Dark Side
A smile crept across Dark Side's lips as she watched the girl approach. She made note of her every movement, from the way she walked right down to the way she removed her masked.

Strategy had always been Izanami's best aspect, which looking at her now is hard to believe. She made sure she knew the best way to victory even among all of the possible variables. She made sure she had secured victory before she even moved.

Her grandfather was the first to notice her skill as he was trying to teach her the game of shogi. She had visited him and sat quietly as he played friends including champions, and figured the four-year-old was interested in learning because of her focus on the game. So there they sat for a couple of hours as they played a couple of matches so she could be familiar with the rules and the flow. When it was time to play the real game the elder Oda sat there with a smug smile,"You know our family never holds back. Do what it takes to ensure victory every time, no matter who it is."

The little girl only nodded as they went on. A little time passed, about 20 minutes and the elder had led his onslaught and was ready to wrap up the game when his eyes shot open in shock. In a blink of an eye, the little girl had won, turning the apparent tides.

"But how?"

She shyly looked to the side worried if she was in trouble, before turning her eyes to her grandfather's face when he demanded,"I remembered every tactic your friends used against you, and how you defended. I knew if I used something from all of 'em, I can get you to do what I want and it just seem like I was doing random moves."

The old man blinked, before he busted out laughing and smiling putting his hand on her head and messying her hair,"You're an Oda indeed. We will begin your training today. You will be jonin by 12, I promise it."

It seemed like the young girl's quirk before had something to do with her mouth, but her posture and stance showed she wasn't much of a fighter, so whatever it was must have been a very damned good trump card for her to not seemed to be too afraid. The problem with a quirk that came from the mouth was that it could have been anything, but the surgical mask implied she was trying to keep something in, or possibly out? When she removed it she didn't seem any mouth deformities, so it wasn't as if she had large teeth or something.

Izanami would have to gamble if it was a long-range quirk she was at a disadvantage so she'd have to hope it was something she could handle. So she ran full speed at the girl, with one hand in front of her prepped to guar, and the other on her side and slightly behind her.

弓美 川口

The expression on her teacher's face made Yami overlook all of the negative thoughts that previously troubled her mind. Now, while she was running purely on her fight-or-flight response, she couldn't- no, wouldn't- scurry off like she normally would have. Her feet were still fixed to the ground. Yami wanted to believe it was out of her own volition and not because of the fear that might have paralyzed her. She could feel Dark Side's gaze picking her apart, and although she normally would've begun imagining what thoughts her teacher might've been having or what it must be like to be ripped to shreds, Yami couldn't think of anything except for what she knew her teacher was going to do next. Initiate the fight, obviously.

That's when she got another sensation. Her nose was twitching.

Clearly, Lady Luck smiled down upon her in a way far different than Dark Side had.

Yami remembered very last time she hurt someone with her quirk vividly. Not too long ago, just another day in junior high, she had been eating her lunch together with a few friends when the spices in her food irritated her nose. She failed to bring her scarf up in time. Next thing she knew, the girls around her were holding their faces in their hands, some yelling, some crying, and others both. It only took twenty seconds for everything to go back as they had before, she had calculated, but it was safe to say that none of them considered Yami their friend afterward. This time, though, it wasn't going to be an accident that she didn't cover her mouth.

She could only see the blur of her teacher speeding towards her before her eyes shut. When she finally sneezed, the air she exhaled came out as a grey gas, forming a cloud around her. Yami began counting in her head.

One. Yami prayed the gas came in contact with her teacher.
Two. She started wondering how her teacher, the supposedly calm and collected Dark Side, was going to react if it had.
Three. The gas dissipated.

Dark Side
Izanami noticed the little girl tilting her head back, and the way she was tensed it was clear she was about to sneeze. That limited the possibilities down to just a handful. It still was a guessing game on what the quirk could do, but one thing was certain if she waited until she had gotten that close the quirk was best at point blank range. It was 50/50, it had to be either some type of liquid or projectile that could only go forward or a gas. Her eyes glowed a weird greenish color thanks to those colored contacts, and then the girl sneezed.

A second or two passed before Izanami tapped the girl on her shoulder since she closed her eyes as she stood there with a shadowy gas mask over her face. The thing about Izanami's quirk was, though she could create and mimic any objects she could not do it to the extent of a Yaoyorozu who could create working electronic items. She could however create mechanical ones with simple machines, but in this case, she just opted for a simple filter (layers of discs with really tiny metal holes that essentially only allowed oxygen through) and goggles that protected her eyes.

Once the gas dissipated, the gas mask on her face turned into shadow smoke before disappearing outright. She nodded to the girl before smiling,"Well done. Next time, wait until your opponent has engaged you so that they don't have time to react. If it means getting hit, then so be it."

She turned from her reaching into the notepad and walking away,"Well looks like that's everyone. Bang-dono and I will discuss the results and inform you of a ranking. Until tomorrow, you all are free to head home, except for those facing detention today. You all will meet in the gym in 30 minutes. Please hydrate and get an energy filled snack. " and with that, she walked off.

The other kids who would be able to leave would go on their way on buses, walking, their parents. Perhaps they would go straight home or rest, or maybe out to eat and get snacks. It'd vary from student to student, but one thing was for sure - their first day at Shiketsu introduced them to a taste of the physical demands.

Izanami, on the other hand, would be preparing the gym for her student's to go through her training. She would be careful and try to push them to their limits, she wouldn't push them too far but she'd do her best to remember that this punishment was something they didn't want to deal with daily.

Johanna
She was a little taken aback when the girl had hugged her and agreed to join her pack. A large smile grew across her face before she looked at the girl. This would be the second friend she made since she's been in Japan so she nodded happily, "Ok. I, uh. We can hang out later or something. " she spoke as the girl walked away to check on Arietty. Even after Kath had broken their hug and moved away, Johanna was still squatting and still smiling before looking down at her hands.

