I'd imagine Grey Stone would consider the Flying Fortress the safer option. But as long as the GM considers it a valid and workable choice, I'm fine with either one.

I concur generally as well, though I think Aredin and likely Grey Stone would be more likely to want 7th Legion support if it means a raid on the blessed isle to get to Mnemon.

  This Merit depicts a Lunar with several animal forms at character creation. One dot provides the shapes of around six relatively weak animals, comparable to one-dot Familiars (Exalted, p. 161), and two or three stronger animals, comparable to two-dot Familiars, from a single region.
  
  Two dots provide the shapes of one to two dozen weaker animals, six stronger animals, and one or two extremely powerful animals, comparable to three-dot Familiars, from a single region.
  
  Three dots provide the same benefits as two dots, plus the shapes of two to three additional stronger or extremely powerful animals.
  
  For an additional dot, the Lunar can select animal forms from any number of regions.
  
  For most animals, you can simply use natural animals that exist here on Earth. Foxes, dolphins, gorillas, elephants, ravens, mosquitoes, ants, stuff like that. It can be from any climate, but since you are from the central and eastern parts of Creation, you can more easily justify savanna and jungle monsters/creatures, along with river and Inland Sea creatures.

The Guild has promoted this loanword-filled tongue as the unofficial “trade language” of the Threshold; it is probably the most widely-understood language in Creation. Its written form employs a simple glyphic alphabet whose characters can easily be shaped with a quill, stylus, or even a stick of charcoal.
  
  • (Native Tongue) Forest-tongue: A language family spoken in the East, beyond the bounds of the Scavenger Lands. Its written form consists of a wide array of branching ideograms, connected vertically and diagonally.

She converts Enhanced Sense’s dice to successes on rolls to detect something significantly hotter or colder than its surroundings: tracking an assassin’s movements through pitch blackness, identifying a disguised zombie among mortals, etc.

  —Innate
  The five dot version of this Merit grants powerful wings(or equivalent means of flight, such as gas-filled bags) and true, functional flight. A flying character in combat moves no faster than other characters; her advantages are in her ability to pass over most forms of difficult terrain with ease, and in the severe trouble many close-ranged fighters experience in reaching her to attack her.
  Drawback: In addition to the stigma of mutation, the character suffers a -4 penalty to attempts to disguise herself as a non-winged individual. Actions taken in the air which require any degree of finesse or precision (including attacks in combat) suffer a -3 penalty; drawing a bow or swinging a spear without getting in the way of one’s own wings is more difficult than it looks!

  FLAWS (page numbers and ideas based off of the Werewolf Players Guide)
  Flaw: Amnesia (p. 19) cannot remember his own birth name or the names of his family or where he is from prior to his life with the One Village in the Celestial Wildlands. He remembers the faces and voices and possesses only a child's amount of memories about his beloved family. This was taken from him by his time in the Wyld [see Background] and it might never be restored (a fact O Mighty Fat Cat has come to sadly live with).
  
  Flaw: Enemy (p. 24) The Boss [see Background] cannot forgive what happened to him and continues to hunt "the biggest fattest Chonk in all of Creation!! I will have my revenge!" O Mighty Fat Cat does not know his old enemy seeks revenge upon him. At least, not yet). =)
  
  Flaw: Scholastically-deprived Upbringing (p. 24, based off of Twisted Upbringing). O Mighty Fat Cat was first raised by his educated parents as a child, but later raised by jungle natives [see Background]. Because of this, his scholastic education has suffered. He is literate and knows basic concepts that most schooled people know, but there are holes in his knowledge. Things school-educated characters take for granted are sometimes unknown to O Mighty Fat Cat.   Early in Nerissaʼs apprenticeship, Zan challenged her to build a new artifact of her own design. To that point she had chiefly been reproducing constructions Zan or other Copper Spiders had created.
  She went to speak with her Lunar mate, Jaylen Zabek. Zebek was much older than Nerissa, having exalted a hundred years before she was born. In addition to that he was originally paired with her prior incarnation. This had always made Nerissa uncomfortable around him. The two did not speak often so he was rather surprised when she came to his manse. Jaylen had just recently returned from an expedition into the Wyld. Sadly while there, his team had been ambushed by Fair Folk, many died. Jaylen had lost the majority of his artifact panoply in the attack.

