Futuristic Inside the Wall (Utopia RP)

no6_01.jpg

(Imagine walls surrounding the city and a class dome covering the city. Use that imagination. LOL)

(What the building looks like.)

It's the new year and everyone is out celebrating and having a grand old time. Granted it's not as excting now then back in 2034, but it was still fun. The goverement was throwing a huge party in the main square and invited everyone to come. Music played, people dance, and everyone was happy. Suddenly you hear the crack of the speakers and the music stop. Everyone comes to a hult with a look of suprise.

"Please return to your homes. There has been an accident. Please return to your homes ASAP. The goverment will make an announcement in an hour." Everyone groans upsetly and return to there homes.

What could possible be wrong? Would the goverment really run a drill during the New Year or did something actually happen for once? Nothing bad ever happens here... Well guess you better get by that tv and find out.

(You can either just type out what you are doing at home or explain what you did during the New Year before the strange announcement)

If there's one thing that Delastarh loved in his life was the parties. A time where he had nothing other to do than having fun and talk to all kind of people.

He had spent the night doing exactly that. Although not much of a dancer, he enjoyed his time by chatting with people and flirting a little with anybody he found cute. So, obviously, he had been annoyed when the announcement ordered everybody to go home. It wasn't even midnight, how could they do that to them!

Back to his home, Delastarh sat down heavily on his couch. A long sigh escaped his lips. Couldn't happen to the worst moment. He had just started to flirt with a pretty man with very long black hair.

"I did not even have time to ask for his number," he mumbled, grabbing the remote of the television. "I wonder what happened..."

He pointed the black screen and clicked on the power on button.

Théodore was clearly annoyed. For once he had fun! When his classmates asked him if he wanted to join them to party for the new year, he accepted gladly. More, the one that hosted the party was a cool man, really kind to Théo, and kinda cute, when you think about it.

He pushed the door of his home and immediatly got attacked by a little girl, his sister Lilia, that hugged him tightly.

"Théo, Théo, Théo!" She repeated while putting her head on his chest. Théodore laughed sightly as he pulled her away gently. "Yes, that's my name." He said as he looked up to see a look of relievement on his parent's face.

"You are finally home, boy." His father began, "We were worried, Théodore, we thought that... we perfectly know that was impossible, but..."

"Was someone with you to go back home?" Her mother said quickly, cutting his father.

Théodore chuckled and smiled. "Of course mom, one of my classmate." It was a big big lie, but it was fine for Théodore as long as it reassured his mother.

"Nothing new?" He asked, concerning the incident. After all, it wasted his party, he should at least know why.
His father shook his head and pointed the TV that was already working.

"We have to wait, boy." He said as he went back on the couch, alongside his whole family.

Finally, a reason to leave! Was Joan's first thought when the announcement blared. She never liked big, crowded events like these. The only reason she'd even gone in the first place was because Cadence wanted her company!

Speaking of Cadence, she looked pretty disappointed. "What a wonderful way to start the new year!", Cadence whined as the two sisters walked home, "Accident, schmaccident! What a bunch of party poopers!"

Joan sighed. Cadence may have been ten minutes older, but she was the mature one. "Let's put it this way, sis. When have they ever reported an accident? Yeah, it put a stopper on the party, but there's gotta be a good reason for it.", she replied matter-of-factly.

Soon, the twins got to their apartment. Judging by the snoring noises in the other room, their parents were sound asleep. Oh well, they'd probably hear about it later. As Cadence sat on the couch and pouted, Joan switched on the TV. Time to see if she'd be proven right.

"PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR HOMES. THERE HAS BEEN AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE RETURN TO YOUR HOMES AT ONCE. THERE WILL BE A CITY WIDE ANNOUNCEMENT IN AN HOURS TIME."

