Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle (Finished! ---Whoo! (*^▽^)/)

Either of her hands was cupping the elbow of the opposite arm as she listened quietly to James', chewing her lower lip slightly. She wasn't the most clever of speakers and she didn't want to come out and just directly ask the questions she was given to present to Levitas so she wasn't too sure about how to go about gathering the information.

As she thought, the woman they had been tasked to find stepped outside. Lydia took a glance at the vial and then to the woman, nodding, "of course... is there something that we should call you?" she found it odd that they had given their introductions and didn't even know who this woman was. Seeing that the slaves she had were safe made Lydia a little less wary of her and so she thought she should warn her, "I want to tell you that... I am unsure of the intentions of the wolves. They seem like they have agreed to our terms... the terms that we set before we came to find you, but...."

Lydia's green eyes squinted slightly as she gazed off in the direction of the wolves, "one of them directed me to call him master, and this was after we were already out here... after it had already been agreed upon that we would be freed once we found you and cured their elder," she smiled meekly to the woman, "I am telling you this because you said that you had your fill of death today.. and should the wolves go back on their word..." she didn't want to finish the sentence, but she assumed that the stranger would understand what she was implying. She then smiled sweetly and put her hands behind her back, skipping away from the door slightly to go admire the great white dragon.

Echo listened to Lydia explaining their prime worries about the wolves as she agrees with her. "Lydia is right, ma'am. It will be difficult to convince the wolves to change their minds and way of life. To have such a drastic change..." The fawn shook her head, frowning softly. "...I would love to help if the wolves don't change their minds even when I want to cure one of them. We told the wolves that I'm a ....demigoddess that came to help them in favor of the reindeer gods..." The fawn's face turned red as she muttered in embarrassment at the end.

"If the wolves don't agree to our terms of releasing the slaves...then...can you help us change their minds and make them believe the reindeer gods are angry with them for not heeding our terms quickly? I don't want to hurt anybody but I do want to help those people more so. Get those collars off..."

Chenglei rubbed his neck as he remembers the collar they tried on him before. Fortunately there weren't any in his size. It still hurt to try them on though. "Lydia knows fire magic and Echo knows earth magic and is pretty strong too. I can act as a frantic victim to the village so they can understand how grave their stupidity can be." He piped in, not in a forgiving mood to any of the wolves except for the elder sickly one.

"You may call me Lady." said the woman to Lydia. She didn't seem to want to reveal her true name and turned to Echo and Chenglei. "I would see those despicable collars melted," she unconsciously touched her throat where light faded scars ran across them almost in a straight line, "the inner spikes keep us from becoming wolves again, it's like a bird whose wings are clipped so that it cannot fly again. Very well, I will help you settle this matter without bloodshed, what do you have in mind?"

Meanwhile, Levitas started hissing venomously again in the direction of the hill for the four wolves had come out and were cautiously approaching the group; Garthuk dizzily stepped out of the mound of snow he had rolled into and almost fainted when he saw how close he was to the white dragon.

The wolves hollered at the goblin in their native tongue and Garthuk replied with a shrug, scurrying to hide behind Lydia from Levitas. This was the woman who killed the deathknight, he should be pretty safe with her. The goblin asked how the talk was going for the cure for the shaman and after hearing Lydia's reply, spoke again to the wolves who hollered back.

"They wish to talk to the mysterious woman."

"They may. But they must be in the form of men, turn into wolves and they will be killed." said Lady.

The four wolves shape-shifted into men and slowly approached the group until they were a safe distance away from the dragon whom they were looking at in apprehension and controlled fear as though they had never seen anything like it before. The wendigos on the hill snorted at them angrily, but just stood glaring at them.

"Do you have the cure?" the goblin translated Lu Tarin's words. The question seemed to be directed at demigoddess Echo.

Levitas watched them guardedly. "If only Levitas was older, Levitas would breathe fire and all the slaves would be free. There would be no need for all this banter." he snarled, addressing himself in the third person.

Chenglei decided to tell his plan, grinning that disturbing grin that the girls have seen before. Echo could only stare with wide eyes as she listened.

