There was no way around it: Today, Gaku was having a bad day. His morning started innocently enough: He woke up, ate breakfast, and got ready for school. However, upon reaching the school he realized he didn't have his notebook. He had left it on his desk like he did every night before he went to sleep at some ungodly hour. Then, upon reaching the school, he had to report to the nurse to turn in the medication he had to take, along with the required forms and papers. However, after embarrasing himself with a brief loss of control, as he fanboyed after realizing what her quirk was, he then realized he had forgotten to get the other half of the forms from his father, causing more of a hiatus.

Then, as luck would have it, as soon as he was cleared to go to class, his wireless headphones died, causing him to spend more time in the infirmary until they were charged enough for him to survive the day without inconveniencing others. By the time he did get back to class, Professor Izanami was dismissing the class. Gaku sighed. His first day at a school and he missed all of it. As he started zoning off, he vaguely listened to his classmates making plans for after school activities. however, there was one he heard clearly over the rest, "Hey, you can go get something boring to eat with that stinky mutt, or you can fetch a couple of burgers with me? How about it, anyone?"

As Gaku heard the voice, he turned to his right, to see his feline classmate in a tree. Unfortunately, Gaku locked eyes with him. Although on the outside, he was apathetic and expressionless, on the inside, Gaku was freaking out, What am I supposed to do now ...

As he started thinking of a plan of action, another boy got the attention of the male in the tree first, much to Gaku's relief. He quickly pulled out his phone and sent a text to his older brother, knowing he'd have an answer. A few seconds later, his brother replied.

"Go Eat. Make some friends. You need them. =D"

Reading the text again, Gaku sighed before putting his phone back in his pocket and walked over to the two males at the tree, catching the last bit of the pink haired boy's words, "Um... I'm a bit hungry, so... if you want someone to eat burgers with... I guess I could go. If, um... i-if you want."

Gaku pulled his headphones off of his ears as he began absorbing the sounds from a nearby chirping cricket as he replied "I'm also down for getting a burger ... if you'll have me"

Although he still had an apathetic expression, Gaku's stomach betrayed him as it grumbled, causing him to blush out of embarrassment. Due to his day in the infirmary, he had forgotten to eat lunch so he was hungrier than he made it seem.

Dark Side

The girl was prepared - impressive. If it had been earlier when she was fighting blind and holding back, in this situation the girl before might be able to get a few hits in. Her eyes turned that greenish color because of those colored contacts as she reached her right hand behind her back sliding out three senbon and holding them between her fingers as if she was Wolverine. In her other hand formed a shadowy kusarigama, as she wrapped the weight and chain around her arm. She made sure she was going to let the girl in front of her know, there was such a huge gap between the two in skill.

She knew what the flowers could do, but she wasn't really concerned about them because they didn't matter. She tossed the senbon ahead of her, the three needles going in the same general direction but at varying angles to cover more space. They were easy to dodge, even if she hadn't been expecting them. As soon as she threw the needles Dark Side disappeared into thin air.

Her first solo mission came at the age of 11. She was sent to Britain to gather some intel for the Japanese government. They were concerned about a one of their former spies who had defected selling intelligence to the UK government. Her job was simple. Get close to the government building where they were planning to meet with the double agent, confirm his treason and take care of him. The mission....was a huge success.

Arietty

Johanna was tutting over the menu as Ari settled in. She could tell that she wasn't from by her dialect, she wondered if she was even used to the Japanese food. Then she complimented her on the fight and Ari did her best not scoff.

"Yeah...uh" Ari probably genuinely looked skeptical. "It wasn't really so much of a fight. You know I mean, she probably didn't even want to fight someone with no combat abilities." Ari looked at her half-eaten sandwich the whole time she talked. "You did great though," Ari said, maybe even a little bitterly. "Yami and Yutta too. Congrats" She quickly took a bite out of her sandwich to avoid having to talk anymore.

Yami thanked them and covered her mouth with her hands. She wondered if the girl was embarrassed by her quirk, Ari wasn't entirely sure what had happened, but that it was related to that sneeze.

Yutta also talked about his fight, she could see what he was talking about. Those wires would be great as traps or maybe even more effective against a different foe. She suddenly worried she should have waited for the others to get their food before she started eating in front of them. Was she being rude?
"So you are new to the area right?" Ari asked Johanna. "Welcome. I don't really know if I have the authority to welcome you since I'm new my self but you know..." Ari trailed off
'well done dumb ass' her inner voice chided. She sighed. She was not good at all this people stuff.

Impulse
Jono’s bowl of Sukiyaki was placed in front of him as he finished reading the text. He put the phone to sleep and placed it back into his pocket before breaking apart a pair of chopsticks. By this time, Jono had put out the burning cigarette in an ashtray that had been provided to him upon taking his seat. It was smoked down to the filter. Jono felt as though he needed every last bit of nicotine it had to offer. Occasionally, Jono would get a text or a call from people who didn’t give a shit about him. It wasn't that Jono particularly felt left out, but these people always phrased their conversations as though they wanted to catch up. Why pretend? They only called if they needed something that only he could help with. For instance. ‘Can you fix my phone? It’s running slow.’ / ‘Can you connect my printer to my computer? I can’t get it to work.’ / ‘Hey, can you help me with these viruses on my computer? I have no idea how I could have possibly gotten them!’ Yeah, sure. No problem. Jono stopped expecting people to make check-in calls, though he didn’t blame them. Not like he was doing the same. Though, some of these people were once his friends. Jono was a professional at falling out.

He didn't do favors for these people anymore. Oh, you need help? I’ll take fucking cash or check.

Obviously, the teen had calmed down immensely since leaving the academy. Jono collected a few items from his bowl with the use of his chopsticks. He transferred the beef and noodles into his mouth, almost ravenously, as those light blue hues found their way to the most ancient, raggedy-looking television he had ever seen in his life. Was that a run on sentence? I can't tell, but I'm leaving it in. Sorry. Anyway, the TV. It was a twenty-four-inch flat screen playing at 720 pixels. What year was it, 2018? No, it couldn’t be. Because in 2018 this kind of television was old and outdated.

urban_jungle_by_yuumei-dapl0zm.jpgAs a result of the intense fuzziness of the screen, Jono could barely make out what was currently on-air. Thankfully, the sound was working just fine. The young man was sitting across the bar from the TV, so it was easy to deduce that based on the commentary it was a baseball game. It did not include the particular team that Jono followed, but that was all right. Baseball was one of those sports that Jono loved watching. He played it for many years; since he was a young boy. Hell, if Shiketsu had a baseball team, he would definitely be on it. It was just a hobby he happened to have a passion for.