  At first glance, any variety of Shifting Silks appears to be an outfit of simple, dull grey cloth, consisting of loose pants with a drawstring belt, a long-sleeve, casual shirt, gloves, and cloth shoes. The outfit, when first put on, seems to be far too large for anyone. However, closer scrutiny the outfit will reveal an inner lining of one or more of the five magical materials, which drastically changes the more powerful functions of the Shifting Silks. This armor, made using secret, long-lost techniques from the First Age is woven of a material more unyielding than white jade, yet softer than evening light. It is otherwise identical to Artifact Silken Armor (p. 600).
  
  In the First Age, Shifting Silks were highly sought by those with great means. The means to craft them were incredibly esoteric, even by First Age standards, but a well-crafted Shifting Silk would sell for a thousand times its weight in gold. So it was that Heart of Singing Crowns, the Twilight Craftsman, endeavored to perfect the process. Weaving meticulously, fiber by fiber, year by year, she created hundreds of pieces, each a masterwork in its own right. But she sold or otherwise discarded every one, dissatisfied with the quality of her work. For generations these works passed down from family to family, their impermanence a constant reminder of her defect as an artisan.
  
  After a century of crafting and styles changed, she had grown depressed, falling into a pit of despair. It was only then that her friend Black Song in Rain, Chosen of Secrets, interceded. He shared with her the knowledge of a great and powerful artifact with which she might be able to craft a Shifting Silk to satisfy her desire for perfection: the Loom of Fate.
  
  Black Song in Rain took Heart of Singing Crowns to Yu-Shan, and there he revealed to her the Loom of Fate and the threads of Heart of Singing Crowns. The grandeur and intricate power of the greatest of Artifacts seared itself into her memory forever, giving her the understanding of the interconnectedness of all things. Heart of Singing Crowns set to work, weaving together a Shifting Silk inlaid with an intricate maze of Orichalcum and Starmetal.
  
  When she was nearly finished, she turned to Black Song in Rain and asked him one final favor, “In all my centuries, I have never created perfection, and now I know that I never will. All metals are alloys, just as we are all invariably interconnected to one another. I have spent more than my fair time in Creation and I have grown old. Help me weave my own threads of Fate into my work so that when my Spark returns to Creation, my work will always return to me. Black Song in Rain could see that she was resolved and though he was willing, he professed that he was not a great craftsman like her. She answered, “Over the last few weeks of labor, I have been gently awakening your mind, subtly teaching you the techniques you will need to complete my work and giving you the resolve necessary to do it. I am sorry my friend.”
  
  And so it was that when Heart of Singing Crowns died and her Spark left her body, Black Song in Rain continued her work and wove her threads from the Loom of Fate into Brilliant Manifold. But, clever as he was, Black Song in Rain took also a single thread of his own Fate and wove it in with hers so that when her Spark returned to Creation, he would be able to find Heart of Singing Crowns again.
  
  Brilliant Manifold focuses its wearer’s mind, spirit, and body into pursuing a single purpose, even when that purpose requires a thousand detours. Brilliant Manifold possesses a single hearthstone socket and doesn’t count as armor for the purpose of martial arts styles which cannot be practiced in armor.
  
  

  Evocations of Brilliant Manifold​

  
  A Solar or Sidereal Exalt who attunes to Brilliant Manifold gains Shifting Wardrobe at no cost. Once attuned, the outfit shifts like water to fit the wearer like a glove. The outfits will always fit as well as the wearer desires. Brilliant Manifold will emulate any jewelry the wearer desires, as well as perfume, and keeps the wearer in a constant state of cleanliness, keeping away dust, dirt, and blood. The wearer receives one non-charm bonus die to all appearance-based Social rolls while wearing the Brilliant Manifold because of this ability to keep herself presentable.
  
  Once attuned, the Exalt must specify an objective-based Purpose. This Purpose must be a possible, concluding goal: “Defeat all evil” is not suitable, but “Defeat the Death Lord who is plaguing my city” is. Upon choosing this purpose, the Exalt immediately makes that purpose a defining intimacy which cannot lessen until the purpose is changed. Her purpose may not be changed, unless the purpose is completed or otherwise becomes impossible or irrelevant. Brilliant Manifold will do everything in its power to help the wearer complete this purpose.

  For one mote of Essence and a moment of concentration, the Shifting Silks will change their form into any clothing the wearer can imagine and will remain so changed until uncommitted. This outfit can change radically, from little more than a series of overlapping scarves to full robes, or full Dynast plate armor. The "Silks" mentioned in the name is misleading, as the Shifting Silks can mimic leather, metal, and hemp just as easily as they mimic silk. The clothes appear real in every manner (sight, touch, sound, etc.), but their true nature may be revealed using certain charms which identify the presence of ongoing sorceries (e.g. All-Encompassing Sorcerer’s Sight) or strip away magical disguises (e.g. Eye of the Unconquered Sun).
  