They can act. Lady can pretend to be a messenger of another form of god that she can choose or the same reindeer one and demand the slaves to be free as that is her sole mission from said gods. That she will not exchange the cure if she doesn't take the slaves away from them or else...they will pay.

If they do not compromise, Levitas can pretend attack Echo to scare the wolves that came with them back to their village and make them believe that the gods are angry with them. If they still do not let them go after that, Echo and Lydia can hide somewhere and release their fire and earth magic, just enough to burn the roofs of their homes and make the ground uneven and trap them there. Chenglei and Garthuk could run with the wolves, acting like scared victims and tell the wolves over at the village that the reindeer gods are displeased with their selfish behavior for their personal comfort and not respecting others for their personal gain. That they will be punished and that's why Echo died in the first place, because she was sent to help them with a warning and did not accomplish her goal because of their selfishness.

"They need to learn the hard way." The blond told Lady. "Your wendigo friends can even help scare these wolves back as we scramble. Lydia can stay here with you two, another victim to Levitas' 'attack' and more reason for them to be scared. Then you three can fly over there as the wolves carry us back with the warning and ta-da~ Attack the area they live in and scare the spirit out of them so they can free the slaves. Heck, maybe after this, the other villages that have slaves will heed your word after this if the Scree wolves spread the word about you and your godly mission."

"...Chenglei...when were you this deviant?"

"Since I helped prank Young little Jams. Speaking of...If you are listening, can you act as a signal for all of us? Let me know when the girls arrive the village so I can sneak out with the slaves while they strike the village with their magic." He's pretty sure that they wanted to at least punch or set them on fire for the last few days. "So? Is that an okay plan with you, Miss Lady?"

"...and it can give the wolves some business with Garthuk too even appreciate his trade..." Echo muttered to herself, blinking. When the wolves came down and changed into their human forms, asking her if they have the cure, the fawn acted a bit scared. She shook her head and asked Garthuk to translate.

"She has it. She's a messenger from the gods and has the sole goal to free the slaves. If no one listens...then doom is brought down to them. Starting with their shamans and healers of the village." Echo's ears flattened back, trembling a bit. "Please. Free those slaves so the gods don't smite you or your people." She pleaded quietly as she looked down to the ground.

Lydia wasn't too disheartened by the fact that the woman wouldn't speak her true name. They all had their secrets. Of course Chenglei kind of just threw hers and Echo's abilities out there, so now the woman had the advantage of knowing that they had the power to manipulate manna. It was okay though, fire wasn't the only thing in Lydia's arsenal, just as Earth magic wasn't the only thing in Echo's. Though with Lady's response, it seemed they knew one secret of hers. Lydia turned to look at her mildly stunned, so she was a wolf too? She wondered what more there was to that story, but now wasn't the time to ask since Levitas seemed to be getting agitated.

She left the planning to the others since the only plan she had was to burn everything down. It was an either or for her, either the wolves started treating the slaves respectably and stopped calling them slaves, or Lydia was going to light everything on fire. She was mildly alarmed with the whole plan that Chenglei presented, mainly because she was trying to give them a chance and from where they were, they hadn't done that yet. They needed to actually go back to the village and see if the wolves would adhere to their word before setting a catastrophe upon them, but she was leaving the decision to Echo since she was the one that wanted to help them and not harm them above all else.

She smiled as Garthuk hid behind her, it reminded her of the mines at Holt when the Goblin mage they had defeated was following her around praising her. She told Garthuk to tell them that they had the cure but the woman would not give it to the elder until they freed the slaves.

She clenched her teeth when they wanted to speak with Lady. She didn't see what they possibly hoped to get out of her that hadn't already been told to them and so she braced herself, preparing to cast at a moment's notice. She became mildly frustrated then, realizing how much easier casting would be when it was rushed if she only needed simple phrases to focus on rather than saying out a whole rhyme. She sighed, watching as the wolves approached in their Human forms. Casting with shorter spells is something she definitely had to work on when they were back in the air.