"Friends," she whispered gently to herself, before nodding and standing to her feet. When she looked up, it was the completion of the last fight as their teacher announced that students who were not being punished could leave for the day. It was a bit of a disappointment for the wolf girl, she wanted to make more friends but maybe it wasn't so bad after all. Maybe she could convince enough of them to come to eat.

"Hey! Since we have the day ahead of us, how about we um. Get some food or something, yeah?" she asked loud enough for all of the students to hear,"Maybe get to know each other since we're classmates?" Johanna's smile was warm as she looked at everyone around her. She had never been used to a class size like this. Her entire like her class size was small, ranging from 5 to 20 depending on what family had moved in or out. 20 people in a whole grade, meant that it was hard to do things without others knowing and a lot of friendships blew up.

She never had trouble making friends, but she only had a couple of her loyal friends. Friends who didn't mind that she was a wolf-girl, and didn't try to take advantage of her quirk whether they had one or not. Her parents had always taught her that being nice to people is the best way to live life, so all of her life that's all she did.

Yuuta was already packing up. He put one of his gadgets on a bag pocket, and one in his pocket, just in case. He sighed in relief as the day was finally over. He recalled everything that happened... The overwhelming presence of Master Bang, his fight with Dark Side-sensei, and also that one moment when... He helped Kath with something. He instinctively looked around and as he caught a glimpse of her, he looked back to his bag, trying to act as if nothing happened. A faint blush is visible on his face. "It's nothing! It's just something that I helped her with! It's not much of a big deal! Haha..." He muttered, trying to calm himself down.

With that aside, he wasn't sure if he can survive one more day with Master Bang, much less a whole year. Is he even going to get used to his presence? He threw that thought off and admitted that whatever happens, he should just go with it. Yuu picked up his bag and joined in the circle his classmates have formed. He saw the cat, or wolf, or fox girl... Well, anyway, the girl stood out from the center of the circle, and she suggested that whoever wanted to come with her, they'd hang out together or something. Yuu, being the person that he is, couldn't possibly reject that offer.

"Suuureee! I'm down for it!" He raised his hand.

Impulse

Was class dismissed already? It must have been the testing sessions that had done it. In addition to that, it was the first day of classes. Students were rarely forced to sit through a full school day when it was the first day back from summer break. This was no different. Jono placed his cell phone into his back pocket before looking up at Izanami. She had confirmed a fear of his when she mentioned that the class would be ranked. Jono thought a rating would have been more than sufficient. This was disappointing.

The teen turned away immediately after class had ended, Johanna’s voice shouting out behind him. She was addressing the class in attempts to gather everyone together. She figured that people could get to know one another since they were all stuck in the same class as Bang. The thought was nice, but… Well, the thought wasn’t even nice. That wasn’t Jono’s scene at all. Instead of bothering to say anything, he continued walking until he got outside of the school’s gates.

No bus, or ride. Jono was fine walking. He needed some time to cool off.

Johanna, in the short amount of time that Jono had known her, had been easily adaptable in social situations. She had proven it time and time again. In addition to this, despite Jono’s normally standoffish nature, she was so good at making friends that she even convinced him to get out of his house. That was a feat within itself. Jono continued walking down the sidewalk after a quick right, traversing down that busy street, avoiding run-ins with people who had been going about their daily business. There were a few places to eat, various convenience stores, speciality and tourist stores along the way.

Even though Jono was starving, he passed over them all. Part of it was that they weren’t the best places to eat in the city; the other part was that he didn’t want to risk having to interact with any other students who might have been in the area. When he was far enough from the academy, Jono stopped walking to pull a cigarette from his bag and place it between his lips. After igniting the opposite end with a lighter, Jono continued on his way - leaving a brief, small trail of smoke in his wake.

He was going to be humiliated in front of the entire class tomorrow. That meant that Johanna would see it. Rocky and Daraka with their power-first quirks would see it. Every single other person in the class who showed up with their quirks... Most importantly, Arietty. Some of the fights were just as bad as his. That would be Jono’s only saving grace. If somehow, Izanami or Bang felt as though other students participated even worse than he did, he would get sufficient cushion in the rankings to not be looked down upon. At least they all showed off their quirks; Jono didn’t have much to offer aside from his inventions.

Jono crossed the street, dodging the cars in near bumper-to-bumper traffic before making his way to a small hole-in-the-wall type Ramen shop. It had a bar with a few benches, some minor decorations and that was it. There were two others there; an older woman and her husband. Jono sat at the opposite end of the bar before removing a small amount of Yen coins from his pocket and placing it on the table.

“Beef Sukiyaki, please. No onions.” Jono offered a small, close-lipped smile. The old lady behind the counter nodded her head at Jono’s request before turning from him to begin preparing his meal.

The cherry of his cigarette ignited with a drag, burning more of the paper around it in the process. Smoke slowly billowed out from Jono's nostrils as his index and thumb fingers moved up to remove the cigarette from his lips. His free hand grabbed his phone out of his pocket; the teen only had to fidget slightly before the depths of his pants released the cellular device from its clutches.

Felix "Ninth Life"
The tests were finished and Felix had grown quite bored from sitting on the side lines, something that had never sat well for him. He was the type to get involved, willing to get his paws dirty if he had too. But, he had learned something today: he was a lot weaker than he thought. Every one of his peers was a welcome adversary, even that filthy mutt he would never give the credit to call her a potential rival, but in reality, she seemed quite capable. One thing was certain, he had something to learn from everyone.

He had listened into Johanna, talking some sappy shit with her new friends. It seemed she was a natural charismatic and Felix needed to step up his game, he was going to need allies going forth. Friends of today were potential business partners in the future after all. He climbed up a nearby tree and beckoned to the crowd of students.

"Hey, you can go get something boring to eat with that stinky mutt, or you can fetch a couple of burgers with me? How about it, anyone?" Felix would call out, using a voice that all but the deaf could hear clearly. He would don a catchy smile, balancing himself against the tree's trunk. He tried to make eye contact with some of the quieter student who had not associated with any group yet, they were the most likely to bite.