Jono lifted the bowl up to his lips and sipped down the rest of the broth. Afterwards, he pushed it to the side. The teen lifted himself up, resting his knees on the bartop and outstretching his body over to the opposite countertop. His hands grasped the television as he balanced himself. The elderly folk who were once enjoying their meal on the opposite end of the bar looked over, ending with the woman gasping. In addition to this, the lady who had prepared his food was repetitively whacking him in the back with a comically large woman spoon. Jono had been fixing the circuitry so that it would properly work - and while that didn’t explain why the LED bulbs behind the screen began working once more, Jono never really questioned it. But, he did wince after the third whack of that spoon.

Once the television was working fine, Jono pushed himself from the counter so that he was back on the barstool. The woman behind the counter looked at the television in shock. Jono stood up from barstool, grabbing his bag off of the ground. Then he looked over at the woman behind the counter. She looked at Jono at the same time. His lips curled upwards into a slight smile. Jono winked before turning his back to her.

“Azasu.” He spoke as he walked off, two fingers in the air.

The teen still had one more errand to run before going home. So, he headed over to the usual meeting spot. He figured that the distance he had to travel was about a mile, which wasn’t so bad in comparison to how far he walked on a normal basis. Honestly, catching the bus home on time would be way bigger of a bitch. If he missed that, the walk home would undoubtedly end in misery. It took fifteen minutes to get to his spot, ending with him climbing the fire escape of an abandoned business. Once he got onto the roof of the small establishment, he placed his bag on the ground. It provided quite the view.

Looking down at his watch, Jono noted the time. He was waiting for someone to meet him.

Felix "Ninth Life"
Felix was disappointed that there wasn't a line up for his offer for burgers, a little embarrassed if he was going to be frank. Not only was he outclassed by the human bitch, he had made a dramatic announcement as well and his lack of results made it seem pathetic. He looked around for anyone who might have his back... No one? He squinted his eyes, seeing a pink blur. That had to be a biter!

The voice that reached out to him was meager and weak, but that was a.o.k. A friend was a friend after all and Felix could at least boss him around by the sounds of it. He had no problems making friends in elementary, having a colorful cast of buddies that had severed connection with him when he went to the top notch Shiketsu academia. Yasugai seemed like a nice person and he wondered how someone so passive had made it to the top, did he happen to have a powerful quirk he was hiding? He definitely seemed like the kind of person who would be picked on. Felix was no natural bully, it was not in his blood, Jo being the obvious exception.

"G-Good evening. My name is Yasugai Yamashita. I, um... I just transferred to this class today." To Felix, this was a pretty dull introduction with the hint of hesitation, but he had no reason to be picky with his friends.

Felix leaped from down from the tree, landing onto his steady knees, a cat always fell on his feet after all. He was happy, regardless of the boy's hesitation, he really wanted to get to know more about the people he would be calling classmates. Felix offered Yasugai his right paw for a hearty handshake and grin.

"Welcome to the better class, Yasu... Yasuga... Yasugai?" Felix was never good with names, his eyes hovering over his pink hair. "Ah, I'll call you Candy because that's what you look like! My name is Felix, you should be glad you chose me over the other group! I am eager to prove myself, maybe even see myself to the top?"

Felix had a scratchy voice that seemed to like to talk quite a bit. By this time, another boy had answered his plea for burgers, things were looking up for the school's cat. The feline was quick to offer Gaku a friendly handshake, with another sunny grin. With one of sharp claws, he pointed to himself, spouting off his words with a spring. "Nice to meet you, blue guy!" Felix used as Gaku's forced moniker. "Welcome to team Felix, that's me, meow! I know this great American-style diner nearby, it serves the best fish burger with fries! I get it every time mama takes me and it never disappoints! Hope you guys are ready for the best burgers of your life?"

Felix had begun to motion the two along, but he was still open to anyone who might want to join at the last second. He stared his two new buddies in the eyes, a question beckoning them. "Say, I did not really catch either of your fights with Master Bang or moody chick, what kinda quirks you guys hiding?" He asked. "Mine's pretty obvious, meow."

Hiromasa Hisakawa

What an interesting first day, I thought as I began the walk away from the school grounds in class B the day was rather uneventful. The only thing that happened of interested to me was a single test that even that was boring and simple to pass, luckily for me due to my attitude I ended up making most of class B hate me right away which the teacher noticed and ended up getting me a class transfer to try and avoid any conflict in the classroom. I wondered how different class A would be as I started increasing my speed into a jog and throwing some jabs along the way now was as good time as any to get some training done.

As I jogged around town with no set destination in mind, I could tell I was getting strange looks people thinking why's he in such a rush or whenever I stopped to start throwing punches at an invisible target them thinking who's he fighting, it was common whenever people did something others would class as out the normal for them to be looked at and judged even in this day and age. I paid no mind to the people staring and continued jogging as I increased my speed slightly, I really wanted to see just how much I can push myself after all class A was most likely filled with people stronger than class B and with the quirk I have I know I need an edge over them and that's where my physical training comes in. As I turned my jog into a run increasing my speed once more I began to mix in a training technique call shadow boxing, a simple technique where one spars against an imaginary foe.

Now both running and shadow boxing put a lot more stress on my body than just jogging did as I took the time to wipe down the sweat now forming on my forehead. As I continued my training, my stomach almost felt like it was twisting as it occurred to me I didn't even eat breakfast today so my body was running on empty but I decided not to let it stop me and pushed through the pain. Turning a corner into an alleyway I quickly checked the area in front of me before closing my eyes and picturing an invisible foe, that foe in my head was the chief. I began bobbing and weaving while placing my hands just under my nose in the peek-a-boo stance. I pictured the chief throwing punches as I slipped under them or past them slowly advancing forward before finally, I pictured myself and the chief at my preferred style in-fighting. I twisted my body to the left side sending my left arm flying at high speed towards my targets body only to feel an actual impact.

I slowly opened my eyes confused at the impact I just felt hit my hand only to notice that from slowly making my way forward if only a little bit I had come into range of a metal trashcan. I placed my hand in front of my face looking at my knuckle, it was bleeding but luckily it didn't seem like I did any serious damage, I decided to ignore it and continued on my run as once again my stomach seemed to twist itself once more and I felt much more tired than I should at this point. Finally, I decided to slow my pace and go back to jogging I really needed food. Exiting the alleyway I looked up and down the street I came out to and thankfully I knew where I was. Stopping jogging and wiping the sweat from my forehead I slowly began making my way up the street and stopped as I reached the American-style diner that I was looking for.

As I entered the diner I took a seat and ordered a huge amount of food something I did often whenever I was hungry. I ended up getting three fish burgers, two fried eggs, to finish it off a corn on the cob and to wash it all down a vanilla milkshake a very high in protein meal.

Johanna
She had zoned out before anyone could respond to her statements because her nose had caught the scent of some unagi and it smelled divine. She was doing a good job so far handling her sensory overload, she was ignoring most of the smells besides the ones that were familiar or extremely appetizing. The issue was that it took a lot of focus to do it so even when she wasn't distracted, she developed a bit of tunnel vision so she could filter out the inputs. It wasn't until she had caught the waitress heading to their table, which caused her to put on a big goofy smile.

