Realistic or Modern Just a Petty Criminal

"We need to decide on a place to reside. You have my funds of course, and I would prefer your name be on any paper work." Davin sighed, thinking over his next idea.

Something Will said earlier stuck with him, and it bothered him that everyone knew who he was. "We need to kill my identity...too many people know me, which makes us vunerable. Which brings up another thing."

Davin leaned back as a loud scream rang out in the apartment. "I think my crew should reside under the same roof. How do you feel sbout that?" He asked, giving Lee a weak smile.

"You want the Asian girl's name on all your paperwork?" Lee laughed. "Alright, alright. But does it have to be my real name?" The girl had about a dozen aliases up her sleeve that she had used for something or another at some point in her life. She nodded in agreement when Davin explained he had become too noticeable. It was probably the most sensible things he had said all day. "You know I've got you covered. One new man, coming right up." Lee put that at the top of her mental to-do list, since that was more of her specialty and would hopefully take less time than other operations. Lee heard the scream, and while she didn't flinch, it did make her uncomfortable. Especially since Davin's next idea was to live under the same roof. Lee thought of her parents and the home where she was currently living for a moment before nodding slowly. "Okay, I'll try and find us a place." She figured she could easily lie to her parents, telling them that she finally got an apartment. They wouldn't really care to look into the matter anyways.

"Will!" Davin called out, smirking. "When you're done with your friend, kill him. And turn on a radio, so no one can hear." Davin stood up and stretched.

"I really liked my last name too....hopefully it'll be printed on the wall of his goddamned building." He was threatened, shot at, and now had to change who he was because of one person.

"I want to take my time and make sure he suffers before our bullets reach his brain." Dav spat, walking to the fridge to get a drink.

Sage walked, scanning the alleyways, her car keys making a familiar sound in her hand. She would use typical female self-defense if it came to it, only using her better moves if she needed them. She was looking for action- and though many would call her foolish, she was in the right place.

She overheard snippets of conversation about something pretty big that happened. It was a shooting, which was normal occurrence, but not a regular shooting. Sage wanted to investigate.

As demon drove through the better part of Winstrom he began playing "Main Chick" by Chris Brown. He stopped at a light and he noticed an attractive women walking by the alleys... seemingly very interested in them by the way she was looking at them. He rolled down his window.

"Ma'am. I wouldnt go down that way. If you want a shortcut to your car or a ride Id be more than happy to help you out."

Yeah it sounded creepy but he didnt expect her to come in. He just wanted her to second guess her decision. Or what he thought was her decision.

Sage was just slightly annoyed by the man, she could take care of herself. Little things like that had always bothered her. But maybe he was right. Why bother looking for trouble? It always finds us in the end.

She turned towards the man. "Sorry, I don't accept rides from strangers, but I have a feeling you already knew that would be my answer. So, honestly, why did you stop and warn me?" The only tone in her voice was mild curiosity.

"Cause stupid decisions can be your end... or at least a close call" Demon said back to her through the window

The reason why he sounded like he had experience is probably because he did. When he joined a gang called the Detroit Demons at age 14 is what basically caused the deaths of his two brothers and his father. Joining the military put him on the right track for a while though. Another stupid decision? Dropping out of high school. But he recently got his GED and is doing online school right now. Sometimes he goes to the Winstrom Community college for a class or two. He decided that if he was going to be a criminal, he was going to do it right. He was going to get a degree in business or economics. He was going to learn how money worked. Or maybe after college he could get into politicsm. Winstrom politicians made a ton of money.

"Anyways stop being a dumb girl. And watch your back. Always." Demon was hoping the light was green... but it wasnt...

Damn... that was like perfect timing to drive off in a cool fashion... god damnit.

He glanced at her to the side. Hoping she wouldnt notice how awkward this was.

"Dumb girl, eh?" Sage was really starting to get ticked, but she didn't show it in her voice. Instead, she pretended to examine her nails, letting the numerous keys laid perfectly in between her fingers catch the light.

She looked at the driver. "You see, mmm...I never did catch your name, but never mind that. The thing is, dumb girls don't come prepared- and I did." Sage paused for a moment.

"Look, I don't know who you think I am- but I am not some random girl. I've got purpose and a lot more in my arsenal than these keys." Sage was serious. Even if she wasn't looking for anything in particular- she did still have a purpose. She wanted to know how crime worked in this city, it would make her manipulative tricks and plans run more smoothly.

She absently flicked a spec of dust off of his car and looked dead at him. She wanted him to know that she wasn't a helpless girl.

