Realistic or Modern Just a Petty Criminal

Lee shrugged at Alexander's defensive reply. "Sure, whatever you say. Yeah, you did catch her, though. I'm almost surprised you're alive there, Marissa." Lee chuckled dryly. "When Davin flew out of here to go after you, he was pretty worked up." Lee sighed. Maybe "worked up" was a bit f an understatement, but Lee hadn't been all that surprised. Davin looked out for people, and he had taken Alexander under his wing pretty quickly. So naturally, he felt the need to protect the kid. And in the process of avenging the petty theft, he had recruited another member. Now there were five of them, assuming Davin was bringing Liam back. Lee turned back to her computer and glanced at it. Nothing looked unusual. She sighed a little to herself and rested her head on the table. All I wanted was to go to some stupid art exhibit...was that too much to ask for?

Davin exhaled heavily upon the blade dropping from his neck. He grabbed Will and held him tightly. "Ypu are not my lackey. You are my heart." He sobbed, attracting the looks of many people. "I'll call this off and we can leave. I'll do that for you." He whispered, gripping the man tighter than he ever had.

As soon as the runner left, another man walked in. One of his surveillance guys, a fellow by the name of James.

"Yo, boss. You know Marissa? Her dad, the Lamount scum or whatever the f***?"

"Yes?"

"We just saw her near that Dav guy's apartment."

"Remind her who's in charge. Wreck her apartment. Break the glass, take a s*** on her pillows, whatever makes you happy."

"I'll send some guys right away, sir."

Marissa promised that she would get Alexander the rest and once she was introduced to Lee she nodded and smiled. She decided that she would try to stay back in the cut and didn't want to rustle any feathers. She smiled at how everyone seem to be acting, although she was still on the fence about this Davin character. Could he really pull off something like taking Leon down? She could see that he had potential to grow into a gigantic force, but just because there is potential doesn't necessarily mean that it will come to fruition.

She laughed as Alexander was jabbed about be taken by a girl, and smiled with approval. "I'm not just a pick-pocket, that's simply a side hobby, though I'm extremely good at, I'm more of a sleight of hand specialist, but pick-pocketing does keep the money flowing, especially working at the casino."

Liam shook his head sadly. "No. No you don't have to do that," he said. As much as he wanted to take Davin up on the offer, he knew the man was in too deep. The only way out was to win, and Liam decided he would everything in his power to help. If Leon laid one hand on Dav's head, he would flay the drug lord alive, as nothing was going to keep him away anymore.

"I...I love you," he said, the words sounding so foreign to him, and he let his head fall forward into Davin's chest, letting a warmer, more soothing emotion take him over. "And I'm sorry..."

"God, I love you! Jerk, ypu threw a knife at me." Davin kissed Will, first timidly but then it grew into a full blow make out session. The people continued to stare, but Dav didn't really give a fuck. He pulled back, smiling. "I missed that." he laughed out loud.

"Great, now will you get off? I can't feel my toes," Liam grumbled, shoving at the man halfheartedly. He was still a bit overwhelmed with the whole exchange, and still a little shaky from the drastic change of emotion in a split second. He would try to feel for Dav, but for the moment, the man had reached his limit, and was mentally drained. Plus, the whispers and stares from passerby were getting on his nerves - quickly.

"Sure." Davin smiled, standing up and holding his hand out for Will. He'd finally gotten the man back, at all ends. Which meant he'd have to give up the drugs.

The drugs.

Will had to have known, and the itch was back again. He prayed the man hadn't noticed. It didn't bode well the first time and he wasn't confident it would go so well when he'd tell Will that he'd relapsed.

Davin picked looked down at his phone, on the ground. The call was still going and he was totally unaware of who the call was from. The soundless background freaked him out. So many things were happening at once ad he hoped he could bring everything to a close--fast.

"Daaaaviiiin. Daaaviiiiin." Leon cooed into the phone, trying to get the man's attention back. "Come on, Davy-boy. You're wasting my time with every second you don't answer me. I might just have to shave some time off the life your life to make up for it. Or maybe I'll get it from your guy friend you've got there instead."

Leon had had the call traced during the silence. He knew the street Davin was currently on, and had even gotten hold of a camera feed showing the man on screen.