She backed slightly nearer to Levitas, skirting around Garthuk some as she didn't want to be near the wolves, especially when they hadn't addressed her. She didn't trust them, she was still suspicious that they weren't going to do as they said. That was when Levitas spoke and Lydia couldn't help but smile at the way he was speaking but saw what he said as an opening to present the questions that James' had given her without being too obvious, "older? dragons aren't born able to breathe fire?"

Aodh, still slightly distracted by the dragon, tried his best to remember who each person was, but he knew it would take him a while. He could memorize entire chapters from books, word for word, but when it came to people, he was hopeless. Going from face to face, he started to recognize some of them from the newspaper. Quickly racking through his brain, Aodh realized that he was in the presence of companions of the Pendragons'. This could be his chance to learn more of the dragon egg he had heard about so long ago.

"I actually had a collection of ancient battle armour, but I have that stashed safely with my mother. I am mostly interested in the dragons, and their mysterious disappearance so long ago. Most people have forgotten about it, but I think with recent events, it is fresh on everyone's minds, and I plan to collect as much information as I can," Aodh said to the dazzling soldier.

Practically bursting with excitement, Aodh nearly missed the entire conversation, but when the wolf people came over, he jumped and hid behind the closest person to him, which happened to be a satyr. Peering out from behind the legs of the satyr, Aodh slowly pieced together what was being discussed. The wolves wanted a cure for something or other, the group he was currently with wanted the slaves, such as himself, freed. Aodh wished he could help, but he knew that he currently hadn't practiced the ancient spells he had found enough to be of any use. The only things he had were his helicopter back pack, which he for some reason still couldn't fly with, his shrink ray, and his ice hose. Feeling a bit peckish, Aodh procured a tiny cinnamon roll from his pocket, charged up his ray, and shot the pastry so it returned to normal size. Quickly chowing on the pastry, Aodh tapped on the satyr's leg.

Whispering to the satyr, who he thinks was called Echo, Aodh said, "I am not sure if I can be of much help, but I'd love to do what I can. With the assistance of my propeller, I can move pretty fact on ice, plus I have this freeze hose. Is there anyway I can help to free the other slaves." Smiling, he looked up at her hopefully.

Echo knew what Chenglei was planning to do: he wanted to scare the wolves enough to make them listen and change their ways so it doesn't happen again. Thing is it's a crazy plan and she honestly didn't know if it was a good one but...

It's a bit better then to wait if the wolves can change within time that they do not have. So she's going along with his plan.

When she felt a tap on her leg, Echo looked over to the penguin and listened, smiling gently at him. He's so sweet, wanting to help when he doesn't need to...

Maybe he can help with putting out the fires once the wolves let go of the slaves? That's if they needed to flambé the place. They needed to know if the wolves would actually do it first and that means they have to go back to the village...

She hopes that they do listen.

Chenglei became interested when the penguin said he was studying about dragons. Perhaps with his help, they can understand dragons more. 'I'm sure the prince will be okay with his assistance.' The soldier thought. Before he can ask Aodh however, the wolves came by in human form and he stayed quiet.

The blond will ask Aodh later once this whole thing is done.

"No, we breathe fire when our roar deepens and when we are bigger, so says Lady in the scrolls and stone tablets she's read." said Levitas to Lydia somewhat disappointedly as though he has always wanted to breathe fire. "Levitas is only thirty-four winters old, Lady says he has twenty more winters until he can breathe fire, but she is not certain, which is good because Levitas feels that this year will be the year he breathes fire."

For the first time he took his fierce eyes away from the wolves and looked down at Lydia. "That is very shiny silver." he said interestedly, the side of his scaly head looming too close to her to get a good look at the bangles hanging from her ears. He sniffed her pockets. "And you have gold." his eyes glistened excitedly. He began to talk proudly about his treasure horde, he seemed to be fond of gems, shiny crystals, and precious metal.

Meanwhile, Lady nodded at Chenglei's plan. "I like it. We shall do that, it's better than my plan of destroying the village." he looked to Echo when she spoke to the wolves. They looked nervously between themselves. They were apparently very superstitious because they agreed immediately.