  Furthermore, the artifact has the ability to emulate the surroundings of the wearer, dampen sounds, and neutralize scents, making her difficult to detect if she wishes, giving her a +2 bonus to all stealth related rolls and making her nearly imperceptible to mundane senses when fully at rest. To shift the form of the Shifting Silks in any way, whether color, jewelry, camouflage, or scent, costs one mote of essence.

When targeted by an attempt to influence her in a way that opposes one or more of her Intimacies that is related to her purpose, she may spend two motes and may instead add a bonus to her Resolve based on the intensity of her purpose itself.
  
  If she opposes that influence with her purpose directly, she may increase the bonuses added to her Resolve by an additional two.
  
  This Evocation can only be used once per scene, but may be reset by failing a resolve check against an attempt to influence her.

  Brilliant Manifold slowly, but surely, interweaves the Threads of Fate of those around the wearer with her own. Upon spending one week around the wearer, characters form a Minor intimacy of “Aid (the Wearer) in her Purpose.” The more time spent around the wearer, the stronger the intimacy becomes. After one month, the intimacy is strengthen to Major, and after one year, it becomes a Defining intimacy. This intimacy lasts until the purpose is accomplished, after which, a new intimacy begins to form. A Sidereal’s Arcane Fate prevents tangles in the loom as ties are instantly severed, however other heroes may find their ways to avoid divine censure.
  
  The speed at which intimacies are formed is affected by the wearer’s other intimacies. If a target has a minor or major intimacy directly opposed to the wearer’s purpose, that intimacy must be erased first. This can be done actively through social interaction, or Vast Aura of Fabricating Destiny will degrade a major intimacy to a minor intimacy after two months in the wearer’s presence, and a minor intimacy will be erased after two weeks in the wearer’s presence. Defining intimacies are impossible for Vast Aura of Fabricating Destiny to degrade.
  
  Once per story, when aiding the wearer in accomplishing her purpose in some way, characters may take a bonus on one roll equal to the strength of their intimacy. If the strength of their intimacy increases during a story in which a character has already used this effect, he may use it again at the new rating.

  The Storyteller is encouraged to tie the completion of one purpose into aiding the wearer of Brilliant Manifold in completing her next purpose. Furthermore, the Storyteller should weigh the intensity and scope of the help given against the magnitude of the purpose completed and the new purpose. For instance, completing the purpose “Arrive in Whitewall safely” might not contribute much help to the purpose “Discover how the Jade Prison broke.” Whereas, completing the latter purpose might grant a large amount of aid towards “found a sovereign kingdom in the Wyld.”
  
  The effects of Illustrious Sphere of Certain Destiny do not cause harm or chaos, but instead tend to affirm order and good in Creation.

  This cluster of emerald crystals continually changes shape, with new crystals budding and subsuming the old. Endless vitality suffuses its bearer, mending her wounds with unnatural swiftness. If she commits three motes to the stone, she regains one bashing health level per ten minutes, one lethal health level per hour, and one aggravated health level per day.
  
  Fatal diseases or lethal deprivation, such as starvation, dehydration, or drowning, only render her unconscious. Even dismemberment or cremation merely fills her health track with lethal or aggravated damage, respectively, from which she will eventually regenerate. This power only terminates if the Exalt loses attunement to the stone, or if it becomes inert or is destroyed.

  The Solar champion Vaznia took up dozens of artifacts across the ages, but few held her interest for long. Among those arms were Sirrush and Anshar, a pair of artifact flame pieces she commissioned to match a favored concubine’s eyes. She gifted them to her lieutenant Rylo
  Stormsong without ever wielding them in battle.
  
  A thrill-seeker, Rylo went looking for trouble in every teahouse and dark alley of Old Wu-Jian. Thus she entangled herself in all manner of violent altercations, from battling armies of thugs sent by double-crossed crimelords to stealing relics from hidden shrines to forbidden undersea gods. In extricating herself from such situations she employed her twin devil casters to deadly effect. Eventually she found herself outmatched, hunted by an affronted sorcerer’s seademons. Leaping from the pinnacle of the Crescent Temple into the sea-spray to escape pursuit, she never surfaced.
  
  Sirrush was found a thousand years later by Wu-Jian mudlarks. It worked its way up through the city’s teeming layers in cutthroat deals and throat-cut thefts, until one of the now-defunct Lords Criminal traded it to the outcaste pirate Storm Mother’s Son for a cargo of firedust.