The announcement was loud and rather unwelcome in Eve's small apartment, making her jump. She sighed as she stood, picking up the book that had fallen out of her lap. There was no use in studying now, her focus had been scrambled. As Eve tucked the book away on the bookshelf she looked out the window. Normally this was a day of excitement and celebration, but for her it was just another day. Night now in fact. Eve crossed the room to stare out the window at the faint night sky, lit by the unique skyline of the only remaining city. She gazed down at the street below, watching people stream into various buildings as they left the center of the city, where the annual New Year festival was celebrated. As she watched the people Eve's mind began to shift, thinking about what the announcement had said. An accident? Those are rarer than someone leaving Aveisham. Abandoning the window she would go to the kitchen, putting on a kettle of water to boil so she could drink tea as she waited for the official announcement on the TV.

Cas was never far from any social gathering since she could never pass up an opportunity to photograph the very creatures she studied so intensely. As for the New Year's party, it was the perfect time for her to test a new set lens she bought for her camera.
Jumping from here to there, Cas took photos of everyone doing everything. People eating, dancing, talking to one another. She found something along the lines of satisfaction in taking pictures of people living the real moments of life. After all, she was writing a thesis to get her Masters in Sociology. It hadn't been long before she had too many photos in her camera, a problem Cas encountered often. She flipped through them, studying each picture carefully in an attempt to understand human behavior.

"Please return to your homes. There has been an accident..." The loud speakers blared, and although the message continued, Cas' thoughts were thrown into an abrupt chaos. What could have happened!? I wonder if there's blood! Or worse, someone died?! I wish I could get photos... What an interesting study that would be... Cas shook her head, bringing herself back to the moment, I should interview some of the people before they leave. I'm curious as to how they feel about this series of events. She quickly dove into the crowds of people grouping together to head home in hopes of finding some new research. Though, it wasn't long before several people encouraged Cas to head home as well and it became apparent that their persistence devolved quickly into her being ignored. With no one left to interview, she had no choice but to comply and walked the long way home, as a means to enjoy the empty streets.
People are so strange... I do not understand why they would be upset over the party ending so soon. There will be others, won't there? Why would tonight be any different from those to come? Perhaps I'm missing some important information or I do not fully understand the importance of social events..., Her thoughts carried her on her way and before long, she had arrived outside her house. She hesitated, staring at the vacant looking home. She never had been known to be sentimental nor did she understand what it meant for something to be cozy. As such, her house was very lacking in the 'homey' department.
She paused and glanced at the neighbor's plot next door, as she always did before heading inside. Cas caught a glimpse of Eve, her neighbor whom never said hi. She lifted her camera and snapped a photo of her drinking tea through the opened curtains.

"Not unlike her." Cas muttered, knowing fully well that Eve drank tea from time to time, "I'll still put it in her file... My thesis on her must be thorough." Cas then walked through both yards and tapped on Eve's window, hoping to catch her attention.

Margret Jane Simpson (AKA-MJ)
MJ sat alone watching out the window of the penthouse. She hated being cooped up inside but her father insisted on staying in tonight, and tonight of all nights. She watched everyone below as they danced and party the night away. It looked like a lot of fun, there was no doubt that her old friends were down there and now she barely had friends at all. The sound of the alarms startled her almost making her fall from her chair. What the heck was going on? From inside the announcement was muffled so she couldn't hear what it said. She then saw the once dancing people begin to scurry back into there homes. MJ stood quickly and began heading to the door. She stopped suddenly when one of the guards walked in. "Is everything alright?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. He doesn't say much, just gives her a nod. "Please come with me mam and please come quickly." She stood there stunned for a moment but finally gives him a nod.