"Hi! HI! I'd like five orders of the chicken katsu onigirazu and if you can I want a whole salmon, just scale it and don't do anything else to it, please," she started as she looked at the waitress who gave her back nothing but a smile. It may not have been a usual order, but apparently, enough people had ordered something similar to not have her blown out of her mind. Perhaps this was because of the nature of quirks - or maybe even more so it could be attributed to that unbeknownst to Johanna, this was one of her grandfather's favorite spot to eat and he'd always ordered a whole fish the same way.

Outside of his visits from time to time to Iowa, Johanna didn't really know much about her grandfather. She knew he was the founder of a hero agency who strictly employed heroes who had mammal, mutant quirks. She knew he was successful on that end so, despite her and her parents' general lack of wealth, in comparison, he was loaded. And she knew that anytime she was around him he demanded she speaks Japanese, having a no English rule. It didn't bother Johanna much considering she was fluent in both as they spoke Japanese around the house, but it was always a weird rule to her.

Johanna blinked as for some reason her mind replayed what Ari had said a few moments ago that she missed out, her echoic memory saving her in a social situation,"Oh, hau (hai) I'm from Iowa (she pronounces English words correctly) in America, so besides a little time in Sapporo I've only been here for the summer. It's really different than home, there are so many people...."

Akane

Everything happened a bit too fast, the class being dismissed, Yami walking over to talk to him and then leaving along with his classmates. He took a few moments to think of his next course of action. He could always go home, study and train but a part of him wanted to go out a be social. Deciding to give in to the urge, Akane nearly went after Yami and the others but changed his mind when he saw Felix and two other boys he hadn't seen before. Seeing it as a good opportunity to make friends, he decided to go over to them instead, besides the pinked hair guy was adorable.
He walked over to them after a picking up his bag, speeding up a bit when he noticed they were getting ready to leave.

"Hey, do you by chance have room for one more. " He asked Felix with a raised eyebrow before glancing at the two other boys. He examined their faces for a moment before shooting them one of his disarmingly pretty smiles. Reaching up, he pulled some of his hair over his shoulder while returning his gaze to Felix as he waited for the cat-boy's answer. Hearing a grumble, Akane glanced down at his stomach and blushed a little as he realized just how hungry he really was at the moment.

Arietty

Arietty let out a small smile at Johanna's excitement over food. It made sense, with her body and quirk Johanna probably needed a lot more food than the average person. Ari listened as she ordered enough food to feed 5 Arietty's. If things were different, she might even be able to be friends with Johanna, Ari felt herself smiling at her excitement and her accent was pretty adorable. She really was like an excitable puppy.

"I moved to this area recently, but I've lived in Japan all my life." She added. "This area is a lot more populated than where I'm from, but I like it. Did your family move for you to start school? My mom couldn't come with me, so I am here by myself which is kind of cool..." she felt like she was gushing. Why couldn't she find the happy medium between not talking enough and talking too much?

"Anyway, I have to leave pretty soon. But thank's for inviting me. I have to work this evening." It wasn't even a lie, in fact, Ari was often working to provide her apartment, tuition, uniforms, and food. Her coffee habit wasn't cheap either, which made it lucky she worked at a coffee shop. They often gave her drinks for free, which Arietty drank up with glee.

She wondered where Jono had gone off too. He was a lot like her, they never really went out of their way to hang out with people. That's what made them so good together, they would hang out in her apartment, playing games or just watching movies. Chill.

She never had to entertain him, they were comfortable just doing their own thing but together. Ari couldn't help but wonder if she would ever be that comfortable with anyone else. She missed him. The root of everything these days. Part of her was still hurt that he had wanted to break up in the first place, but it hadn't been a shock to her.

She wondered how she would react if he tried to talk to her, she wanted him to, but how in the hell would she react? It didn't matter, he didn't want to talk to her. It was over.

Arietty broke out of her daze and spoke to the rest of the people in their group.

"What about you guys? Are you from here?" she addressed Yami and Yutta

Riyo Shinoku- The Lotus Tennin

Riyo wasn't sure what was happening when her foe's eyes went green, but she watched as she pulled out senbon, and a kusarigama. At that point, Riyo knew she was done for, but of course wasn't going down without a good fight. Or at least something. Riyo eyed the hero's senbon, but quickly go her attention stolen by the kusarigama that formed in her hand. Holy... this woman wasn't joking when she said she wasn't holding back. Shit.

Riyo kept her eyes up despite the senbon going towards her to see Dark Side disappear. That's when she dodged the projectiles, threw three lotuses nearby her at different heights to mimic stairs, and started jumping on them. She used eight already and had seven left. She had to make those count. Riyo was only about five feet in the air only had been able to use three lotuses to quickly get up, otherwise being exposed. She used two more. Six. Five. Riyo had five lotuses left and she was barely ten feet in the air. The girl snapped activating the lotuses below her leaving only two with her that weren't activated because they were both too close. Riyo wasn't sure her strategy anymore. Anything she did Dark Side could see right through it. The best thing Riyo thought of was to use more flowers. So she generated forty bouncy ball sized lotuses next to the ones she stood on. Four. Three. It covered more space, but the slightest move was sure to send her falling. That's when Riyo remembered, Dark Side still had a kusarigama.

Yami Kawaguchi
弓美 川口

Yami really didn't like her two classmates' responses to Wolf-Girl. Arietty, for one, downplayed her quirk, acting as though she had no capabilities in combat, and still congratulated everyone else- although from the tone Yami heard, what she said possibly held resentment. The girl made the seemingly invincible Dark Side back down, and if that wasn't some sort of accomplishment, Yami didn't know what was. If her sneeze meant anything, Arietty's touch meant more. She just wished Arietty would come to realize that in time. Shoe, on the other hand, seemed completely caught up in his own world, his face buried in the menu he was holding. Clearly, he was caught up in something, and she didn't like it. Yami would've flicked them both in the forehead if she knew them any better.

"So you are new to the area right?" Arietty asked, apparently to Wolf-girl. Yami's interest was peaked. She wanted the answer to that question since she first met the mutant girl, and now, she was going to get it. "Welcome. I don't really know if I have the authority to welcome you since I'm new here myself but you know..." Her interest was double-peaked, if that was a thing. She didn't expect for the girl to have come from a different area, since she both acted and talked like a native.

Wolf-girl wasn't paying attention, at least not at first, because she had called over the waitress and ordered the largest meal Yami had ever known. Yami guessed it wasn't unusual, since she had a mutant quirk and it probably took a lot of energy out of her, but her head was spinning trying to calculate the cost. When she took notice of the question, Wolf-girl said, "Oh, hau. I'm from Iowa in America, so besides a little time in Sapporo I've only been here for the summer. It's really different than home, there are so many people.."