"Our father promised that he will and so he will do it." said Lu Tarin. "But you must stay because you can heal. You will always have mushrooms, grass, and bark to eat, a warm bed of our finest cloth, and servants to wait on you night and day. We will also look for a husband for you among our reindeer."

"You stay too." Chitawee pointed at Lydia. "You can wear your black clothes, okay?"

Echo froze when she heard what the wolves said. They are going so far to make her and Lydia stay, even to find a husband for her...with one of their reindeer they are herding!! She felt a bit insulted as she realized these wolves really took the goblin's words into heart about her 'origin' story. Bloody Merlin-! That's just really-!

'I seriously want to punch them...' She thought as her anxiety grew. Her mind swirled around and around, wondering how are they able to get out of this mess until...

"...I cannot stay. I have a husband already." What did she just say?

"You took me away from the one the gods has chosen for me. Someone of your elk from a different tribe named Ho Nehe and he willingly let me go to help you with my guard and advisor, but I need to go back to him." What is spewing out of her mouth right now? What did she just say?!

"I cannot disobey the gods. I must return to Ho Nehe once I help your people and cure the shaman."

WHAT IS SHE SAYING?! WHERE DID THIS IDEA COME FROM?! Her face is turning redder and redder as she calmly spoke, letting Garthuk to translate that back at the wolves. Oh Merlin...Is Johnny even okay with her saying all of this?! They just agreed to talking to his family about them being together. What will they think if the Scree wolves spread this around?! His family is going to be so pissed or so worried that their son was wed to a bloody 'demigoddess' and wouldn't tell them about it until later-!

Echo wanted to scream, her face is as red as a dark cherry at this point. She knows James is hearing all of this too-! Oh bloody Merlin!! He must be laughing! Oh no-!

Chenglei had to bite down on his bottom lip as he listens to the seemingly calm and meek fawn talking, holding back his laughter. It's rather amusing to see and hear her say that. He's pretty sure the his dear friend will be pleased to know about this. Though when she mentioned about a guard and advisor, he shook his head lightly.

'So I'm the guard and Lydia is her advisor? That's really clever of you, Echo.' He thought as he watched the wolves' reaction to this piece of information.

She looked thoughtful as she listened to Levitas intently, nodding her head in understanding. This was a good opening for the questions she was given to ask, "so you both don't know a lot about dragons? Are you the only one on this side of the Storm Wall?" she leaned back slightly as his eyes focused on her, momentarily wondering if she was annoying him, but as he mentioned shiny silver, she smiled slightly, and raised her hands to either of the little hoops decorating her earlobes, "oh.. thanks?" she giggled slightly and looked perplexed when he mentioned gold. She didn't usually carry gold on her and this caused her to start searching her pockets until she found a single gold coin, 'wow... he has a keen nose for gold!' she smiled at the thought and looked at the coin, it was from a time when she had gone to see Frederick for lunch and he had insisted on buying so she hadn't needed the money, "here you go."

Lydia smiled up at him and offered him the coin, it wasn't a treasure horde and he would probably lose it in his, but she thought it was a nice gesture. Her attention was quickly diverted from the dragon and once he took the coin, if he chose to do so, she'd focus more fully on what the wolves were saying. She couldn't believe what she had just heard. Were they honestly suggesting that Echo... and a reindeer....?

Lydia's face went blank as she tried to process what they had just said, and when Chitawee told her to stay? Then she remembered him trying to get her to call him master. She had been right in being suspicious, they had no intention of freeing anyone and this nonsense was the last straw since the whole point of them venturing to find the cure was specifically to get their own freedom.

Lydia coughed gently into a balled up fist, her eyes closed as she tried to gain her composure before focusing her mind on what she was about to do and visualizing the fireball in her head before she whispered into her balled up fist, "Burning flame, heed my call. Reduce to cinders, Fireball!" her arm was thrown away from her in a quick gesture, fingers splayed as she seemed to throw the fire from the palm of her hand in an innocuous direction. It flew in a bright blaze before it collided with the ground and slowly fizzled out, melting the snow and charring the ground where it hit, "Garthuk. I am though playing around," she stated simply and that look of rage that so frequently crossed her features appeared on her face as she glared at the wolves daringly.