"What are you saying?" Demon looked at her like she was crazy. "You sound like an anime character. Going around telling everybody that you have a purpose. Whatre you like 19? Youre still figuring out which detergent to use for your dresses. Talking about purpose. If you cant tell me what youre exact purpose is then you dont know who you are. And stop flicking my car, I just got it cleaned."

"Arrrrghhhhhhhhhahhhhhhh!!!!"

Today was not Daniel's day. First, he gets ambushed and knocked out by the very people he was sent to eliminate. That, alone, made his day horrible. The hot liquid on his face was just th cherry on the cake. He groaned as he felt the burning sensation throb and some of his skin peel open. "Screw you!!!" He yelled out, thrashing in his bonds.

"Dude...you just made it worse." He heard some guy with an accent call out, accompanied by the sound of keyboard clacking.

"Eh. You're not my type, hun," Liam scowled downwards, stomping his foot on the man's chest, pinning him to the floor. "Now I'd rather not waste the rest of the coffee...it's very useful when you're staying up late to plan attacks on a pompous drug lord. I won't bother starting out with the whole 'who do you work for' thing, because 1: I already know the answer to that, and 2: Its totally predictable. And I rather dislike being predictable," Liam growled, taking out his knife before taking a long swig of coffee.

"Where. Is. Leon. And don't try giving me some bogus location either - I'm pretty sure I'll be able to tell if you're lying or not. Its just one of those skills you develop from being one yourself..." Liam spun the knife in his fingers, staring at the man expectantly.

"LIKE I WOULD TELL YOU!!" Daniel screamed, spitting in the man's direction. "You might try to get to him, but you won't get past me or the others who have devoted our very lives to Leon."

"Seriously," the blonde foreigner began,"You are already gonna die...make it easy on yourself."

"Riiiigghhht. Because devoting your life to Leon has turned out so spectacularly well for you," Liam responded sarcastically before taking one of the man's hands, careful not to break his bonds, before holding the man's thumb between two if his fingers, raising the knife slowly..

"You really should have told me," he added, before proceeding to carve under every fingernail on the gunman's right hand with his knife, not bothering to be clean with his cuts as one by one the guy's bloody nails dropped to the floor, then moved to his left hand. When he'd finished, Liam settled back in his chair and smiled.

"Before we try this again, I'm gonna have to ask you in advance to try and keep your blood off my kicks. These aren't cheap. So what was that you were saying, before I delivered my little manicure to your fingernails?" he asked sweetly.

Davin winced as he watcged the nails fall to the ground. "A little harsh, dont you think?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"Please, I'll talk....gahh!" The assailant groaned as a small pool of blood developed behind him.

'Yet....effective.' Davin thought as he stepped ovet his body and into the kitchen, for leftovers. "Push it a bit further...so we know he's telling the truth." He said in a monotonous tone, taking a dish from the refrigerator.

Looking up when Alex’s voice switched from her phone to right next to her, Harry shrugged and glanced back to the chaos which was slowly being unraveled around her. The smell of smoke was still thick in the air but with a little encouragement from the police and firemen which were now scattering the area, the crowd was beginning to thin.

“I followed the sirens.” Harry nodded, as she hung up her phone and pushed it back into her jeans. “Should have known this would be your kind of scene though.” She added, chuckling the last bit as her lips tugged up at the corners, returning her gaze back to her friend. “What the hell happened here man? Looks like x-men came storming through the neighborhood.”

Here she gestured to the smoldering car and the broken, bullet-peppered building. It was here, as her fingers pointed towards one of the lower level windows, when a large chunk of concrete fell apologetically from the wall with a heavy thud, making Harry’s eye brows almost disappear into her finger as another surprised giggle clutched at her throat.

“Are they bullet holes?” She finally exclaimed. “I mean… damn I know our area was bad. But this is like a new level…right?”

Monday, far off from the town, on the east side, leaned against an old, long abandoned shop, her back pressed against the stone lining of the structure. The illustrated wallpaper interior was only seen through the large glass windows. As of now, it was only used for burrowing space for rodents and small animals, although she quite liked to use the kitchen as her own accommodation space. Her hair, sharply pinioned up into a tight bun, perched atop her hair, had several locks waving in the faint wind as she watched over the west end of the town below.

A troublemaking girl, a thief, a vandal. The quiet, cold, and thoroughly hard to catch young woman gazed over the roof point houses, imagining where her law-breaking friends were at, currently.

Reaching into her phone, she pulled out the outdated, barely used smartphone. Turning it on, she had 4 missed messages, and an email. "Of course. It's just ads. I don't want a swiffer or whatever." She muttered, deleting the notifications, and rubbed her face, a smile breaking her exhausted state of mind.

Monday steadily stood up, descended down once again. After all, she needed something to eat.

