Emmie blushed a little, "I'm Emmie." She pulled her hand out from his grip but continued to follow closely "Where are you taking me? Are there others?" Emmie looked pretty tiny compared to him, being only 5'2.
Faust: He wakes up to the somewhat far off sound of yelling/screaming and falls out of the tree. "What?!" He unsheathes his sword, looking very disheveled.
"We all are starving". Austin realized he hadn't eaten anything in a few days. "We'll find you some food first, before anyone else, OK?" he promised her.
Faust: He hears a female voice and Austin talking, slowly growing louder as they come closer. Relaxing, he sheathes his sword and leans against the tree.
Emmie nodded and smiled sheepishly. She didn't like being treated like a kid.
"I can hunt. I can skin a rabbit better than a butcher, an' I know how to build a fire pit. I'll be useful." She sighed, getting impatient, and trotted a bit to catch up with the man. "Austin, right?"
"Yea.. Austin. And I never said you wouldn't be useful. But a kids gotta eat first. They may have the smallest stomach, but require the most food because they're still growing." he explained to her.
Austin walked back into the camp and said "I found two girls... One is this little one named Emmie, and the other is nameless"
Emmie nodded but still felt she needed to prove her self, as most kids did in the presence of adults. She paused at the entrance of the clearing, and looked behind her.
Where did those bastard Zombies go? Emmie thought, but quickly forgot about them when she saw another man, leaning against a tree not too far off. She drew her dagger, "Just 'cause I'm with you now, doesn't mean I'm not on my guard. I'm thirteen, but won't hesitate to kill ya!"
Faust: He raises his hands in surrender and laughs cheerfully. "I won't lay a hand on you. Don't worry. It's just a habit of mine that formed from living partially in ancient times." He chuckles again.
Emmie brightened at the thought of food, and didn't really care about their intentions if she could just get something to eat.
The last time she ate, she had found a bird that was already dead, a zombie bite on it's wing. She had to cut off the wing to make it edible once she cooked it over a flame. It was terrible anyways
Austin climbed up into his tree, watching everyone down below again. He started thinking about Emmie. 'She won't last long. Not without a mentor at least. And that's only physical ability. What about mentally?'
Faust: The branches overhead rattle as some walnuts and apples fall down. After another minute, Faust himself drops out of the tree, munching on an apple. "No meat. I don't have a bow." He says in between bites.
Emmie was behind the other man faster than she knew she could even move. She saw the other fallen apples, but decided she wanted the one he had. She jumped up and snatched the apple out his hand, beaming mischievously.
Faust: He's a bit shocked when his apple disappears out of his hand, but grins when he sees who did it. "Well, I guess if you want that one..." He picks up two more apples, and tosses one to Austin.
Vermillion ran up to Austin, panting and tired. "There you are, you just took off without notice and I tried following you but I got lost." She looked around and saw new faces. "Who are you two?"