"Ehh.. wow." Yami muttered to herself. She had never gone out of the country, let alone out of the prefecture, before, but her father once told her that her mother went to the Americas frequently to stock up on hot sauce. She didn't have to, of course, since she could've just ordered everything online, but she always said, according to her father, that she wanted to test the hotness for herself. Her addiction to the stuff was actually what landed her in the ER, where Yami's father was on shift, and that's how they met. Now, Yami had a full collection of sauces!

Arietty added, "I moved to this area recently, but I've lived in Japan all my life. This area is a lot more populated than where I'm from, but I like it. Did your family move for you to start school? My mom couldn't come with me, so I am here by myself which is kind of cool..."

Yami smiled. Arietty when from slightly bitter, if just a teensy-bit, to gushing. She thought it was cute.

"Anyway, I have to leave pretty soon. But thanks for inviting me. I have work this evening."

She nodded, despite the comment not be directed towards her. Yami guessed her mother either didn't have enough dough to come with Arietty or didn't want to, the latter possibly meaning that she was left to pay her tuition and all else herself. She wondered, though, if heroes in training were allowed to work, or if she should get a job herself. Her father probably needed the help, considering the fact she was going to a prestigious school and that his job didn't pay as much as it should.

Yami put a finger up to her chin. It wasn't like she had any skills to exploit, and considering her size and lack of strength, manual labor was definitely something she'd have to stay away from. Maybe she'd ask Arietty if there were any openings at her work. Ah, but that might be too awkward, working with a classmate and all. She'd figure out the details later since Arietty asked both her and Shoe a question.

"What about you guys? Are you from here?"

"Mhm," she replied. "I've lived here my whole life. Maybe I'll show you around sometime!" Yami nearly cringed back. Was that too forward?

Dark Side

Almost as if Riyo's thoughts had manifested the weapon itself, the weight of the kusarigama came swinging around her leg, bringing the chain it was attached to with it. The weight locked itself around the chain (because of the design of the weight and chain.) There would then be a yank, pulling the girl by the leg and yanking her up towards the extremely high ceiling of the gym before stopping, leaving her suspended in an inverted position. Perhaps Izanami was holding back or perhaps she just didn't want to injure the girl, but Riyo would get out of this with barely any injuries because Izanami opted for the kusarigama without the barbs.

Speaking of which, Dark Side made her appearance in view again - standing on that same pole she was on earlier in the exact same posture with the exception of this time holding a notepad and a pen, writing something down. She didn't bother looking up from her writing- she had already been aware of the scene would be like as she stood high above the lotus flowers and the girl. She placed the notepad in her pocket and then looked towards Riyo,"You did extremely well consider I didn't hold back. But I mislead you, that's not going to be your punishment."

Almost if her words activated a spell, a maze of razor-sharp wires appeared, making a web under the girl's suspended position. It was one of her signature traps and something that just earlier Yuuta had failed victim to, well a lesser version. She had learned it long ago at a very young age. Her father had told her, shinobi live and die by deception. it was as like the old book The Art of War said....

“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”

The idea for the trap started when she had learned to handle senbon correctly, through many bandages and stabs (they were extremely sharp so you had to be careful when hiding on your body) she had eventually learned how to hide them, and how to throw them with a wire attached. The wire was usually so thin they were invisible to the naked eye half the time unless you were looking for them. They were usually meant to be used few and far between, but she had figured if she was in an enclosed area she could attach a razor wire to them and set a deadly trap.

"Your punishment is to hang there for an hour and try not to die...." and with that the woman disappeared again, going to prepare for the others to make their way for their detention.

"Oh, hau. I'm from Iowa in America, so besides a little time in Sapporo, I've only been here for the summer. It's really different than home, there are so many people.." Yuuta then realized, Oh, so that's why she's messing up our names. Even if he knew, he didn't point it out. A person's dialect is really hard to change, so if he tried to correct her, she'd just do it over and over again even if she knew. Johanna was from another country, and from what he had read in books, foreign countries are completely and absolutely different from Japan. One day, if he grew up, he might be able to go abroad and discover foreign cultures...

"Anyway, I have to leave pretty soon. But thank's for inviting me. I have to work this evening." Arietty said.

Yuu raised his hand, "Same here." Although he has a parent that is a pro hero, his dad doesn't get funded much by the government since he belongs on the four-digit ranking on the hero popularity poll. They aren't really wealthy, and he doesn't do much at home, so he figured out he'd kill time by working part-time. That way, his dad won't give him his allowance, and everything that he earns from his job only belongs to him.

"What about you guys? Are you from here?" asked Arietty. "Mhm," Yami followed. "I've lived here my whole life. Maybe I'll show you around sometime!"

"Yeah, me too. But I don't go outside too much lately, so I might not know any new things around this area." Yuuta answered her question. He put down the menu on the table, indicating that he had decided what to order. "I'm done choosing what I should eat."

Johanna
Johanna listened to intently to Arietty as she spoke, and smiled when she said where she was from was less populated. It probably still wasn't as small as her home town of 200 people, but it was nice to still have someone to relate to. It had been a tough time adjusting even if she rarely showed it to others, and though she was constantly amazed by everything (even stuff that wasn't exclusive to Japan) she missed being home and being on her farm. She missed the horses, the cows, the cornfield, and even that stupid cat Pepper. She took a deep breath letting a slightly sorrowful sight escape her lips before shaking her head and smiling again.

(english words are in italics)
She looked to Arietty,"I'm here by myself. Mom and Dad are back in Iowa taking care of the farm and pa is in Sapporo running his hero agency. So I'm here in my own loft by myself. Kind of sucks being alone, but it's ok."

Her eyes bounced to Yami as she spoke and championed how she could show, she assumed she meant Ari and herself, around and smiled,"Hau (hai) I would like to be shown around. Maybe after brunch if you don't have anywhere to go?"

The service was quick, they had already brought her 6 plates (5 plats of the onigirazu and one of the fish) and she smiled as she glanced to Yuuta who said they figured out what they wanted. She was excited to hear what his choice was and also about the opportunity to ask for a bite - though her mom told her she shouldn't probably ask people.

Arietty
Arietty listened to the others talk as she finished her sandwich. Watching Johanna eat was a spectacle, she really was animalistic at times. However, her personality and other traits made it more endearing than wild. Yami agreed to show them around sometime, and while the offer was actually a little tempting, duty called. Johanna said she was going to go right after and Ari took it as her excuse to leave.

"That's super sweet of you Yami," Arietty gave her a warm smile. "However, my apartment doesn't pay for itself." She stood and dusted the crumbs from her sandwich from her lap and into the floor.

"I'll see you guys in school tomorrow okay!" she gave them a cheerful goodbye and waved as she exited the cafe and walked toward home. She had expected to be at school a full day today, so she made sure to pack her work uniform with her. She would be thankful for the extra few hours she could snag by going in early.

