Futuristic Mental Apocalypse

Isaac shrugged, and took his notebook out and wrote some stuff on it before showing it to Maddy.

He whistled a tune by himself afterwards. Although trying to keep his face. A single tear did fall down from his cheek. He had lost everything he knew in his entire life.. And probably more.

Oak tumbled to the back of the van. Rubbing his head, he stood up.

"Slow down," Oak looked up expectantly. "This is too fast. I mean, look at the Van Go."

Oak tried a smile, then grunted. That wasn't going to work.

"Sorry, I was trying to light up the mood. Unlike Isaac, who was trying to light up the house. Honestly, WHAT were you thinking?"

Madi glanced between the road and the note, muttering aloud to herself.

"The car starting up have probably alerted the whole neighborhood of psychos. In all cases a new hideout was needed. The infected would barge into my house and just settle there. By setting fire and letting the stove on, I've made a trap. It'll kill some of them and it will surely attract more and more means less everywhere else. I'm sorry I should have written something about doing this.. But.. Just drive.. We all have a copy of the map.. .. Sorry about not letting you drive..."

Madi trailed off at the last few sentences, so that the content of what he wrote there remained between them. When finished reading, her brows furrowed and she bit her lip.

"S***, Isaac. I'm sorry," She said, mentally smacking herself for apologizing when she knew it wouldn't help. She reached over and grabbed his hand, keeping the other firmly on the wheel. "We'll make it through this as a team, alright? We've got your back.

"And actually, blowing up the house was a pretty smart idea in that sense," Madi added, glancing back quickly at Oak.

All of sudden Midos body began violently shaking, his eyes now firmly looking into the eyes of Oak. His legs started to kick in the air, his arms trying to grab something unseen. More and more violent bursts of movement came from Midos body, and abruptly came to a halt and Mido closed his eyes. Is this it, Mido thought, Am i dead? Is this really how my pathetic life ends. Just laying useless on the ground? Not even while fending of the undead? No, i must endure, Midos eyes stayed closed, and no movement could be seen.

Oak sat down again and turned his head, as if he was talking to the surroundings outside the window.

"Okay. Fine. That made sense. Sorry for mistrusting you so quickly."

Oak leaned back. "You know, Isaac, you're a good leader. You can make tough decisions. Thanks, boss."

Suddenly, Mido started having spasms in the back. Oak rushed to his side. "Holy crap, something's happening to Mido!"

"S***, what?" Madi said, letting go of Isaac's hand to grip the steering wheel and make a sharp turn around a Psycho who had jumped at them. Just because the car was equipped to take them out didn't mean she'd let it hit the car. She gritted her teeth and leaned up to peer in the rear view mirror to peek at Mido's convulsing. She sat back down and focused on the road. "Amy said something about Catatonia, right?"

Isaac nodded. Natalie(Amy.) Did say something about Catatonia. Alas, Isaac didn't know too much about it. He did what he atleast could do to help. And that was making sure they were driving the correct route to the sewer that Natalie had marked.

With one finger on the map following estimately where the car would be. He pointed to the right trying to signal Maddy that it was that way they had to move.

(Aaaaah! Guys, I love the fast paced posting, but SLOW DOWN!)

Amy nodded and moved over to Mido. "It's basically the extreme loss of motor control. I'm guessing that's what he has."

She peered out a window, and smiled.

"Hey look! There's a psycho stuck to one of your shovels! ...that's slightly disturbing. Cool! Oak, you wanna go fill this up with blood?" She held up a syringe.

Midos eyes all of sudden flung up. He quickly pulled himself up. "Where am i? Why did i hear an explosion just before. And why are you holding a syringe?" Mido quickly sputtered. It was obvious he was in a state of shock. He quickly crawled over to a corner of the car, and curled up, looking at all three in the back.

(Time to advance the plot a bit.)

Amy quickly put down the syringe. "Heyheyhey, it's okay! Isaac blew up the house, we got out of there, and I need to get a blood sample from that Psycho stuck on the car."

Oh yeah. Oak probably wasn't going to help, was he.

"Can we stop soon? The entrance to the sewer isn't too far away."

She pointed over Maddy's shoulder at the entrance as wrecked buildings flew by.

"And for Pete's sake, slow down!"

Oak cringed. "Since we're in a moving car, no. If we were to stop the car.... Still no."

Oak glared at Amy for a bit, then scoffed in frustration and snatched the syringe out of her hand.

"Fine! As soon as the van stops, I'll-"

Mido woke up, spluttering, and Oak jumped back. He was saying something, but he was being slightly incoherent. Oak thought he heard him say, "explosion" and "syringe."

Amy went over to comfort Mido as Oak observed the syringe and the Psycho hanging on a shovel. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Of course, it was a good idea, but Oak found himself hating the fluffing shovel.

Madi went basically cross-eyed upon seeing Isaac hand suddenly in her field of vision.