You come to comfort someone, and they end up comforting you. Ridiculous.> That little voice that always has the last word in your head commented on mine. Still... sad as it looked, it was better to see Arietty smile at least. Regardless of the idea of somehow becoming even shorter beign a rather frightening one.

Arietty went on to confess that the say was just being a bit too much for her, she pleaded for an ice coffee, a cigarette and some hot food, and against my better judgement I couldn't help but giggle a bit at her humble requests.

"Ice coffee and hot food? Are hot or are you cold Ari? Hehe. Ah, sorry, sorry.." I waved my hand in front of me, then took a seat next to her. From the looks of it, this last fight had some girl with a gas quirk that was released when the girl let out this cute sneeze. The sudden smoke reminded me of what Ari said about a cigarette and how she had a stick in her mouth earlier. Was she pretending to smoke? Out of curiosity, I too took a stick from the ground and put it in my mouth, then immediately proceeded to cough as I had just gotten dirt on my mouth. Despite the kinds of things I had to bite because of my quirk, I still wasn't too comfortable with dust, sand or dirt, which entered my mouth and all of that.

After clearing my throat I simply stared at the stick for a bit.

"A cigarette huh..." I recalled at one point thinking about maybe trying to get into smoking. At the time, I thought it was really cool, in fact part of me still did. Though now it'd probably be like a decade before I was even legally allowed to touch a lit cigarette. Out of nowhere, seemingly, Ari asked me if I was ok, perhaps still referring to that moment before. I witnessed that last student getting defeated, then looked up to the sky. "I'm...I'm not ready yet. But I'll tell you about it someday, I promise."

We were once again interrupted, as class was over. The teacher decided to let everyone go home and I was a bit frustrated to know I couldn't yet, since I had punishment to attend. I also knew it was by my choice though, which didn't make me feel better at all, but somehow knowing that was because I punched an old jerk in the nuts did help. I was grining at the thought as I got up.

"We'll talk some other time, alright? I have to go check on how they deal with mean girls now." I [div class=tongueword]stuck a tongue out for Ari[/div], then did the best I could to wipe the grin off my face as I headed to Dark Side. We were told to go get ourselves some food and hydrate, so we had to go to the caffeteria. My heart was already pumping as this felt like the calm before the storm. We had been told we didn't want to mess with miss Dark Side, but not actually told what she'd do, and this oddly kind gesture of hers was almost...discomforting. Still, with nothing else to do and being a pretty fast eater for my size, I decided to strike a conversation with the ones accompanying me:

"You had a worthy first battle, cousin. Had it been a fair match, I have no doubt you would have won." I complemented Rocky, then faced his adversary. "And you...Daraka was it? I can't deny your speed was impressive even if you foolishly picked a fight with my family. How does it feel to have all those scales stored inside you?"

I was relieved, though, as at the very least I was not seeing Runa here. Maybe the old geezer had some hero qualities at all after all.

Arietty

Hot or Cold Kath had asked her. Ari wanted to laugh, wasn't that the question? She was always back and forth, happy and sad, motivated and hopeless, frustrated and infatuated.

"You can tell me whenever you are ready Kiki, there's no rush. We all have our stories you know?" Ari gave the girl a half smile as she left for detention. What a spunky girl, Ari liked her a lot.

"Don't let Miss Dark Side work you too hard!" Arietty called after her.

With her her friend off to detention that meant that now class had dismissed, Ari would be totally alone. Like usual. Johanna made an offer for everyone to go hang out with her after class and she actually thought about accepting, but what would be the point? No one wanted her there, especially not Johanna, who had just barred her teeth at her. She barely knew Felix. She knew no one else in the class. Who would even want her around anyway? A Debbie downer to sit in the back and bring down the vibe? Not likely, she would just go home, curl up in her bed, blare some tunes and maybe sketch? Something to clear her mind, she had a lot to think about.

The fights today showed her how much potential her class really had. Some were more combative than others for sure. One guy turned into a fucking Dragon, another guy had the power to harden his body like a rock. There were mutant quirks like wolves and cats. That one really sweet redheaded girl sneezed pepper spray. They were all SO cool. Even Jono who as far as she knew wasn’t a super confident fighter had fought his heart out. She was so proud of him. What had she done? She wasn’t able to throw one punch, and her teacher was so disgusted with her quirk she backed away without fighting her at all.

Ari was a disgrace. She had always known it, her mother knew it, her father must have seen it years ago because he left before Ari even could remember what he looked like. So she deserved to be alone, no friends, no family, no Jono.

Jono. Why were her thoughts always with him? The heartbreak was recent, and raw, and real. An open wound on her heart that ached with every beat, but he wasn’t coming back, why would he? Ari needed to just accept it and move on. He was gone, he didn’t want her, and she couldn’t blame him. She was stupid for opening herself to him like she did. She was comfortable touching him, letting her emotions flow through both of them like a gentle breeze, and he never thought she was weird. He never shied away from her, even though he knew that it meant being open with her. She shouldn’t have…

No. She didn’t regret it, not even a little bit. It hurt, god it hurt to lose that kind of connection, but Arietty wouldn’t take it back for anything. Even though she said as much during their fight. She’d give anything to even just be able to be his friend. Like Johanna, who Ari couldn’t help but let the envy pour putrid green poison in her heart when she thought about. She was so nice, it was no wonder Kath liked her, why Jono liked her. Ari would probably like her too if she could just…let go.

She slipped away from the crowd and headed off campus, once she was far enough away she felt in her jacket pocket for her pack of cigarettes and her lighter. They weren’t allowed on campus, but as long as she didn’t pull the out in front of anyone she knew she’d be safe. She gave her lighter a few flicks and held it to the cigarette she had already put in her mouth, it glowed cherry red and filled her lungs with smoke and her soul with relief. She looked up and saw Jono doing almost the same thing as he walked and she smiled a little. Still Jono, even if he seemed to be in a bit of a mood, she didn’t need to touch him to see that.

