CocoaMarshmallow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
For those returning:
The raid against Tediore had... mostly been a success.
It was a fast-in, fast-out operation. The data you needed was now yours. All that needed to be done, then, was to get back to Pandora, the hellhole of a planet from whence you came.
Then the alarms began to blare. Everything became a blur after that. Tediore guards poured out from all sides, ships flew overhead, the whole city's sirens rang out. Together with the Crimson Raiders, you retreated into their home ship- Sanctuary- and flew off into space with them, leaving behind the now-hostile planet once and for all.
But the multi-billiion dollar weapons corporation was not so willing to let you escape. As Sanctuary lurched and launched into light speed, the radar picked up a massive fleet following tail through hyperspace, a fleet even bigger than anyone had expected Tediore to send. The moment you exited hyperspace was the very moment they began firing. Streaks of gunmetal grey flew by Sanctuary, accompanied by barrages of lasers and explosives that pelted the ship. It shook and shuddered, and even though its shielding held steady, the Raiders knew it could not hold forever. Sanctuary returned fire and began to descend into the atmosphere as fast as it could, aiming to get into range of their bases' anti-air defenses.
That was when everything went wrong.
Countless more ships came from the depths of space. Their exteriors did not cry 'Tediore-' they weren't cheap enough, not rough enough, but most were sleeker, and many were twice as fast. Something big hit the ship, and the last thing you heard before the ship began to enter a free fall was the nastiest grinding of metal you'd heard since you got here. Sanctuary descended through the clouds at an alarming pace, and it was clear there would be no chance of restarting the engines. The Raiders rushed you to the escape pods, but there were only so many- only a few of you managed to escape that way, plummeting towards Pandora with no clear target in mind. Those who are here now were unlucky enough to be one of the many left on board the ship. Once you had descended past the stratosphere, it was clear that it was too late. The ship fell and fell, covered in a horrific blaze of fire, and shook the planet of Pandora as it hit the ground.
Whether you blacked out or not on impact was irrelevant. The ship broke into pieces, millions of pounds of metal dragging through ice and water with a deafeningly loud screech.
You were back on Pandora. This time, there was no way off the planet.

For those joining:
It happened fast.
The day had been normal. Well, normal as a day in your universe could be. It didn't matter what you had been doing beforehand. Perhaps you were relaxing. Maybe you had been in the midst of battle. Whatever took you did not care or wait.
The air ripped apart in front of you like a cloth being torn, and in its place was a purple rift. It pulled on you, and pulled hard, like a vacuum that only kept getting stronger by the moment. And even if you could hang on to something or resist the pull, either your strength failed you at some point, or something happened by sheer bad luck that caused you to get sucked into the rift.
The corridor you pulled into had walls that spiraled and spiraled. Lightning flashed and thunder clapped. You were left weightless as you floated through the endless, winding tunnel of nothingness.
Then, as fast as you had been taken, you were returned. But not to the world you knew.
The tunnel finally opened. You were deposited on the ground of somewhere unfamiliar... and horribly warm. It was then that you noticed the massive fires that surrounded you, accompanied by towering surfaces of broken, twisted metal like a miniature city made of steel and tungsten, and bodies that littered the ground. They wore armor and masks, leaving you unable to see their faces, but you knew they were either unconscious or dead.
Wherever you had been thrust, it couldn't have been good.

For everyone:
Chapter 1
"Rough Landing"
The ground is icy. Beyond the smoke and fire of the crashed ship you once knew- or did not know- as Sanctuary, you can see glaciers that stood tall over all else that you could see. Where the isn't ice and snow-covered rocks, there's water- freezing cold water that litters the land, weaving through cracks in the massive ice sheets that served as this place's ground. You may be thankful to have landed atop one of these sprawling ice sheets- if you didn't, perhaps you'd have even more problems than you do now.
The night sky is covered in stars and constellations, but you can't sit down and enjoy them even if you had the time to. Streaks of light dance across the sky, and you can see distant, intense flashes among them- explosions. It seems that the fleet that was once after those of you who had stolen from Tediore had turned on each other. Surely not all of them are on the same side- that much, you now know.
You are still surrounded by metal and fire, but now you notice... others. People who, thankfully, are not dead. Not one of them look exactly like you. Some are things you probably don't even recognize, species that are completely foreign to you. By all means, you're now stuck among strangers. For those of you who were there with the Crimson Raiders beforehand, you'd see many newcomers that certainly were not here before you crashed, and worryingly, not many from the team that you would recognize. Did they make it out? It's impossible to tell. But for now, all of you, no matter who you know and who you don't, are stuck with each other, surrounded by the remains of a burning ship, ice, freezing cold water, and towering glaciers with no destination in sight. And above all of that, staring down at you from space is the moon of Pandora, decorated with the massive emblem of a phoenix with a crown on its head.
It's probably best you assess your situation. Look for survivors, find a way out of this mess, interact with the only other life here- do whatever you desire.