She lit another smoke on the way to work, trying to recharge after all that interaction. She was not good at being friendly if she was being honest. She was nice, and did her best to be as warm and inviting as she could be, but it took a lot out of her. When it was done she always felt like she needed a smoke, a coffee, and a bath. Two out of three wasn't bad.

She quickly made her way to the coffee house she worked at. Arietty actually had two part-time jobs, but this was her favorite. She waved at her manager as she walked in.

"Ari, you're early!" He said excitedly.

"School let out early, is it okay if I get a few extra hours today?" She asked, explaining the situation.

"Of course!" The man who ran this shop was friendly and kind and had a soft spot for Arietty. Ari assumed he felt bad for her situation. He quickly made her usual drink and handed it over the counter. Ari thanked him warmly and took a long sip out of the cinnamon iced coffee.

"I'm just going to change and then I'll be right back." She set the coffee down on the counter and took her bag to the bathroom and changed into her work uniform. It was pretty simple, a white button-up and pants and a green apron. She pulled the buns out of her hair and began the task of pulling the weight of her long blue hair into a high ponytail. Satisfied with her work, she put her bag in the staff room, grabbed her coffee and got to work.

It was so much easier to be friendly here. The counter almost acted as a barrier, and behind it, she could be as friendly as she wanted and it meant nothing. Her whole mannerisms changed, she was bubbly and smiled and even her voice took on a different tone. It was like a whole different persona. It helped with the tips, but it wasn't really about that, it was just about doing her job.

After the long school day Ari was excited to finish work, go home and relax. She was dreading the next day when she would be forced to face the results of her abysmal test. Now, all that mattered was a smiling face and the smell of coffee beans.

The sound of metal scraping concrete gave way, undoubtedly the sound of someone else getting off of the fire escape. Jono’s back had been facing his associate, but he heard him come up. The teen moved his head to the side before turning all the way around, both hands stuck in his pockets. Jono’s friend had come with an assortment of goodies, in a small garbage bag. The person nonchalantly tossed the bag over to Jono with ease. Once the Shiketsu student caught it, his fingers grasped the zipper and opened it up. Beautiful. Jono nodded in approval as he zipped it back up, before placing it down beside the bag he had brought to school. His associate looked at the teen strangely as Jono reached into his pocket to grab a few yen.

b9cd573362045e0e401eb0f3af2614d3--anime-guys-manga-anime.jpg“I don’t really understand what you do with that stuff, J. Gotta be honest with you; every week we meet up here, and you pay me good money for that junk. What’s the deal?”

Jono smirked as he walked a few feet to the man. The teen outstretched his hand out to the older gentleman, who in return took the money. It wasn’t so much that it was junk, but Jono didn’t really see the point in explaining its benefit to him. If this person was not intelligent enough to come to simple conclusions on his own, there was nothing that Jono could do for him. As far as what he had paid for, Jono could only really handle it in two different ways; one was recycling it. The other was sell it. Either way, it was completely legal, so Jono didn’t understand why he cared. Jono paid the man money to make the purchase and in exchange for delivering the items, he got more money.

“The deal is that you bring me what I ask and I pay you. I don’t recall paying you to ask me pointless questions.” Jono’s right eyebrow raised slightly, accompanied by a small period of silence. The smirk had long faded. Jono then continued. “I do appreciate you bringing it for me, though. Azasu. Talk soon.”

With that, the gentleman raised a hand and walked off, taking the fire escape back down. Jono waited a few minutes, stuffing that merchandise into his school bag. It barely fit. Luckily for Jono, he wouldn’t have to walk around with an awkward ass bag. There were quite a few times he was stopped by local police and had to explain why he was walking around ‘suspiciously’. As if.

Jono made his way down to ground level, checking the time once more. Not too bad, only thirty minutes had passed. There was still time to grab a coffee before heading home to meet a customer, so of course, that was Jono’s plan. He knew of just the place; the teen did not get to stop there often, but when he did, it was always a treat. That was a bit of a long walk and slightly out of the way from his home, but the extra time saved gave Jono a stupendous reason to make a stop - aside from the fact that he was getting a bit tired.

He probably could have slept better the previous night. Hell, he could probably sleep better every night. Jono didn’t dictate his sleeping pattern, even for important events like going to Shiketsu for the first day of classes. Sometimes, Jono was so tired of his own bullshit he wanted to kick his own ass. Had he been sitting in class with Bang, half-dozing off on the desk, the man surely would have hung him from his entrails.

On the way to the coffee shop, Jono wanted to take his usual shortcut. It was easy to avoid traffic if he travelled by jumping from rooftop to rooftop. Naturally, Jono reached down to his utility belt for the grappling hook; but when he removed the top half and the second half was still in the belt, he would find himself an extremely unhappy boy. That wasn’t a hard fix, but it was another thing to deal with that the kid didn’t need. Jono could not wait for the day to be over; what a steamy pile.

Looking down at the floor as his hand pressed against the door of the coffee shop, Jono slowly pushed it open before walking in.

He looked up. There was a small line of people. Behind the counter was a girl with blue hair. What?

No way. You work here?

Light blue hues looked over at the female, the corners of his mouth subconsciously forced to turn upwards. Jono had been looking for an excuse to reconnect. What was she going to do, deny him service? The teen placed his hands in his pockets once more, diverting his gaze from her to the rest of the cafe. It had been littered with a few people, but they had already been served. After this slightly awkward encounter ended, Jono knew that Ari wouldn’t feel any better. But he definitely would.

When he finally got up to the counter, Jono offered Arietty the same close-lipped smile he had given her at the door.

“Hi.” Pause. He looked down momentarily, breaking their eye contact while removing a small pendant from his pocket and placing it on the table. It was a small gold elephant, symbolizing good luck. Arietty probably would have recognized it, considering she was the one who gave it to him. He wasn't trying to give it back; rather, he was showing her he had it.

“... I’ll take whatever you recommend.”

Nakuru Mayou
Destination, Shiketsu Academy.

This was the first day of her brand new daily commute. That infamous thing that adult and child both took part in, that man and woman could complain about in equal manner. A true bridger of gaps. The cars were loud, the traffic lights never played nice, and weaving through the crowds was like playing some outdated rhythm game. That was her personal list, stocked healthily with complaints about the city life that she, even after her middle school years, still hadn't gotten used to.

"Hey! Is that Mayou I see?" Worse than all of those, though, was the wildlife. This is what she got for taking shortcuts. On either side of her, a few 'friends' of hers emerged with smiles on their faces and amusement in their eyes.

"Obviously. You need glasses or something?" One of them, Itami, his name was, laughed at that. Did they think she was being friendly with them?

"Ahaha. Funny. But not as funny as that getup of yours. What're ya playin' at? Shiketsu? You can't shake nerds down for money as a hero, you know."

