Gaven looked at his friend and said, "To go talk to their coach." Ashley sighed and shook her head. "Gav I'm fine. It's part if the game plus I threw the wrong pitch." She told him and Gaven sighed as Ashley winced from pain again. "You're just being stubborn." Gaven said and Ashley sighed and shook her head. "Not in the slightest just calm down okay?"

 

[Lexus]

"Yes you are." Clay says with raised eyebrows as the medics came over to look at Ashley's injury for themselves Clay got up and nodded over to Gaven and they both made their way for the batter.

Ashley sighed and looked at her friend Sam to go and stop the two. Sam tried to get the boys to stop but Gaven simply told her no and kept walking with Clay. Ashley sighed and knew the batter, Serena, was going to talk so much crap about her.

 

[Lexus]

When the two came to a halt in front of her the crowd began to cheer and to that Clay laughed in amusement, turning to his friend he saw him doing the same. "I hate to be the one to tell you this but you've messed with the wrong player," Clay says simply waiting for a response. The two of them were to twice her size so she should be easily intimidated by them

Thing was, Serena wasn't intimidated. She looked at the two and laughed. "Oh really? I hadn't noticed." She told him and her teammates laughed at them.

 

[Lexus]

Clay just shook his head and covered his mouth with his hand to hide his laughter. He then turned to Gaven and nodded and Clay took her bay in his hands and broke it into two pieces with his knee and handed it back to her. He could see the hurt and disbelief in her face. "Have we made ourselves clear? Or do we have to continue?"

By then everyone was cheering and Ashley just shook her head. Serena looked at her brand new bat and then looked up at Clay. "Y'all are bastards." She told him then walked away to their dugout to grab a spare bat.

 

[Lexus]

Clay nodded to her and smiles. "Your not the first to say that!" He shouts back before walking away in triumph with a giddy smile on his face as he walked back to Ashley with an innocent smile. "What?"

"You two are somethin else ya know that?" Ashley said as she laughed and shook her head at the two but Gaven smiled. "You love us though." He said and Ashley shrugged. "Eh."

 

[Lexus]

"Oh please." He says with a roll of his eyes. "You do so." He says sticking his tongue out at her. He was glad she was doing better.

"You wish I did." Ashley told them and laughed softly then winced when she moved her shoulder. "She got me good. It still hurts a bit." She told them and sighed.

 

[Lexus]

"I would put money on it she doesn't try to do it again." Clay says with a laugh taking her in a one sided hug.

Ashley hugged Clay back and smiled. "Thanks for being there for me guys." She told them and Gaven smiled. "Anything for you." He said and Ashley laughed softly. "Well, it's just a bruise. I still have plenty if other games."

 

[Lexus]

"You're not playing again until your shoulder is healed." Clay says sternly pulling away from the hug. He didn't want her injury to get any worse than it already was.

Ashley sighed and looked at Clay. "It's fine Clay. It's just a bruise. I plan on playing this weekend." Ashley told him with a sigh.

 

[Lexus]

"Sorry, but no." he says offering her a faint smile. He didn't have to be her coach to know that it was bad enough for her to sit our for a least a couple of games.

Ashley looked at Clay and sighed. "I don't see why not Clay." She told him honestly and just shook her head then sighed again.

 

[Lexus]

"Because you're just going to make it worse, that's why. Would you rather sit out for a couple of games or for the rest of the season?" He asks with raised eyebrows waiting for her response.

"I won't have to sit out any games because I'm fine and I will be fine. All I need to do is ice it down. I'll be fine." Ashley told Clay and Gaven sighed. Ashley and Clay were always a pain.

"No, it doesn't work like that." He says with a shakes of his head before getting up off the bench as her team came back off the field and he turned to leave.

"We are not done here Clay!" Ashley shouted and after they batted, Ashley looked at her coach and he subbed her back out but because she said too. She ran out on the field and then looked at Clay with a smile. The ice numbed the pain so she was fine.

 

[Lexus]

Clay just shook his heat at her and kept his eyes on her the whole rest of the game to make sure she was okay. She was indeed stubborn and it aggravated him in the very least.

After the game finished, she walked to Gaven who just shook his head. "You are one hell stubborn child." He told her and Ashley just laughed. "I know."

 

[Lexus]

"Your mom was one of the most stubborn people I knew and it drove me crazy." After thinking about it Clay realized whenever they fought it was because of her stubbornness and he couldn't help but laugh about it.

"We could tell dad." Allie said as she laughed and Cory did too. "We know where Rylan gets it." He said and Rylan looked at Cory. "Oh shut up." He said and looked away