He was pretty hard on himself, she thought. He did much better than he probably thought he did, better than her by far. It had taken everything in her to not go check on him after the fight. Every blow hit her too, and when the blood was drawn she felt like the air had been sucked out of her lungs. But she couldn’t check on him. Johanna had though, she reminded herself.
‘Stop that” she chided herself. ‘This girl has done absolutely nothing wrong. Are you okay with hating someone for being nice to someone you care about?’ Ari sighed as she walked through town trying to find a bite to eat before she started the walk home. It wasn’t too late to quit hero school, but something immediately shut that idea down. She was here to grow.
She stopped at the café closest to the school as she finished her smoke. She snuggled into a chair at a small table by herself and ordered a coffee and sandwich. She rubbed her temples and took a breath. It was over, she made it through. Take it one day at a time, she thought. That is really all you can do. You got through this, you can do it again. She pulled open her phone and brought up one of the many e-books she currently reading and put in her headphones.

Solitude. Arietty would do her best to continue to pretend she preferred it this way.

Johanna
She clapped her hands together when Yuuta stepped up and agreed to go out with her,"Yay. That's awesome," she started rubbing her chin before her stomach interrupted her with a growl. Right. She had overslept that morning and didn't really get to eat Breakfast so she was starving at this point. Particularly because of the physical activity a little earlier, where she had exerted a lot of her strength to catapult herself as hard as she did. It was the only thing that allowed her to get a hit on Bang, which she subconsciously smirked about because she was proud of herself for that.

She rubbed her stomach a little bit before looking to Yuuta,"Ok, well I'm sure there's a cafe nearby or something because I'm starving." When Felix spoke up she scoffed a bit, before deciding to take the high road like her mother had always taught her,"Well if you want to get burgers with Felix, that's fine. We're going to head to a nearby cafe, so just follow us if that's what you're into." she spoke with a bright warm smile before turning her attention to Yuuta,"I'm Johanna by the way, I think I heard Dark Side-sensei say you're, Yuuta? "

Johanna slid her coat off because of the one arms being ripped and slung it over her right shoulder gripping it by her fingers as she began to walk towards the gates. As she passed Felix she rose her left hand and with a bright smile and warm voice spoke,"Ja ne."

A quick walk through the city would be all it took before they reached the nearest cafe, and Johanna stopped in front of it to take it in. She was pretty sure she hadn't eaten at this one before, so she was glad it was a chance to experience something new with a friend. Well, new for her. She moved inside but paused when a familiar scent her nose, and she turned her attention to where Arietty was sitting. Turning to Yuuta (and whoever else had followed) she pointed at a table for enough people,"Hey do you mind grabbing that table for us? I'll be back."

She didn't really give him a chance to answer before going up to Arietty and slinging her arm over her shoulder,"Ohayouuuuu." she dragged out before with a bright smile,"Come on don't be a loner, you can join my pack too! Let's have lunch...breakfast? Brunch together over there with the others!"

Yami Kawaguchi
弓美 川口

In dramatic fashion, a green glow was the last thing Yami saw before her sneeze, but when she felt a tap on her shoulder- geez, her shoulders were going through a lot today-, she opened her eyes again. Dark Side had a black-ish, shadowy mask covering her face. She was protected from Yami's quirk. Oh no, oh dear. When both Yami's gas and her teacher's mask dissipated, the latter in smoke, she was prepared to either be chewed out for her useless attempt or be beaten to a pulp, or perhaps both. Instead, she saw a smile cross over Dark Side's features, one much better, much friendlier, than the one she received earlier.

"Well done. Next time, wait until your opponent has engaged you so that they don't have time to react. If it means getting hit, so be it."

Yami nodded with such vigor that her head felt like it was going to fall off. What her teacher said seemed obvious now that she thought about it, and she'd be sure to take the advice to heart. Yami watched as her teacher crossed her name off the list- hooray!- before strolling back to the crowd of students like she received a badge of honor. She passed! The only thing she really did was sneeze, but she passed nonetheless. It made her ecstatic and almost, almost made her pumped about the prospects of being a hero. The only thing that really concerned her was the rankings, but with the way adrenaline was running through her veins, it didn't worry her as much as it usually would.

Her teacher announced that their classes were done for the day, and the only people who needed to stick around were those in detention, the family of three and Dragon-boy. Yami couldn't help but feel sorry for them, considering the fact that their overseer would be Dark Side. There was nothing she could do to save them, though, so she waltzed towards Bane, Akane, with a grin. It faltered slightly when she realized she'd be expected back home. She was still sick, after all, and it'd be rude to go to an outing and spread it to everyone.

So, when Wolf-girl, Johanna, announced that she wanted to get food with her classmates, Yami was tempted to decline, but Wolf-girl's invitation was too good to dismiss. She was starving, after all. Yami turned to face Bane and paused, since she thought Arietty was at his side just seconds earlier, or at least near him. She supposed the girl was too hungry to wait for anyone else, and while she was still bummed, she decided that if she saw Arietty again, either later that day or in class the next, she'd ask to join her for lunch. It was unusual for Yami to do such a thing, but she thought it'd be worth it.

Another proposition was struck, though, this one by Cat-boy and his loud, scratchy voice. He seemed vulgar, at least moreso than Wolf-girl and the green-haired boy, the same one from earlier, who was going with her, so Yami decided she'd be better off with the girl.

She thought to be polite and asked Bane, "Can we go with them?" Yami, however, didn't wait for a response and chased after the two (and others). "I'll be joining, if that's okay," she said when she had reached them at the gates. She offered a slight wave to Cat-boy, similarly to how Wolf-girl did, and continued through the city and towards the nearest cafe. The boisterous Wolf-girl took in the sight, and Yami wondered whether she had been visited the area before. She was obviously a foreigner, evident from her accent and actions, and Yami planned to ask her about it later.