  Merchant princes transport their most fragile goods in these white jade boxes, while scavenger lords unearthing them in ancient ruins tremble with hope at what fabulous First Age riches they might contain. Lined with rainbow skins from immortal seven-colored serpents of the uttermost East, each is virtually indestructible, and their contents — from delicate glassware to ancient crumbling scrolls — share their nigh-indestructibility.
  
  While the coffer is closed, even the roughest treatment or most extreme temperature leaves its contents undamaged. Breaking the coffer is a Strength 10+ feat, at difficulty 15 to slowly bash through or difficulty 20 to smash it open with one blow. Its magic doesn’t ward off decay; ripe fruit won’t bruise within but will go rotten. Coffers range in size from petite jewel-boxes to a Dynast’s traveling trunk. Each opens to a jade key, though keys to First Age coffers are usually long lost. Picking a coffer’s lock is difficulty 7; making a new key is a major repair project requiring Craft (Artifact).

  As a Transporter (he calls himself the more medieval title of a "Deliverer"), O Mighty Fat Cat uses his Wyld-augmented Spirit Shape (Giant Housecat) to do most of the transporting. Otherwise, he uses his Emerald Grasshopper or Towering Beast Forms when necessary. He is really big about seeing every job through to the end and sticking to the letter of any deal he makes (or barring that, the spirit of the deal).
  
  O Mighty Fat Cat has done the occasional job for free when it comes to helping out people in need (especially those who worship or assist Luna or friends in need). He does not have a blood-family to go back to so he likes to help people sold into slavery return back to theirs.

  O Mighty Fat Cat was separated from his tailor-merchant family at a very young age. While traveling through the jungle he saw human hunters intent on his family. He warned them and led the hunters on a chase to the edge of the Wyld. He entered the Wyld and it permanently changed him. It was killing him, but coming here resulted in his family being able to escape the hunters. Luna saw fit to spare him by Exalting him.
  
  Thanks to Luna, he made it to a hidden jungle village where peaceful people took him him. However, the Wyld had changed him into a tiny kitten with an endless appetite. Lovingly, the One Village fed him and fed him and he grew and grew. A long time afterward, the hunters-become-slavers found the One Village and attacked it intent on enslaving everyone in it.
  
  O Mighty Fat Cat, for the first time in his human form, bade them leave, but they would not. A short battle ensued and the slavers gave up their ways to become hunters once again. The One Village was saved and in this way, the boy who became O Mighty Fat Cat returned his love for the people who saved him.
  
  Today, O Mighty Fat Cat has no memory of his own name or his family's. He has a mixed education resulting in nearly all of Creation being a new place to him. He left the One Village and now works with the Guild to help people less fortunate than he as a Transporter.

  Once there was a boy who got lost in a jungle. He lost his name and much more, but gained a whole new life. A life under Luna.
  
  He was a small boy who loved to play and hunt and explore and share. He lived with his family who worked in honest trade as honest traveling. tailors. They dealt in quality clothing, footwear, and all manner of things to keep people safe from the elements and comfortable - so comfortable that their finest line was said to be like living in a home you wore on your person! Long-lasting, affordable, and wonderfully-made, they were the envy of many of their competitors. But the lorded this fact over no one; instead, they were happy to be helping people.
  
  One day, while traveling through the jungle, the boy's curiosity got the better of him and he became separated from his family's caravan. They became very worried because there were hunters about. Hunters with dogs trained to trap and hurt.
  
  Perhaps he was born under a lucky star, but the boy spotted the hunters first. He knew them for who they were - they were hunters who would harm his family! They were following the signs of caravan tracks on the brown earth and the bending of the green leaves upon the earth's skin.
  
  The boy never thought of himself as a brave creature - just a child in a wonderful world of terrific smells and sights and fantastic discoveries - but when he saw the hunters silently following the tracks of his family's caravan, he made decisions that made him more than what he was before.
  
  To run to his family was to betray their location. But to wait too long without warning them was to open them to ambush, cruelty, and sorrow.
  
  Still a boy, how could he know that the humans hunted his family for their fine coats and dependable boots? His family was said to be magical. Their undergarments were said to provide virility and fertility. Their socks were said to ward off fatigue and minor ailments. Their vests were said to ward off evil spirits. But were these not evil spirits in the guises of armed people now stalking his family to kill them for their material gains?
  
  The boy was too young then to know of concepts like goodness, neutrality, and evil. He only knew that he loved his family more than everything in all Creation, that he valued their lives and the lives of their friends more than he valued his own, and that people and all creatures should live life as they pleased, free to chase their own tails or their own destinies and not to live under the curses and whips of any other creatures.
  
