Realistic or Modern ☂ 」INOGAKU ⦙ ooc

sasaki yukiko
stem department: electrical and mechanical engineering
EPGFmU8.gif
yukiko
Don't let her looks fool you - though small in stature and ubelievably cute, Yukiko is incredibly dense. Socially oblivious and tactless in the most harmless way, Yukiko has no filter, and needs no permission to let her opinions and thoughts fly. A romantic lost cause, Yukiko has a very small circle of friends given how abrasive pure honesty can be. This, of course, leads to a sufficient lack of confidence. Indeed, self-depricating jokes are Yukiko's strongest form of humor. To play off her settling dread that she's unlikeable and will be forever alone, she treats everything like a game. More specifically, like the dating sims she so favors on the lonely nights when she doesn't have piles of homework to do.

She's also dense in the sense that there's no possible way that much energy could be stored in such a small body. Standing at a measely 149cm and barely tipping the scale at 49kg, one has to wonder where all the food she eats goes. If there's one person everyone can rely on having a seemingly limitless snack supply, it's Yukiko. Of course, she's also the most generous person you'll meet when it comes to food. She'll freely give you a pack of chips or cook up some fresh rice at the drop of a hat. A boundless ball of energy, it's a surprise she's not actually in the sports department. Despite her seemingly endless endurance, Yukiko isn't coordinated enough for sports in the slightest. Sleep isn't a forieng concept - much like an engine, she'll slow to a crawl the less fuel, or food, she has in her. As Newton's first law goes, objects at rest tend to stay at rest - the longer Yukiko remains inactive, the more likely she'll just give up on whatever she was doing.

The one thing she's not completely hopeless in, is her affinity for math and practical thinking. Excelling in both science and math in primary and secondary school, Yukiko almost didn't apply to Inogaku Academy, for fear of failure and a strong belief that she wasn't good at math at all. She also struggled with the idea of being an engineer, wanting initially to work in the humanities to maintain what little marketable wife material she had. If it weren't for her loving and supporting mother, she wouldn't be where she is today.

@AKKaleb
alright! so kasho is more or less accepted, although there are some things I want to address before you start on your CS. They'll arrive in your discord PM's. c:

Yueda Natsumi
pfa department: visual arts
superthumb.jpg
natsumi
Natsumi Yueda is a clear-headed and gentle individual. Although seemingly soft-spoken at first encounter, one would find that once she grows fond of someone, she won’t shy away from public displays of affection. She is the type who will go out of their way to please others. Yueda takes a while to warm up to due to her judgemental and close minded nature, she is easy to disappoint and prefers to choose her friends wisely and based on similar interests.

The fact that Yueda is painfully picky and takes forever to make decisions caused the prospect of attending Inogaku to be a stressful one. To her parents dismay their daughter changed her major from 'Biology' to 'Visual Arts' a month before the first school year began.

Natsumi has a tendency to overthink and her memory on academically driven subjects is practically non-existent. It is simply a cycle of re-learning and forgetting. She gets flustered when faced with simple mathematic equations. Ashamed of her lack of proficiency in the STEM fields, Yueda simply skipped those classes altogether. She dislikes feeling inefficient and puts up a rebellious front to prove a point. She is impractical and manipulative when her ideals are challenged.

Luckily, her attention to detail is one that is commonly praised by teachers. She knows how to balance work and play, and because of this always finished her coursework by the deadline and is perceived to be an organised student. Natsumi is also sensitive to others personalities and emotions. A trait that makes her likeable to her peers. She is trustworthy and assumes a motherly role within her friend group.

As a child, ideas came naturally to her. Yueda is happiest when she has freedom to create. She is hopeful that studying at Inogaku Academy will bring her one step closer to her dream of becoming a graphic designer.

L ladyaliciaaa I just wanted to point out that though I'm not sure if journalism is a specific major in Inogaku (I'll have to check with mono on that one because we talked about something similar before) but it's definitely not a major that would be in pfa department. It would be in the general education department because the ge department seems to be like the liberal arts department in universities. I feel like journalism would be too specific (a bit like genetics or organic chemistry major) to be in inogaku but that doesn't mean that it can't be her focus when picking and choosing her classes. For example she can pick journalism classes as her elective classes.