"Who. The hell. Is that?" Liam demanded to know, looking at Davin's phone in disgust. It had been only two damn minutes they'd been back together, and already people were threatening to kill them. He would have killed for a couple days of peace...really. But what were the odds of that happening?

Davin picked up the phone and collected himself before answering. "Is this who I think it is? Because, you sound way brattier than I imagined." he toyed, motioning for Will to get up and follow.

The street that Lee was supposed to be watching was a block away, and he was glad he'd had the inclination for her to set up a bug within their own programming. They'd have to shut down the whole system to find her, if they could detect her tech.

"So, what do I owe this call with threats of my death?" he asked, walking at a brisk pace and cursing himself for leaving without his gun.

"Just a rumor, kid. Just a rumor." Leon murmured, his eyes locked intently on the camera feed. "To be frank with you, Davin, I don't take kindly to upstarts. Now, I'd give you an example, but I'm sure you're more than aware of what happens to people who get ideas around here." He continued, searching for another camera feed to latch onto as Davin left the first. There didn't seem to be any with a good angle on him.

The end of Liam's nose twitched as he realized who Davin must have been talking to. It made him uneasy, to say the least, and he pocketed the fallen knife before taking Dav's hand, just in case. He'd had a feeling they were being watched, and Leon's words just confirmed it, making Liam even more frustrated when the guy blatantly threatened them as they walked. Oh, he was going to enjoy it when he got his hands on the drug lord...

"Whatever could you possibly be speaking of?" Davin said, feigning innocence. "I know what your methods are for eliminating competition. And I'm sure you know the ends I would go to in the effort of gerting what I want." Both names were obviously prominent in the city. It humored Davin that it took so long for him to become a person of interest. "Let's be honest with each other, love. It's easier that way."

Lee sat up again and allowed her attention to return to the computer. "Huh..." she muttered as her fingers started moving. She clicked on a couple of the tabs and narrowed her eyes. "Someone's trying to get into the cameras we have..." She glared at the screen as she saw the movement trying to pick apart the protective system she had put up. Whoever this person was knew what they were doing, but thankfully hadn't figured out how to get through yet. Lee started making other preparations as backup, and if all else failed, she could just kill the system. But she didn't think that would be necessary. Guessing by the current activity, they still had quite a bit of time before the mystery hacker could break through. "Not today, pal. Not on my watch."

Lilian took the money and then the package and left the room. She looked down at the address on the card and the name she had to deliver to. She knew where this place was actually, so no need to get further instructions it seemed. She walked out of the building, and started walking over there immediately, one hand on her pocket protectively to protect the money that was in there. She lifted the hood of her worn jacket and held the package with her other hand.

She walked down the street with package. It looked a little too nice beside a woman like her, but besides that she didn't look too misplaced. Hopefully.

Alexander nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Davin looked pretty pissed," he agreed and went over to the couch and dropped down in the cushions with a sigh. He looked over at Marissa for a moment, and then back to Lee who was working on her computer. "Hm? Someone breaking in? Well, it's kind of lousy work if you know that they are doing it," he commented and glanced at the screen, not that he would know half of what she was doing.

He took out some of the weed that Marissa had given him and started rolling up a joint with some of the paper that he always carried with him. "Why would someone want to break in?" he questioned, licking one side of the paper before closing the joint up.

Leon shifted around in his chair, searching for a more comfortable position. "Well Dav, I've heard that you're looking to mix up the status quo a bit. That's not quite something I, or the people of this city, would appreciate. I hate to resort to a cliche, but Winstrom's only going to have enough space for one of us if you try something." He replied, reaching for a pen and paper with his free hand. "So tell me Dav, what's your price? I don't mind forking over some cash or drugs if it means I don't have to waste resources on having you removed."

"...You know what? Let's go on a date." Davin said after a long pause of thought. "You can talk me out of my revelution, we can have a few drinks...maybe you'll get lucky?"

'Lucky enough to only get one shot in your head.' He thought as he and Will crossed into the sight of Lee's cqmera network.

"You don't have the money to take me on a date, kid." Leon chuckled, mostly at the audacity of this one. "And lets be honest with ourselves, Davin. If I wanted to see you personally, I would have arranged for it by now. I just don't generally bother myself with watching the little fish swim by."