  Freedom for all souls was more than a necessity - it was a road to the liberation of the soul, an uphill climb toward making a better you, and a lifelong journey for all beings to succeed or fail, rise or fall, live or die! And no one should take that from anyone else.
  
  This the boy knew. This the boy lived by. This the boy was willing to die for. For his family. For his beliefs. For even tiny skinny children have dreams and desires. And this boy was willing to sacrifice them all for all that he loved. I did not love himself; it was that he simply saw himself only as a very small acorn in a supremely vast jungle.
  
  And so, he made a plan to save his family.
  
  It was a simple plan for he was a simple boy. He remembered his family had traveled this way before. Many times. He believed he knew this part of the jungle better than the hunters and more thoroughly than the dogs they led. And he knew of the rim of the jungle where strange things thrived, stranger happenings took place, and things beyond the understanding of people came to be so often that even his family wholly avoided the place. The boy did not have a name for this place, but the people did. They called it - the Edge of the Wyld.
  
  Hidden in the brush, the boy saw the spears of the hunters and did not know exactly what they were for. Nor their bows. Nor their blowguns or even their knives. He was too young to be trained with weapons. He do not like to hurt people or animals. He had no experience doing it and wanted none. He knew he could not fight them for he was too small. But perhaps he could mislead them? Steal their focus? And warn his family at the same time?
  
  The boy's soul was complete and filled in its resolve - he felt he must try. He also felt alone and his fear was growing.
  
  On a whim, he looked up to the night sky. There was the moon! Peeking out from behind the clouds like a fellow child playing a game, the moon seemed to watch over all things. Unlike the sun who slept half the day, the boy had seen the moon in daytime as well as nighttime. It was always there!
  
  Was it a he or a she? She, he decided. For she was always beautiful to behold. The sun was too strong to stare at. Look too long and you hurt your eyes badly. Maybe lose them. But to stare at the moon? The longer you looked, the less alone you felt. And so the boy blew a kiss to the moon - the same kind of kiss he blew to his mother and father and siblings.
  
  He thanked the beautiful moon for looking over him and asked for her help in saving his family. The moon seemed to wink back or was it his imagination?
  
  The boy followed the hunters and their dogs, careful to stay where the wind would not betray his scent, where he hoped he could hear well and not be heard or seen, where the ground would not likely betray his passing. This was all he knew but as any child can tell you, when you play hide-and-seek, such skills are essential for success. When the hunters had come so close to the boy's family caravan that he was sure they would find them, the boy sprang up from behind a bush and screamed at the top of his lungs. This warning though small was clear in the quiet of the jungle. All who heard it knew what it meant - danger!
  
  With one look at the boy vanishing into the green, the hunters decided that having one little hostage was better than coming upon the alerted caravan without one. And so they gave chase. The boy knew of places that he was small enough to go that they would have a hard time following. And so he went from hollow log to bush-tunnel to fallen tree to sunken bog. Using their muscles and tools, the hunters destroyed or uncovered each hiding place the boy ventured to leaving only ugly ruin and angry sounds in their wake. But, the boy reasoned, the farther the boy led them, the safer his family was. This game of life and death continued until the boy found himself standing beside a tree, a gangly purple tree that slowly unfurled and waved to him. He looked again and heard green water that seemed to laugh and leaves that whistled very strange jokes.
  
  He had found the Edge of the Wyld!
  
  The hunters finally spotted the boy running and when they did, they loosed their dogs upon him. The hounds came on, their eager fangs bared for their prey. What else could the boy do but flee - flee straight into the unknown? He ran by another waving tree, jumped over more laughing water, and slipped under and around the leaves that crackled with wisecracks in what did indeed sound like human tongue.
  
  It was here where the dogs faltered, though the boy did not know it. Each of the four-footed predators came to the edge, slowed, then stopped. They stood together but uncertain, shaking in indecision, and eager for their masters' guidance. Then their masters came. Clutching their useless spears and blowguns, they beheld the Edge of the Wyld and what they saw made them shake with dread, for it was all they had been told and more. The branches beckoned, the grass danced, and the flowers blew raspberries at them. This the hunters could not endure. They turned their backs on the unknown and left sullen-eyed, but otherwise unchanged.
  
  Meanwhile the Edge of the Wyld gained a small new neighbor for the boy kept running and running unchecked in a headlong flight believing the hunters and their dogs were still hot on his heels. He did not stop to listen or look back even once and thus remained ignorant.
  