Ergh. He wasn't wrong, but who did he think he was, questioning her like that? The guy had sure gotten damn cocky since he invented himself that signature move of his. This probably wasn't a situation that needed to end in violence, but fuck if that look on Itami's face wasn't pissing her off.

"Uh. Don't have to see your ugly face either, you know? Sacrifices and all that."

He laughed, again. Did the guy really not understand that she had no interest in this conversation?

"Come on! Don't be like that. Hey, about you ditch the dress-up act and-"

Right, that was it. It wasn't like she was particularly invested in this hero business herself, but this guy condescending her like this was something that deserved punishment regardless of what he was talking about. She was outnumbered five to one, but knowing these goons she just might be able to...

...

Bang. Bang.

After hours of assault, the garbage can's lid finally gave way. Christ almighty, when did they learn to work together so well? The last she remembered, that lot could hardly throw a punch without tripping over one another's shoelaces. But now? Shit. One kick. One kick, while a good one, was the only proper blow she'd managed to get in before that walking candlestick had sealed her up. Hauling herself from her iron prison, Nakuru cringed as garbage fell from her body and fresh bruises pressed against her uniform.

Shit. Her uniform.

This thing was brand new!

Some god must have been vying vengeance against her, because this was definitely more bad luck than she deserved right now. Missed the first day of school. Ruined the new clothes. Probably needed some sort of shot or another. Ah, man. What a way to make a high school debut.

Though, what were they gonna do, give her a lunchtime detention? If she just made up some sob story about getting jumped or something she was sure that she'd be fine. Regardless of what they did, for now, she was just hungry. For burgers, she supposed.

Shambling out onto the streets to the response of no shortage of scrunched noses, Nakuru began to stumble her way towards the closest burger joint she knew. Or rather, the closest burger joint she knew that wouldn't throw her out for walking in while smelling like a garbage can. A few people asked if she was okay, and a few more tried to offer her their spare change, but none got a response beyond her pocketing an extra bit of scratch. She'd just enough for a cheeseburger and soda, by the time she'd made it to the restaurant. The cashier naturally gave her a look when she approached the counter in the state that she was in, but cash was cash, as they say.

Now, she just hoped that the place had filled up on soap recently.

That pesky insecurity of this, that gnawed on him like a dog gnawed on a chewed up bone, stung him upon hearing the cat boy's first few words. Was he really so insignificant that Felix couldn't care to remember his name, despite the fact that he'd only said it seconds ago? And the nickname he produced: was that just a veiled insult? Yasugai had to wonder whether this boy had been in his class all those years ago. If he had been, the pink-haired young man was quite prepared to scrap the entire interaction altogether and leave. But that thought disappeared into the recesses of his mind when Felix expressed... gratitude. Gratitude for being chosen by him? His mouth formed an 'o' that was equal parts confused and astonished.

Before he could say anything else, however, another student approached the duo. Yasugai cast a timid sideways glance at the new arrival: a boy with headphones and electric blue hair. Well. Maybe if he could pull off hair like that, Yasugai wouldn't stand out for his. Although he did suppose blue was more socially acceptable than pink... for boys, anyway. His attention shifted back to Felix's bad cat pun, and the mention of an American diner nearby that apparently served the best burgers in town. Yasu nodded. That sounded just dandy to him. Even it didn't, however, he wouldn't have said anything. This was his first big chance in a while to actually make friends, after all.

It seemed like... Felix was unsure if they were ready to have the best burgers in their life? Yasugai blinked. Then, feeling pressured to respond, spoke. "Y-Yes! So ready. Um..." He abashedly shifted his violet eyes away again, clamping one of his hands to his arm as he awkwardly rocked back and forth on his heels. Well, he was chipper. But his attempt to show it might have come off as a bit fake. It was then that the cat-boy asked what his quirks were. At this, Yasugai shrunk a little. He wasn't quite ready to talk about that yet considering his self-consciousness about it... but he supposed he could offer a detail or two. Of course, the moment he opened his mouth, another student came forth.

This one caught them as they were beginning to leave and Yasugai shut the mouth he'd left hanging open the moment he realized it. He didn't, of course, have an answer for his inquiry. He certainly wanted to say yes, but he supposed this was Felix's spontaneous lunch group. So the pink-haired boy turned his attention to the aforementioned cat-boy instead, catching the other boy's smile and subsequent tummy grumble shortly thereafter. Yasu almost giggled, but managed to stifle the embarrassing noise.

Gaku shook the boy's hand as he listened to teh boy introduce himself, "Nice to meet you, blue guy! Welcome to team Felix, that's me, meow! I know this great American-style diner nearby, it serves the ..."

As Gaku listened, his mind was stuck on the nickname. The more he thought about it the more it made sense. He had blue hair, blue eyes, and even his headphones had spots of blue on them. Blue was even his favorite ... Wait.

"Y-Yes! So ready. Um..."

What did he say?

Realizing he didn't hear the question, Gaku was internally panicking. He was so caught up in his thoughts, he forgot he was in the middle of a conversation ... at least he thought it was a conversation. Fortunately, Felix started moving the group along, as he asked a question Gaku did hear, "Say, I did not really catch either of your fights with Master Bang or moody chick, what kinda quirks you guys hiding? Mine's pretty obvious, meow."

Gaku internally frowned as he was reminded of his day in the nurse's office, but on the outside, he kept a straight face as he watched the two males, waiting to answer as it seemed the pink haired boy was going to say something. However, another male walked up before he could answer, "Hey, do you by chance have room for one more. "

As the newcomer studied both him and the pink haired boy, Gaku felt both intrigued and confused, as he wondered what went through the boy's mind. However, as the boy smiled directly at the two, Gaku's eyes briefly widened in surprise as his face turned red. Gaku looked behind him, watching the passing students, to avoid the smile. Something about the smile made him feel ... weird.

As he turned back towards the rest of the group, he slipped his headphones back on his head as he waited for Felix to reply, his face back to it's usual straight expression. Gaku definitely didn't mind a larger group as it would make his brother happy, but he couldn't answer the question. His reasoning was that Felix had the right to answer, seeing as he was the one who extended the invitation.

Arietty

It was almost like she could feel him walk in the door before she saw him. It was always like that with Jono, in class, and now as he walked into the coffee shop. She did her best to focus on the customers in front of her, but those piercing blue eyes were calling her from the doorway. Would he stay? Was he going to see her and walk out? What was he doing here? To her pleasant surprise, he walked up to the counter.

Ari's heart was pounding so fast she wasn't sure she was even in control of it anymore. His eyes were locked on her and she felt the heat rise to her cheeks, clashing against the cool color of her hair. He was giving her a small smile and for a second, a brief moment in time, she could almost forget that they weren't together. For the duration of his smile, everything was okay.

“Hi.” His greeting held some nervousness she thought, she understood, if her heart was beating any harder she would have to go have it looked at.

