Marvel/Daredevil Roleplay

Ryder and Sable walked out together, shoulder to shoulder. Something about this felt so right. Like old times. The two were going on a mission together, scanning the streets. She would be lying to herself to say she didn't miss those times. Heading to an alley way, Ryder and Sable finally stopped, looking around for any potential spies. Ryder scanned the area for listening devices before saying, "Alright. We're secure."

Sable leaned against the wall, "So... what's going on?"

Ryder opened the envelope to show pictures of dead children leaning up against a wall, their mouth gagged and hands tied, holes in their heads with blood running down their faces. He handed them to Sable who shuffled through them as he explained, "These were sent to Piper two days ago. The West Crows took three of our children. Three bright mutants with exceptional abilities. The boys are 8 and 12, the girl is 11. The killed them execution style."

"What?" Sable looked sad. She had seen worse, still, it always upset her to look at children who ended up how she could have at any second.

"They're trying to send us a message. I wasn't able to snag the letter from Piper's office or make a copy of it yet, but what it said was basically, 'You pride yourself in filling your ranks with child soldiers who came into this world by accident. They do not have a place here. They're mutants so they somehow don't deserve to live and that an organization of mutants cannot be trusted. That we should all be registered, and if we don't comply they will help the police take us down.' Piper and I both think they had dirty cops working with them. You know Piper and Fisk have never got along... maybe this is his way of... cutting out the competition." Ryder explained.

Maddie frowned. "I have a friend who keeps tabs on fisk. I'll let him know. It sounds like that could very well be the case." She replied with a nod to Ryder.

"No. I don't know your friend, but this isn't his war." Ryder said.

"War?" Sable's eyes grew, "No." She spoke in her high pitched raspy voice. She shook her head, "Piper's gonna do it... He's gonna strike back. Start a war."

"We didn't start this." Ryder said.

Sable shook her head, "Don't you see, Ryder? A gang war? This is not who we are?"

"This is bigger than a simple gang war, and we? You're too good for us remember?"

Sable crossed her arms, staring at him, trying to figure out what to say next. She was growing angry, frustrated. People would die... That's what this meant. And if mutants ended up having to be registered in Hell's Kitchen, Sable would have to leave. She can't be on paper. She wouldn't be able to live with that.

Maddie crossed her arms. "My friend is gonna look into it anyways, he probably already knows, and good luck stopping me from telling him. I live here, I'm not just gonna stand idly by while you destroy my home with your dumbass war. This is bullshit and you know it. People are going to die because of Piper's damn pride." she spat. She really didn't like Ryder.

Ryder scratched his head, squinting his face in frustration at Maddie's words, "Don't fucking get invovled! This isn't you are your goddamn friend's business. If Piper finds out that I let this slip or that Sable somehow knows, he will go after both of us. I can't risk that. Who the fuck is this friend anyway? What makes him so qualified to help?"

"Yeah... how is Matt going to help, he's just a lawyer, a blind one. Besides, aren't you two fighting?" Sable asked confused.

Ryder calmed himself down, "Sorry, miss, but I got to protect myself and Sable, and you're a threat to that right now. If anything happens to Sable because you told your... "friend" to come help, I promise you, you and your friend will regret it. I-"

Sable stomped her foot, slamming her fists down by her side as she got in front of him and stood between Maddie and Ryder, "Stop!" she screamed at Ryder, "You don't have to protect me! You have no responsibility to! I left the gang! Why are you still here!" she called holding up her hand in front of Maddie signalling her to stop and let Sable handle the situation. She was tired of people protecting her and wanted answers.

Ryder sighed, "Because... Piper's planted bombs in the hospital... the one you both work at. See, it's in MSR territory and Piper's planning on making it look like the Crows did it to rough up police Crow relations and uncover dirt cops."

"He keeps tabs on fisk. He can tell us what fisk is up to without being detected. I'm not putting her in danger, and don't fucking pretend to care about her after-" Maddie cut off when sable through her hand up. She was clearly very angry. She gasped when she heard about the bombs. "THEY'RE GONNA BLOW UP MY HOSPITAL?! THE FUCK THEY ARE! IM NOT LETTING THIS HAPPEN YOU CAN GO FUCK YOURSELF. I HAVE TO WARN THEM, WE HAVE TO GET PATIENTS OUT!" she yelled, pushing sable's hand out of the way to scream at Ryder. "When?!" She demanded, cracking her knuckles. "And I swear to God, if you're lying I will fucking skin you." She hissed, crossing her arms. "Sable he could be lying to get you to help his gang again. Please tell me you're aware of that. He may be trying to stir up shit. This could be a trap from Piper." She spat, glaring at Ryder.