  Deeper and deeper fled the boy through rainbow streams, blue-misted woods, and past still lakes where the waters reflected the destinies of creatures long passed away and many yet to be born. The boy soon felt terribly tired and not long after, he felt strange and woozy and sick. For the first time in his life, he felt afraid. Very afraid. He realized he had run so far that his family would not find him. Perhaps ever. This very land was changing him though he did not know it. All he knew was that his eyelids were as heavy as rocks, his feet stumbled about as if his feet were clad in thick vines. He moved as if in a dream he could not wake from, try as he might. He had no idea where he was going or for how long he could continue.
  
  But continue he must! To lead the hunters and dogs away! To secure his family's freedom! Compared to theirs, his own freedom meant nothing for they contributed to the universe while he only felt he took. He shuddered and began to cry for he had never been so alone in his life. Thirsty, he lapped from pools never tasted by mortal beings. He brushed up against plants never beheld by the most adventurous of travelers. In the distance, he heard musics and the very dancing of the wind and in his kitten-like curiosity, he longed to see it with his own eyes. But his body was failing him. His fear was crippling his mind. His young soul suffered like never before.
  
  And yet his little feet plodded onward. These hunters would have to catch him. He would not stop and make it easy for them.
  
  He decided he would keep moving until he died.
  
  The boy''s rise to becoming a Lunar - a rare being of untold power and unknowable destiny - did not come upon a great and bloody battlefield where he left countless corpses in his wake. Nor had his soul awoken to face some incredibly gigantic forest-devouring beast to which he would have to do battle with for seven days and seven nights. No.
  
  The change came upon him under triple-canopy wilderness where the slow-moving clouds were completely obscured and where all the Wyld seemed to both taunt and encourage the boy as if it wanted him to join with it permanently. And perhaps he would. Except that there in night-caressed forest, the high branches seemed to part, the thick leaves pushed away from one another as if in welcome to a single shaft of pure cosmic light - a moonbeam. It gently fell through the night... and onto the boy.
  
  He did not know it. He did not know that Luna was with him or that the moonbeam stayed upon him with every wobbling step and with every trembling breath. All he knew was he could not stop lest he fail his family. Slowly, surely, he felt a force growing inside of him that seemed to promise him. It said, "You will not die this day. You will live. But from this point onward, you must appreciate all that you are given."
  
  "I will," replied the boy inside his mind. "Thank you so much for being with me."
  
  The boy closed his eyes and smiled a big, big smile. It was all he could do was to walk and give thanks to whatever was speaking inside of him. He knew then that whatever happened, he was no longer alone. He trusted this voice with all that he was. He felt he could be miles underground, on another world, or trapped in a topsy-turvy dream of some mad magician. It did not matter. From this point on, the boy felt he would never be alone again for as long as he lived. This feeling, this voice, this moonlight would always be with him. Inside of him. Part of his very spirit.
  
  And when he opened his eyes, he saw that he was surrounded by moonlight. Gentle, soft, calming moonlight.
  
  Everything seemed so large now. The grass had somehow grown so that it was now up past his shoulders. The flowers too seemed larger than the horses that pulled his family's caravan. He still felt groggy, his senses weak. He felt small. Smaller than ever. But yet he continued on, his four feet stumbling and staggering yet still moving forward, step by little step.
  
  Then he heard again the sound of guidance - music! There was music in the air! Lots of it! There were flutes and drums and singing and it all sounded so joyful! So welcoming! Had the plants of this mystical realm learned how to make their own music? He did not know the song, but it was something better than fear to listen to! This the boy knew. And so he continued on without fail with the will and stamina of a soul possessed until the leaves stopped their wisecracking and the water ceased in its laughter and the trees waved fond farewells to him. He tried to wave back, but he lacked the strength. All there was now was the music and his desire to be as close to it as possible.
  
  He stopped only when he realized that he was surrounded. Surrounded by... people! People he did not recognize! And they were giants! The biggest people he had ever seen! They were in a huge circle around him where they were dancing to strange wooden flutes held to their mouths and odd sticks sounding on the tight skins of drums. But the music fell silent now. He had been hearing singing too though this too had suddenly ceased.
  
  The boy looked up dazedly, beyond exhaustion, on the verge of life and death - the last precipice. The huge dancers and musicians were gawking and staring down at him. The boy gawked and stared back. A pitiful meow left his lips at them. Then the world swam and dipped and flew and swirled and unable to continue, the boy's great heart gave way. He fell to the earth.
  
  Or rather, he would have except one of the giant people ran up and collected him. Gently, he caressed his still fur. The boy did not know this. The boy did not know anything for what felt like a long, long time. When after what felt like forever, the boy awoke to the sensation of what tasted like milk being carefully poured into his mouth. There was food cut up into tiny niblets in wooden bowls that smelled wonderful to his tiny pink nose.
  
