Futuristic Mental Apocalypse

"Yes actually, excuse you, Lord Sass," Madi huffed. Instead of going around and opening the door to get in the passenger's seat, Madi merely climbed over Isaac and sat down, taking out her BB gun.

"Shotguuuun~!" She chirped in a singsong voice. While she was disappointed that her "puppy dog" eyes hadn't worked (not that she was expecting it to), she was quickly growing excited. She still had the gun on safety so squeezing the trigger did nothing but stretch her finger, but she could already hear the airy bang it would make. All she had to do was aim for the eyes. "Let's roll!"

Oak shook his head.

"Everyone, calm down. The person who can drive the best should be driving. Maddy, no offense, but your anxiety attacks can be a risk. Plus, Isaac is dumb. I meant, like, unable to talk, not stupid. Just... shut up. Anyway, we need a pointman who can call out any threats from all directions. Having Isaac in that position is, well, not ideal. Maddy, you already called shotgun, so you're the pointman. You have to let us know where the threat is and call it out, and you're in charge of keeping Psychos off of our front. If anyone clings onto the van, it's up to you to take care of that."

"Okay, next up, Amy and Mido are people of importance, since her role as the scientist person is vaguely our goal, and Mido needs to be in mint condition to take care of anyone that goes down. I will take the back and sides, if need be. Once we get out of the van, never be alone, because you'll need someone on your 6:00. These zombies may moan, but there's a lot of moaning happening, so there. I found some walkie-talkies in the back. Mido and Amy should be in the middle, and then we'll have two groups on the front lines, left and right. The goal is to
not fight the Psychos until we get one neutralized. The front acts as scouts, and the entire formation will shift accordingly so that we can-"

Oak paused, took a deep breath, and shrunk apologetically.

"Sorry," he mumbled, "I watch a lot of zombie movies. And Attack on Titan. That was a dumb idea. Someone else take over."

It seemed as though things has quieted down outside of the closet. Plus, her stomach was grumbling. Vicky slowly opened the closet door and tip-toed her way out of the room. She walked along side the walls like a ninja would. She was getting her sneaky on. Normally, stairs are a bit creaky, so Vicky sat on the stairs and slid down her butt each step slowly. She was trying really hard not to be heard.

(Roar illusive! I'm just gonna move on.)

Amy laughed at Oak and peered over Maddy's shoulder at the road.

"Let's go, Isaac!" Suddenly she had a serious face. "I'm not joking. Something very bad is probably going to happen to Maddy, and I don't think I need to ask any of you if you care about Maddy."

She lightly punched Maddy's (uninjured) shoulder. "That includes you, you dolt."

Oak managed to squeeze out a smile. This is not awkward, he repeated to himself in his head, And the world's only hope is not fighting over who gets to drive the van, which I fixed, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Nope, this is gonna end like a zombie movie with a happy ending. Do those exist? I don't think so. I don't wanna be here!

Oak blinked for a moment, then squinted. He whirled around then licked his lips. There was something missing. Someone missing, more precisely.

"Any of you guys see Vicky around? The green people girl? I swear I saw her upstairs."

Vicky finally made it downstairs. The house was really quiet. Good... she thought. She made her way to the fridge in a ninja-like manner. She looked inside. Vicky gasped, "The.. the food.. its green.." she was utterly speechless. "I-I... have to destroy all the food." Her eyes were wide with fear of what could have possibly happen to the food. Did the food get infected... just like the zombies? Vicky backed away from the fridge, unsure what to do. Suddenly, a loud grinding sound filled the house. It was the sink garbage disposal. Vicky was throwing the food away one by one.

Oak frowned. There was some sort of grinding noise. A gurgle, a hungry gurgle, a gurgle that was slightly pesky in the days before the Psychos, but a gurgle that might decide their very fate.

Green Girl was killing the food. Oak scrunched up an angry smile.

"Found her," was all he could say before bounding up the stairs, greasy wrench in hand.

Vicky heard a noise behind her. She turned around and found Oak behind her. "Th-the food is green," she tried to explain herself. She didn't really like how he was looking at her. "O-oak?" She dropped the food in her hands and began to run back into her favorite room, the recreational room.

Isaac sighed. They were missing Vicky, Oak and Mido. In general him and Maddy wouldn't be at their best in prolonged combat so they needed the rest. And with Natalie's new personality it didn't seem like she was fit for combat either. Perhaps they just need a shove. Isaac turned the key on the car first nothing happened, he tried again and the motor gave gave a sound but still it didn't fully start, Isaac tried again for the third time and the motor. The motor roared alive, Isaac knew that if the other three didn't get in with whatever they could carry as supplies they'd have to be left. The pychos were not going to wait after hearing the car. Hopefully the garage door would hold. Isaac turned and looked at Maddy, he lowered his head and changed the gear. He sighed and readied himself. Checking all the necessities in the car. His satchel by his side and the hook swords on his back. He was ready. But.. for what? Nobody knew really what they were going to expect.

