Fandom Infamous: Repercussions

"Sigh, thank you for the save, Shard. That was getting hairy. I just hope Shadow will survive this. The sires are more powerful then we could have imagined."

The tunnel they are all walking in now lights up

"Luminescent crystals"

Shard is now wearing a black crystal dress, but she ignores it as if she wore it the whole time. They start heading in the direction of the tunnel.

"Where are we heading Shard?"

"Somewhere abut 10-25 miles out. Don't know nor care about specifics. We need to get far away from this."

Felix walks up next to Shard. "It's nice to see you Shard. How've you been?" He asked before he suddenly remembers something. "Crap! I had dinner in the oven and I forgot to take it out!"

"I'm fine Felix. You know, Shadow told me a couple of things about you. I'll just let that hang there for a bit. Either way, I need to focus on where we are. I can feel the tremors of the fight back there." (gonna go to bed... This is my last post tonight. See ya)

"Whatever he told you is probably a lie... and I just probably burnt a building down. Please tell me what he said, I want to clarify it!"

Sphinx crossed her arms and sighed. She stood near the back next to Max. He glared at Felix and Shard. "I thought not being jealous would be a lot easier....but it's not." She said, sighing. She shook her head. "I wish in could say I was better than Shard, but I'm not, sadly."

Max looked at her. "You know what you have over her? A deep connection with Felix. Beyond just petty attraction, he know you as a deep friend. He hardly knows her, but he knows as much about your life as you do, literally! No need to be jealous. While you may not be as strong a fighter, you are the link to our normal lives. You don't fight, you live, and I think that's beautiful."

Sphinx looked at him. "Were you up there when I was hacking up those monsters? I can fight!" She said. She then smiled a little, realizing his true point. "I guess...but what's stopping Shard from developing a deep relationship with Felix?" She said, sighing. She then stared at Shards skin and sighed, envying her skin tone. "Who could compete with that skin? It's so..." She paused, looking at the skin on her arm. "Not blue..."

Max looks at her and smiles. "Felix is a confused teenager, his hormones are all over the place, and we know it. He doesn't know what he's doing. But what I do know is he isn't shallow. He doesn't care about beauty... he's just distracted right now is all."

Sphinx sighed and shrugged. "I guess you're right...but if we're not suppose to judge a book by the cover, what's the point in having the cover?" She said, sighing. "Let's face it. I'm definitely no composition against her." She said, frowning and looking down.

Max sighed, I thought this phase was supposed to happen during puberty, not at 19! I guess that shows how much I know about girls. He hugs her with one arm. "Listen, you are a beautiful girl on the inside. She has the initial advantage, but as I said, Felix isn't shallow. If he doesn't find something in her that he loves, he'll move on. And since you are the only other girl, as well as one of his best friends, he'll immediately turn to you."

Sphinx sighed. "I suppose...........but.........but what if he does find something in her he loves? Well, then I guess I'll be fine. Hell, I could even be one of the Groomsmen." She said, chuckling to herself. She then smiled. "I think I'll choose to be happy now."

Max smiles at Sphinx "Yeah, that's definitely good. If he finds something in her he loves, which I kinda doubt, then he'll be happy. And maybe you'll find someone else." While he's at it, and Sphinx is thinking so heavily about it, maybe he can coax some memories back. "Was there anyone special before the blast?"

Sphinx flinched slightly at the question. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure...he or she gave me the sapphire necklace...but I don't remember who..." She said frowning in defeat. "Maybe if I were to find the necklace, I would get some memories..."

"Well then, we should do that. But at least you remember you had one." Max says. "I hope nothing happened to him. I once had a boyfriend, and well... things didn't turn out well."

Sphinx looked at him. "What happened? Tell me all about it...I'm all ears." She said with a smile, placing a hand on his shoulder.

Max looked down and took in a gulp of air. "Well, as you know, I worked for the DUP, but I never told anyone why I quit. I was happily employed, one of their best agents. Conduit after conduit brought down because of me. It was the life. Occasionally, however, a conduit fought back so violently we were forced to execute them. One day I heard reports of a conduit who knew too much, we had no choice but to take him out. When I got to the scene it was... him. I had to apprehend him. As the captain of the squad, I was charged with the occasional executions we did." Max said, tears starting to come out. "I had to look in his eyes as I put a bullet through his head."

Sphinx's eyes widened as she looked at him with pity mix with a little guilt. "I'm so sorry! I had no idea it was such a painful story! I'm sorry for making you share it!" She said, hugging him.

He hugs her back. "It's okay... in fact, thank you. You've reminded me why I fight. Besides, it's about time I share my story." He suddenly feels another pair of arms wrap around. He looks to his right to find Felix there.

"I heard the story. I'm sorry for your loss."

"How'd you hear?"

"It was... kinda loud. I'm pretty sure everyone in the tunnel heard." Max blushes with embarrassment and decides to screw with Felix.

"Hey, Felix." He says quietly enough so only the three of them could hear it. "Have you noticed the dress Shard's wearing."

"Huh?" He says, and then suddenly notices the short and small crystal dress that Shard's wearing. His eyes go wide and is mouth hangs up. Max strains to hold back his laughter.

"Okay, even if this makes you jealous, you have to admit it's hilarious."

Hayabusa listened to Max's story before tearing up himself. He quickly wiped his eyes so no one would see. He had to keep his slight image as a tough guy, right? "Wow.... Anyways, you said your worked in the DUP right? Tell me..... Have you ever heard of some type of project? Anything involving a child?"

Max looks over at Haybusa and thinks for a bit. "Um... yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember that. It was really high up, you had to be pretty high ranking to even KNOW it existed. Knowing all about it was a nigh impossible feat. I don't know everything, but I don know some stuff. Why?"

Hayabusa put his hands in his fist and sighed. "I think I was the DUP's dirty little secret. Their always ranting on about how 'bio-terrorist- are so dangerous but their not to shy to make their own huh?" Thoughts were racing though Hayabusa mind. There were so many questions he needed to ask Max, but so little time. "Just... Tell me anything you know about it." Just at that moment, Hayabusa heard a faint voice in the back of his mind. So quiet, that if anyone had dropped a pin, he would have missed it completely. Did ya miss me? Hayabusa shook his head, dismissing the thought as some type of sleep deprived hallucination.

Sphinx looked at Felix's expression when he saw the dress. She then looked down at her own torn skinny jeans and T-shirt. She looked at Shard's dress and sighed. "If I could get a blue one of those..." She muttered.

Max looks at Hayabusa. "Well, as I said, I don't know much, but here goes. I heard that they went through millions of children, seeing who could survive their test. How they got millions of children, I don't know. It was probably along the like of a hundered or so, but I don't know. That child survived. I guess the point of the tests was that if they could survive, they could copy their DNA to make an army... or something like that. The file I read on it was all weird. However, that child escaped before they could finish getting all the DNA. I don't know with the DNA they got, but I heard they kept testing with it."

Felix looks at her, "Why would you want one of those blue crystal dresses? While they are pretty, I must imagine they are uncomfortable. You rock casual."

Sphinx smiled widely at him. "You...you really think so?" She said. She looked down at her clothes and then back at Felix. "Thanks!" She said excitedly.

"Yeah, it's cool." Felix says, examining her. "You've got a kinda urban survivor outfit. It looks pretty cool. Realistic. That's kinda the outfit I try to go for. That dress would be nice for a more formal occasion, but it's probably not preferable in battle."
