side was back to normal. which seemed good. Maybe her quirk doesn't last long.

"Yuuta-san?" Dark-side called him. It was his turn to fight. He put on his gadget that looked like claws and attached it to the back of his hand.
    latest
It would help him control his wires since he's having a hard time controlling it without his gadget. Yuu sighed, repeatedly muttering to himself, "I can do this, I can do this, I can do this." Finally, he walked in front of the crowd, with a serious expression on his face. He put a distance between Dark-Side and him. Right after he took his place, he started off by raising his hand chest level. His claws, well, fingers, produced wires almost instantaneously, and all five of them were going straight towards the teacher.

After all, Yuuta knew he wouldn't win this fight by strength alone, so he had to at least land a punch or a scratch with his claws on her with his speed.

"Please, do not misconstrue my words lupine girl! I have requested that you cease this at once!" Nothing I could do seemed like it would be enough, however. Nonetheless, when I spoke my name, she seemed to stop. Was that it? Was this some kind of torture designed to get me to confess something about my name? I heard Ari repeat the name I had given in that confusion, as if she discovered gold, which reminded me that she was still there. I turned my gaze to her, a pleading look of "rescue me", but Ari had already turned to adress some red haired girl. While this was a shock, I was soon relieved to be released from the werewolf's grasp, as she too apppeared to have found an appreciation of some kind. I gulped, feeling the need to justify. "Well, you see, I... you don't really NEED to call me such... I...Kiki... Kiki was just the name I was called I was younger before I... is something the matter?"

All of the sudden the wolf girl's face has mysteriously turned stone cold. It almost sent shivers down my spine how fast that transitiion was, the anticipation was worse than that of whatever punishment awaited me with the teacher currently fighting the students. Finally, she settled on something, I took a step back fearing for what it could be until she announced she was choosing to call me "little sister". I froze for a moment, trying to process what I was just told, before being overcome by a sudden outrage.

"What do you mean, little sister?! For the record, I do in fact have ties to a sibling, however, such a person was proceeding my own birth, not preceeding. Understand? I am a big sister! Just... I... " I averted my gaze. There was [div class=cryword]something[/div] hurting in my eyes. As they rolled down my eyes, I realized what was happening. Rokurou "Rock" Ishikawa
Place: Shiketsu High School
Time: Morning - First day of school
Tag:
Jadus Jadus Maj Maj S Say my Name

Rock's injury was something more than concerning as Rock still kept one his hand tight to his rib and the other to his neck to keep pressure in them. Those spots, especially his abdomen was burning with soreness. From both fight this morning, all of which he took more damage in total than conflicting it to his opponent, there were two strikes down low, two high kicks, a rock to his neck and one special crashing his back to a steel gate. It was more to call it daily training bruises but he couldn't let something like this keep him down.

On the other hand, Rock was more concerning when there were more students for the school nurse to tend than Rocky, they took worse than him from Bang-sensei. Felix, Jono, Johanna and Daraka all took it pretty bad as well, they should be tended first. Also Haruna's fight was also about to finish, she should definitely be healed first.

"- Really... I'm okay. You should go tend other students, some got worse than me."

Rock determinedly repeated himself despite everyone concern. It was something he had been through before and there wasn't a singing healer back then. But before he could've anything more, a pair of hand held his cheek and kept it under its fingers tenderly. Caught by surprise and while he was unwell, Rock was unable to react to Allison-sensei attempt to heal him. What happened next to Rock was a warm, pleasant feeling of his wounds started healing along with a beautiful voice. His pain started to wear off quickly as Rock didn't have the chance to resist this time. The healing section was so pleasant, it came to an end with Rock almost unnoticed.

“Try to prove me wrong boys, okay? As much as I like to see your smiling face, I don’t like having to patch you up after stupid fights.”

Rock had barely been treated like this before. In training with his father, he usually had to take care of his own wounds and Haruna's wound sometime when they practiced togeter. Everything that went so fast and caught Rock by surprise, the healing and her singing voice, he was speechless. But his eyes couldn't kept away from her...

"- Sensei..."

As she walked away from him to take care other student, Rock was almost able to say something, but it was too little too late. He had no choice but to keep it to himself as he looked at her walking away.

"- Daraka, Runa... I think I'm in love right now..."

Rock mumbled as his eyes was still looking at Allison-sensei from afar. He didn't even noticed to Daraka's challenging tone or Haruna's cocky expression, though they're next to him.