  He opened his eyes and there they were. People. Lots and lots of people. They were enormous. They looked very different than the hunters. The dogs these people had were friendly and kind. Just like their masters.
  
  This one village had saved him. The boy thought of The One Village as the most comfortable place in all of Creation though he did not know what Creation was any better than any other average child of his background. Days and night passed and eventually the haze around the boy's mind dissipated enough that he finally realized what was clear to everyone else - he was a kitten! A tiny orange ball of fluffy... kitten! No wonder everyone else was so big! No wonder he felt so light! He decided the moon had turned him into a kitten to give him four legs to reach safety! His spirit felt so very free though he still felt terribly weak.
  
  As long as he felt weak, the people of the One village fed him. And they fed him. And fed him! And fed him some more! The boy-become-kitten was ravenous - impossible to fill! This astounded the people greatly for no one could believe this poor lone sick kitten from the Edge of the Wyld could eat so much! The caring people of the One village put their heads together and came to a conclusion - they could feed him no matter how much he would eat! These were people of the land who respected and nurtured and passed on the earth's secrets with great reverence and appreciation. Violence was not their way, nor was traveling outside their chosen realm, but food? Oh yes! Food they could do!
  
  And so it became a game to the whole village! Feed the kitten! Which food does the skinny kitty like most? Let us find out! In what seemed no time at all, the people of the One village were placing food after food, dish after dish, and drink after drink before the kitten - and the kitten devoured them all with equal gusto! The One village redoubled their efforts - to the same result! If you put something in front of the kitten that he could get his little kitty mouth around, he made it disappear and mewed for more!
  
  On and on this went, day after day, week after week, so much that it became a traditional holiday for the One village that they celebrate to this day! Fat Kitten Day!
  
  But the name of the holiday was not meant to last. For the more they fed the kitten, the larger he became. And the larger he became, they more their notions of him changed. He grew and grew and grew! No normal cat - no normal being - could devour so much food and drink! This was more than a lucky kitten come in from the Edge of The Wyld from places unknown. This... they decided... could be a powerful spirit. A magical being.
  
  Or... even... a god?
  
  Finally. After months and months of feeding the grateful, affectionate feline, the hunters made their return to the area. They had stumbled upon this peaceful place, the One Village. They did not come for the boy whom they thought swallowed up by the Edge of the Wyld. They came for the people themselves. Peaceful people. Healthy people. People who would not fight back after they tasted the whips and barbs of their masters. For these hunters were more than hunters of profits or of beasts, they were hunters of people.
  
  Slavers.
  
  The people of the One Village had a single defense that had served them well for generations - their ability to stay hidden - but the slavers threatened their families and forced them to come out and bow their heads in submission or, they threatened, they would chop off the hands of their loved ones at the wrists and burn the hands in front of them! In the confusion and chaos, a young man with dark, dark skin strode without fear. He strode toward the boss of the slavers. The slavers saw him and loosed their dogs. But to their astonishment, the dogs fell back in total doubt. The dogs would not touch him. They bayed warnings to their masters that went unheeded.
  
  The slavers felt they needed no dogs to take down a single young man. In their hubris, they decided they would get the young man themselves!
  
  Their boss led the charge and at the boy they came rushing on! Their thinking? To make an awful example of the first of these people who dared challenge them! They circled him and demanded the name of the young man, but he did not answer. In truth, he had forgotten it. They demanded the villagers tell them who he was, but no one there had ever seen him!
  
  The young man, bolstered by his love of Luna and his love of the people of the One Village, stood before the slaver boss and grinned. And his was a wide, wide smile.
  
  "You are black!" shouted the boss pointing at the youth's skin. But the youth shook his head.
  
  "You are Junglese!" the boss used the term he knew to identify people of the jungle. But again the youth shook his head.
  
  "What manner of man are you then?!"
  
  The youth's eyes grew wide. Very wide. The boss's eyes did too as they stared at one another. The boy answered.
  
  "I am... Blackanese!"
  
  The slavers howled in laughter for they had never heard of such a thing. But now the young man had all of their attention which is what he wanted.
  
  "You must leave," commanded the young man. Now his voice was very deep, very man-like, especially for a dark-skinned heavy-set lad. "You must leave now or you will not like what will happen to you."
  
  "You dare command me?! Learn your place!" screamed the boss and he and all of his men rushed at the young man!
  