"Hey, do you mind grabbing that table for us? I'll be back." Yami glanced over to where Wolf-girl had rushed to and saw the girl she'd been thinking about prior, Arietty, sitting down all lonesome. She would've asked to join her, if she hadn't thought Wolf-girl would do the same, so she parked herself at the table the girl had pointed towards and decided to try to make conversation with the green-haired boy. She blanked, unsure of what to say, so she finally just blurted out, "You have a cool quirk! I mean, like.. the wires and stuff. You can, uhh.. do a lot with it."

Yuu nodded at the wolf-girl's suggestion to go at a cafe. She indicated that she was hungry, and the cafe is mostly the place for desserts. He didn't object since he was currently in the mood to go to eat a cheesecake or something. The wolf-girl then introduced herself as Johanna. "I'm Yuuta, but you can just call me Yuu." He followed Johanna outside the gates of the school. They walked through the city, without saying a single word. If this walk would take longer, he had to initiate a conversation to eliminate the awkwardness.

But not long after that, they finally arrived at the cafe. "This looks new to me." He muttered. They entered the building, and he saw a familiar face. The blue-haired winner girl, Arietty, if he could remember was Dark Side-sensei had said, was sitting lonely in a table. Yuuta was about to suggest joining her until Johanna asked him to sit at a table that would be enough for them. Considering his impression to the wolf-girl, she'd invite her to join them. He did what Johanna had asked her, and finally sat on the chair, setting his bag below the table.

Yuuta was looking at the window, trying to relax until he heard a familiar voice in front of him. He almost jumped as a red-haired girl was sitting in front of him. Has she been following us all along? I didn't notice her at first. He ignored the thought and responded back to her, "Oh, um, thanks! I'm actually having a hard time controlling my quirk, so I use this little gadget that I attach to the back of my hands and to my fingers." He put out his gadget from his bag pocket and showed the little gadget to the girl. "I'm Yuuta, but you can call me Yuu. What's your name?" He asked.

Rock was told by Master Bang to be here for detention, but there were only him and Kiki. Though he didn't want to, Rock decided to stay and wait for his teacher instead of wandering around. Another reason was he wanted to sit with Kiki for a while, he hadn't many opportunity to catch up with her ever since the entrance exam.

"- Hi cuz." - Rock said as he sat next to his cousin.

He smiled slightly hearing what his cousin said. He was pleased to hear such encouragement from Kiki. For such a long time being close to the Ishikawa family, she knew how much Rock wanted to win, again anybody he fought. But despite what she said, Rock knew that based on both skill and experience, there was no way he could've compared to Master Bang.

"- Are you hurt bad, Kiki ?"

Rock said before taking a closer look at his cousin again, checking if she had any severe injury. Though Rock was the first to fight and manage to catch Master Bang off guard, it was really Kath who did the most damage.

"- You wanna talk about me ?" - Rock giggled - "- You did a beautiful work on him, the best out of all of us, sent him home. I bet you'll be popular for the whole year for that."

Yami stared at the gizmo he pulled out of his bag in awe. Since she wasn't very tech-savvy, she had absolutely no idea how it worked, but she wondered if maybe, just maybe, she should get something like it to help her in the future. Although, she wasn't entirely sure what she'd try for. Maybe some sort of mask, or maybe something that could help her direct her breath? Yami imagined holding a long tube to her lips and expelling the gas, and honestly, her interest peaked.

There was that kid from earlier, Jono- uh, Mono. He seemed to have a lot of cool devices, possibly homemade. Perhaps she'd ask him later, or maybe she could ask her classmate in front of her.

"Wow!" She exclaimed, reaching over the table to get a good look at it. "Ah, that's really neat! Kinda like claws, huh?" Realizing how outlandish she was acting, Yami planted herself back in her seat and with rosy cheeks, let out an awkward cough. "Did you make it yourself?" She asked. Yami paused, her head straightening as she thought up another, more important question. "Can you use them as sutures?"

"I'm Yuuta, but you can call me Yuu. What's your name?" He asked afterward. She answered without thinking, "Yami, but you can call me.." Her expression became deadpan. Sometimes, she genuinely wished she had a self-destruct button as a quirk. She looked towards the ceiling and tried to think of some cool nickname she could give herself. Nothing. "Uh, Yami."

Daraka Onogumo

Daraka concluded his conversation with their Headmaster in the typical way, teenage angst at its finest. Walking towards the group that remained after class for their punishment, Daraka spit through his teeth in frustration. Still standing there shirtless, considering no one had provided him with a new change of clothes, to be honest this was far more comfortable. Daraka was not scared, G.Dragon had put him into a strict training regimen since he was a child. It was more of the time wasting going on, when he could be home.

“so annoying...let’s get this over with.”
Daraka begins stretching out, this had the possibility of being a very grueling expierence. Thinking of what Rocky had said earlier about the song witch, the sharp fangs showed in a grin with his jab at his friend. “Didnt take long for her to turn your brains to mush....oh wait you don’t got any haha” Little Katherine had some questions about his abilities. Which the truth was, he’d been shifting forms since as long as he could remember. It was more of a native instinct than anything else. “Think of it this way kid, just like a tiger has the instinct to hunt. My shifting was ingrained in me thru my quirk. I will the form to come and it does....it’s like being enveloped in a warm coat but all over.”

Daraka was dumbing it down alittle for Katherine, it was more like a crawling goosebump feeling that would start from the small of his back, until it was covering his entire body. When it would seem like the goosebumps would never go away, they settle and he feels the strength that comes with the form.

"Uh, sure." He plainly said as the red-haired girl introduced herself as Yami. No one has ever asked him anything relating to his quirk, so he was eager to answer her questions. "Yeah. I can sometimes use this as claws for close combat." He answered her first question. But, he doesn't use it very often. The metal made from it is thin, so overusing it in a period of time can render it unusable.