"Well, you ought to know how dangerous a little fish could be. Wouldn't want to be poisoned, right?" Davin replied, smirking. "I really wouldn't want to do anything drastic because you deem me unworthy." He added, giggling. "One outing. That's all I ask for."

Leon sighed and set the phone down on his desk, then enabled the speaker option. "You're out of your league, kid. Ambitious, but outmatched. You'd have to go through my secretary for an appointment, anyway. Schedule's a bit tight. Feel free to hang out with one of my homeless contacts though, I'm sure they'd make appropriate company, quite to your liking."

"Leo...Can I call you Leo? You are just a treat to chat with, we should do this more often." He laughed. "But, if you can't be reasonable, I don't need to be." With that, he pressed the end button and looked at Will, worry leaking through his mask. "Find a car. NOW."

Liam grew more tense every second Dav conversed with the man on the other line, and he called for the first taxi he saw when Davin ended the call. As the car swing around, Liam glanced at the man, a bit confused.

"Why do you feel the need to meet him, Dav? I mean, he does want to get rid if you..." He yanked open the the door to the taxi forcefully. Leo? What the hell was the German playing at here...

Harry felt her lungs tighten with effort as she sucked in a final breath before landing her last punch with a heavy thunk. The noise bounced off the walls of the gym, the sound system off while her dad talked a few of their regulars through training regimes, as the punching bag shuddered under the blow. The night before, she had gotten home and headed straight for her room, avoiding contact with her father at all possible costs but as Saturday morning rolled in Harry couldn’t help herself. Forgetting the timely text from Alex from the previous night, she had gotten up, changed and headed down to the gym where her father was waiting with two cups of coffee and a box full of doughnuts.

Since as long as Harry could remember this had been their Saturday morning routine. Granted the doughnuts weren’t exactly the healthiest of breakfasts, but they were delicious and Harry was not about to complain. After that though, they separated to complete their own work outs. Harry focused on Boxing, her interest in self-defence being spiked with the last kid vanishing. At least if she did get caught, she would give one hell of fight before going down.

Watching the bag swing back slightly, rocking a little from impact, Harry straightened and wiped a bandaged hand across her brow. The fabric came away damp and the acrid smell of sweat was sweet in her nose as she panted for oxygen. It had been a solid work out to say the least yet as time ticked on, the pressures of the outside world were beginning to get to her. Checking the guys whom worked around her, nodding to a few whom caught her eye, she then moved off towards the changing rooms. She needed a shower and perhaps another doughnut… or two.

When she was clean, she changed into her jeans and shirt, strapping on her watch before checking the time. She shouldn’t keep Alex waiting much longer. It would be rude. Yet in all honestly, the idea of ‘work’ bothered her. She needed it, of course she did, but that didn’t change the fact that she wasn’t entirely sure if she wanted it.

Sighing inwardly, she grabbed her bag and shouldered it, sweeping back her long, damp hair to reveal a slightly flushed face as her mind mulled over the various pros and cons before coming to a conclusion. Regardless of if she wanted it or not, she needed to investigate.

Pulling out her phone, the girl unlocked the screen and opened her messages, scrolling down until it came to Alex’s conversation. Flicking it open with a smooth motion of her thumb, the girl typed in her reply as she began to chew her bottom lip.

Hey Alex. Long-time no speak man!

Yeah, I’m still looking. What’s work then?

Coffee?

Here, for the briefest of seconds, the girl froze, pondering over whether she should finish with a kiss or not. After all, most girls did, however, the few seconds of hesitation was enough for her to decide against it. Kisses were not her style after all.

Hitting send she then grinned and slotted her phone back into her back pocket. Now all she had to do was wait. After all…

“The odds are that I’ll probably be alright.” She grinned, glancing round the empty changing room, before taking her leave. She needed to say bye to her dad and the guys. Not to mention, she needed to rescue the last doughnut from the box.

*Sorry, I know it's poor but just wanted to get the ball rolling again for Harry :) *

Ares still stood in front of Skye, "Follow me please." He said. He started to walk off, hoping Skye was following. He slowly thought about random things since that was how he was.