"You are not my master," she pointed at Chitawee, "these are not my lands," she gestured around them all, "and I will not be imprisoned by your primal way of life! You would think that after what happened to your elder at the hands of our new friend when you refused to mend your ways that you would not be so stupid as to continue on the path you are on," Lydia was on a warpath, she was never mindful of her small stature and her expression was locked in a rage filled glare, "did you honestly think that after that first encounter with Lady that there would be no others? And so soon after your village was virtually destroyed you would dare to try to enslave more people?"

Her hands tightened into tiny fists at her sides, her knuckles popping with the gesture, "you are not honorable people. You are dishonorable beasts. Choose. Either live like beasts or live as people. If you choose beasts, I will gladly help you with that!"

Echo flinched when she saw the telltale light of a fireball in an unknown direction on the snow, her green eyes widened as she finally looked up and stared at Lydia. She listened in her lecture to the winged wolf, looking a bit worried as the goblin translated for her witch friend. The fawn really hopes that Lydia will calm down however...she's right. The wolves might say that they will free the slaves but would they stop kidnapping others afterwards? It seems doubtful with the way the wolf brothers keep demanding Lydia, her, and Chenglei with their travels.

'Maybe with this, the wolves really will stop that.' The red head thought before calmly walking over to an angry Lydia and gently placed her hand over her shoulder. She smiled at her for a second then she looked over at the wolves too, for once in this whole mission, did Echo really see and note on all the details of these wolves. Her green eyes sharpened, the corner of her lips turned down as she glared heatedly at them.

Chenglei chuckled, feeling proud of the two girls standing up against the wolves who are stupid enough to try to convince them like that. He shook his head as he sighed. The blond might be in charge of taking care of these kids, but they know how to defend themselves without his help, even when he felt a brotherly bond with most of them.

"You must choose carefully. Echo and I cannot stop her guard's anger and no one will help you out here...not from her at least." Chenglei decided to add as he can see that Echo will not calm her down. In fact she's supporting her by standing by her. The blond stayed where he was, by the door with the penguin and Lady, grinning with this very disturbing grin as his eyes glittered in mischief.

Listening in to the conversation, Aodh thought about how odd it was for the wolves to offer a reindeer as a husband instead of possible a choice between a reindeer or a human, or maybe something else entirely. He also could clearly tell that Echo was lying about being married, but he knew, from his time spent with them, that the wolves would be oblivious to her lies. Although her red face indicated to Aodh that there was a different story related to the lie she just told. Maybe if he was lucky and got to stay with the group, he could learn the truth about everyone. He jumped when a sudden fireball was cast into the air.

Trying to be ever so sneaky, Aodh waddled to the place where the fireball landed. He studied the fire, trying to discern if there were any noticeable differences between real fire and magic fire. From all his observations, the fire seemed to be identical to real fire, although he would have to compare again with a real fire as well, in a controlled environment. Jotting a few notes down, Aodh waddled over towards the dragon.

"Hello, sorry for not introducing myself earlier, I can get caught up in my excitement. My name is Aodh. I couldn't help but overhear that you haven't developed the ability to breathe fire yet, is that true?" asked Aodh in a low voice, as to not disturb the negotiations. Not waiting for an answer, he continued, "From the ancient texts that I have discovered, it is not that you develop the ability to breathe fire after more than fifty winters. According to the text's I found, dragon's don't have an innate ability to breathe fire, but instead have to earn the knowledge of a certain spell, passed down by the elders to the young ones after a certain age."

Sitting next to the dragon, Aodh half paid attention to the negotiations while he flipped through his catalog for any information on the development of fire breath for dragons.

To the dragon, he said, "I'll see if I have any information about fire breath in this journal, but it could have been an earlier discovery, and in a different journal."