"And, I didn't make this myself. My dad made this for me."
He answered her second question confidently. But, honestly, he didn't even know how his dad made it. Maybe from observation and expertise? Anyway, ever since he received this gadget, he's been able to use his quirk efficiently.

And finally, he answered her third question. "I don't think so. Even though my wires are more flexible than the normal retail wire, it's brittle and durable. Like our bones." It would've been hard to explain if he didn't compare it with bones.

"How about you? What's your quirk?" Even though Yuu had seen her quirk in action, it wasn't enough for him to completely know what it was.

"A warm coat you say? I guess that is nothing like my overlap then." The sensation for me was a little different. Granted, being the one that possessed the quirk, the sensation that I felt as I got overlap was bound to be different from that of others,as evidenced by how much easier and more stable it was to overlap my own body versus the troubling feat of trying to get other organic matter in overlap. Still, to me it felt more like pushed by tiny fingers, like some minuscule newborn probing me with their little fingers from all sides, of whatever part was storing or overlapping at once. Then something dawned on me, and I found myself [div class=poutword]pouting[/div] and turning away from the dragon boy. "And don't call me a kid! I may not look like it, but I'll tell you now that I'm 17!... mentally... Aah, in any case, my name is Katherine-Corula Zweihild Von Kleinerheld. You may adress me as Katherine, Kath or Von Kleinerheld. Take your pick. "Kid" is not an option. got it?"

I soon moved on from that conversation with the dragon boy to have a bit of a more peaceful time with my cousin before our punishment. Already I had gulped down those pre-cooked meals they served us at that hour, leaving only a little bit on the plate for the sake of appearances...and also because because I hated green beans.

I was about to shake my head no when my cousin suddenly leaned on me, presumably to check for potential injuries. I pulled back a little at this.

"Ah, I'm fine, I'm fine!" I answered, [div class=waveword]waving my hands in front of my face[/div]. "He pretty much hit me where I was expecting to get hit, so I was ready."

But it was true, I might have gotten pummeled too if not for my precautions before the match. Such thoughts were interrupted by Rocky's giggle and his statement that I did better and might even be popular the whole year over it. My expression grew far more serious.

"I don't really care about being popular. You know why I came here cousin, why I chose to become a hero, we talked about this: I'll make her dream come true." As if to emphasize those words, I stabbed the last bit of non-green-food on my plate with my fork, and chugged it into my mouth.

Yasugai was conflicted. Just when he'd been doing so well in his studies in Class B, the administration had offered him a transfer to Class A. And, of course, he had accepted it. Who wouldn't have? But, in the back of his mind, he wasn't all that sure it had been the right move. Furthermore, he couldn't help but let his insecurities foolishly believe it was some sort of plot by the staff to sabotage him and send him packing because they thought he was useless and weak. Still, he knew such an idea was far-fetched. And, holding the transfer papers in his hand and reading over them as he exited the building, he only really had himself to blame for accepting the transfer in the first place. So everything from here on out was up to him... right?

The pink-haired youth stopped when he heard a loud voice call out from atop a tree. It seemed to be one of the students Yasu would be taking classes with very soon, asking if anybody wanted to come along and have burgers. Yasu saw most of the crowd disperse along with a wolf-like girl. He spotted Arietty slipping away from the crowd, too, and took an instinctive step towards her. But he stopped. He hadn't seen his old friend in person since their childhood days. And, although they kept a reliable correspondence with each other, he had yet to tell her that he'd moved to the same town as her. A part of him wanted to surprise her. Another was self-conscious about how much he'd changed in appearance since they'd last seen each other. He honestly knew better, but maybe she wouldn't want to associate with a socially weird pink-haired boy in front of her classmates...

He watched as his friend disappeared around a corner, a tinge of sadness and immediate regret in his eyes. But then he inevitably turned his attention back to the tree-climbing boy, realizing he'd been left alone. Blinking, Yasu shook his head and worked up the courage to step forward. He folded his transfer papers sideways as he approached, offering a meek wave if he managed to catch the boy's attention before coming to a stop a few meters from the tree. "G-Good evening. My name is Yasugai Yamashita. I, um... I just transferred to this class today." He spoke, his voice smooth despite the stutter and hesitation in it. Holding up his folded transfer papers for the other student to see, he offered a hint of a smile that was wracked with nervousness. He lowered his hand and the transfer papers clutched in it, abashedly shifting his gaze elsewhere. "Um... I'm a bit hungry, so... if you want someone to eat burgers with... I guess I could go. If, um... i-if you want."

Arietty

Arietty looked up and saw as Johanna and a few others poured into her cafe. She took a deep breath and busied herself further into her book. That is what she got, she supposed, for eating at the cafe closest to the school. Darn her and her coffee addiction, she really should have just waited till she got back home. Cheaper and less likely to have to make her face all the feelings she had been harboring toward Johanna. She put her head down immediately as she heard Johanna tell the others to grab them a table.

This caused her not to see Johanna slink in and put her arm around Ari. Ari jumped, she wasn't used to physical contact. In fact, Ari often avoided touching anyone in general, it was too likely to spark her quirk and that wasn't something Arietty liked describing to strangers. She froze, worried there would be transfer right then and there, but luckily the baggy hoodie around her was enough protection from skin contact. Ari pulled out her headphones and looked to the wolf-girl.

"Ohayouuuuu. Come on don't be a loner, you can join my pack too! Let's have lunch...breakfast? Brunch together over there with the others!" Johanna greeted her.

"Oh uh..." Ari stumbled, trying to find a good excuse to not do this. 'I have work tonight? I've already ordered? You became friends with my boyfriend right before he dumped me and I'm not sure how to friends with you or even resolve those feelings enough to converse with you in any meaningful way?' Ari thought, going through all the different reasons she could avoid this interaction, but she looked into Johanna's big literal puppy dog eyes and resigned.

"Okay," she said softly. "I can do that, let me just grab my food and I'll be right over." she said with a weak smile.

