Marvel/Daredevil Roleplay

"Dude!" Maddie nearly spewed her coffee. "Well that escalated quickly. One second you hate him and the next you make out with him?!" She laughed.

"What can I say... He's really hot..." Sable said with a shrug, smirking as she sat down, "And I had fun with him. He made me promise to see him again."

Maddie shook her head. "I'm shocked. Oh well. I like him better than Ryder, that's for sure." She quipped, finishing her coffee. "So what's the plan for today? We going shopping?"

Sable shrugged in response to Maddie comment, replying softly, "You don't know him." She did miss Ryder. Her phone buzzed again, another text from Ryder, "Yeah... Um. That sounds great." She said as she read the text.

"What's the matter? Got a bottle call?" Maddie grinned, teasing again as she went to the sink to wash her coffee cup. "I was thinking of getting my hair cut too, and I really need to look for a few evening dresses. James keeps taking me to these fancy places even though I protest when he does, and I'm running out of outfits to wear." she made a face.

"I'd like to get some new outfits, too. It's time I start looking my age... Within reason. I'm not a dresses type of gal." Sable grinned. She made a face at Maddie's question, "What? No. It's Ryder... I don't know how he got my number."

Maddie frowned. "We know lawyers. So if he's bothering you, I'm sure we can get a restraining order put on him. Or a cease and desist. Your call, but if you need anything like that let me know." she offered, getting up to go change. "I'll be ready in a few." she said, disappearing into her room and closing the door. She checked her phone, only to find there were no new messages. She frowned. Maddie had figured Matt would come around within a day or two but he clearly wasn't backing down yet. And usually James texted her almost every morning to check in and see how she was doing. She had even drunk texted him last night at Josie's but he hadn't answered. She wondered if he was upset about something. 'Probably just busy.' she reassured herself, getting dressed.

Sable slipped on a black tank top and ripped up jeans with studs down the sides. They were a little big so she put on a studded belt with chain before cleaning off the rest of her makeup and reapplying the eyeliner, mascara, and red lip gloss. Fiddling with her hair after a few shakes, she was ready to go about 15 minutes later as she sat by the door and slid on her black flat boots.

Maddie walked out in skinny jeans and a red halter top, sliding on some leopard print flats. She hated wearing make up but she did put her hair up in a bun before grabbing her bag. "Okay let's go."

Maddie called a cab to get them to the hair salon, since there were shops up and down the street nearby. When it arrived she headed downstairs and held the door for sable.

Sable followed after her, "So what? You got another hot date coming up or something?" She asked as they headed past the salon. As they walked, she couldn't shake the vexing feeling that someone was watching her. Sable looked around shortly, trying not to make it too obvious, but she really did suspect something. Especially with Ryder texting her. The only way he would have known that she had even gotten a phone in the first place would be if he was watching her. The idea of him watching her wasn't necessarily a scary one. Sable knew she could handle him, but she didn't want any part in Ryder's world. The MSR world.

Maddie shook her head. "Not at the moment but if James asks me out again I will have nothing to wear. So I figure I better get something in case he does." She explained with a shrug. "I'm actually kind of surprised he hasn't texted me or something."

Maddie frowned. "A couple days. He generally texts me a couple times a day. Sometimes little jokes, sometimes just to see how I'm doing. It's odd that I haven't heard from him but he did say he would be pretty busy this week." She added with a shrug.

Sable looked concerned slightly, "I'm sorry..." she didn't know what to say... or what to suggest. Sable never really had a real relationship before and had no clue how it was supposed to work. She asked, "Have you contacted him yet?" her face contorted in confusion. She felt out of her element but wanted to help Maddie. She had come to see her as a friend, she had started to care for her, an unusual thing for Sable. She had always lived life very selfishly until now.

Maddie nodded. "I texted him a couple times but he hasn't answered. I figured he's just busy. No big deal." She flashed sable a smile. "I'll call him tonight. Don't look so concerned."

"Oh. Okay." Sable replied before looking away and dropping the subject. Honestly, she never trusted the man. She didn't really trust anyone who wore a suit, not with the suits she had met in her life, "Do you want to check out this store?" she pointed.

Sable smiled as she saw Maddie pick up the dress and drape it over her arm to take to the dressing room, "Well it's... a dress alright." Sable said with a shrug and toothy grin. Sable began to wander around, looking for something that was more her speed, 80s clothes seemed to do it. Leather, black, chains, studs, straps. She found a few accessories and picked a black choker up, flipping it over in her hands as she examined all sides of the accessory. As she was searching, Ryder appeared from behind a nearby rack. He approached her from behind wrapping his arms around her. The first thought appearing in her head was of Snafu. She hoped it was him, expected him, turning around with a grin, she saw it was Ryder and her smile immediately vanished, face dropping except for her eyebrows which arched upward in surprise,

"R-Ryder?" Sable gasped in her raspy voice, "What the hell are you doing?"