Alexander looked at her with a slight smile showing on his lips by her statement. “You followed the sirens?” he asked her. “Harry, the sirens usually mean ‘not a good place to be’ not ‘come check it out',” he informed her and shook his head a bit. But then his smile faded as she asked about the situation. He put his hands in his pockets and looked back at the scenery with a deep sigh. “Yeeah…” he mumbled. It was indeed bullet holes.

“It’s not just the area,” he said and rubbed his neck. “It’s a long story, but I actually became involved with a gang lately. I haven’t worked much yet though, but I have ended up in the situation anyway,” he said and when he noticed one of the cops going around and asking more people, he gently took a hold of her elbow to pull her a little further away from the crowd. “Have you ever heard about a Davin.. or Leon?” he questioned her, hoping some of the names would ring a bell.

He waited until they were a little further away to continue. “Basically there are forming those two sides, and slowly everything in-between has to.. chose a side,” he explained, then he shrugged. “Oh, and then there is people like me who is in it for the money.” he chuckled. “That…” he pointed a thumb toward the building. “…was a dispute between the two sides.”

Glancing towards the cops, Harry felt her heart almost buck as names were mentioned. She had heard about Leon. Everyone knew that name, though most people avoided saying it. Like a real life Voldemort, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was the king around these parts and someone Harry knew to keep her distance. A little fish like her didn’t want to go near that large shark. But bar knowing the man’s name and the fact that if she liked breathing, a habit she found herself being rather attached too, she needed to stay low, Harry really knew nothing.

Nodding as she kept careful watch on the cops out of the corner of her vision, Harry listened on before finally pursing her lips in thought.

“IS this” Harry jerked a thumb towards the wreck, “The ‘work’ you were talking about?” She asked, the penny finally dropping for her. Sense told her to stay clear. That the bullet holes in the walls were only a warning and that next time, they would find a softer target, like human flesh. Yet regardless, her curiosity was peeked. She didn’t need more risk but honestly, she was already in the middle of all this. Eventually she would have to choose sides and now was better than never.

Letting out a sigh, she finally let a grin smooth her expression.

“How’d you get yourself into this mess Alex?” She asked in a low chuckle as she ran a hand through her long hair, pulling back the strands to reveal her face. “And more to the point, how do I get in?” She winked before bringing her hands down and settling them down on her hips. “Just so long as this Declan guy keep me clear of the disappearances. Some local dealers have been going missin’ and I’ve been getting a little worried. This just might be my way to keep the money in, while also keeping my head.” Here she ran her index finger horizontally along her neck.

* I know Davin isn't called Declan xD just wanted to clarify now*

Liam nodded, crossing his arms at the man.

"Fine. Enlighten me...or you'll loose whole fingers next," he threatened before looking up at Davin curiously. Honestly, he didn't expect Dav to react the way he did - too calm. Or maybe just psyched out by seeing Liam like this. Or maybe he was just high again...he'd have to locate and confiscate THAT stash of drugs later on, whether the man liked it or not.

"And tell me who YOU are too, while you're at it."

Alexander gave her a small nod and an apologetic smile. “Yeah well, there was not bullet-holes in our walls and glass-splinters in my hat when I asked you to join us,” he admitted, and looked up at his hat. Then he waved a hand. “I don’t want to sugar-coat it, today has been an eye-opener for me as well with all the shootings, but seriously Davin will watch out for you. Today, I lost my wallet, and he drove all the way over to help me get it back from some pick-pocketer.. who joined us, but that’s a different story. Davin is freaking crazy, but he will take care of you from that Leon-guy when you need it… and don’t tell him I said he was crazy,” he mumbled the last part with a slight smile playing on his lips.

Then he chuckled a bit when she asked how he joined. “Honestly… I just knocked the door,” he admitted. “I had no clue what I was doing, I just wanted a job. Now I have sold my apartment and live up there,” he said and pointed his thumb up at the apartment on the 12th floor.

“We could really use you, Harry, no one is as good at cars as you are, I’m sure he would need you,” he told her and he meant it as well. He would understand if she was skeptical, he wasn’t exactly selling the job well with his current background, but she should know what she stepped into too. “The food is good too.”

Mars got the text from Lee saying how she should come back and be careful, but she was in no rush. She knew that no one knew where her place was, or figured that no one did, so she was essentially safe. Her father had been good at placing safe houses and staying off the grid and this place was perfect for that, the outside looking like the rundown messes around it while the inside was anything but that. She slowly got up got another drink, opened it and began chugging as she sat at the counter with her phone. She figured it would be a good idea to honestly pick a side in this whole war and she had to seriously weight her options. Leon, who had killed her parents and taken a firm grip of this city's throat with no sign of a reduction in strength, power, or presence...or Davin, who was building a army with a rag tag group of people whose alliances weren't all too well known to her, but who seemed genuinely on his side. She first text Lee: Thanks for the heads up, I'm heading back after I pack a few things.