Akane

Akane forced back a surprised yelp as his back hit the ground, arm trapped by the instructor. That was incredibly fast, considering it was all done in the span of time it took the knife to hit the floor which in itself was unnerving considering the fact it was few centimeters off from ruining his pretty face. Then again, he was dealing with a professional hero but he was still hoping to get at least a hit in and failing to do som was a blow to his confidence. Gritting his teeth a little, he got up quickly after Dark Side let go of him and immediately bowed. After hearing the instructor say he could go blow to blow with her in a few years his bad mood instantly lifted and he had to fight back a small smile as he looked down at the teacher.

"Thank you Sensei." He says, bowing one more time before turning and walking away from her when she called the next student. Reaching up, he pulls out the hair tie to let his hair free. Running a hand through it, he walks back to Yami's side while making a mental note to start improving his speed once this was all over and done with.

"So Yami, you think you're ready for this?" He asked the orange haired girl, glancing at her for a moment looking back at the teacher and the green haired student that had joined her. He noticed how the boy didn't waste any time and immediately started attacking Dark side.

Dark Side
Her eyes fell on the boy as he broke from the crowd doing everything like she normally would to analyze him, but her time was cut short. If smiling was a common occurrence for Dark Side, this would have been one of those moments that she did. He hadn't hesitated and took the initiative, which would benefit him greatly. Well in theory at least. She still had gathered plenty of information to use still but had not had the time to create a strategy.

As the wires came at her she reached under her shirt and behind her back to grab another kunai, the other one she kept on her at all times. The other one was still lodged in the ground from her earlier right somewhere off to the left of Yuuta. One would be plenty. She placed it in her right hand with the tip facing back towards her before she did a few slashes at a lightning pace to cut through the wires, before starting to move to her right running full speed. She took her left hand and put it on her chest before quickly pointing it slightly to the left of Yuuta, as if she were telegraphing where she was about to attack. Was she that confident?

She didn't stop running at full speed but instead of just running straight, she seemed to be encircling Yuuta before coming to a sliding stop.

Calypso

Children trying to be macho and refusing medical treatment literally never worked with Allison. If you were hurt, you got healed. End of story. Thankfully, most didn’t put up too much of a fight, any who got too hysterical got a dose of her lullaby. Calmed a fussy patient down and made them docile immediately. She vaguely heard the children behind her talking about her, but paid them no mind. She had other hilarious things to attend to.

It took everything in her power not to laugh when Bang left the field. That little girl had a lot of spunk. It wasn’t that she hated Bang really, she just thought he was too hard on his students. She had brought it up to him a few times but he didn’t want to listen, she had even gone above his head, but results spoke louder than words and Bang always got results.

Still part of her just liked to be a thorn in his side, not that he ever seemed to pay her any attention. She was more like a fly buzzing in his ear, mildly annoying but not even remotely a threat. Not that she was a threat to anyone, she had a big bark, but her fighting days were far behind her. She had lost too much.

She was relieved that Izanami had taken over the testing. While she was just as fierce as Bang, she had no doubt that she wouldn’t unnecessarily hurt the children. Her fight with the little blue haired girl had been proof enough of that. She saw what she needed to see in the girl and ended the fight. The children would probably be safe for a few minutes.

She followed Bang off the field, quickly catching up to him despite her heels. If there was a super power for being agile in heels, Allison had that as well.

“I was kidding about refusing you treatment you know,” she said as she caught up. “Unfortunately, my code of ethics as a doctor made me promise to give care to everyone.” She didn’t expect for him to take her up on her offer, the macho old man had surely suffered worse wounds than this.

“What a bunch you have this year,” she speculated “they seem like a…uh…lively bunch. What do you think, any pros coming out of this class?”

Yuuta watched Dark Side-sensei cut through his wires like a piece of paper, but that didn't faze him. Rather, he was expecting it. What he'd do next is grapple himself upwards, and try to dive and attack sensei while she was still immobile. Dark Side sensei started to run at him full speed, closing the distance between them. He raised his right hand and tried to grapple on to a wall- He looked around him, but there was nothing high standing near on where they are. "This is not good." He muttered. The wire on his right hand reached its max distance, and it fell down and evaporated like steam from boiling water.

Yuuta was certainly on a disadvantage when it comes to mobility. Sensei pointed to the left of him. Is she telling me where she's going to attack, or is it a fake? Anyway, with his speed disadvantage, he needs to find an opening. Yuuta was expecting sensei to strike him with her kunai since she was running straight towards him. Instead, Sensei circled him... Yuu removed the claw gadget on his right hand, and put it into his pocket. He concentrated his quirk on his hand, and... Dark Side stopped, and at that moment, his left hand was fully covered in wires. He took a few steps closer to her, and tried to land a direct hit on sensei.