One Hour Later

After everyone was safely into there homes and the street scanned the tv announcement came on. On screen stood the president at his podium. On his left sat his advisers and to his right sat his daughter, who looked slightly confused. He took a deep breath before talking into the microphone. "Hello everyone this is President Simpson and I would like to clarify now that this is not a drill. We have had many in the past for whenever bad things happen and I would like to say it was one of those times. Sadly it is not. We have lived in peace for a very long time, only the old and in rare events the seriously sick would die, but tonight is different." He stops for a moment glancing down at his daughter then back at the camera. "There was a dead body found at 11:24 pm this evening. We are trying the best we can to find out what has happen to the victim. I now it's a little frightening but remember WE ARE YOUR GOVERNMENT. You have trust in us for this long so please continue to do so. Please forgive us for the alarm but are first priority is keeping you safe. Once we find out what type of sickness or virus it is we will make and send out a vaccine as soon as possible. Thank you all for your time and please be safe." The governments symbol of two hands shaking appears on screen before going black.

You contemplate what just happened not sure what to think but that was when you here the mail flap on your door open and close.
On the ground sits a black envelope with nothing written on it, but you know somethings inside.

(You can tell about what you thought about the video announcement and then tell about you finding the black envelope. You can share it with your characters family or your character can keep it to themselves. Once everyone post we will move on to the next part)

Everyone in the Jean family focused there attention to the TV when President Simpson's announcement began.

A murder.

Théodore felt his mother's grasp on his left arm and his sister's on the right one. This was understandable, after all, a murder wasn't something they could've imagined here, as well as being sick.

"A-A dead body..." Mrs Jean began, her voice trembling from fear. "How could this have happened! This... This is impossible! Oh, my little Théo!" She said as she hugged her oldest child. "Thanks, it wasn't you!"

"Come on." His father said as he rubbed his wife's arm. "Théodore is safe and sound with us, you don't have to be worried, President Simpson said the governement will do anything to protect us, and they never lie."

"Daddy's right!" Lilia said with a cheering voice, "Please, mommy, don't cry." She begged as Théodore stood up from the sofa.

"Mom, you seem worried. But do not. The most important things is that i am here. I will bring you some tea, okay? I'll make tea for everyone!" He smiled as he ran to the kitchen without waiting for his family's answer.

Once he arrived in the kitchen, Théodore sighed. He loved his family more than anything, but her mother had tendencies of worrying to much for him. He was a big boy, now. He could do things on his own without getting in danger. As he waiting for the water to boil, his mind wandered of the famous «Dead Body». It was almost impossible to find this kind of this these days...

Yes, this was incredible, a true mystery, the strangest thing that ever happened to Théodore's life. He knew this was bad to think like that, he perfectly knew it, but he loved mysteries.

As he was day dreaming, the mail flap opened and a black letter appeared on the floor. Théodore glanced at it, and a small sparkle appeared into his eyes. A black letter, nothing written in it? This wasn't a letter from the governement for sure, their logo was nowhere to be seen. Another mystery? Théodore's eyes sparkled. He took the letter between his hands and looked at his family, still focused on reasuring Mrs Jean.

"There is no need of worrying mom more. I'll take a look at it, and then, i'll see if i show this to mom and dad." He thought as he put the letter into his jacket.

"Tea's ready!" He said as he put the hot water into the mug, and smiled as he heard his sister screaming in joy.

After hearing the news, both sisters sat silently for several moments. Somebody actually died? Joan had almost expected it to be the case, but to actually hear about it...

"I...I'm pretty sure we don't need to wake Mom and Dad," she said quietly. That much was definitely true; if anything, people would be talking about this for years to come. It was little comfort, though. Cadence didn't respond, holding her head in her hands and quietly muttering to herself.

Joan didn't have to listen closely to know what she was saying. "Sis," she said as she hugged Cadence, "stop beating yourself up. We had no way of knowing what happened."

Finally, Cadence looked up, but she just turned her gaze to the door. Noticing the black envelope on the ground, Cadence picked it up and brought it to the couch. "No points for guessing the sender," Joan said, trying to lighten the mood.

"Hah. So, wanna open this now and give it to Mom and Dad in the morning, or wait until they wake up to look at this possibly urgent information?", Cadence asked jokingly. The question was obviously rhetorical. "Seriously though, you've always been better at opening letters."

