Futuristic Life With Artificial Intelligence (Open)

Just before Tom could walk further, a vibration on his phone stopped him. It was a text message. He curiously checked the message out.

"Your A.I. has arrived. Please collect it and fulfill the formalities."

You gotta be kidding me! Now of all times?? Shit! But, no I can't leave me job in between. I'll try collecting him through a call.

Tom immediately called the number he received the text from. After a couple rings, the man on the other side picked up the call.

After a deep breath, he started speaking,

"
This is Tom Iora. I'm working right now. Can you do me a favour?"......

"Oh, Yes Thank you" after addressing the delivery man Vincent turned his attention towards the A.I "Hello, I’m Vincent Blackthorn you're assigned partner if that wasn't already obvious, please do come in" After ushering the female looking Gynoid inside Vin moved towards to living room expecting that the A.I will do the same. Deciding that his usually demeanor could be quite off putting he diced to try and restrain himself since that would probably turn out more beneficial in the long run. Having come to a decision in his mind Vincent addressed the A.I again but this time in slightly more upbeat tone but also some wonderment in it "I hope you take no offence but I'm surprised by how Human you look. Don’t get me wrong I expected that to some degree but not by so much then again I’m fairly new to the city and had only heard rumors until now." He may have overdone it a little but he was certain that his skills were good enough to make this believable. As he was thinking about that Vin sat on one of armchair on the side of the sofa and made an unconsciousness gesture with his hand towards the couch for the A.I to sit.

"Oh, thank you Sir."

Eva sat down on the sofa and adjusted her seating. She'd never really been in a comfortable bed or anything of the sort since Cord couldn't compile enough money for things like this. She sank into the cushions of the couch and stayed silent for a little.

"I know I look human. But I like to think myself as one. Even though I like 'playing' human a lot I feel like an actual girl. Y'know? Also I want to talk to you about my previous partner. He is a Modalak unit. Shells notorious for being medium AI quality and high durability. They're war robots if you didn't know. Anyways, he was fitted with a top-notch cyberbrain which allowed him to be as human as me. He still looks like a robust battle droid, though."

Ea fiddled with her thumbs and glanced down at her boots once more.

"I miss him. I really want to see him again but for all I know he could be miles away..."

She looked out a nearby window and sighed, clusters of skyscrapers visible in the distance.

"Yo, anyone home?"

Cord beat on the door and growled. He hated waiting, more so when it was for something he needed to do but didn't want to. The absence of his new assignment made fury boil inside him, causing him to lash out at a nearby stop sign. The whole bar supporting the sign snapped like a twig when Cord hit it.

"God dammit. When is this guy gonna arrive?"

@Cez Bloodblade

After finishing his explanation Brandon waited for a response but he didn't receive one. Deciding it was time to get on with the rest of the day he spoke up again, "I should be getting to work. You are welcome to follow or wonder about as you please." He then turned and continued the direction that Jack had walked off in.

Jack was back in the assembly line room reviewing order sheets to make sure deliveries were being made on time and to the right people. After thoroughly scanning through another list he set it in a small stack of papers and picked up another to review. There wasn't much else to do after the release of the new AI until people possibly came back with complaints or until they were ready to star designing a newer and better version. However that wouldn't be for a while since the new models were just released today. @Lima

While Scarlet busied herself with the lock, Johnathan took another look at the nearby delivery vehicle and area around it. Mainly because he wouldn't be of much assistance with the lock, but also because seeing someone peel off their 'skin' slightly surprised him and he didn't care to show as much. Whether he was being tactful or just a bit squeamish even John himself didn't quite know. It was perhaps just one of those oddities he'd learn to get used to. The blond supposed any partner, issued or not, would have their own quirks.

"There are some sort of prints here. I've taken photos of them." While unexpected it was certainly useful. “Good job, maybe we can find some matches in the departments database.” The detective noted just before Scarlet revealed her crucial findings on the scrambled lock. “You're positive its not just some malfunction, right?” he asked automatically, though John had already made up his mind about it and was thinking of their next steps.

The prints would take a while to run and he'd have to check in for his patrol duty later anyhow. The route was also not strictly enforced so they could easily come by again and check nearby facilities for similar signs, plus it would be near curfew so the chance of bumping into their would be criminal was much greater... all in all he had a rough plan and best of all it allowed for a few precious hours of downtime. “No sense in chasing ghosts in the daylight, so is there anything else you want to do in the meantime?” he noted with a bit of humor, finding himself wondering just what t was AI's did aside from work.