Bang had just turned into his office as Calypso caught up with him. The old man had been preparing to go home, though it looked as though his escape would not go as smoothly as originally planned. Hearing that all-too-familiar voice, Bang scoffed. What the hell did the nurse want, now? As she spoke about god-knows-what, Bang took that valuable time to tidy some stuff up in his office and throw some shit into a bag. He had to be careful just how he was moving, considering the - well, tender areas that needed a bit of rest before coming out to play once more.

The old man grabbed a towel off of a nearby shelf. He used it to wipe some of the sweat off of his face, eventually moving it up to the top of his head before pausing. Did she say she wanted to help heal him? Given his problematic area, this would mean that she would undoubtedly be forced to examine the damage. Well, maybe not examine the damage per se, but she had to place her hand on the damaged area to fix it, right? While singing a little song?

Those beady eyes vertically looked the nurse up. Bang didn’t say a word for a whole half of a minute.

maxresdefault.jpg

Clearing his throat, Bang moved the towel to the inside of his bag. His eyes moved from the nurse back down, zipping his knapsack up before throwing it over his shoulder. He did not have a replacement shirt on him. That was unfortunate. Walking through the street was always damn awkward when he was half naked. In a world where there were cat people walking around, the fucking ripped old man was still quite an awe-inspiring sight, apparently. And people even knew who the hell he was!

“I have to say, some of these kids are quite disrespectful. Moreso than previous classes.” Bang spoke as he absentmindedly continued picking stuff up around his small office. He had a smile on his face. “I cannot say that I blame them. I was one of those children, many years ago. And I have helped kids who were far worse off. I see some amazing promise out of that lot. I was not responsible for their selection, nor am I any year for fear of prejudice. That being said, I did fight one student whom in particular I am not sure about. I will need to speak to him and in doing so I will hopefully get a better understanding of how it is he was able to get into my class. I don’t expect everyone to be able to fight, but i’m wondering if it’s possible for a kid without a quirk to still get into this school. Let alone, my class.”

Bang took a moment to reflect. It was only the first day. Saying that he saw a bunch of professionals coming out of the class, or none, meant very little at this moment in time. Given the past few generations of graduates, Shiketsu had seen just over 100 professional heroes graduating out of their academy since its creation. They weren’t the best numbers, but the market was oversaturated. That being said, Shiketsu still had the second-best rates for graduating into the workforce. Which was saying a lot.

“There are about twenty students in this class. If we do the math given the academy’s previous record; I don’t know if more than a handful of students will actually graduate and do meaningful work.” Bang smiled.

“But who knows? I’ve been wrong before.”

"Yeah, I'm okay!" Arietty reassured. "That punch just really hurt." As soon as she heard those words, Yami eyed the blue-haired girl with as much disbelief as she would if she tried to convince her a diaper-wearing boy could become a hero, and Yami really couldn't hide it. Her eyebrows furrowed, her head tilted. She didn't doubt that the hit she took hurt, but she also didn't take Arietty as one to start bawling after getting punched. That seemed to be more of Yami's calling card, at least in previous experiences.

Yami caught on, though. She realized, after deducing that Arietty's quirk must have something to do with the conscious, that she might've seen or felt something she didn't want to. Essentially, she had a ridiculously cool quirk that she probably wasn't very happy with. Yami could relate, although possibly for different reasons, so she decided she wouldn't push her to talk about it. Yami wouldn't... for now. As soon as the two were in private, she was going to interrogate Arietty to no end.

Her face lost its expression before she nodded. "That's good!" She replied, then paused. Yami waved her hands out in front of her, her face a beet-red. That really didn't come out the way she wanted it to. "I mean, not good that it hurt, but good that it wasn't something else." She added, letting out an awkward laugh. Maybe she should've just stuck to psyching herself out. She forgot all about it, though, when Arietty attempted to encourage her. "Your fight is coming up soon, right? Best of luck to you! She's super fast! So be careful." Yami's body nearly sunk into the ground. She tried to put her mind off her future beating with conversation, and it worked before now. "A-hah.. Yeah. Thanks."

As if her savior, Akane- Bane, definitely Bane- appeared next to her. She must've talked throughout the rest of his test. Oops!

She eyed him, looking for any bruises or gashes he could've gotten, and upon seeing none, she gave him a thumbs up. "Good job, Bane-san!" Yami wouldn't admit that she didn't watch the entirety of his fight, but she knew he had to have done well if he passed.

"So Yami, you think you're ready for this?" He asked her. Ahh, people kept bringing that up, her fight. She definitely wasn't prepared at all, but she'd probably look bad if she admitted that. All of her other classmates were confident in their abilities, or at least they seemed to be. Maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to fake it until she made it. "I guess," she answered. Drats. She didn't seem very convinced. Yami tried to fix her mistake with a lie, "Yeah! I think I am."

