Leda didn't know what it was. Perhaps the unsettling feelings of sleeping in an unfamiliar place, or the slight anxiety about her first real day of classes coming up. But she slept terribly. She was sure that there were other things that happened, but the thing that she kept seeing even after she had opened her eyes was a terrible scene from her childhood She raised her hands in front of her. She tried so hard to be optimistic, and joyful, and everything that others saw her as. But she considered herself a monster. She knew that she was. Her arms dropped limply to her sides again and she sighed, rolling over and reaching for the enchanted gloves she'd laid by her bed.
They'd been a gift after her first major outburst of power, her mother knew some powerful people, apparently. They canceled out her hellfire abilities. Normally she'd touch a surface and there'd be a fifty/fifty chance that it would burst into flames. She simply doesn't know how to control it. But hopefully, this school would help her.
When the knock at the door sounded, it gave the bluenette ( totally a word for describing her hair color ) a fright, causing her hand to slip and touch of one the slippers that she had set down beside her bed also. Her eye's widened and she gave a nervous glance around the room to make sure her roomates weren't watching. One was asleep, and the other not her. Thank goodness. A small blue flame has appeared where her fingertips grazed, and was slowly starting to spread around the fluffy shoe.
" Oh, shoot. No, no, no, " She hissed, trying to blow it out. She eventually succeeded, but her slipper was definitely ruined. " Dammit. "
Leda sat up, and pulled her gloves on. She dressed in her overalls for the day, and picked up the ruined slipper. She'd throw it away when she found a rubbish bin. She slipped out the door, coming face to face with Luciro.
" Ah ! Oh, Luciro. Goodmorning. " She laughed, she'd completely forgotten that someone had knocked after her little morning panic.