@Scarlet Fires

"Positive." The AI replied, "A malfunction would at most scramble the code but not break it apart. There were pieces missing. You'll see later, I took images of the code as well. Not to mention there was something clearly forced into the lock. It could be possible that whatever our guy was using it was the wrong tool, too big." She explained based on her knowledge of code and her observation of the lock. Despite being new to the job, and well life in general, the AI felt like she was doing rather well for her first time out.

“No sense in chasing ghosts in the daylight, so is there anything else you want to do in the meantime? Scarlet thought on the question for a moment. Was there anything she wanted to do? She hadn't really thought about it before, she always figured she would just need to do as she was told. "Uhmmm... what is there to do?" She asked. It was a work day so there was probably only so much they could do while at work. @Fenris

Winter gave him a friendly smile, "Oh, of course! Just follow me, I have a spare room in my flat." He seemed trustworthy enough. And if not...

Well, she'd take care of it.

She checked out the essay she'd been viewing, and it transferred to her data pad, which she promptly put in her trusty satchel. She bid the stranger come with her, and led him off to her home, about a block away.

The contrast between the brunettes astonishing analytically ability and her nativity were throwing Johnathan off as he kept trying to find his usual equilibrium. Listing a mixture of tv tropes and his own interests might not be the ideal choice, but for now it was all he could come up with. “There's a shooting range near the station we're authorized to use and a mall with a decent music store as well as some electronic shops, probably some clothing outlets between here and there as well...”

Normally he'd probably drop by his apartment, but it was currently hardly in the state to accommodate guests. The thought summoned the hint of a frown whch vanished as quickly as it had appeared as he continued, “Ayrona University isn't too far off either and they have a respectable library and park, at least from what I remember. Anyhow, it would probably beat standing around in this alley; I think the dumpster smell is getting to me.” He ended with what might have been his worst attempt at encouragement yet.

Terra went with her, smoking. "What's your name?"

"Winter Sixx." She explained with a small smile. The 'Six' or, 'Sixx' had come from her bar code. Quite the stroke of genius combined with improvisation.

"And you are?"

Terra struck out a hand. "Terra. Terra Hax," He smirked in a sexy manner. Might as well try and seduce her while he was with her. Be good to have her clinging to him.

(Terra. Terra Hax. I call hax, Terra Hax.

Also...

that little perv! lmao)

Alkaline scrutinized the boy for a second but followed. "I was slightly hoping to help someone who is actually impaired for some reason. Gives me more of a purpose I suppose." He scrunched up his face when the two met up with the other boy. Alkaline glanced over the papers with dull annoyance. "You humans are really irritating. You can never stop trying to improve and meddle." He snorted and gazed around the room with dull interest.

@HandsomeJack

Scarlet perked up with interest upon hearing the different options. 'Music....' The AI mulled over the thought. She knew what music was though she couldn't recall ever hearing any before. She continued to try racking through her systems to find anything that could be considered music but came up with nothing. Was she really that inexperienced in life that she hadn't even heard a single musical note before? Feeling rather uncomfortable with herself again the AI made her decision, "The music store sounds like it could be and interesting adventure..... I unfortunately can't recall ever hearing music before." Her mind wondered back to her thought earlier about the car and how she is some kind of strange medium between humans and machines. She tried her best to not let her discomfort show but once again she found her own existence unsettling.

Realizing there had been a lapse of silence, mostly likely on her part, Scarlet decided to try and bring her focus back to where they were.
"And you're right we should probably get away from the dumpsters before our clothes start to pick up the smell as well." The brunette commented and began to lead the way out of the back alley. @Fenris

Jack looked to the AI, "It's how we survive. If we don't improve and adapt to changing times then eventually nature out does us and we die. However the more we develop scientifically and technologically the more we can do to improve things like medicine to heal the sick. I know that's not exactly what we are doing here... but it is what Brandon and I are going to school for." Jack explained as best as he could as he continued to look over the order forms.

Brandon watched his friend for a moment, there weren't many order forms left to help with leaving him with no work to do for the time being. His mind then wondered back to his secret project and a book he needed to check out from the library. Despite Brandon not agreeing with his father's way, he did one day plan to take over the company and turn into something better. Something that wasn't just for profit. Something beneficial. So he had been working on a few ideas of his own for when that day came. "Jack, it seems you have just about finished both of our work for the day. If you don't mind I think I'll leave you to finish up while I take a trip down to the library. There's a book I've been meaning to pick up."

"Not all go ahead. Will your... friend be going with you?" Jack realized he hadn't stuck around long enough to hear the AI's name and he felt it would be rude to refer to him as anything but.