Madi watched Oak head in after Vicky and facepalmed. Oh because going after a delusional girl while looking like a serial killer is completely safe and normal.

Madi glanced at Isaac when she heard the engine putter twice before roaring to life. She noticed that Isaac had glanced at her before focusing on the car again.

"Sooo... Where is everyone?" Madi asked slowly.

Mido heard the engine roar down stairs. "Why are they starting a car right now?" Mido said to himself, and stood up looking down at himself. he was a mess. His two sleeves were ripped of at two different places, and he was covered in Maddys blood. Some of the blood had even run from his hands due to the water and moisture in the bathroom where he had fallen asleep. His hair was a mess to, but there was really no time to do anything about it right now.

Mido started walking down the stairs, and started to feel a numbing in his left foot. "No! Not right now!" Mido shouted and picked up speed, almost running down the stairs. "Isaac! Vicky! Maddy! Anyone! I need help!" He yelled throughout the house, now draggin his foot towards the garage.

A loud Bumb followed by the sound of someone getting his air knocked out of his lungs could be heard in the living room. "Guys I really, REALLY need your help now, as in NOW!" Mido yelled on the top of his lungs.

Oak looked up and panicked, dropping the wrench.

"Oh God, no, it's okay! I'm not going to hurt you, I just- I'm sorry, I'm really really sorry-"

Suddenly, there was a loud WHUMP from behind him. Oak wasn't sure what to do. Mido started shouting. Now Oak knew what had to be done. Oak should help Mido.

"Someone- Mido- Mido needs hel-hel-someone help him-"

Oak panicked, flapping his hands and gasping for air.

"There was a whump and the van is running and I don't- I don't wanna be alone. Someone help!"

Oak wasn't sure whom he wanted to be helped. He wanted his parents back. What a loser you are, Oak thought, God dammit, crying for your parents. You're so alone.

Mido used his arms to crawl towards the car, his legs numbly trailing behind him. A look of panic and terror was spread across his face, as he only could move slowly towards the car. He took heavy breaths, but soon his arms grew numb as well. This is it, he thought, the moment where he should die. Of all times he had to get a fit, right now. He would be nothing but a burden to them. How pathetic.

He noticed Oak standing near, doing nothing, but flailing around. Help me god damn it, Mido though. He already lost all ability to move any limb but his eyes. They remained usable, but watching the panicking Oak did not help at all. Why could he not help him? He beckoned, no prayed that Oak would just swing him around his shoulder, but he knew this was without a granted wish.

Vicky poked her head outside of the door, "Help?" She heard two boys crying out for help. "Is it green people?" She held out her two kitchen knives. "Where are the green people? I'll kill 'em!!"

Isaac turned as he heard Mido scream. He looked back at the wheel then to the door leading to the rest of the house. Isaac rolled with his eyes. *Guess I'm babysitting everyone* he pondered for a moment then poked Maddy on her hand and pointed at the wheel just as he got out of the car and ran over to the the screaming, one of the hook blades in hand. Fearing the worst that time was against them. Isaac could definitely hear the moans outside, and it wasn't the mormons.

Amy vaulted out the side door and ran to where Mido was.

(Yes, if you havnt figured it out yet, Amy is very motherly. Bu she can't fight. Sooooo...)

"Mido? MIDO?!"

She stopped by him, wondering he wasn't getting up.

Suddenly, it dawned on her.

"Catatonia?" She guessed.

Isaac looked around a bit confused before looking at Amy, a short moment he stared at her then pointed on his eyes before pointing at the car, he then moves his right hand across his left. signing 'Look after.' He pointed at himself then at Mido.

Without waiting for Natalie to reply, Isaac sheathed the hook sword and then carefully lifed Mido up to carry him. Placing one hand on Mido's back and the other underneath his knees. Isaac thought for himself as he kept face.
*Dammit Mido. Your just being silly now.* Isaac turned and carefully walked towards the van.

Oak saw Amy and Isaac walk into the room. In shame, Oak hid away behind a wall.

Get it together, come on, you're an independent mind, you can think for yourself.

NO I CAN'T NO I CAN'T NO I

It's just them and you. If you don't pull yourself together, everyone is going to die.

OH GOD WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE

Isaac picked up Mido and was leaving. Oak almost had a fit, on top of the fit he was already having.

"Wait wait wait wait! I'm coming! DON'T LEAVE ME!"

Oak, in his attempt to go with them inside the van, essentially tackled Amy.

"Oh, God, I'm so sorry, don't leave without me- I mean..." Oak took a deep breath and tried to stealthily wipe his tears by pretending to rub his eyes sleepily. "You need everybody here to... to... do good. I should... I should go with you. You know, uh... Yeah."

Oak climbed into the van and squatted. Well, that was humiliating.