Her next text was to Marcus:

Thanks for covering for me, now I need a bigger favor...can you give Leon a message for me?

Have you lost your fucking mind!?! That guy doesn't care that you're sick or that you want the night off.

That's not what this is about...it's about Davin.

WTH? Are you going to do something stupid? Just stick to enjoying your night off

Shut up. Just pass off a message to him that I'm in close with Davin and give him my number...A girl's gotta look after herself after all

Mmmhmm...well don't get yourself killed. I'll let him know, but don't expect much. I swear if you get me killed, I'll haunt you forever

Just delete this conversation afterward, okay? Not trying to get myself killed over a missed step, I've messed up once already

Will do. Stay safe and don't get yourself killed. Too fine a body to end up a corpse ;)

In your dreams :P

Mars had finished downing her drink as she was texting Marcus, and placed her phone on vibrate. She grabbed a few more beers out of the fridge and threw it in her bag, rolled a joint and placed it behind her ear, and grabbed the one she had lit earlier, relit it and headed out. She had essentially just bought her way into a high-stakes poker game, and she was using her life as the chips. As she exited her place she made sure that it was locked up tight, and after a moment of thought she decided to take her bike. She had a jet black Hyabusa and the helmet to match, so she put the joint she had behind her ear in her back pack, took a few more hits of the one she was currently smoking, and then tossed it aside before putting on her helmet, hopping on her bike, and heading back to Davin's. She would park it a few blocks north of his place and walk the rest of the way back, didn't want to draw anymore unwanted attention to that place.

Harry listened as Alex explained his situation, though she couldn't help but raise her eye brows a little when he mentioned Davin's mental state.

She was use to nuts people, but for some strange reason, hearing Alex report that this guy being a little wonky in the head, seemed to carry a little more weight.

Sniffing a little she tried to process everything. The protection from Leon was a massive plus, after all, but then the shot up rubble that stood next to them gave her reason to doubt. If Leon could do this to Davin's place, what was stopping him from targeting Davin's work force? If Leon found her dad's gym or apartment, well it wasn't worth thinking about.

But here was the problem she had to face. She needed the money and she needed it bad. The rent had gone up and her tuition wasn't about to stop coming. Not unless she dropped out of college and that was not gonna happen anytime soon. Her dad's gym wasn't making enough and the Old Cuppa was a crap job anyway.

Besides, she had been looking for a way out of drugs and here was Alex, offering her a perfect excuse to get out. They needed her and she needed them.

"Cars?" Harry repeated, finally breaking the long pause which has settled over the two. "That I can do. But Alex, you sure this guy is safe? I mean you sell your apartment and move in with him just like that?" She stopped before arching her brow, a smirk working across her lips. "You aren't sleeping with the boss are we?" She joked, before nodding toward another cop car.

"Listen. I am interested. I will ignore the bullet holes as best I can. Work is work right? But perhaps we should find somewhere else to talk?"

Alexander huffed a little by the question. “Harry, no gang is safe,” he said with a grin and shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know, I guess I just felt like I had nothing to lose, I mean, what else was I going to do all day, sit at home? Work at the supermarket all day? No thanks,” he reasoned. It wasn’t like he had a family to go home to, at least not one that would bid him welcome before he had stopped being gay, and well… that was easier said than done.

“And no. I do not sleep with Davin… although he is gay, since he has a boyfriend, or ex, I don’t even know what they are. Now that I think about it… we all are… ‘gay' I mean,” he said, suddenly coming to the realization. “We’re like a gay gang! Wow, I never realized,” he put a finger to his chin, and started walking with her toward Starbucks. “Maybe that’s why he took me in,” he joked with a grin. “And the girls are into guys too… I think. So we are all for that.. that’s kind of funny actually.”

Then he realized that he was having a kind of serious conversation and wiped the grin off his face. “Well, anyway. Yeah, want to talk at Starbucks? I could use a coffee,” he asked and corrected his hat a little. He was so easily distracted when he was high. While they walked he decided to ask more in about her own situation. “How is things with your dad and education?” he asked her casually.

"I can't tell you where he is...no one can. But I can tell you this: he likes boys that look like him." Daniel tossed his head in the direction of a now blushing German. "Please, stop. I can get you in, get anything you need. He likes drugs, right? I CAN GET IT, JUST PLEASE!!!"