" Wendigo Territory, Northern Lowland Tundra "

'What did Echo say?' thought James, surprised, miles away somewhere in the tundra town of Winslow. He chuckled, amused; Johnny who had just come back from outside and was shaking snow off his boots before entering his room, looked up immediately.

"No one in town has ever seen wyverns or white flying monsters in Baffin --- what happened?"

"Lydia''s being tiny but mighty." said James smoothly. He's going to leave telling Echo's public declaration that she and Johnny were wed to her, and he couldn't wait to see the shocked look on Johnny's face when she did.

* * * *

The four wolves looked like they didn't believe that Echo already had a husband, but when Lydia threw her fireball out of nowhere they yelped in surprise, fur blossoming and clothes melding into their skin as they defensively shape-shifted into giant wolves as big as bears; Levitas dropped the coin as he hissed and stood on his hind legs, hulking and growing in size until he was a gigantic wendigo whose great horns reached the top of the trees; he scooped up Aodh who was like a small stone in his huge claws and gently lowered the penguin archeologist behind him near the house hill where the freed slaves had all scurried back inside.

"Agan! Agan, Tachit!" said Lu Tarin and Tachit bolted off to the direction of the canoes; Garthuk had disappeared and was probably hiding somewhere. " Ige, ili amu mung ayas." he said to Lydia while Chitawee and the other wolf with him faced them, tensed ready to either fight or flee. "Abi ng otilya, ng ma ayas ilayas sa mung pa."

"He's saying you four are no longer his slaves, he wants the cure now and said that his father will set the slaves free. The one running away is probably going back to Scree." said Lady. "We may have a fight on our hands when we get there, but if their alpha gave you his word, he usually won't go back on it. A lot of our culture is based on trust according to one's words. What do you wish to do? Levitas can catch them and we can all go to Scree now."

In a way, Lydia was like a riled up kitten. She was typically pretty meek and quiet, she could be playful and sweet, endearing and warm. When she was strongly upset by something, she was all claws and teeth. She didn't react much as Chenglei and Echo chimed in, urging the wolves to listen to her, her jaw set and her gaze fixed. She did however react when Levitas reacted to the wolves changing, realizing what she had set in motion and her eyes widening slightly for a moment before she placed a hand over her face and shook her head. She was glad that Lady spoke the language of the wolves since Garthuk had disappeared. She wasn't upset by that, she had just caused a bit of chaos.

When Lady translated what was said, Lydia sighed slightly and put her hands out, palms down, focusing on the wolves once again, "Lady? Translate for me please?" Lydia's lips screwed up as she thought of what she wanted to say before nodding to herself and speaking slowly so she was sure that she didn't stammer or mess up what she was saying, "I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to burn your village. I just want you to realize that the people you have imprisoned are just as alive as you and that you have no right to lord over anyone else just because you are wolves and they aren't."

She took a deep breath and let that sink in before she spoke again, "we will not give you the cure now, but you have my word that I will not burn anything unless you give me reason to, that fire was only a warning because I wanted you to listen and it was hard for me to trust your word since you even just moments again had not planned on releasing myself and my friends."

She didn't move from her place, she wanted them to calm down and return to their Human forms, she honestly though it was slightly funny that they would turn into wolves when wolves were going to be more flammable because of their fur and because they would be bigger targets in those forms than if they had stayed Human, but she tried to erase those thoughts from her head, holding a hand out to ask Lady for a moment as she watched the wolves.

Zer0 Zer0 Katsuya Katsuya Urazek Urazek

"We were never his slaves to begin with..." Echo muttered, glaring defiantly at the wolves. Oh she's going to prove that she's together with someone all right. If Johnny's nearby, oh how she will not care about their traditions as she will kiss that man. Family nearby or not...

Though preferably not as she wants to give a good impression to his family...She really does...

Chenglei nodded at Lady's idea. "Yes, Lady of ladies. I believe it is best that your magnificent dragon catch them..." Then smiles widely, his eyes had a glint of mischief. He wondered if James told Johnny yet about what Echo said.