"Hi." She said, barely above a whisper. She held his eyes, her blue ones staring into his crystal like ones. She missed him so much. Why was he here? Did it matter? Shouldn't she just be glad he was, that he was talking to her at all? Everything had ended so messily, shouldn't she just be excited that he was here, looking at her with a smile? He broke the eye contact and she felt like someone had broken a hypnosis. She blinked, trying to come back to reality.

She followed his line of sight down to a small coin on the counter. It was her elephant coin, she had given it to Jono shortly after they had started dating. Her mother had given it to her when she was little and said it had belonged to her father. It was the only thing Ari had of her father's. Her mother had told her that it was good luck. When Jono had needed a little pick me up, she had passed it on to him. She was so surprised he still had it. She felt the emotion of the whole encounter sticking her throat together and making it hard to talk.

"I didn't think you would still..." she started then stopped unsure what the end of that thought was. Did she really think he would have thrown it away? No. She was overjoyed, however, to see it in his hands and not stashed somewhere to be forgotten. She reached out and touched it, making extra care not to let her fingers brush his. The last thing she needed was to give him a giant dose of all of her unresolved feelings for him and scare him off.

“... I’ll take whatever you recommend," his voice broke through her thoughts.

"Uh...yeah, of course,"
she said and gave him a genuinely warm smile. She didn't want to read to much into this, but it felt...good. She busied herself making the drink she had often seen him order, a latte with an extra shot of espresso. She carefully placed the guard around the cup to keep the heat from hurting his hands. She thought about handing it to him but then worried she would touch him by accident and visibly thought better of it. She sat the cup on the counter.

"It's...on the house this time," she said softly, looking back into his eyes. "It's really good to see you." she fidgeted with the necklace she normally kept hidden under her shirt, a small heart shaped pendant made out of scrap metal, a gift from her ex-boyfriend.

Jono kept his small smile as she offered for him to take it free of charge. That’s not what he wanted. So, instead, he took the Yen he would have otherwise spent on the coffee and placed it into the tip jar along with some extra. Looking back up to Arietty, he kept his mouth shut as she spoke. He took a moment to hold his response, much to the chagrin of the few people who had been waiting behind him in line. Jono took a sip of his coffee, the flavor combination of espresso, milk and cinnamon representative of what she preferred. The espresso was a nice touch - she remembered how he preferred to ingest his caffeine.

It was good. Though, Arietty always did have good taste; if he did say so, himself.

“I guess you’ll be seeing a lot more of me now, so good.” The teen began to walk away, turning once more halfway between the counter and the door.

“Oh. By the way, you did great today.” Jono showed off some of those pearly whites as he said that. He rarely showed his teeth when he smiled. Perhaps, subconsciously, he normally kept his mouth closed when he smiled because of his closed-off nature? Jono never particularly questioned it, but his teeth weren’t nasty. Hell, he took good care of himself for the most part. Some bad habits existed, but who was perfect?

“I am so proud of you, girl. More than you can possibly know. You couldn’t have done better, so don’t beat yourself up about it.”

Someone on the line bitched at Jono while he was walking out of the door. He ignored the person, stopping himself from looking back at Arietty once more as he continued walking. He couldn’t afford to lose focus - just because she did well didn’t mean he was out of the grey and into the green. Jono needed to figure out a proper way to compete or suffer the consequences. He would be damned if he was to be bumped down into the support class. Or even the B class, for that matter. Jono worked hard to get where he was.

Was he well fit for support? Yes. Could he be one of the greatest supports of all time? With ease. That was where he was supposed to be, much like his father. How he was typecasted; but that’s not what Jono wanted. He didn’t want to settle. If he wasn’t busting his ass to work for it, then it simply wasn’t worth it. Arietty performing so well only motivated him. If she had the fast pass to incapacitating professors with a touch, how could she not be doing well?

Jono’s mind paused on that thought. Arietty didn’t touch him at all.

She had the entire exchange to easily touch him, but she didn’t. Arietty could have figured out exactly how he was feeling. She chose not to. That could have been a lot to put on her given her work shift, perhaps she was trying to avoid having to deal with it at work. Maybe, she was hiding something back and didn’t want him to know. Either way, Jono was well aware of how her quirk worked. It was overpowering, one hundred percent of the time.

Jono just made it to the bus stop. Shaking his thoughts off of the female, albeit only briefly, Jono hopped onto the bus. A swipe of a card from his wallet was all it took to pay tare. Grabbing a window seat in the middle of the bus, Jono looked out the window. The music playing through his headphones automatically changed in volume. All it took was Jono to think it into reality. As soon as it was just loud enough and Jono was satisfied, it stopped. One of the nice things about Jono’s quirk was that regardless of the level the actual headphones displayed, he always heard the music at whatever volume he so chose. There were times that Jono’s headphones had nothing playing on them to others, but just because the volume was on the lowest setting meant little to Jono. Just being connected to the circuitry of his cellular device and headphones, he heard whatever he wanted.

Just a brilliant little life hack thanks to Jono’s quirk. In fact, Jono only ever wore the headphones on his ears to pretend he couldn’t hear people. That, or if he didn’t want people to approach him. People were always way more apprehensive to bother someone who was listening to music with headphones on.

When Jono had finally walked through his front doors, it had been an hour later. Given the stops, city traffic and the time of day, Jono couldn’t avoid it. If he had walked it would have taken just a bit longer, but that was just because Jono’s parents lived conveniently on the other side of the city. If he was using his inventions, Jono could easily make it to the Shiketsu in twenty minutes. No problem. The combination of his jet boots and the grappling hook was one of the reasons why he placed so high in the entrance exams, after all. Fuck. He had to fix that thing when he got home. That was another hour gone.

Almost immediately upon entering the doors of his home, Jono’s mother came running from the kitchen. She instantaneously wrapped her arms around his midriff, standing at about half a foot less than he did. Jono’s mother started bombarding him with questions, asking how his day was, if he made any new friends, if Bang was too rough on him. She even moved her hands up to his face and began squishing it together as she continued ranting on. This immensely bothered him, but Jono did his best to suck it up. He did not speak back to his mother - probably a combination of the amount of respect he had for his parents and the fact that he loved her enough to never want to do anything to hurt her feelings.

“... Hi, mom.” His light hues peered over to the side, absentmindedly.

Felix "Ninth Life"
Felix turned his attention towards Akane, giving him a bright thumbs up. "Of course we got room! More the merrier, as I always say! My name is Felix, we kinda talked before, didn't we?" Felix's scratchy voice responded. "I was just asking these guys about their quirks, if we are going to be pals we gotta know how we can rely on each other, right? Come along, you can tell us about it more at the diner, meow!" Some people might mistake Felix's meows as a symptom of tourettes or a cheesy saying, but it was natural to come out when he was feeling emotions of any kind, it was apart of his quirk.