Botany (plant science) also wouldn't be a major in inogaku because while there might be biology classes focused on plant life the major is too specific for a high school host.

Inogaku, while it's system is like a university's, is still a high school in the end. If inogaku had full on higher level college classes (such as 300 or 500 level courses) you wouldn't really need a university anymore. XD

Edit note: this isn't feedback >v>;;; I'm just putting up a point and leaving it here to clear up this matter for other people as well. = v =;;;

katou mei
pfa department: costume and set design
Zi1V9XG.jpg
mei
Mei's name is a popular one even outside the PFA department, having gained a reputation for the interesting outfits he's worn over the course of his stay in Inogaku. The design major thrives on recognition, but the attention that comes alongside the flashy ensemble is just a bonus to its real purpose. More often than not, they're simply practice runs for the more difficult costumes he has to make for those in the theater club. A perfectionist at heart, he's one who takes into account both the appearance and the wearer's ability to move, hence why he'll put a variation on for a day before deeming it worthy of the stage.

It's this same perfectionist personality that makes him difficult to deal with on a work level. If he feels that anyone else is not performing up to par, he'll quit, refusing to waste his time on anything that can't meet his personal standards. It's this elitism that makes his group projects few and far in between; most of his portfolio consists of fashion and individual costumes with only a few images of completed set designs tossed in. Though mildly ashamed of the fact, his pride keeps him apologizing and trying to make amends with those he'd worked with before.

Simple perusal will reveal that Mei's someone who has difficulty making lasting relationships. He's practically impossible to work with, yet socially he's a popular individual. Still, no one knows much outside what he chooses to reveal, leaving the observant few to wonder if he really does have any friends.

itou mayu
stem department: general chemistry
op5Hl5Q.jpg
mayu
To put it simply Mayu is a quiet spirit. Generally secluded in her room studying or pursuing a hobby, it can be rare seeing her wander elsewhere without any motive. Not due to a hatred of others, though instead so she could focus on her educational career rather than maintaining relations with others. This naturally left her with a small yet tightly-knit circle, and nonetheless she is content with it.

Born in a rather demanding family, Mayu grew to naturally take her education with extreme seriousness and to push herself hard to reach seemingly unattainable goals. Throughout her life this led her with a pile of stress. Her setting her head down on a pile of papers, and then giving a deep and long sigh. In the end however Mayu seemingly always gets through it in one piece, mostly from a day consisting of no sleep. This hyperfocus on her future success - while she's essentially torturing herself each day - is also what gets her through each day, because without it she has nothing too much to show for herself.

As described earlier Mayu is a quiet individual. She often sets herself in the background as she watches everything unfold, only coming in once called upon. Putting on a smile and carrying on a conversation, Mayu can often be a pleasant individual - though she's often also extremely subdued. It always feels as if she's hiding something, whether it be a small criticism for someone's attire or something larger. She's a rather neutral figure externally in this sense; if she doesn't have anything nice to say, she keeps her mouth shut. And if two sides bicker, Mayu tries to comfort them both.

Though she is known for her short fuse in some distinct circumstances.

Passionate about her studies, when something takes her attention away from it to a point in which she can't focus, Mayu is known to blow up. She can be...erratic after this point, irritable and concerned whenever her grades dip. Mayu always feels as if she's a ticking time-bomb to this respect, hence why she is content with living the quiet lifestyle she currently leads.

kobayashi shun
sge department: non-major
1BhmjZV.jpg
shun
Shun doesn't have much of a presence, with people often forgetting they're even his classmate despite the many months that have passed since the start of the school year. He doesn't mind the fact much. He's used to being the guy in the background, so being thrust into the spotlight would've made him uneasy.

The male possesses very little interest in the world outside his gaming consoles, his attention transfixed on the stories that happen within them. Frankly, he comes off as a gloomy antisocial otaku, a fact he does little to dispute. People are always reluctant to talk to him. It's always a surprise to learn that Shun isn't as socially inept as he comes across; speaking with him reveals a slightly shy, but more or less normal teenager. His lack of interaction proves to be a choice rather than a result of any unusual behavior.