"Oi, move your hand, I get the point," Madi said, pushing his hand away. She made a right and kept on down the road. Madi huffed upon hearing Amy criticize her driving.

"Fine! I'll slow down the d***ed car!" Madi grumbled. She took pressure off the gas and glanced back at Amy. "So, how do you know about this lab anyway?"

"OY! This 'd***ed car' is a masterpiece. My zombie-pummeling murder van deserves more than your measly three stars. It's a d*****ed five stars, you unappreciative-"

Oak turned to Amy abruptly. "Oh yeah. How did that happen? No offense, but none of us in the van counts as a reliable narrator, especially, again no offense, you."

"Lab? Nononononono. No labs, no needles i, i, i just need to be..." Mido rambled, still out of his mind. He had curled up and was breathing heavily, he looked around the van faster than should be humanly possible.

Madi instantly processed that Mido was having a panic attack, and began processing what to do. Of course, her first idea was crazy, but she was going to see it through anyway.

"Isaac take the wheel," Madi stated before unbuckling and jumping into the back. She pulled out her iPod and crouched next to Mido, placing her earbuds in his ears and turning on the first calming song she could find on her playlist. She then pulled him sideways into a one arm hug and rubbed his shoulder.

"Mido, calm down! You won't feel any better if you don't!"

She scowled at Oak and turned around to talk to Maddy.

"I grew up in a lab about a mile away from here. It was also in the sewers, and I snuck away several times and went exploring. I found that lab. Oooooh, and hehehe..." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "They weren't very friendly. And a little ADHD all around- oh no."

Her eyes grew wide and round.

After a few moments, Mido started to calm down more and more. When he finally calmed down, he looked to his side and saw Maddy holding around him. He tried to piece the situation together, he remembered that he had started to get a fit, and he almost were at the door, and then he was here. He must have had a worse fit than normal, or atleast gotten a shock. Either way, Maddy was sitting next to him and trying to comfort him, with music from her iPod even.

He looked at her and smiled a vague smile. "Thanks." He said calmly "I feel much better now."

Isaac quickly unbuckled and nearly jumped to the drivers seat. *maddy! That is not PROPER DRIVING!* Isaac thought for himself as he grabbed the steering wheel. Narrowly avoidng a building. Isaac multitasked looking at the map and on the road He suddenly hits the brakes causing the van to abruptly stop. Isaac slowly stepped out of the van.. And pointed.. In front of the van were the entrance.. Further foward.. Horde of the pychos.. Isaac quickly drew his blades and moved over to the sewer entrance and waved his hand for the others to Leg it. He needed help to move the manhole cover.

Madi grunted in reply to Mido's thanks. She took back her iPod and stood, tucking her device in her pocket and zipping it closed. (yes, some sweatpants have zippered pockets). Madi grabbed her gun and realized with a wave of dread that it was her only weapon. Cursing her stupidity, she turned off the safety and jogged up to Isaac. She grabbed his shoulder.

"Wait a second, we need to make sure that everyone has a weapon," Madi said, eyeing the horde.

Amy snatched the syringe out of Oak's hands and jumped out of the car. She ran to the psycho that was still stuck to the shovel, stuck the end in its arm. She quickly sucked up some blood, tucked it in her pocket, and ran back to Isaac. She ducked into the manhole and kept the cover open for the others.

(It is your choice whether the psychos attack you or not.)

Isaac nodded to Maddy and the others and at the Manhole. He looked back and saw more Pychos running. Frantically Isaac waved his arm towards the Manhole. The others really had to leg it now. He steadied himself. He was ready. Maddy could take the first few out with a well placed shot. Isaac was ready for those that wanted some up close and personal.

Mido fell foward as soon as the van stopped. He could feel he had hit his head, but when he saw out the window that was the least of his problems. On the street a whole pack of Psychoes (Murder of psychoes? As in a Murder of Crows.) He quickly stood up and opened the doors in the back. This was now or never. He had to be ready to close their wounds in case they were bitten. So he legged it to the manhole without giving much thought to the Psychoes.

(Okay, let's assume that Vicky and Oak got in. I don't wanna wait for them! T-T)

Amy stepped aside as Mido ran in. She shouted out "guys! Let's go! Everyone's in!"

Isaac turned to Maddy and pointed at the manhole. He wasn't going to let her be the last. Her weapon may be good against far away opponents But not infront of her. Although it felt as if time itself stood still. Inch my inch the pychos were coming closer. Would the manhole stop them at all? Isaac didn't have much time to think about that. Not with the pychos figuratively breathing down their neck.

Madi sighed. So we aren't waiting. Fantastic. Madi looked to see that Isaac wanted her to go first and shook her head. Despite logic saying that guns are better for far away, they were more powerful and more accurate (for her) up close. She raised her gun, ignoring the sting in her shoulder and neck, and fired. To her surprise, she actually took out a Psycho. Oh, but that pissed off the others... Well s***.

"Alright, on 3, we both run," Madi said to Isaac, firing again.