"..and head for Scree...hopefully these wolves will understand that we will leave them alone afterwards...now where is Garthuk? My goblin friend. No worries, she won't harm you." The very amused soldier walked to where he saw the goblin ran off, wanting to calm the poor guy. He doesn't blame him either; Lydia can be scary when she's angry.

Echo listened to Lydia's explanation, hoping that the wolves are willing to listen about this too. After that, Echo chimed in. "...We will go with you back to the village and leave with the slaves and in peace. Will you and your people do the same after we give you the cure?" The fawn's willing to just end this crazy situation already.

- Village of Scree -

" Mountain Forest, Upland Tundra, Baffin "

The wolves agreed immediately, they didn't wish to fight either. Tachit was called back and the wendigos picked everyone up and bounded for Scree. They weren't as fast as the wolves, but their giant strides and steady pace allowed them to reach the outskirts of the village in just four hours.

"Before we enter," said Lady when they were just a few miles away and everyone was still in the hairy arms of the giant wendigos, "will you all drink this?" she showed them a few small vials each with silvery white liquid that swirled and seemed to be like water turned into air, or air turned into water. "It's safe, it will merely make you forget you saw Levitas. I cannot let you leave with the knowledge that there is a dragon here. With what's happening with the world today, he might be taken away from me."

It seemed that there was a commotion in the village that could be heard even from here, sound of arguing and wolves fighting.

Katsuya Katsuya Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle Urazek Urazek

Echo sighed in relief when the wolves calmed down and let them ride together with Lady. Though having a wendigo carry them back to Scree is definitely an experience she'll never forget. 'I can't wait to tell Auntie Mel and papa!' The red head thought, smiling like a curious and excitable little kid as she looked up to have a better view to the giant creatures.

However, when she voiced her concern over Levitas, the fawn decided to tell her what their mission was, believing that it's fair to trade one secret with another.

"Actually Miss Lady, we're going to the storm wall to stop that dragon you heard in the papers. We already know that there are good dragons too." Renee told her about that when they were hanging out after chasing the shades away from Luthien.

"No worries. We would not tell a soul about your friend as he isn't part of the chaos that's out there. After all...we have secrets that none of us what to share to the world either. What's one more to protect an ally?" Chenglei comforted the strange woman, now hearing the wolves fighting against...someone?

"...How much roots you want to bet that the wolves are arguing with each other right now?" The blond chimed sarcastically as he really is not fond with this village.

Zer0 Zer0 Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle Urazek Urazek

It was a good thing that things were ended peacefully, there was no doubt in her mind that the wolves didn't want to fight because they knew it would be a losing battle for them. Lydia didn't particularly want their blood on her hands either, she just wanted them to not be so hard headed. Getting carried by the wendigo was a bit more pleasant than getting carried by the wolves, perhaps because she didn't feel quite so much like a rag doll.

When Lady presented the vials and asked that they drink them to forget Levitas, Lydia faltered slightly. She could understand the fear that Lady had because after all, while Lydia and her friends wouldn't do anything to take Levitas away, there were others that might if they knew he was there. Lydia's lips pursed, really it was now or never, "Lady... I have to say that I was suspicious of you at first, I was afraid that you were maybe as bad as the wolves until I saw how you were actually treating the slaves you freed so I trust your word that these won't harm us, but..."

She didn't exactly get to finish her sentence as the commotion in the village caught her attention. It was probably some sort of fighting over the slaves. Lydia's teeth clenched slightly as she grimaced. It wasn't exactly easy to find out more at this moment so all she had to pick something simple to try and sway Lady's understanding, but again she was halted in her words, though not by the commotion in the village, but by Echo herself. Lydia smiled, it was nice that she didn't have to say anything more because the fawn had it covered.

Lady told them that she hadn't read any newspapers since the black dragon appeared and she and Levitas stopped their travels and came back to Baffin to hide. "Is that why you were on airships? I thought you were flying for war though I found it odd that there were no powerful enemies here that would warrant a war fleet."

"Lady, let us go with them!" said Levitas excitedly in a strange guttural voice as he was a wendigo. "Levitas yearns to learn the fire breathing spell." he looked down at Aodh. "You will help Levitas look for his elders, Levitas was left behind, frozen in the ice when they disappeared."