Ryder was about to answer Maddie's question about when until she began to threaten him and accused him of lying to them and trying to scam Sable. Distracted by the absurdity of Maddie's accusations, Ryder defended himself, "No! I'm not lying! It's not a trap. I don't want anything to happen to Sable. I feel awful for what I did, please." he spoke genuinely, his eyes filled with guilt, "You have to believe me. Sable was the closest friend I've ever had. Yes I hate that she's left the gang, but I understand... I know why she has, she's explained it to me. Of course I want her back, but I wouldn't lie about this."

"Ry, when are the bombs being placed?" Sable asked.

"I don't know. I tapped into the wire system and was listening in, but my cover was almost blown so I had to leave before anyone mentioned the exact time of detonation or implanting... I wish I knew an exact time but I don't." Ryder leaned his back against the wall, "Promise me you'll stay away." he said to Sable.

"No." Sable said, "I don't owe you anything, and you don't owe me... so why do you here? You've never cared about anyone as much as you care about Gwen."

"Sable... I-" Ryder got quiet for a second before drawing in a deep breath, "Having you gone has made me realize... I love you."

Sable's eyes grew two times in size, her mouth slightly ajar allowing her large front teeth to show.

Maddie rolled her eyes. She just couldn't take this. She began to walk away to call Matt. He didn't answer. Shocking. "Matt. This is important and unrelated to our fight. Call me when you can." Maddie left the message and hung up. She waited for Ryder and sable to finish their little scene. She was much more occupied with the hospital being blown up.

Sable stood there for a few more seconds, looking around trying to process everything. The hospital was going to blown up, Piper was trying to start a gang war, and some one was in love with her. So much life altering and terrifying information all at once. Sable, still holding a shocked expression on her face simply turned away from Ryder silently and chased after Maddie. Ryder watched her run off without a word, looking disappointed, but realizing, he couldn't control her actions. If there was one thing he learned from years of working with Sable, it was that even Piper couldn't tell her what to do. He began to walk away hands in his pockets, head hanging low.

"Maddie, we have to get to the hospital, we have to do something." Sable said growing fearful and worried for the fate of the hospital and the innocent patients and workers within.

Maddie nodded. "I left a message with Matt to call me back. Let's go to the hospital and start warning people. They'll do an evacuation. Cmon." She waved down a cab and got in, scooting over for sable and giving the cabbie the address.

Sable began to follow her, her heart pounding, she felt sick to think that this was real, that all those people would die. She wondered if it was enough explosives to destroy the entire building or just to cause damage like a warning. She spoke up, "Wait a minute! Snafu said he worked with explosives right? He was a specialist?" her mind was swimming, she had to make sure she recalled that right. She got into the cab sliding in next to Maddie.

"Yeah.....you think he could hunt down and diffuse the bombs? Call him." Maddie said, nodding to sable. "You call him and get him there asap and I'll let management know we need to do an evacuation." She got out her phone.

Sable searched for his number in her phone and dialed. The phone began to ring and with each one, Sable's anxiety increased. Finally she heard his soft, southern draw on the other line, "Hey, Sable."

"Hey... um..." she paused, unsure of what to say, "There are bombs in the hospital. We need your help."

"What?"

"Yeah, sorry I know this isn't the phone call you were expecting after last night, but Maddie and I received some intel about the hospital being bombed in order to stir up a gang war between the MSR and the West Crows."

"Intel? Gangs?" Snafu was trying to comprehend it all, "Who told you this?" Snafu was quiet for a second, "Who are you?"

"Please, just hurry." Sable said before hanging up. She didn't want to be questioned anymore, "Shit." she whispered. There was nothing favorable about this entire situation.