Isaac, gently placed Mido inside the van and pointed at Oak then at Mido before leaving them. He had to get Vicky.. Hearing footsteps Isaac began planning.. They wouldn't return, that would be suicide. His home would be filled with these pychos and the area would be swarming with them.. No... Isaac stopped by the kitchen and stared at it for a while. *All my work... My whole life* Isaac walked over to the kitchen and slowly but assuringly turned the stove on. He turned to Vicky and pointed to the door leading to the garage. He then walks into his office clearly searching. He found another bottle of rubbing alcohol, opening the bottle he spilled the content in the office. He stared at the soaked papers on the floor *Tired, scarred. Light the fires far.* Isaac speculated. No matter what this world might never return to normal. He looked through the many different books in his office. Before leaving he wrote on the wall. 'Mundus in ignem cadet. Auxilium non est'.. Isaac opened a drawer and picked up a matchbox, picking a match from his hand. He waited for Vicky to run to the car.

Madi was ready to jump out of the car herself when she heard Mido screaming. What stopped her from leaping out was Isaac poking her in the hand and then pointing to the wheel, before leaving. Madi blinked at the blank seat before grinning slowly. Ooooh yeah!

Madi unbuckled and shifted, climbing into the drivers seat and cracking her knuckles. She hadn't been behind the wheel since her prison friends took her driving... Okay, that sounds really bad, Madi noted to herself, reminding herself not to phrase it that way if anyone asked. What she meant was that her father was a corrections officer, and she went to the prison with him a few times. She made friends with the inmates and when they got out, they taught her evasive driving and how to fight... Yeah, that didn't sound any better.

Madi turned her head when she saw Isaac carrying Mido out of the house bridal style. She couldn't help but smirk.

"When's the Honey Moon?" She called teasingly. Oak and Amy were quick to follow Mido's lead into the car, but Isaac headed back inside. A frown pulled on her lips and she watched him carefully. Vicky came scrambling out of the house after a bit carrying her knives, and Madi waited for Isaac. What was he doing in there?

Isaac sighed and lighted the match, watching the flame for a short while he threw it down on the carpet. The flames began spreading through the alcohol soaked papers and carpet. Isaac calmly walked out of the office closing the door and walking past the kitchen with the gas stove on. As he arose from the door way he nodded with a smile to Maddy. seating himself in shotgun seat. He tugged his satchel filled with few rations his unwritten book and his notebook which made it all that easier to communicate and of course writing tools.

Isaac fastens his seatbelt looking back counting that everyone is onboard. He then faced Maddy giving the same calm smile and gave her a thumbs up, he settled back on the chair with the map out, studying the location Natalie had marked.

"... Why do I have the feeling that we should get away from the house?" Madi muttered to herself, putting the car in reverse and backing out. As soon as she was on the street, she parked and looked to Isaac and his calm smile.

"Alright, what did you do?" She asked. "Because there are many things screaming 'weird', the first one being that creepy little smile of yours that's telling me I should drive far away as fast as I can."

Oak shrugged.

"There's also the fact that you're okay with Maddy driving."

Oak sniffed. What was that smell?

"In all seriousness, I think you're right, Maddy. I smell burning."

When the kerosene exploded in flames, shattering through the windows and flickering into the sky, Oak glared at Isaac through the van windows. Isaac had been up there. In the library. Glass sprinkled all over them, making Oak cry out in pain. Hollywood Lie #4 or something: Glass shards falling from the sky will cut you on the way down. Oak ducked out in the van. The glass rattled on the roof like hail.

"Isaac!" Oak yelled, "I thought we were coming back here at some point! I know that the world is ending, and stuff, but this is a bit of an overreaction!"

Oak looked up as their shelter slowly. Goodie. Isaac had raised the stakes even higher for this mission.

Midos eyes looked around him like crazy. What the actual fuck was going on? He had just been picked up by Isaac, as if they had been married. A loud explosion was heard, and now Maddy was driving like a lunatic. I mean sure she was from a mental hospital, but really? Was this what they had to put up with? And the explosion, was that from inside the house? So many questions, and no way to get them answered. Mido just hated when this happened, why did his brain need vacation now and then?

Well, at least he could breath and blink, that was somehow the most important thing right now. And he had not gotten bitten, so it was sort of a win-win situation. Sort of. They could just have lost their shelter forever. Not to forget all the sweet rubbing alcohol. How he hoped they brought some with them.

Madi stared in shock at the after math of the explosion, then looked to Isaac.

"Are you actually insane?! I thought you were just mute and had CIP, but I swear you have psychopathy too! Jesus Christ man, do you know how many Psycho's are going to come running because of that?!" Madi ranted. She slammed her palm on the car horn and swore, quickly stepping on the gas and speeding off down the street. "D***it, Isaac!"

Madi had to take a deep breath to calm herself down from her tangent and sighed.

"Sorry. Now, can someone hook my iPod up to the radio so I can actually focus on the road?" Madi asked in a slightly calmer tone. "Isaac, you're closest. My iPod's in my pocket, and if you want both my hands on the wheel, then suck it up and grab it."
