Kill Nothing but Time

Intro
Welcome to Kill Nothing but Time group lore! This lore will be broken up into sections: locations, history, important NPCs, information on the current 'mystery', information on important past events, how posting works, and a FAQ section where I'll put answers to questions to people ask just in case someone has a similar question.

Mystery note: there are two types of mysteries: arcs and small mysteries. Arc mysteries are the main mysteries of the group, and generally will affect all characters. Small mysteries can be run into characters as they run around the grounds + forest and by request to me.

Current Mystery
Mystery 1: The Wailing Woman

Mystery Information
N/A; nothing has been found yet

Important NPCs
These are the names of a couple of NPCs that will appear throughout the course of the group, whether they're in person or someone from the old camp who left clues behind. When they'll pop up will either depend on the current arc or character exploration; some are in specific areas of the property and can be found if characters go to those locations. They will be played as full characters by me, so seeking them out for information, general interaction, or anything else is absolutely in the ballpark with them! NPC bios will be set up as Name | Location They're In (If Any) | Brief Description.

  • Locations
These are the current known locations of the camp and the area surrounding it! More areas can be found, however; feel free to come to me asking about places on the map your character can explore and find things in. When a new location is found, it'll be placed here!

    The Wilderness
Emerly Lake | Emerly Lake is the lake the camp sits beside, and is one of the main draws of the property. A popular camp activity is to take out the kayaks and canoes onto the water.
Clemsburrough Meadow | The meadow is where the camp holds nightsky watching activities. It's a grassy field with plenty of different types of flowers
Langher Pond | This is a smaller body of water. No one tends to take out boats, since the mud and weeds are thick and it's hard to actually get out into the water. It seems to be the breeding ground for frogs.
Seven Stones Falls | One of the wonders of the woods is a small set of 2 waterfalls that's a bit into the woods and that supplies water to the creek.
Laurent Creek | This creek runs from all the way from the falls to the lake.
Lawood Bog | The bog is a mostly-treeless area of the property. People have walked in it and fallen into a pit of mud up to their waist. No doubt there's plenty of lost shoes all around the location.
The Forest | The forest is the majority of the area, and is generally separated into two parts: deciduous and coniferous.
Firewatch Tower B | There used to be a Firewatch Tower A, but it's long since fallen apart. Firewatch Tower B remains, but as an off-trail location that's quite precarious, people are warned against going to it.
Lake Trail | This trail circles the lake. It's a pretty long walk; an hour or two trek if you're fast walking.
Bog Trail | This trail leads to the bog, then around it in a loop, culminating in a loli-pop style trail. It takes about 15 minutes to walk the 'stick' of the trail, then 45 minutes to walk the look, ending in it being about an hour and 10 minute trip.
Sunset Overlook Trail | This trail leads to Sunset Overlook, and elevated part of the property that can see above the tree line and is great for watching the sun go down. It's an in and out trail, about 15 minutes there and 15 back.
Seven Stones Trail | This trail leads to the waterfalls and is a loop tail. It takes about 3 hours to complete.
Blue Trail | This is a simple through-the-woods trail that loops starting from the cabins. It passes by Langher pond. Its an easy 2-hour hike.
Yellow Trail | The yellow trail is one of the more difficult trails, a little more bumpy and a little longer. It's a loop that branches from the blue trail and goes along the creek for a bit. Its around a 3 hour hike.
Red Trail | The red trail is the hardest trail, and is the one that passes by Firewatch Tower B. It takes around 4 hours to hike and is a loop.

    The Camp
The Arts Cabin | The arts cabin is where the art supervisor both resides and works. It has a room that goes off of the main area for the supervisor to reside in, and then the main area has tables and craft supplies.
The Rec Cabin | The rec cabin is where the rec supervisor resides. There's a room that's off the main area where the supervisor can reside, and then the main area house rec activity equipment like sports gear, jerseys, and more.
The Big House | The big house is the main house where the cook and security reside. It has a big main room for eating indoors, a game room for board games and meetings, some extra rooms, the kitchens, and the rooms for cook and security.
The Groundkeepers Cabin | This cabin isn't open to the kids and is where the groundskeeper resides. It has a room for resting, as well as a workspace, kitchen, and storage.
The Medical Cabin | This is where the medical supervisor resides. There's a room off the main area that acts as a bedroom, then a main space with storage for medical gear and a few beds and such.
Cabin #1 | The first of the cabins for the kids. There's a room for the counselor to sleep in.
Cabin #2 | The second of the cabins for the kids. Its layout is the same as the first.
Cabin #3 | The third of the cabins for the kids, with the same layout. Its the furthest from the main area of the camp.
Cabin #4 | Cabin #4 was supposed to be for the kids, but since not enough signed up, it was given to the researchers and the ranger. It has the same layout.
The Pavilion | Outdoor seating for activities, eating, and more.
The Firepit | The firepit sits on the lake with wooden bench seating around it and a couple of swing chairs.
The Archery Range | A fun addition is the archery range, where kids can take the time to learn how to use the bows in the rec cabin, so long as they have supervision.
The Garden | The garden is actually a 'sensory' garden, with plants to entertain the senses (touch, smell, taste, sight; hearing isn't included because they couldn't figure out a way to do it). It's taken care of by the groundskeeper and thus is by their cabin.
The Docks | The docks are where canoes can be launched, people can swim, and more! There's a rack of boats right by it that are free for use.

    Misc. Locations
Sunnyshores Camp for Wilderness Fun | The original campgrounds. Most of it has been burned to the ground, but some of the standing buildings have had nothing in them touched, like time capsules. No one has really been to it in years.
Campgrounds | The old tent campgrounds for non-Sunnyshores guests. People used to either take the road to Sunnyshores in and then camp here, or hike in from a nearby town, but that was for only the most extreme since its about a 50 mile trek. Funnily enough, though, there seem to be some tents put up there at the moment.
