"I'm sure you could," Clay reassured her cousin. "But Ashley is extremely protective over him so don't take it personally." Clay says walking back over to his wife and resting a hand on her shoulder watching Rylan start to fall into his sleep.

Ashley was glad her husband stood up for her and she tried to relax a bit. "We will try not to." Brit said and Ashley handed Rylan back to her aunt as he stayed asleep. She let out a sigh and looked at Brit in an annoying way.

 

[Lexus]

"He's a sweetheart." One of her other cousin's sad from a far watching him sleep. He really was cute and they all smiled. They never thought Ashley would be the first out of all of them to have a little one.

Ashley smiled and nodded. "You can hold him if you want just try not to wake him." She told her cousin as her aunt walked over and handed Rylan off to her. Ashley was becoming less tense and trying to be okay with everyone holding her son.

 

[Lexus]

When Rylan woke up he took him from his wife's arms as everyone else started to make their plates Clay walked outside with Rylan in his arms. He the sat him in the dirt with a laugh to see how he would respond to the new thing he had just been introduced to.

Ashley served a plate for her and for her husband. She walked out of the house and over to the two of them and laughed as she saw Rylans eyes grow wide. "You ain't country until you've been in dirt." She said and laughed then handed her husband his plate.

 

[Lexus]

Clay took the plate and nodded in thanks before turning back to their son. "What do you think Rylan? You like it?" He asks with a laugh kicking up the dirt and watching him state wide eyed at him.

Ashley laughed and sat next to her husband as they watched Rylan. She began to eat and then kissed his cheek. "Rylan sure will be a country boy." She said as he began to grab dirt in his hands and laugh.

 

[Lexus]

"I surely don't doubt it as much as I would like to." Clay says with a laugh taking a bite out of his food and turning back to his son making sure he didn't wander too far since he was still trying to learn to crawl.

Ashley laughed softly and smiled as her little cousin came out and sat next to her. "Rylans too cute." McKell said and Ashley smiled. "He is right? You'll take care of my baby when he comes here for visits right?" Ashley asked and McKell laughed and nodded. "Yeah."

 

[Lexus]

Clay smiled at the two and then he turned to Rylan and ran over to him suckle. "No, you don't eat it silly, it tastes yucky." He says with a laugh moving Ry's hands full if dirt from his mouth and kisses his cheek.

Rylan laughed at his dad and Ashley smiled at the two. They we her everything. "I'll be back." McKell said and got up to run back to the house. Ashley smiled at her everything and said, "I love you two."

 

[Lexus]

"Ditto," Clay says carrying Rylan over to wear she was sitting and wiping the baby's hands with a napkin and handing him back to his mom as he reached for her. Clay smiled at the sight and confined eating.

She held her baby boy in her arms and smiled as he began to laugh. "He has your hair but your moms eyes." She told Clay and laughed softly but smiled . He was to adorable.

 

[Lexus]

"I've noticed." Clay says with a laugh finishing his food and turned back towards the two of them when Ashley took his hands and stood him up in her lap and smiled up at him Clay took the picture.

"Man mom was way to protective of you." Allie said to Rylan as Rylan looked at her and just rolled his eyes. "Oh shut up." He told her and sighed but smiled as we.

 

[Lexus]

"She was protective of all of you." Clay replies. "That's the way mothers are, I thought it was cute." He then wrinkled his nose and went through the pages looking to see if there was anymore stories they wanted to hear.

Allie smiled and the others did too. Rylan looked at Allie and then they asked, "Can we hear about the time mom got hit at her softball game and you lost it?" They laughed

 

[Lexus]

Clay laughed. "I suppose I can tell it to you if you want to hear it that bad."


Clay was home for spring break so he decided to go to one of Ashley's games m. He was sitting in the bleachers with Gaven and smiled when he saw Ashley come out into the field.

Ashley smiled over to Clay and Gaven and went onto the mount. She had a bad feeling about this. She didn't want to pitch tonight. With the first couple of batters, Ashley got two out. She took in a deep breath and pitched it again but she knew she did it wrong. The batter met it at the right time and it came right to Ashley. Her eyes grew wide and moved her face so it hit her shoulder. She fell onto the dirt and bit her lip.

 

[Lexus]

Clay watched this with great intensity. He watched as he saw with his own eyes what had happened. His eyes grew wide and he quickly looked to Gaven. It was clear that the batter intended on hitting her purposely. The rage inside him grew and he went running for her, there were other people crowded around her but he didn't care, he pushed his way through. "Ash, are you alright?" He asks in worry crouching down beside her not wanting to touch her because he didn't know how much pain she was in.

Ashley was in a lot of pain and Gaven eventually made it through the crowd and next to Clay. "Ash get up." He said and then Ashley nodded and sighed. "I'm fine it just hurts." She told them and her coach tried to get her to stand up but Ashley refused.

 

[Lexus]

Clay looked at her in genuine concern. All he cared about right now was her. "Come on, get up." Clay says gently helping her to her feet and letting her lean on him as they walked off the field. He gently wrapped his arm around her side, and Gaven did the same to the other as they carried her to the bench.

Ashley wrapped one arm around Clay since her other one was the shoulder that was hurting. She sat on the bench and cried out in pain. Her coach took off her jersey, thank god Ashley was wearing a tank top under, and looked at the bruise forming. He slowly and gently applied ice then asked Clay to hold it there.

 

[Lexus]

At the sound of her cry of pain Clay winced. He knew it must've hurt because she was stubborn. He nodded towards the coach and took the ice from him. When he lifted it for a moment took at the bruise himself he went wide eyes again. His anger finding it's way back to him but he didn't let it show. When he felt her wince he released some pressure on the ice. He watched as Gaven got up from the bench. "Where are you going?"