Due to his lack of motivation, Shun often winds up in the bottom percentile of his year. He always does well enough to pass, but he's never going to end up in the top ten academically. Shun didn't even choose to go to Inogaku; he'd be much more content studying in a normal high school. His parents, however, had bigger plans for him, pinning most of their hopes on the younger son since his older brother wound up a freeter. He passed the entrance exams for Inogaku, but he'd already planned on enrolling in the nearby high school. But when your parents literally lock you out of the house with a train ticket and luggage, it's hard to refuse.

man that was atrocious to read; i'll probs redo it once i'm finished with the shit i need to do this sem

Tobu Ryouta
stem department: physics
043e1aca25f2e5fc5ad020d9a739514c.jpg
ryouta
Typically painted as a stoic, masculine guy. Ryouta is the prime example of the phrase "actions speak louder than words." To top that off, the boy is capable of throwing a vicious hook- although it is rare for him to let his temper out on people. Previously trained in boxing, Ryouta Tobu is a tough rival in any fight, be it physical or mental. He’s been through a lot, with a brother he once looked up to on trial for abusing his wife and his mother battling a heart illness.

Albeit rather vain and prone to boasting during a dip in conversation, Ryouta tends to be aware of his vices and attempts to play them down amongst friends and acquaintances. It is undeniable however that the guy downright sucks at group work, he leaves it to the responsible ones to pull his weight and waves off any criticism with nonchalance and a little bullying since he knows some of em' are afraid of him. This makes his classmates weary of being grouped with him whenever the teacher assigns collaborative tasks, knowing that he will put off his work until the last minute or not do it at all. Misplacing his priorities on leisure and sleep.

Ryouta has matured from his tough experiences and he’s a quick learner with strong morals and unwavering judgement. He is friendly enough and has no problem making small talk with classmates. The physics student doesn’t like explaining himself and leaves people to think what they want to think, he isn’t super worried about rumours and tries not to let them get to him. Ryouta has bouts of playfulness and gets energetic when talking about subjects that interest him. Predominantly: food, his favourite boxing champs and astronomy.

Unwilling to see his parents struggle any longer into their senior years, the boy quit his sparring training to fully focus on his studies. He knew they didn't like seeing a new cut on his face when he got home. For the remainder of Ryouta’s pre-teen years, applying into a reputable school under a scholarship was everything. He has plans on becoming a physicist and he's halfway there.

After getting accepted into Inogaku, seeing his parents overjoyed was enough for Ryouta. His goal in life is to make them proud and some dreams are worth giving up for them.

tokugawa Kiyoko
stem department: physics
JsATTUH.jpg
kiyoko
Kiyoko is strong, loud and fierce. Beating around the bush isn’t quite her style - she prefers getting straight to the point, no matter what the point is. This quality of hers makes her honest - sometime brutally so. Matched with a quick wit, her sharp tongue knows no limits and although this makes her fun to be around with, those with a sensitive side would not get along with her. But you’d have to be very lucky to have her company, for she rarely socialises due to her goal of excelling at school.

She has an admirable work ethic and is very ambtitious, but can blur the line between right and wrong when striving to achiieve her goals. Although she would never hurt somebody on purpose, her inability to pick up hidden cues makes her ignorant towards other people’s distresses if they’re not upfront about them. She has very high expectations of herself and this perfectionism makes her bossy and short tempered when it comes to anything-work related, especially when it involves groups. She can stand a lack of knowledge, but not incompetency, and therefore prefers working alone - she is not a team player.

Kiyoko has a strong character, loud and opinionated as she is, with an even stronger moral compass. If she senses injustice, no matter where, she will rise up against it. Due to her past, she is an advocate for fairness and equality.

Although she has most things a person needs to succeed in life, she lacks charisma. Relationships don’t come easily to her, and if they do, she holds onto them tightly. The lack of friends means an unflinching loyalty to those close to her, and she envies the people who can make friends with the bat of an eye.