Personally, Joan would've waited until morning, but there was something exciting about keeping this between her and her sister. Mom and Dad were constant worry-warts, anyway. Smiling, Joan opened up the letter.

The tea finished just in time for the broadcast, Eve sitting down as she turned the television on. As she blew on the tea to cool it, she ran a thousand and one possibilities through her mind. She knew that whatever had happened was something big. They do not cancel a major celebration for nothing after all. Setting the tea aside on a small table next to her couch she sat forward as the President began to speak.

"Hello everyone this is President Simpson and I would like to clarify now that this is not a drill. We have had many in the past for whenever bad things happen and I would like to say it was one of those times. Sadly it is not. We have lived in peace for a very long time, only the old and in rare events the seriously sick would die, but tonight is different. There was a dead body found at 11:24 pm this evening. Eve stared at her television as it went blank, her mind reeling. A murder? Here? Her mind raced with scenarios and theories on what had happened. Spurned lover? A business partner wronged? Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of her mail flap, the quick, metal snap of it opening and closing. Shaking her head she would come out of a daze, standing as she looked across the room to the door. A small, black envelop sat on the ground, silent, bearing an air of mystery around it. Eve ran a hand through her short, chocolaty hair as she eyed the envelop from across the room. Mail was delivered in the morning, and that was hours away. Taking a breath she crossed the room to pick up the envelop, turning it this way and that, examining it as she went to sit back down on her couch. With nothing giving away what was inside or who sent it she had little choice but to open it, sliding her thumb under the seal.

Delastarh was staring at the black tv screen. A body found dead from an unidentified cause? How was it possible? Everything was perfectly under control all the time, nobody could even sneeze without somebody from the government knowing!

The blond man didn't have time to think about it further that a sound came from his entrance door. Lifting an eyebrow, Delastarh stood up and walking to the door only to find a black envelope. Confused, the man quickly opened the door and looked around, but nobody was there.

"What the..."

Delastarh closed the door and picked up the envelope on the floor. He flipped it, trying to find a name or something. Nothing. Just a perfect black envelope.

"That is very strange," he mumbled.

This had to be for him since he was living by himself. That or the person got the wrong address. The man went to the kitchen and took a small kitchen knife to cut open the envelope. Let's see what was in there.

Cas stood near Eve's window, unable to catch her attention. She sighed, and started to leave. Hesitation to hold as Cas heard something over the television in Eve's house. Slightly muffled by the window, Cas could barely make out the announcement leading her to quickly run home to catch the last bit.
Busting through the door and nearly tripping over her doormat, Cas frantically flipped on her television. She knelt in front of the screen, inches away as the President spoke.
A dead body, Cas felt a smile spread across her face, Things are changing. This is something new. The announcement had barely ended when Cas heard something hit the rug in front of the door.
She glanced over her shoulder to see a black envelope resting against the shag of the carpet. She crawled across the floor and delicately picked it up. Cas looked around her nearly empty house. Obviously, the letter must be for her, seeing how she lived alone. With a curious expression, Cas gave the envelope a light shake.

MJ finally made it back to her room at about 1:30 am. She had spent some time asking her father tons of questions, never getting a good answer. She then had to make her way through tons of reporters just to make it back to the living quarter. She unlocked the door to her room stepping inside. She felt the crumple of a piece of paper under her foot. She bent down picking up the black envelope. How did she have this? She never got letter delivered directly to her sealed it always had to go through security first, but it was completely sealed. She walked over and sat on her couch, eyeing the black mysterious thing. Maybe I should get one of the body guards. She quickly decided against the idea. 'Screw it, what's the worst that could happen?' she said opening the envelope. Out came a simple sheet of paper, the writing was very vague but intriguing at the same time.

Dear Reader,
Today's event is only the beginning. You trust in your government so much but you will soon regret that decision. Things as you know it now are going to change. How soon? Well, that depends on you. Come to the abandon government building on the south end of the dome if your interested in knowing more. We hope to see you there.