"I've missed you... so much." Ryder said. He hugged her.

Sable lightly patted his back with one arm when he hugged her, relieved when he stopped, "How'd you know I got a phone? How'd you get my number?"

"Did you just really just ask how a technokinetic mutant got your phone number?" he chuckled, "Let's get a bite to eat." he nodded toward the door of the store, "If you want anything just grab it and put it in my bag. I'll disable the anti theft tags." When Sable didn't move with him, he turned to look down at the small girl. She was staring up at him, her large, round hazel eyes wide, eyebrows bending toward one another. She didn't know how to respond, what to say, but obviously it was something upsetting. Ryder caught onto her expression and stated, "You're avoiding me..." he looked sad, hanging his head as he did.

Lifting her hand, Sable reached out to the tall young man. He was over a foot taller than her. She didn't look up at him, just down at the ground, "No, Ryder I..." she stopped, letting her hand fall down by her side.

"Sable, I know you've been trying to separate yourself from the MSR and Piper, but I didn't know you wanted to separate yourself from me, too." Ryder said sadly, his deep blues eyes appearing cooler than normal.

"It's not that, Ryder." Sable replied as she grabbed her left arm below the elbow, rubbing her forearm slightly out of nervous habit.

"Really?" he spoke suspiciously. He scoffed, "Then what is it?"

"Not that!" Sable growled balling her hands into fists and glaring up at him.

"Then what?" he snapped back.

Sable crossed her arms turning away in a huff. She remained hard for a few seconds before her posture and expression softened. She felt remorseful. Turning back to Ryder she opened her mouth to speak and try to explain herself and apologize when he grabbed her arms and pulled her into him. Bending over to kiss her, he pressed his lips on hers causing her to stumble back into one of the racks of dresses. Old feelings and fires began to sear up inside her as she wrapped her arms around him, kissing him back.

Maddie came out of the dressing room in the red dress with no straps and an A line skirt. "Hey sable what do you think of-" she cut off as she saw Ryder missing sable. "Ahh..." She cleared her throat awkwardly.

Sable pulled away from Ryder when she heard Maddie, pushing him away roughly as she did. She turned away from him, crossing her arms.

"Saybey." Ryder reached out to her, "I don't understand why you're acting this way."

"It's it any different than how I normally act?" She shot back.

Ryder thought for a second and shrugged, "Yeah a little. What's going on?" He looked from Maddie to Sable hoping some one would answer.

"Nothing." Sable rolled coolly, her back to him. She looked at Maddie with an almost apologetic expression.

Maddie frowned, clearing her throat. "I think you should go Ryder." She stated it simply without emotion. She wasn't going to tell him sable liked snafu. That was sable's business. But she still wasn't happy that he had decided to jump on sable during her and Maddie's day out. 'Now sable's gonna be upset all day.' Maddie thought with an internal groan. Poor kid.

Ryder looked at Maddie, then Sable whose and were still crossed, back to him, then back to Maddie, then finally Sable, "I see what's going on here. So you think you're too good for us now? Think you can just abandon your friends and your old life like it never happened? You're betraying everyone you ever knew. Everyone who made you who you are."

Sable didn't say anything, honestly, He was right. What could she saw? Either way, her actions were purely selfish. She had no way to justify them, "Ryder why did you really come here?"

Ryder spelled at Sable, grabbing her shoulder roughly and turning her around to face him, "to deliver a message." He said coldly forcing the envelope in her hand, "If you even give a shit about any of your old friends."

"Hey! Hands off her. Unless you want me to call the cops. Or kick your ass myself." Maddie snapped, hands on her hips. The store owner went to the phone on the counter, unsure if there was going to be an altercation.

Ryder gave Maddie an almost amused expression as if she was in no way of a threat to him, and in his eyes, she wasn't. But he had no intentions of hurting Sable, sure they handled each other roughly, always have. It was on both sides. The only way Sable knew how to handle an altercation was with screaming or physical violence. Ryder wasn't as bad as her, but he could return what she dished out.

"It's fine. I pushed him first." Sable said simply as Ryder slowly let go of her arm, staring down at her. Sable continued, "What's your message?"

Ryder looked nervous at first, unsure if he should give it with Maddie sitting there, but ultimately decided, what's one girl going to do? Besides, if Sable trusted her, than Ryder supposed he should branch out a little. He cleared his throat and spoke, "Let's go somewhere more private."

"Maddie comes, too." Sable said.

"That's fine." Ryder groaned, scratching the back of his head.

"She's cool." Sable said to reassure him.

Maddie went to the dressing room and changed into her clothes before heading out into the store. She waited for sable and Ryder to lead the way, standing with her arms crossed.
