Y'all. You cannot reserve entire families of insects for yourself. Please pick one genera or species. If you haven't written your lore yet keep this in mind. I don't want to bar someone from playing the insect type they want. There is no need for one person to have every single species of one type of insect.
So, I am not one of those offenders, right? All my stuff is good? The rules also say the lore needs to be approved by me before it is posted. Some of you are not submitting it to me before you put it up. Please do this.
You are absolutely fine yes.So, I am not one of those offenders, right? All my stuff is good?
Okay good. Just wanted to be sure. You are absolutely fine yes.
It's fine. Maybe they misread something along the way. Maybe just say they can only make lore for the specific insect they chose to play? But maybe it's on me, I assumed ppl knew what a species was. I think I was wrong to do that.
Woops I am so sorry! I must have missed reading somewhere about having to send you the info first. Do I need to change anything or resend it to your PM?The rules also say the lore needs to be approved by me before it is posted. Some of you are not submitting it to me before you put it up. You technically chose a genus, so though there is a lot of diversity in carpenter bees, and a lot of them are big, charismatic species, you're good. There are also a lot of other genera very similar to carpenter bees: Mason bees, wool carder bees, leaf cutter bees, sand bees mining bees etc. I had to check the people to wanted entire families of insects, and now I'll put a little taxonomy crash course up in the lore for people who need it. I've been relying on the scientific definition of a species, which now that I think about it, is never actually taught in any system.Woops I am so sorry! True. The only reason I know what it is, is because of my own studies. You technically chose a genus, so though there is a lot of diversity in carpenter bees, and a lot of them are big, charismatic species, you're good. Not a mod, but I went and read your Lore for the Deathshead Moths; insofar as I can tell, the only part where you might possibly overstep is where you mention they trade with bees, but to be honest I can't really see how that'd be bad, considering Silver already mentioned honey is a tradable among bees; ergo, your species lore isn't overreaching out of the one you picked.SilverFlight
Now that I've read your rules, I see that some policies differ from what I assumed. Is everything I've written for Deathshead Moths ok so far? Do you have any changes you would make, or suggestions for what direction I should go?
Thanks! I'm glad they intrigue you. I'll be sure to write more when/if Silver approves what I've got so far. I definitely don't want to get attached to an idea that ultimately won't work. I'm just hoping what I've got is accepted on an official basis. The reason they trade with bees is because IRL deathshead moths steal honey from beehives. Not a mod, but I went and read your Lore for the Deathshead Moths; insofar as I can tell, the only part where you might possibly overstep is where you mention they trade with bees, but to be honest I can't really see how that'd be bad, considering Silver already mentioned honey is a tradable among bees; ergo, your species lore isn't overreaching out of the one you picked.
TL: DR, 90% sure you're okay.
Also I really wanna learn more about your moths.

If my concept for deathshead moths is beyond adjustment, I'll try for critter-wrangling ticks. I just thought that they might be a tad OP, which was why I went with the moths.
No worries man, I made sure to clarify what I meant by species up in the lore now, so no one else falls into that pit.I would also like to apologize for my previous misunderstanding of the rules, hopefully my species now abides by the rules, I didn't want to cause any trouble, again sorry
I know Bird, no worries, you can take your time. It's fine! I will try to get CS up by tomorrow. It's been some pretty busy (and harsh) days for me...

Ok, I will be starting the thread imminently, but I will post only once or twice in the first week in the main thread, to give ppl who haven't gotten their characters up a chance. What I will also do is put up the side-story thread, so super actives can write in there between themselves, making up short interactions with their characters.
Sound good?
If you changed your mind about the thread, let me know and I won't tag you anymore.