He was a little disappointed people were not responding to his question and instead responded with shrugs and shirks. Felix did not really think of it as a secret, he already knew a general idea of the quirks his other classmates had, he just did not get a chance to see these boys fight. He did, however, see Akane's fight and could not really grasp onto what kind of quirk he had either. Were these people playing some sort of game, trying to hide their abilities to give them the advantage or something? Felix could not really hide his quirk, it was pretty obvious if his opponent was keen on guessing. He decided he had no interest playing the keep-away game, he was going to try to open up to them as he led them to the diner.

"My quirk basically just makes me do whatever a cat does." Felix would say with a shrug. "I am fast, agile, can jump, I can really do a lot of things if I am going to be honest. But it ain't no fancy quirk like the dragon boy, kind of a weaker form of that if you will." Felix said that with no shame, his past experience had made him aware that some people were given advantages he would never have.

The diner was a short walk's away from the school. It was popular with a lot of young people, with cheap prices and a grimy atmosphere that scared most of the pretentious upper class, it was where Felix and his mates often found themselves during spare time. The place was dilapidated, at parts lacked a proper ceiling but the aroma of barbecue was perhaps enough to keep any wary customers from taking off and leaving without a second thought. It served an assortment of food, any American staple they could think of. When the waitress had arrived at their table, Felix had already made up his mind, but she was patient in waiting for the others to make up theirs, calling them her darlings or honey when she addressed them.

"A fish burger and fries!" He ordered eagerly.

He noticed quite of few students from Shiketsu had made their way to the diner as well, it made sense with it being so close after all. One of the first people he noticed was a bigger fellow with an interesting hair style, he was digging into quite a feast and looked to the type of person he would find in class B, he probably knew Yasugai, or Felix was making very grand assumptions. The other was a girl he caught a glimpse of, but good waft of, what the fuck did she do, procreate with neighborhood garbage truck? She looked to be a mess, probably had a rough day, but he kind of hope she did not look his group's way, though he did make brief eye contact with her by accident, hoping she would no return it with her smelly eyes.

"So how about you guys? I told you about my quirk, I really want to hear about yours!" Felix sounded forceful as usual, it was always hard to be polite, his mother punished for his lack of manners constantly back at home. He was sure to eye Yasugai, he seemed really insecure about something.

Akane

Willing away the blush and trying to ignore the embarrassment, Akane reaches up to run a hand through his hair while looking off to the side. Out of the corner of his eye, Akane noticed how the blue-haired boy had turned a shade of red that contrasted well with his hair and eyes. He assumed it was probably due to the smile that he had aimed at him and the other male but decided not to comment on it as to not embarrass him. He knew he would be if it was the other way around considering the fact he hated blushing in front of others.

"Thanks." He said while grinning a little when Felix said he was allowed to tag along. He nodded in agreement while following after the shorter male who had begun talking about his quirk. Ever so often he would glance back at the other two members of their little group. It occurred to him that he didn't know their names so he decided once they were at dinner he would ask.

"Don't think of it that way, I'm sure your quirk has some advantages that the dragon quirk doesn't ." He said after returning his full attention to Felix, somewhat surprised at how easy it was for the male to dismiss his quirk like that. Once they had arrived at the diner, Akane began looking around almost as if scanning the place. It wasn't exactly the prettiest but the food did smell good so he tried not to think about it too much. He caught sight of their other classmates, Yami in particular which made him smile and wave at her from across the room in hopes she would notice him. Sitting down at the table Felix had picked, he waited for the male to order before making his.

"Can I get a double cheeseburger, fries and a Pepsi." He asked the waitress politely before leaning back in his chair and crossing his legs. After hearing Felix's question he decided to go first.

"My quirk allows me to absorb blunt force damage and increase my strength with it." He said, giving them just a basic summary.

Nakuru Mayou
Someone really needed to start a petition for showers in public restrooms. No matter how much she rinsed, lathered and repeated, there was no way she was going to take care of all this garbage gunk without a proper shower and bath. Would any onsens be open yet? Mom and Dad would be a real pain in the ass if she came back from her first day looking like this. Though she wasn't exactly sure what she'd be able to do about the uniform, anything would beat her standing half-naked in a fast food restroom, rubbing cheap soap over her body like some sort of hobo.

It was a good thing she wasn't the sort of girl to feel ashamed at showing some skin, or she'd be in a right proper crisis right now.

It was also a good thing that she wasn't the type to worry about her hair, because running hand soap through it like she was doing was almost definitely a bad idea. It was just too bad she couldn't do the same thing for her uniform. She probably wouldn't worry too much about the look of wet clothing, but wearing it around sounded like both a one way trip to a cold and a bad time in general.

After a solid ten to fifteen minutes of impromptu personal grooming, Nakusu finally took to the paper towelettes the place had opted for in favor of air dryers and got to dabbing herself down. Thank god for short-sighted management. If they'd gone green in here she would have had to have done this with toilet paper, and that was never an easy ordeal.

...

Not that she had experience, or anything.

When all was said and done she certainly didn't look good, but at least she didn't reek quite as much anymore. The garbage's presence on her body has been reduced to a few stubborn stains, and while her uniform was still as rank as ever, her skin and hair at least smelled of chemical soap rather than garbage water.

Leaving the bathroom, she spotted her order being brightly displayed under the 'Ready' sign above the counter and swung by to pick it up before finding herself a seat. If her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, then a few of her would-be schoolmates had taken up residence in here in her absence. Already chatting away and making merry, by the looks of it. Putting the one lonely guy with the inhuman appetite aside, that was. On any other day, she might have swung by to chat them up, but for the time being she just wanted to take a load off and put something in her stomach. Establishing a pecking order, or perhaps just gathering up a name or two could wait.

But that didn't mean that she couldn't eavesdrop, she decided, as she settled into a seat somewhere near the middle of the boy and the group, and began to work on her meal.

As he heard Kath's reply, Rock took a moment to look at his cousin before gave her a warm smile.

"- If she's here right now, I bet she would have already been so proud." - Rock replied Kiki while patted her head.

Rocky understood what Kiki meant since he was one to know about her past. Unlike other kids, she wasn't here with the purpose of impressing anyone. Becoming a hero, it was actually Kiki's sister, Corula's goal. And what happened to Corula had become such a strength for her to work harder than anyone here. She had been so mature and determined about being a hero more than everybody he had ever met, himself included. And for that, she was one of the most person who Rocky respected.

"- Looking at you always reminds me that I still need to be stronger than I already am. I have to be, so Runa doesn't have to..."

Rocky said, though it was also to remind himself. Ever since the time he saw his sister's struggle to follow father expectation, Rocky determined to be stronger. If he's as strong as his father, or stronger than him then Rocky could succeed his father. Haruna had always been his little sister, he never wanted a hero from her. Rocky only wanted her to return home, and they could be a family again. It became his reason to become stronger, and the other half of his reason to become a hero.