  Accounts of what happened after this moment differ. Ask one, she will tell you that the gods themselves heard their prayers. Ask another, and he will tell you that he never imagined that the young man had been with the One village all along. Ask the slavers? They will likely tell you, each in their own way, that they came to the wrong village. Had they known, they would have never set foot near it nor told another soul. They would have done their utmost to forget the One village and strike this memory from their brains as best they could.
  
  Perhaps the young man himself could tell it best. One moment, the slavers were leaping at him. He was smiling. Giggling. He leaped high into the air and when he looked down, he was above the huddle of the slavers.
  
  There was a transformation.
  
  And when the young man came down, there was a tremendous crash. Then silence. He looked down at the bushes. They seemed much smaller now. The trees waved up at him. They seemed smaller too. He looked down at his four huge feet, back at his great lashing fluffy tail, and he unconsciously licked one paw to smooth back whiskers longer than young saplings. He did not miss the absolutely flabbergasted looks of all of the people that gazed upon his mighty majestic form - or the dozen hardly-able-to-breathe slavers whom the young man-turned-gigantic-cat was now sitting upon. Indeed, he was sitting on all of them!
  
  The slavers had no idea such a gigantic housecat had ever existed. The people of the One Village had no idea that the tiny kitten with whom they had invested so much love and care could also inhabit the now-very-well fed form of a muscularly-fat young man. With a big, big smile, the enormous cat flicked away the spears and blowguns of the slavers. Then he stared down at them.
  
  The boss wheezed and whimpered and tried to wiggle out from underneath the humongous cat's body, but it was not to be. This cat was just too fat! He felt he would die! So he used the one tool he had left - his mouth.
  
  "O Mighty Fat Cat!" he pleaded. "Spare us and we will flee this village never to return!"
  
  "MRRRROWR?" replied the newly-named humongous cat. He was very expressive as he shook his huge smiling head. It became clear to all that this offer was not enough.
  
  "O Mighty Fat Cat!" the boss blubbered. "Let us go and we will leave you all of our valuables and tell no one of your home!"
  
  "BR-R-R-R-OWWRR?" The answer was no.
  
  "What?! Fine! OOOOH MIGHTY FAT CAT!" he cried. "Release us and... we will do all that I have declared and we all promise to give up slavery! We will become hunters and hunt only the proper animals for our trade! Right, men? Promise him now!" Every one of his slavers-become-hunters eagerly agreed and nodded wholeheartedly.
  
  "MMMMMRRRROWW?"
  
  "That STILL isn't good enough?"
  
  The biggest cat of the jungle just smiled and slowly shook his head. Now even the villagers wondered what the slavers had to agree to.
  
  Finally, O Mighty Fat Cat looked down at the boss. With one huge paw, he patted his big furry belly.
  
  "What?" the boss looked about, his face twisted up in confusion. He turned to the villagers. "What does he want? Someone tell me! Tell me!!"
  
  A moment later, all things had changed.
  
  The astonished villagers looked on. Now they had the spears, bows, and blowguns though they did not need threaten anyone with them. The villagers instead pointed and jeered and held their bellies as their great laughter filled the jungle! And why not? There, on his back, smiling, enormous, and unchallengeable lay O Mighty Fat Cat! His big feet clawed the air in delight and he purred up such a sound as to delight all who heard this contagious sound...
  
  ... with the exception of the now-weaponless hunters forced to rub his soft furry belly in front of everyone! Scowling, grimacing, and unable to bear this public humiliation, the boss of the hunters looked to his busy men and swore upon his very soul. "IF ANY OF YOU BREATHE A WORD OF THIS TO ANYONE, I WILL HAVE YOU BEATEN WITHIN AN INCH OF YOUR LIFE!"
  
  "You had better not!" cried the villagers. "Or we will tell everyone we see of this moment!"
  
  "NOOO!" the belly-rubbing hunters cringed. "PLEASE NOOO!"
  
  One of their number looked over. "I dunno, boss," looking down as he worked upon O Mighty Fat Cat's warm and soft fur, he gave a goofy grin. "Dis isn't so bad, is it?"
  
  "SHUT! UP!" the boss shouted at him, "AND KEEP RUBBING!"
  
  That moon-filled night, a great and wonderful purring was heard throughout the entire jungle. It was so loud and true that nearly all creatures who heard it were filled with peace and playfulness and thoughts of happiness. The whole Edge of the Wyld giggled. It is said even the crescent moon hanging in the night sky seemed to become one big heavenly smile.

So... basically, I have to play Fat Cat in such a way that he's not going to remember anything about a Sidereals after, say, a week's time? The Sidereal can be with us for years, but non-Sidereals just... won't have any idea that they've known each other for more than a week or so?
