What had been months seemed like a blurred nightmare to Rae. It'd been one thing to have Sun just cut her off, but losing Edward had made her hollow and broken. She'd never told a soul about anything. And then, there were these... eyes. She dreamt about them, and saw them randomly, crimson, burning, and watching. She was too depressed to be scared, though.
She forced a smile when Mike began to speak with her, something he'd done a lot since Edward left. "Spring break already?" She asked, hardly aware. "I don't really have plans. Netflix, maybe." She laughed weakly, sighing as she tried to help put a table away.
---
"Whaaat? Nah, she looks like her beautiful mommy," Jacob said uncharacteristically, his grin pearly white and bright.
She so looks like me!
He was so at ease since the Cullens left their lair and broke their toy. There were fewer morphs, no animosity, and he and Sonya had no drama, no need to worry, and thus... had a baby. It was a time of such peace with so little need to patrol or change, he felt... normal.
"You look exhausted, babe. Promise you'll rest when we get home?" He asked. He refered to her father's house as home at the moment, Ivan had been very considerate and supportive of their decision, you know, once he got past trying to persuade Sun not to, which Jake let slide. They were house searching, which was a mature step for him, but Sam, Emily, Billy and just about everyone else was on board and very helpful.