Sincerely,
Red Dawn

MJ looked at the letter shocked. What could her father be hiding from her? However as she thought about it he seemed extremely secretive here lately. She scratched her head contemplating on what she should do. Quietly she stood and went to her door, looking outside. There was only one guard on duty and he was fast asleep. She went back inside and backed a few things into her bag and putting it on. Successfully, she was able to close the door and sneak past her guard. This could be a trap for all she knew, back before the dome kidnapping were common. The note said that things were changing and she hated being out of the loop on things. If her father wasn't going to give her any information on what was going on maybe this Red Dawn would.

(You can either choose to go to the meeting or not. If you don't that's fine but you just wont be able to post for a while so it would be better to go. Once everyone post we will have a small time skip were everyone makes it to the meeting place at about the same time.)

Théodore was laying down on his bed, re-reading the black letter again, and again, and again. How mysterious a simple piece of paper could be. The boy was amazed. If his sister or his parents entered the house right now, they would find him with sparkles into his eyes.

Yes, Théodore was a good boy, a good student, social, even clever, and a good person. Someone died, that was horrible, and that was something that never ever happened. But the mystery was too big for him, he was exited.

"Things are about to change." What things? And it depended on «Him»? How could it be possible? Even if he had some qualities, he wasn't original. He was a common student after all. How could he be that important? He felt like some of those main character, from kids movies he watched when he was younger. The one who goes on a big adventure to see the world and saves it. But he wasn't one of those character, he was afraid of high places and a weakling. He wasn't a hero...

He was about to get up and put the letter into the trash. No need to show it to his parents. His mom was already to worried to show her this. And he would get lectured for hiding this letter. And his parents will probably watch him closely after that. Thay was something he didn't wanted.

But curiosity is a bad habit and Théodore was curious. He looked at the letter again. There was a meeting in the abandonned building in the south. Théo knew this building. His mother always forbid him to go near it when he was a child. And what if this was a trap? They have probably killed this person...

Damn it, Théodore was curious, he was able to run away if things became dangerous, and more, he wasn't a child anymore. He was able to take decisions for himself.

He tied up his hair into a low-ponytail, and put on one of his largest hoodie, with a big hood to hide his face. He had no trouble to get out of his house. Lilia was sleeping and his parents too. He put a dummy under his bed sheet, just in case someone checked his room. The hardest thing now was to go to that building without being noticed. Bur Théodore knew the path, so it won't be difficult, right?

Okay, so this letter wasn't from the government. Things were changing? This dead body fiasco was only the beginning? They'd soon regret trusting the government?! Joan furrowed her brows. Just who was this "Red Dawn", anyway? One thing was certain; they definitely couldn't tell their parents about the letter.

Meanwhile, Cadence gripped the letter excitedly. "This is even better than I thought," she squealed, "We're going on an adventure!"

Joan sighed. If only she shared the same sentiments as her twin. "You realize that this is completely against the government, right? If somebody sees us..."

"Stop worrying," Cadence interrupted, "nobody's gonna see us! Besides, we've finally got the chance to go on a real adventure!". With that, Cadence started walking towards the door.

"Fine. If you're gonna go on your own anyway, I guess I have to go with you."

Before they left, Joan ripped up the letter and threw it in the garbage. There was really nothing else they could do with it. Mom and Dad were vehemently pro-government, and it was dangerous to take something so treasonous with them. The only thing they'd possibly need it for was the location, but that was easy to remember.

Delastarh read the words on the letter over and over, just to make sure he read that right. He had no idea what that meant, but it was getting pretty interesting. This could maybe get him in troubles, though...

The blond man shook his head. He couldn't hesitate now! This was probably the adventure he had been looking for all his life! A mystery lying under their perfect city? Count him in!

He shoved the letter in his pocket. Now he only had to find a way to get out without being seen. His stupid hobby of looking too much at the cameras was gonna come in handy, after all! With a bit of caution, he'll be able to sneak without being seen. No time to lose, let's go!