'What are you doing?' she thought bitterly. 'This is a mistake. We want these people to like you.' She went against her better judgment over to the table that Johanna and her friends were sitting at and awkwardly waved.

"Um hi," she said softly, hands in the front pockets of her hoodie.

Riyo Shinoku- The Lotus Tennin

Screwed. She was screwed. If there were any word in the world that could describe Riyo's predicament, you too would be saying she's screwed. Very very screwed. As Riyo's leg muscles were clocking back and forth like the mechanism it was, she was launching herself across the busy street as fast as humanly possible. For her of course. There was almost no way Riyo was going to make it on time, let alone survive whatever was going to happen to her once on campus, but the girl , unlike literally anyone else if they were in the same situation, had hope. Hope for what? Probably that she wasn't going to get instantly found and killed by the teachers on sight when she got to campus. It was literally her first day, and Riyo skipped school like any other hoodlum would. But it was her complete choice.

If there was any karma on the surface of the earth, it was literally tormenting Riyo and provoking the anger of the school gods onto her. While the young student sprinted as fast as her body could carry her, she thought of excuses to get her through,"Sorry, I had to take care of my sick family." Too lame,"I do apologize great teacher, you see, my family is bed ridden today. They can't move any longer and I must take care of them." Too... extra? In the end, Riyo knew she had to take this by the horns and face the music.

When she finally got to the school, it was already over. She was too late, damn it karma! Riyo sighed walking into the school, she felt so shameful, but also proud. Proud that, she stayed home and took care of her family instead of going out and leaving her sick family alone. She walked to the front desk,"Excuse me? Where's detention?" After getting her directions, and a map of the school. Riyo eventually found her way to the gym. If she were anyone else, Riyo would probably be miles away from the school doing whatever, but sending herself to detention was her way of disciplining herself for quite literally skipping school. In the hero world, there are no excuses. As the teen walked in, it didn't seem like there was anyone else around, fishy. Riyo was on her guard somewhat slowly, but surely she knew there was no preparing for whatever was about to happen.

Johanna
She was overjoyed when Ari had agreed to join them for Brunch, though she could tell she was a bit hesitant. She couldn't understand why, unless Jono had said bad things about her behind her back, but she wouldn't let her distract her from the fact she had completed her goal,"Good. As the Alpha, I can't enjoy myself until everyone in the pack is enjoying themselves." she said with a good smile as she looked back to where she had told Yuuta to grab the table blinking a few times when she noticed Yami had also joined. She must have been in one of those sensory overload tunnel vision moments she seemed to have here in Japan still not being used to processing all of the different inputs of the tonnes of people. At least this time she didn't freak out about it all. She was slowly but surely getting used to it.

She looked back when she said she'd be a moment and nodded before breaking her contact with her and going back to the table and sitting down. She glanced over at Yami and tried to remember her name by what Dark Side had called her. She rubbed her chin before nodding,"Yamu!" she shouted her dialect changing the girl's name a bit. It couldn't be helped and it wasn't even something that she notices half the time, considering a lot of the cashiers and other customer service representatives understood the dialect well enough or could draw context clues that when she was asking about 'food', though she said shushu, she meant sushi and not soot.

She shrugged her shoulders and looked at the menu gently before nodding to herself. There was a decent blend of western and Japanese food, but Johanna was on a Japanese food bender. Her mother didn't cook it all that often, and when she did it was dishes more so found in the country. When her eyes landed on one particular appetizing sandwich she swooned a bit,"Chikcen Katsu onugurazu? It sounds sooooo good...." she muttered with a bit of a sigh before smiling. Because it was a cafe its menu was shrunk a little compared to a full restaurant and added fancier things and desserts in. This would be a problem for Johanna because she had to eat a LOT at once in order to keep her metabolism satisfied,"ay ay ay....It's so expensive..." she muttered fake caring because she knew she had her grandfather's credit card, but she still never forgot she didn't grow up wealthiest.

She smiled and looked to Yami,"Oh YAMU, you did good! I bet if Sensei couldn't create stuff you would have gotten her. Same for you Aruetty!" she smiled looking back at the menu before nodding. They had something to satiate her appetite - she'd just order a whole fish raw and a couple orders of the onigirazu and be on her merry little way. "Sorry about your fight Yuuta, you'll get them next time!"

Dark Side

"Shinoku Ryo," came a voice from an indiscernible direction from an unknown person,"Quirk: Lotus Bloom." The voice continued before from the shadows appeared a woman a couple stories high, seemingly floating in the air surrounded by nothing but darkness. She seemed to be standing one foot, her right, as her left lifted up next to it. The woman was Dark Side, with her hair now in a single braid running down her back. Her attire had switched from her professor outfit to a black sports braw and black compression pants (athletic leggings) but she wore no socks or shoes. Many of her scars that were on her arms and abdomen were visible, but so was her muscle definition -which seemed to be extremely defined for such a small woman.

Her signature blank stare looked from her high position before closing her eyes,"Let me start by saying, I hope everything is fine. You being here at least means whatever caused you to miss class isn't dire. However, I genuinely don't care what it is. Heroes make hard choices all of the time, that often end up with us in trouble. But we are not higher than laws or rules just because we are heroes. So whether you are here on purpose or not is inconsequential. You shall receive your punishment for being late and missing class just like anyone would. "

A few seconds would pass before she opened her eyes,"Unfortunately I still need to test you, so you won't be facing the same punishment as the others. Instead, you will be facing me in a battle, but I will not be holding back like earlier since you were late. I'm sure this will be punishment enough." Finally the darkness would dissipate into a cloud of black smoke, giving way to the light and the rest of the abnormally large gym. It also revealed that Dark Side had been standing on a small pole, no larger than three centimetres in diameter, perfectly balanced on essentially one toe.

She flipped forward off of the pole landing on the same right leg, before setting her left foot down. She cracked her knuckles a bit before cracking her neck,"I've not taken a fight serious in a while, so this should be fun for one of us."