She didn't want to continue the conversation, with the fear that her uncertainty would be challenged, and she supposed Bane already gave her name to Arietty for her. So, she looked over at the person who took Bane's place, a green-haired kid whose name she had yet to learn. From what she could see, the kid produced wires from his fingers, and while she was intrigued by his quirk, another thing, or person rather, caught her eye. Kath- er, Wrath- had tears rolling down her face. She was obviously perturbed, and Yami could feel her heart squeeze. Was this really the girl who fought Master Boomerang with such ferocity? She had no idea what or who could've caused her tears, but she thought it necessary to know.

"Wrath-san, are you okay?" Yami asked, moving to address the smaller girl. She glanced at the person next to her, Wolf-girl, and thinking that Wrath would be unable to answer while crying, she continued, "What happened?"

Arietty

This girl was not buying her lame ass excuse. She seemed like such a sweet girl, caring about her classmates and had the decency not to push further. Ari gave her a grateful smile. Her face fell at the mention of the fight and Ari did her best to be positive to her, as Kath was for Ari.

“Listen, if a wimp like me can get through this, you can too!” She gave her the most encouraging smile she could before the girl got distracted by her friend coming off the field. Ari turned back to Kath and Johanna.

Ari watched the scene between Johanna and Kath in mild amusement. It was the type of scene right out of anime, and honestly the whole thing was just…adorable. That was until Kath started to get uncomfortable. It started kind of slowly, she seemed to struggle more and get more flustered, more formal, not like the Kath she had just been talking to. Then Johanna mentioned something about Kath being her little sister. Ari knew this wasn’t something Kath would like before she even reacted.

Kath was a strong fighter and shouldn’t be stereotyped because of her looks. Ari knew exactly how much that sucked. It happened all the time, if it wasn’t because of her dark eyeliner and piercings, it was because of her crazy colored hair, or maybe even the way she always looked like she was in a bad mood and avoided eye contact. She was often seen as stand-offish or weird. She was just…Arietty.

Kath, who was too embarrassed to even talk about shopping for cute clothes, was most likely victim to this same labeling. Then Johanna called her a little sister? Rough, not that Johanna would have even know, or realized what this could mean to Kath. There was something deeper going on with Kath’s appearance, but it wasn’t Ari’s place to pry. When the tears came, enough was enough.

“Listen, I don’t think she likes that,” Ari said with some ice in her tone, locking eyes with Johanna. She didn’t say it as a threat, or even to be unkindly, just firm enough that Johanna would see poor Kath’s face and loosen her grip.

Bang gave her a very intense stare to which Allison only raised an eyebrow. Was he okay? She hoped he wasn’t having a stroke on her watch. Eventually he went back to his normal shuffling around, ignoring her. She rolled her eyes. Just because the two of them didn’t see eye to eye was no reason for all the passive aggressive avoidance he always gave her. They were still colleagues. She had been a pro too, back in her day, maybe not quite as popular as Bang, but she could have been with some more time.

She listened to his description of the students and smiled. She had no doubt that Bang had been just like them, disrespectful and hot headed. She wondered how he would fare if he had his younger self as a student. Would he find them promising? Or would he think of himself as he did this group.

“Well despite all my protests, you get results. If you are going to beat them up at least make sure they know where to find me yeah?” She said with a nonchalant wave of her hand. “Not that I agree with the beating up part, but that’s not my job, it’s yours so… “she gave a halfhearted sigh “time to let sleeping dogs lie.”

She walked from his office, heels clacking their giveaway sound on the floor. She turned back and gave him one of her characteristic smiles and flipped her hair over her shoulder.

“If you find that ice isn’t enough to soothe your issues you know where I am~” she said in a sing song voice. “And take care of yourself Bang. You aren’t as young as you used to be, you know?” and with that she was gone, walking back to her office to finish her paperwork from that morning. She couldn’t let Bang’s class dictate all her time, there was a whole school full of students who depended on her medical care, and she wouldn’t let them down.

She’d never let anyone down again. The consequences were too high when she did.

Dark Side
There was something unrefined about how the student was fighting or perhaps watching his failed attempts to use his quirk in a practical manner made him feel like a flopping fish on dry land to her. Whatever the case was, the luster of being impressed by his initiative had worn off and Izanami felt miserable that she had to watch him go about like that. She had so much hope for him, but it was ok! They were first years, and they'd improve just like every first year had so far.

He had closed the distance between the two, which had worked out for Izanami for the better as she stood there with that signature blank face watching as he charged forward. She had to stifle a yawn as she twirled the metal loop on the bottom of the kunai around her finger, before gripping it tightly and yanking her left hand towards her chest. When she did this Yuuta would be stopped in his tracks and yanked hards towards the ground, being bound by something invisible. As she played with her left hand a bit, trying to get the angle right - metal wires became visible in light there was.