"It's up to him. Alkaline? What would you like to do?" Brandon asked directing his attention to the seemingly bored.... man. @Lima

"Oh thank you Miss Young but I don't have to eat like people do. However, I am capable of doing so if it would make you feel more comfortable?" Blaze replied politely with a smile. He found Sadzi to be a sweet girl and he honestly wouldn't mind helping her out at all. In fact it just gave him more of a drive to be careful while busy with his schemes so that nothing would trace back to him or her. Besides in a way helping her would be helping himself. If things we traced back to him he would disassembled and wiped from existence. @Whale

You know whats better than ice cream? Nothing—Atleast for him. Though it was a pain in the ass when it melted inside of him and it caused his systems to go hire wire for a bit. But oh, the flavor…the texture…the color! Ice cream was just perfect. What wouldn’t he give for some ice cream right now…Though unfortunately, he was being chased by a gang of men who wanted to literally break him apart. Oh and no, this wasn’t new—He…kind of had a reward over his head. But don’t think it was because he was some kind of criminal or something, it was the opposite—He WAS running away from some criminals. And every time he would think he was safe and sound, they would show up again. Sigh…Such an annoying cycle. When were they going to quit this nonsense!? That’s what Chessy wondered as he ran down the streets, maximum speed and yet, they couldn’t catch up with him even if they were on motorcycles. He held his hat in his mouth, holding himself back from looking behind him.

Focus on the objective.

That’s right, on getting these people off his tail.

The young man turned, almost crashing into a fruit stand that was at the corner which earned him an annoyed yell from its owner. But then three motorcycles zoomed by so close that the man though he was going to get run over. Chester almost wanted to apologize to him but…well…right now wasn’t a good idea.

He then let out a breath, quickly skidding onto the next turn before he took impulse and parkoured up to the roof of a lower building, making the men on the motorcycle come to an abrupt stop. He had lost them…For now. “G-GAH!!” BANG BANG BANG!! The bullets brushed by his feet, bouncing up the concrete roof. This time, Chester did look back and his blue eyes widened when he saw one of the men already running at him. O-oh that’s nice! One of them was a freaking robot too! And he was shooting bullet out of his arm! Okay…Okaaaaaaayyyyyyy! This was going to be harder than he thought.

At the edge of the roof, he jumped down and landed on the ground below with a loud “THUD” Making an old woman who was passing by jump in startle. He didn’t have time to say anything, Chester just smiled at her and sprinted forwards.

Now...where to run...

Talon sat at his masive desk. 2 monitors in front of him with 1 on either side of those but angled towards him. 4 more monitors dirctly above the others in the same positons but angled down also. This was Talons lab, security room ad everything he needed. Talon was not his real name but its what the public called this notorious hacker who semed to commit crimes just for the fun of it. Today he would be geting his 3rd AI. he had 2 others but they werent technically AIs, just heavily programed robots. this 3rd AI would be the real deal and he was quite excited.

(Wait... would they know they were "paired" if they just saw each other or wouldn't that not apply since he's not... officially paired... anymore? It didn't look like it would be the case with the other AIs, but... eh, Chester could be "special", especially since most of the other AIs don't know how to eat in general, or just don't, and Chester loves ice cream. Dunno.)

As Ilydia kept walking, she was mildly aware she was getting off track, but she didn't mind because she knew she wasn't lost, and she wasn't really in a hurry. She remembered the first time she got here, she had no idea where she was constantly and would flinch every time a hover passed over her, and now she was glad she'd gotten used to the city. She was distracted momentarily by a commotion- but she didn't see it, she heard it. Somewhat. She kept walking, hopefully away from whatever that was, except maybe it was important or something?

Ilydia really did barely NOT lose her shit when gunshots rang out, seemingly partially silenced but clearly near her. She looked around hurriedly and, seeing whatever was SHOOTING the bullets was nowhere to be seen, hurried on. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a man running away from another one, who was shooting at him. She decided not to focus on the details, like when she noticed they were both AIs, but except maybe the one shooting was a cyborg of a sort. Because, well, that was not an ordinary gun in his hands.

Literally IN his hands.

She follows them, walking briskly and keeping them well in sight. Why? No idea. But she kept walking anyways, not tiring from the walking, to her credit, but not sure what she should do. Should she stop the man with the gun and perhaps buy the man some time? Or maybe the man was a criminal? She had no idea anymore.

She smiled contently, "Mhm~!" She gestured to her place, which was within a tall apartment building that looked rather nice and new.

"Come on in." She held open the door, and up an elevator they went to the third floor. Room 383, a suprisingly nice little abode.

"Welcome in! Feel free to make yourself at home, your room is down the hall...pick any guest room you'd like."

Terra nodded, and looked about. One had a nice bed, and a single window. He nodded. "I'll take this one. Hey, Winter, mind staying with me for a bit?" he asked her. He sat down on the bed.