Ah, good. Yuu- did he say Shoe?- wasn't put-off by her phrasing like she thought he would, or at least he didn't seem to be. He answered her barrage of questions individually, and Yami sat thoroughly engaged with what he had to say. "Yeah. I can sometimes use this as claws for close combat." She eyed his contraption again, truly amazed. His quirk seemed to have so many uses, even if she came up with half of them off the top of her head, and she began to envy him. It wasn't as if his only viable way to use his quirk to its full potential was to harm people, not like Yami.

She decided she'd have to pay attention the next time he used his quirk.

"And, I didn't make this myself. My dad made this for me." Yami noted a change in tone, a positive one, and a smile formed on her face. He must be proud of his father, like she was of hers. "Mhm, your dad must be pretty cool, then!"

She was a bit disappointed with the answer of his last question, considering the fact that sutures would be helpful in the future, and especially in rescue situations. "I don't think so. Even though my wires are more flexible than the normal retail wires, it's brittle and durable. Like our bones." Yami nodded. She had read through enough anatomy books, both to learn about the capabilities of her quirk and to impress her father, to understand the connection Shoe made.

"How about you? What's your quirk?"

Yami glanced anywhere besides Shoe's face, trying to find any way possible to avoid the question. Lady Luck must have really liked her today because Wolf-girl returned to the table. She was unnerved by the gaze the girl gave her but understood after hearing her name, or what sounded like her name, that Wolf-girl was just trying to remember her. Yami blinked a few times and pointed towards herself as if in question. A few seconds passed, and her mouth moved to form an 'O.' Yamu meant Yami, obviously. She didn't bother to correct her and instead just nodded. When Arietty joined them, Yami gave her a polite wave, a small grin on her face. Now, she wouldn't have to ask Arietty herself- which was great because otherwise, she would've needed a lot of hyping up.

She glanced over at the menu on the table, although not sure whether she found anything appetizing or not, not even the onigirazu Wolf-girl found. Besides, it wasn't as if her pockets were filled. Like Wolf-girl said, the cafe was far too expensive. Yami's eyes widened, and she started patting herself and her bag down. Her grin from before drooped, and her chest heaved with a sigh. She had forgotten her wallet at home, but judging by the bulge in her bag's front pocket, she still had her American hot sauce. Yami would have to wait until she got home to eat, then.

Her mood shifted when Wolf-girl brought attention to her. She smiled and said, "Oh YAMU, you did good! I bet if Sensei couldn't create stuff you would have gotten her. Same for you Aruetty!" After a few seconds, she added, "Sorry about your fight Yuuta, you'll get them next time!"

Yami's face went beet red- for what, the third time today? She hid her mouth, still uncovered by her mask, with her hands. Did her classmate really think that? If she wasn't surrounded by people, she might've cried tears of joy. "T-Thank you!"

Riyo Shinoku- The Lotus Tennin

Riyo's guard was still up, with an expression one would say was fairly blank. The instant she heard noise, Riyo immediately looked in the general direction she heard the voice from. Up? Riyo's head was at an angle still not sure where this probably woman was. That was until the shadows revealed her with one single braid behind her standing on a single foot several stories high. Riyo focused more to see the woman's body and realized how scarred, yet defined her body was. Impressive. Finally registering her name being called along with her quirk, Riyo became sure that the woman before her was in fact her teacher. At least one of them.

The professor's face was blank, as well as Riyo's mimicking the exact same face without fail. She watched as the woman's eyes closed like a blanket softly covering up a small animal, and Riyo closed her eyes too beginning to listen to her words. What the teacher had said, was in fact, not anywhere close to what the pupil was thinking she'd say, but she fully accepted it as it was better than she thought was going to happen. After the long pause, Riyo opened her eyes which were met by the teachers. She still had to test her. Fine. Not holding back? Riyo stared directly through her new opponent's eyes to show no fear, and relaxed her body. Those were the first things to do. A relaxed body is better at taking damage and fighting.

As the teacher flipped off the pole cracked her knuckles, Riyo had eight Lotuses of regular size surrounding her in a circle formation.
She had a prediction, wanting to avoiding the lotuses even if she didn't know her quirk, the pro hero would try to attack from the air, down below, or from behind. Riyo was ready to roll out for an air attack followed by a snap for the stun, jump for a low blow followed by a kick, or jump forward for an attack on her behind. Riyo knew the woman she was facing was smart enough to not charge her directly. Keeping her thumb primarily on her index, but partially on her middle in a defensive position, Riyo knew she was ready to land a stun if at all possible, but really the young girl knew. She definitely wasn't ready for anything beyond that point.

Yuuta patiently waited for Yami to answer his question, about what her quirk was. It took a while. Johanna and the blue-haired girl already returned, but Yami still hasn't spoken up. He blinked once, until he realized, Maybe she was avoiding that question...? Assuming the fact that his realization was true, he didn't try to convince or force her to answer the question. "Um, hi." said his blue-haired classmate. Yuu gave her a wave. He then picked up a menu and decided to pick what he's going to eat, like what everyone else was doing.

Okay, Yuu. You just got your allowance a week before school. Don't waste your money. His body agreed with his conscience. He saw a picture that caught his eye, and also for a cheap price. I think I'll have this. "Sorry about your fight Yuuta, you'll get them next time!" Johanna enthusiastically said. He gave a slight smile, following a sentence, "If I were to make an excuse, the fighting field is not suitable for my quirk. If only the terrain was more suitable, then I would've had a slightly higher advantage..." He recalled the fight, and an emotion of disappointment was still lingering in his mind. A hero can always find an advantage on whatever situation they're in, said his dad as he recalled the thought.

Well, whatever's done is done. He should make his previous experience a motivation for him to keep improving. What his dad had said to him when he was a kid was true, that his quirk has many uses, but he couldn't quite grasp what it can actually do, except swinging around buildings and using it for ranged attacks.

Is there even more to my quirk? I feel like I'm being limited by my own self... He was stuck in deep thought, with the menu still covering his face.