When she had brought her hand to her chest, she was in actuality reaching under her shirt and under her bra to grab the senbon she kept hidden there. She had gripped four of the needles, and when she quickly pointed at Yuuta she was actually throwing them at varying locations around him. The pointing was used as a distraction for her sleight of hand. She had used kunai she left in the ground earlier to mark the distance, and that's why she had kept circling him. Fortunately for him, there weren't any building or trees or other obstacles around (she was aware of her surroundings unlike some people) that she was only able to set it up to focus on his legs.

After a moment, she sighed looking to the downed boy,"Please be more aware of your environment. If the goal was to hurt you, I would have used the razor wires. " and with that she released the wires from her hand, which would allow him to pull the wires off.

She reached in her pocket, grabbing that stupid notebook and a pen and scratched his name off,"Oh look, the last match of the day. Yami-san, please join me."

When Calypso turned back one last time, Bang looked up so that his eyes met hers.

“Thank you.”

And he meant it. Despite the fact that Calypso constantly complained about him and he had to deal with Connie’s bitching as a result, it did not reflect on her work. Calypso was very much a miracle worker, to the point where she made the properties of natural healing seem to be a joke in comparison. Her powers were super effective and fast-acting, which was part of the reason why Bang didn’t invite her in the first place.

It wouldn’t be a big deal to bring injured students to Calypso after the testing period, because of how good she was at her job. How fast she could heal. Regardless of half a class worth of work, she could get it done in a matter of mere minutes. Though Bang was irresponsible for not having her on the scene in case of bad accidents, Izanami was there. Bang was well aware that Izanami was more than capable of taking care of any extraneous incidents, as she had done for him plenty of times before. His students could not possibly understand that their actions, even the split-second decisions they made in battle, would have long-lasting consequences if she was just there to heal them immediately afterwards.

Bang knew Izanami since she was a young girl. Hell, Izanami was his pupil for many years.

Though, not at Shiketsu - rather, at his dojo. Bang at first was a martial artist. When he first met Izanami, she was a child who he had met after walking out of a grocery store and seeing her being beaten up. Even an older man in his late fifties then, Bang ended up chasing off that group of kids from her family's dojo. Bang initially brought Izanami in and taught her self-defense free of charge. Once her parents started finding out that Bang was responsible for their child’s mood change, confidence and happier demeanor, they kept her enrolled. Years went by; Izanami was one of Bang's best students. He loved her as if she was his own daughter. He attended all of her ceremonies, was close with her parents and even attended her graduation at Yuei after teaching classes at Shiketsu. Bang played political chess to help her become a professor at the academy a few years later. This was her first year and Bang's reputation was on the line, but he knew she would be one of the best professors the academy had ever seen.

Calypso was someone who became a hero around the same time that Bang started slowing down his active role. While he never officially retired from being a hero, Bang did retire from going out hunting for villains and active work. Bang showed up plenty of time over the years for the big events, the hard fights; when the world needed the top heroes, Bang was there. He was still ranked at #7. The old man was consistently in the top 10 for the past three decades. The first time Bang met Calypso, he was beaten to the brink of death. Still, to this day, he knew that without Calypso being a hero at all, he would have been as dead that day. April 25th, 2093. He still remembered the exact date; it was a Tuesday morning.

Flicking the lights off in his office, Bang slowly walked out of his office. It was time to go home. Walking out of the front doors of the academy, the old man walked through the front gates and out onto the sidewalk. Just as he stepped foot off of the premises, a gigantic black suburban truck pulled up to a stop. It had three young adults in it, with a seat open for Bang in the back. The old man opened the door and got in. He hit a button to close the tinted window before the SUV rolled off.

Before Yuuta knew it, she was gone, and his punch missed. "Hngh!" He was suddenly yanked down hard on the ground, which made him groan as his cheek was the first to hit the ground to minimize the pain in his face. He could hear Dark Side-sensei doing sorts of things while he was struggling to escape from her grip. For a girl, she's really strong! He knew that struggling was no use for him, and his dominant hand was covered in wires which made him unable to make more wires, and his left hand was being held down. He also felt wires being wrapped on his arms, and he knew that wasn't his. He couldn't do anything at this point. "I guess I lose, Dark Side-sensei."

Damn it... She's a teacher on a hero academy, which means she's a pro hero! How could I underestimate a pro hero?
He felt the wires on his hand go loose, so he pulled his hands apart and stood up. There was a look of disappointed printed in his face as he walked on the crowd. Yuuta heard sensei that the next fight would be the last one, so he scanned the crowd and looked for someone who didn't fight either teacher yet.