Maddie was trying to get through to the hospital but without any luck. As soon as the cab pulled up to the curb she got out and ran inside. She went to the emergency room desk and told the nurses there to start evacuating people immediately. When that process had begun to get underway (albeit slowly as some people were on life support) Maddie went to the supervising manager and emergency room on call doctor and told them what was going on. "Are you sure?" the supervisor asked, looking worried. "Look, sir, even if I was wrong and this hospital doesn't get blown to bits, I'm sure the bomb threat will eventually make it to the news. And do you really want it said that we sat here and did nothing because we weren't sure?" The supervisor nodded, looking thoughtful. He and the on-call doctor began making plans to move the patients to the nearest hospital, and contacting the rest of the departments to let them know that they should as well. Maddie went to the nurse's lounge and grabbed her scrubs out of her locker, changing into them and beginning the process of helping the patients evacuate. The nurses and doctors remained calm so as not to disturb their already-fragile patients.

Once at the hospital, Sable got out on the opposite side of the vehicle as Maddie took off in a flash, "Maddie!" she called after her, but the eager woman was already gone. Pulling some cash out of her pocket, she handed it to the cab driver without bothering to count, "Thanks." she said quickly before running after her into the hospital. Sable knew they hadn't yet called the police, but she didn't want to, she didn't trust them, and most certainly didn't want them here, then again, when she walked in and saw all of the people, she realized it was necessary hoping that the police would be informed and be there soon, especially Snafu. If anyone knew how to stop bombs, it was him. Sable wondered around looking for Maddie, but healthy people (visitors and employees) were rushing out the opposite direction. Sable pressed herself against a wall to let them pass.

Suddenly a loud bang went off somewhere in the far west corner of the hospital causing the walls to tremble shortly. Sable could feel the vibrations from the blast as people screamed and became more panicked. Sable was near crushed as people pushed and shoved past her toward the exit. Sick of it, Sable created a forcefield around the terrified mass of people, lifting them from their hallway jam and phased them through the wall. They were all released outside. Sable drew in a deep breath, that was a lot of power exerted, she felt dizzy as blood rushed to her head. Shaking it off, she made her way up to the intensive care unit, taking the stairs. She had to help them relocate the severe patients.

Inside, Maddie was yelling to be heard over the chaos that has ensued during the explosion. She was running back and forth, helping people evacuate and trying to keep them calm. It was pretty difficult. One of the staff members called the police for backup and help. Maddie looked around for sable and spotted her, looking exhausted. "SABLE!" she called ,making her way over here. "You should go. This isn't your responsibility and if snafu knew I let you stay in the line of fire, I think he'd be upset." She said, trying to usher the girl outside.

Sable stomped her foot, the floor cracking and pieces disintegrating under the pressure as she did, "Just shut up!" she screamed, her voice still barely audible over the panic and approaching sirend, "I'm not anybody fucking problem or property! If I choose to stay and help, that's my own choice!" she was tired of everyone looking out for her, worrying about her. She was an adult, and she could take care of herself. She didn't have to answer to anyone, that's why she left MSR, and if they thought she was going to sit idly by and watch as people died, they had another thing coming, "What do you need me to do?" Sable asked eager and ready to help.

"I need you to go tell Matt, Foggy and Karen. And I need you to keep your emotions under control. The bombers don't need any help destroying this place." Maddie snapped, walking off. she was sick of sable's attitude. She was like a stubborn child, and Maddie didn't have the time or patience to deal with it. She returned to helping evacuate the patients, hoping sable could keep out of the fray. ((I can't remember if I said that Maddie gets hurt. I think she should, it would be a catalyst for the fight between her and Matt. And there could be a scene where Wesley and Matt turn up at the same time to see her in the hospital.))

((Okay. Sable is going to get hurt, too. My original plan when I came up with the bombs was when Snafu comes in and saves her and everyone, he finds out she's a mutant when he sees her healing rapidly, how do you want Maddie to fit into that?))

((Maddie can be conscious just severely hurt and she tells snafu to get sable out before the building collapses, and then when he comes back for Maddie he can ask her about it and she can react. Not sure how she'll handle it yet but that's a possibility.))

((Wait... what? I am confused at your suggestion. And Snafu isn't going to just leave Maddie. He will take her with him to get Sable))

((Okay, so we should figure out how this is going to go down so we can be on the same page and it can all go smooothly))
