Anyway, as I was saying, I'm liking the brand-new sneak peek into what's to come with the Desert Kingdom chapter. Harly the Kid and Amber Anema are two intriguing characters who seem like they'll be captivating in the roleplay and most likely vital to the new chapter. I've already got the feeling that they're versatile in battle but delving deeper into their character, have a less superficial layer involving their pasts or how they see and experience life. This layer reveals more of their character, and I love that both of you incorporated that into the sheets.

Right off the bat, I feel bad for Harly. He lost everything he loved and knew, then was forced to spend his childhood fighting to survive on his own with no one there to guide him. Even coming to the point where he had to take a life at such a young age, which is why he sees murder as a normal thing. It's never good when you've become accustomed to murder, so it's sad to see that it's become sort of infectious in his life. That trauma of abandonment and such an early loss of innocence seemed to have done a number on him.

Aside from that, I also find his arsenal to be really cool. I like that they're exclusive—definitely not weapons with common designs and purposes. The way you managed to incorporate his sand control into useful and deadly tactics that an enemy would never see coming, as well as constructing handy purposes The sand that works as a silencer and a glass scope; the sand bullet that explodes into a sheet of glass that surrounds enemies; sandstone bullets. They're interesting constructs.

Cold line right there.

And then Amber gives off a "heavy hitter that'll crack your spine in two" kind of vibe but is also a more wholesome woman that'll give extensive care for those around her, even though she looks intimidating. And just as Harly was, Amber is another victim of the fall of the Desert Nation. I can't wait to learn more about this event and how it unfolded because from what I can tell, it was catastrophic for the lives of many.

Amber also has a move-set that I love. Especially the "Elemental Infusing" trait. Her allies are LUCKY to have her by their side in battle. Imagine the number of tactics and unpredictable attack patterns they must be able to create just by making a melting pot of magic types with hers. This is probably one of my favorite things about Amber's sheet. You two think of such creative ways for your characters to use their magic; it's absolutely awesome.

In Amber's background, you revealed a more realistic and relatable side to her, Kumii. She showed pity and compassion to Harly when she first met him, also vowing to protect him, even though she knew he was from the royal family, which she lacked trust in or assurance toward. This goes back to where you stated that Amber has a "mother-type personality", which I agree with..

I also like the detail of Amber constantly fixing her appearance, even during battle. It's a common thing people do in real life, so it adds a sense of her being relatable and seeming more human.

In all, enjoyed reading both character sheets and can't wait to see them in the roleplay. I wanna know what their part in the chapter will be like. Great job with this duo.

(also, I assume that Kurok has a character sheet on the way?)
Awww, thank you Shark! You truly are the biggest fuel for my ego lol Glad Harly was received well.

Yep, Kurok will be coming, as will all the other Shifting Shepherds. It's just that I had Harly's sheet done for a while, but I never posted it for some reason. Kumii coming up with Amber kind of prompted me to finally put it up. Expect some more Shifting Shepherds to come along the way.
I told Alpha that I hadn't seen anyone with weather control do the Infusing so it's a unique thing to Amber right now. Infusing is also where a bulk of her damage will come from so she relies on her allies to provide to the Fire, Water, Electric or Ice to Elementally Infuse her attacks.
Don't mean to burst your bubble with this, but Mateo actually has a similar ability. It's not on his sheet right now, but it'll be coming with his new and improved sheet. Remember the battle with the Headless Horseman? Well, he was attacking them with like a fire strike, and Mateo used the winds to send the attack back at him and infused the winds with the fire. His is more to redirect an attack back at his enemy, but he does have something similar to what Amber can do.

Well, I meant the infusion part. Like you said, that was more of a redirect. Amber takes one of the four elements listed and makes it her own with it's own effects and everything.

Amber's Infusions are more akin to a small degree of elemental manipulation

Ah, gotcha.
Though, it's not like she cancels the attack that her Winds become infused. Her kit is very much Supportive Damage oriented.

Mateo's are more of reflective type of damage. Both are unique. Mateo's are a bit stronger then other redirections though. Minus Harlequin, Mateo was able to cancel and redirect the Horseman's flaming sword flames back at him, which isn't an easy feat.

Wanna know something broken?

The Death Scythe's Godslayer's Blackflame is considered a fire attack.

Amber's Elemental Infusing would interact with it.

Amber's Wind attacks would not only get the benefits of the Fire Infusions but also the benefits of the Blackflame.

Yeah, his biggest damage is magic and magic artifacts, since he doesn't really have any weapons for regular damage. Trust me his new weather magic plays on this way better than it did before.

Dont steal my Infusing idea!

I'm kidding, I dont care if you use something like that lol

I'm trying to figure out how old Amber was when she met Harly lol

My brain doing the math: Amber is 35. Harly is 21. 35 - 21 is 14. So there's a 14 year age gap between Amber and Harly. Harly was 12 and Amber met him then. 21 - 12 is 9. So I take Amber's age of 35 minus 9 and I get 24. Amber was 24 when she met Harly.

Also my brain: *Exploding*

Math was not my strong suite... as you can see cause that answer is still wrong lol

I also realized that could've just taken the age gap and added that to the age she met Harly at and got 26.

Why did I make that more complicated then it needed to be?

Do you guys want Natalie to get involved in Rayya and Kaius' side? Just asking plot wise, because I feel like it might be stretched out if she joins in, possibly with Lark as well. Because after the fight the two will definitely get scrutinized and taken into custody, especially with Rayya. You know Natalie's history with the elven saints. If not, I'll probably have Natalie get there just as they leave and only catch a small glimpse of them as they're escaping from the scene of the crime with a kidnapped dragon kid lol

That is if Rayya lets them do that lol They're not the type to go quietly.

I was planning ending soon though so, I'd say hold off on it.

I'm cool with that, and it'd make sense considering that it's her duty as the (temporary) leader to investigate. We can do what Kumii said and hold off since the battle will end in, well, basically the next post. I'm also cool with either outcome of her arrival, whether it's the arrest or Natalie spotting them.