Yuu moved towards a red-haired girl that he didn't see before class. Maybe she was late? Anyway, he touched the girl's shoulder, and said, "Your turn." After that, he saw Kath crying. Probably because Master Bang kicked her so hard in the face? Well, he didn't know the exact reason, but there were people comforting her already by the looks of it. The cat girl from earlier, the blue-haired winner girl from earlier, and a black-haired boy. Yuu figured they were enough to comfort Kath, so he ignored them. He faced back to the field to watch their class's final fight.

Akane

Akane smiled at the red hair girl when she said he had done a good job. When she said 'I guess' after he asked her if she was ready for her fight he could tell she wasn't very confident but choose not to say anything instead choosing to look at the green haired kid fight. The boy's attitude, well at the beginning of the fight at least, was good but he needed to work on his quirk and speed. Regardless, when the boy came back to the group of student he shot him a smile like the one he sent Yami.

"You did well." He says to the boy before turning his attention back to Yami.

"Good luck!" He says, grinning at her. Then out of the corner of his eye noticed the tiny girl who had hit Mister Bang in the nuts crying. How he didn't notice that before, he didn't know but chose to ignore that and turned to the girl fully.

"Hey, you ok?" He asked, tilting his head a little.

Johanna
Johanna blinked as she listened to the girl speak. For a child, she'd had such an advanced vocabulary, and though Johanna did not have the same benefit of this vocabulary she made sure she would take a mental note and look up the word 'lupin the third' later. For now, she was focused on the girl as she spoke.

When it came down to her statement she had expected some resistance to the idea of being called little sister. Even if the assumption was for the wrong reason (being that little kids always wanted to be big kids), she still expected her to fight it. She was just going to have convinced her over time to accept the term. They would be the cutest sisters in the world, and they could start a hero agency together. They could call their hero team, 'Shimai' (which would totally sound like shu-mai to someone else when Johanna said it, and that was a totally different thing. Look it up.)

What she hadn't expected were the tears as she struggled to get through the last sentence. She had mentioned about she already having a sibling connection, and that she was the big sister. Her words in combination with her tears made it obvious that some tragedy had struck the little girl. Perhaps that's she was acting mature beyond her age. It would explain why she was in a class with the big kids. Johanna never experienced any feelings like that, but the thought made her sad. She had never had a sister or a brother for that matter. Her home was no bigger than 250 people and she and her family lived on a farm. So she made sure to treat her few friends like family, they were like her brothers and sisters. They were her pack. Leaving them behind was tough, but she was sure it was nothing compared to what Kath was facing.

When Ari's voice broke the air, Johanna cut her eyes at her -baring her canines just a bit. It wasn't meant to be anything personal, her instinct had just taken over and she was in 'protective' mode. She ignored everyone else asking if the girl was alright, and knelt so that she could be eye level. It wasn't to patronize her no it was intended to do the opposite. She wanted to make sure she knew they were equal.

She looked deep into the girl's eyes before sighing and offering a smile,"I don't know what happened to make you react like this, but I will never replace your sister or even try to. I've never had a sister before, but I'm sure you can have more than one. You can be apart of my pack, and we can be sisters, and I'll stand by you no matter what. I'll make sure whatever it takes for you to never cry like that again, is taken care of. So what do you say? Join my pack?"

Yami Kawaguchi
弓美 川口

Yami had been too caught up in the events around her to notice the latest fight had ended, but when she heard a pen click, seemingly louder than any other sound around her, she could've sworn her heart dropped. Dark Side had been marking off the names of the kids who passed, Yami noted, and since she triple-counted the number of students earlier, she easily recognized that she was the last one. The grand finale. Yami didn't have any more time to fret about other students because now, she had to worry about herself. She just hoped that her name would be crossed off in Dark Side's notebook by the time she was done.

"Oh look, the last match of the day. Yami-san, please join me." Yami really liked how her teacher said please right before she was about to crush her like a bug.

Most of Yami's peers were going to be watching, most would have a front-row seat to see her fail. Could she even call them her peers after her fight; would she be on their level? She assumed Bane and Arietty wouldn't want to speak to her after, let alone be seen near her. Yami remembered the words Arietty had told her minutes before, 'Listen, if a wimp like me can get through this, you can too!' That was just to make her feel better, wasn't it? Yami was a supreme wimp, the wimpest wimp there was, and she knew it. Now, the people around her were going to know too.

Yami was trembling again, but this time, it obviously wasn't because of her cold. In fact, her cold, her only silver lining on this horrible day, seemed to be taking a rain-check. She hadn't sneezed all morning, and with how her anxiousness was drying out her mouth, she knew she couldn't and shouldn't activate her quirk voluntarily. Her only hope was gone, just like that. So, she stood there for a few seconds, her gaze glued to the ground before she felt a hand on her shoulder. Het gaze met that of the green-haired boy's, and he said to her, "Your turn." Ahh, Yami was totally screwed. Bane said something to the boy, but at this point, Yami wasn't paying attention to anyone but herself. She didn't even hear him tell her good luck.

She started taking small, stiff steps toward her teacher and stopped far from her, when she felt like she couldn't take the intensity anymore. Yami didn't want to initiate anything, but she didn't want her teacher to either. She had to fight, though. She had to try. Her fingers looped around the strings of her surgical mask, and she pulled it down to her chin. That was about as ready as she could get.

Arietty

Everyone seemed to be rushing to Kath’s defense, which was insane. Not that Kath wasn’t worthy of all the support, but it wasn’t like Johanna had meant anything malicious by her actions, in fact Arietty assumed that she had meant to be friendly. Kath was an awesome person, kind and supportive, it made sense that people would flock to her.

Johanna barred her teeth at Arietty’s statement. Stupid Ari, she was no good at making friends, she was stupid to think that Kath needed her protection. With all these people, who was she in the scheme of it?

Nothing. She was nothing.

Arietty put her hands up in defensive defeated gesture. She hadn’t meant anything by her statement, except to make sure that Johanna realized what was going on in her excitement. As usual her attempt at a nice gesture had blown up in her face. When Johanna knelt, and was so nice to Kath, Ari should have just been happy for her friend. Her friend deserved happiness, kindness, but instead this white-hot knot filled her stomach. Kath deserved better than her as a friend, Jono too. If Johanna could provide that, who was she to fight it?

When the focus shifted, she moved away from the group of people coming to Kath’s defense and sat down on the field, focusing on the fights instead, away from everyone. This was all a mistake, she didn’t belong here. She couldn’t fight to save her life, she had been absolutely stunned when she passed the entrance exams, and even more so when Dark Side had complimented her.

‘Probably to be nice,’ She thought. They were teachers after all, they weren’t there to destroy their confidence. If Dark Side sensed all the weakness in her, she probably was doing her best to not hurt her too badly. That made way more sense to Ari than the fight going well.

She shouldn’t have come here, she should have just taken the full-time job she had been considering. Pay her bills, keep to herself. Jono had convinced her to apply for school, so she had. And now he was a constant reminder that she was just some weakling, striving to be better.

‘Stop,’ an inner voice told her ‘This is what your problem is, why do you always have to be so negative? You are here to get better, to grow,’ she wasn’t sure where the thoughts had come from, they may have even been her own, the positivity was just so rare. She exhaled through her nose, doing her best to keep the storm cloud of emotions at bay. She wanted a cigarette so bad she could almost taste it. Today had been a total bust. She threw her hair up in a messy bun on the top of her head, something she often did when she was lost in thought. She always seemed to be hyper aware of the hairs on the back of her neck when she was trying to think, it drove her mad.

She picked a stick up from the ground, holding it like a cigarette and tapped it impatiently on her knee, fighting to keep the energy to fake her good mood, and losing.

Stop crying! It doesn't matter how you look, you're a grown-ass teen, why are you bawling like a baby at something so small? Just being called a little sister and this is your reaction? Grow a pair! Have you no shame? Do you not care about what happens to the Von Kleinerheld name over this?

But it wasn't just about being called a little sister, was it? It certainly was part of it. But it felt like something else was being released as well. Kiki...why did that name slip out so easy? Getting caught off guard was a terrifying thing indeed, what it could bring out of oneself, those truths hidden deep down, this was...

A few years ago
................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Sitting across from me, the little girl kept peeling fruit. There was a smile on her face, but it was also obvious she had already eaten more than her fill. Her eyes seemed to want to avert from the apple, but more than that they were avoiding the basket with the little pink ribbon on it, which still had bottles of vinegar, more fruit, a few seemingly random plants, lotions and other junk.

"You really don't have to push yourself, you know? I brought those things cause, like, well, you know, I've been reading those articles again and stuff. Like they say apples are good for food poisoning and, like... Like, if you don't wanna have it all, I'm sure-"

"nmhmhm.." The girl in the hospital bed shook her head. "I love these sis. Thank you for bringing them over! This is all really kind of you. But are YOU eating properly? You aren't being a picky eater again while I'm not around are you?"

Worried as I was, I couldn't help but chuckle a little at that comment.

"You're one to talk. I saw how many packs of strawberry jelly you've been taking." The brown haired girl blush a little. That said, that was even more reason for her to stop eating. Without thinking, I quickly snapped the knife out of her hands, and pushed the basket away with my other hand. In response, my little sister smiled mischieviously after recovering from the innitial surprise, brought the half-peeled apple to her mouth and took a big bite. I gasped, but then chuckled as I realized she had stuck her canines into the apple and was having trouble pulling it out again. Like a little kid who gets their tongue stuck in a cold lighting post. "See, this is why you shouldn't play pranks on your big sister."

With the help of the knife I took from her, I removed the apple from her mouth. I begrudgingly allowed her to finish the fruit, turning to the window for a change of view while also taking the opportunity to stretch my legs, as I had ben sitting on that bench for a few hours now. It was my little sister who broke the silence, however.

"Hey, big sis... Have you been having fun at school?"

I couldn't bring myself to turn around right away. I know why she was asking that, at this rate she would never get to go to school again. Experience learning, friends, anything like that. I was a year behind others my age because of that time when I couldn't go to school either, but compared to what she was going through, I couldn't even imagine...

"Yeah, it's ok I guess." I responded in such a raw manner, with such a forced smile that I flashed at her. My gaze faced down. "Hey, what di- what do you want to be when you grow up?"

She gave it a moment's thought, seeming look around the room, then fiddle with her thumbs, before finally showing me a shy smile.

"I want to be a hero, big sis."

...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

This wasn't just about what I had been called. This was about what I was taking from her. I was here, standing among future heroes, being almost "adopted" by one of them, and she would never... I couldn't even finish the thought.

Before I knew it, I was surrounded by people asking me if I was ok. Realizing now what a scene I was making, me, the girl who just a bit earlier had defied Master Bang was now crying a river, I pratically punched myself in an attempt to wipe the tears from my face as quickly as I could. I sobbed, but tried to hold back the sounds, right up until I replied to them with a simple:

"I'm fine. I'm fine, thanks for worrying." I wanted to dismiss them, I didn't want all this attention focused on me all of the sudden. Then the wolf girl hugged me, and as she spoke I realized what a jerk move it was for me to start crying and make her look like a bad guy. I threw my arms around her too, sobbing on last time, then nodding even though I oculdn't fully understand everything she was saying behind her dialect. "Yeah, alright I'll ..."join your pack", whichever the meaning of that may be. Even if you only think of me the way you do because of how this body is. You do remind me of her a little, anyway."

Realizing her fangs kind resembled my little sister's old canines, that her demeanor was, if embarassing, a bit warm and comforting too... I just couldn't stay mad at her at all. I split from the hug, but flashed a smile at her.

"Thank you, I... Where's Arietty?" I had just noticed, but the girl left somewhere. She was so worried about me earlier, yet only she had left. I didn't know a lot about her, but leaving a friend behind, even if it was nothing really, it just didn't seem her type. Maybe it was because I had just been working through some pretty strong emotions, but I felt a sense of worry, and turned to the wolf girl. "I need to go check up on her, talk to you some other time."

I slithered through the crowd best I could, rushing to spot Ari sitting down with a stick in her mouth. I ran up to her, stopping right as I got next to her.

"Ariettty! I'm so sorry you had to see that... Are you, are you ok? Why is there a stick in your mouth? Did you fall? Are you hurt?"

Arietty

Arietty did her best to ignore the display that was happening, no sense in sinking herself further into the puddle of self-wallow she had created. She wished she could just brush off how she was feeling and go back to her fake smile and upbeat attitude, she probably could if she could have a smoke and a coffee, but that wasn’t an option now. Her option now was to suck it up till the end of the day.

The blue haired girl was genuinely shocked when Kath came running up to her. Ari had honestly been thinking she was going to hang out with Johanna, she didn’t want to get in the way of that. But here she was, looking down at her looking concerned. Ari almost laughed, man could she be REAL dumb sometimes.

“See what?” Ari asked meaningfully. “You didn’t do anything wrong. It doesn’t matter if you are 6 feet tall or 2, feelings are feelings and nothing to apologize for.” She gave Kath a sad knowing smile, she had dealt with her own chunk of bad ones, if you could help them they wouldn’t be called feelings.

Arietty blinked when Kath asked if she was okay, she wasn’t used to people asking her how she was doing. Because of her appearance she figured that people just assumed she was always down in the dumbs.

“I’m okay, I guess today has just been….overwhelming.” she said with a sad sigh. “I’m honestly just ready for the day to be over, go grab an iced coffee, a cigarette, and hot food.” When she said cigarette, she dropped the stick and sighed again. She slowly stood, doing her best to rally and get through the rest of the day.

Kath was so sweet, you never would guess she was the type to bite necks, kick balls, and disable teachers (even if it was only temporarily).

“Are you okay?” Ari asked Kath, not to degrade or upset, but to genuinely check on her. “I don’t know what you are going through but I’m sorry you have to go through it.” She gave a small half smile as encouragement.