Lady was stunned at this proposition. "W-we cannot just up and leave and join them. We don't know how the rest of their friends will react to you, they may not be as friendly, and anyway we have slaves to free. Let us talk about this when we are done here."

"Then let us free them immediately!"

The wolves and the goblin accepted the potion, Lu Tarin and Chitawee somewhat reluctantly, but being in the arms of a terrifying wendigo gave them no choice and they drank it. They started to look sleepy and somewhat dazed. Lady spoke some words over them while she touched their foreheads and when she was done she snapped her fingers and they straightened up as if nothing happened and began to wonder why everyone was looking at them and that they should get to the village already.

It turned out that those loyal to the alpha were fighting over those who did not wish for their slaves to be set free. The village was in uproar, fur flying as the giant wolves grappled, bit, and slashed among each other; everyone else was terrified were running into their homes or else peeking out of their hiding places. Order needed to be established immediately, the rebels were winning as four giant wolves ganged up on Ter' Nuak while his mate lay motionless and bloody nearby.

Lydia nodded to Lady's question and laughed slightly, "well we actually joined the fleet after a battle that ended a siege..." she spoke somewhat bashfully and looked away as she remembered Holt. A grin crossing her features to the enthusiasm of Levitas. She was glad he was wanting to go, but upon hearing a little more about him, she didn't think that it was likely he would be able to answer many of the questions she was given to ask.

As Lady expressed her hesitation, Lydia laughed slightly and shook her head, "you really don't need to worry about any of them...." she was going to reveal the bee, but then she thought of the implications of having a spy that would have known about the dragon even after the potion had been delivered to all of them present. She didn't think that Lady would like that and so decided to keep that bit of information to herself. She just nodded her head and watched as the others that were with them drank the potions and had their memories of Levitas erased.

Upon discovering what was happening in the village, Lydia sighed. It was kind of ironic in a way, these wolves made their livelihood by stealing the livelihood of others and now it was tearing them apart. They tore up other people's lives and their lives were no being shredded. It was a little sad too, they were set in their way of life until a random assortment of strangers showed up and threw their lives into disarray. She couldn't regret her decision to go against how they were living though. They were wrong for what they were doing and these wolves that were so set in their ways that they were attacking their own, needed to be stopped.

There had to be an easier way to deal with all of this without hurting any of the villagers. Lydia could easily take care of all of them, at the very least knocking them down for long enough to actually listen, but that wouldn't necessarily be pleasant. She didn't think the wolves with them making an effort to quell the rebellion would work since all of the wolves fighting were so preoccupied. The next best thing was to cast a few of their spells. After conferring with her friends, they came up with a plan that would allow them to calm the situation while at the same time not hurting any involved and that was a blind and bind combo by Lydia and Echo.

Lydia wasn't sneaky. Of course she didn't really need to be, if they were so engrossed in killing each other, too engrossed to even notice the wendigo that had showed up on their doorstep, it was hardly likely that they would notice a girl barely over five feet tall entering the village. What she was doing was a bit dangerous since her spell came from her in an outward burst rather than being cast in a set spot so she had to get as near to the scuffle as possible, and once she was sure she was a safe distance away, she began to cast, "To elude our enemies, sweep this dust up in a gale. Cast them into darkness, leave them blind, Shadow Veil!"

Those green eyes had closed as she focused her will and cast the spell, whatever dirt and dust there was on the floor sweeping up around her before pulsating out over all of the nearby wolves in a black dome that left them all blind, but it wouldn't last forever and from there it was up to Echo.

Echo joined in with Lydia about their friends, giggling at her implications of them. "Trust me Pumpkin: they are harmless." No way would the Pendragon siblings, Johnny, and Serena harm Levitas. Though they are going to have to hide him in the atelier since it would be terrible if Master Bertrand sees him. Renee has warned everyone about him, to be cautious while being outside.

When the unlikely group finished planning on how to stop this mess, Echo jumped off the Wendigo's arms and ran off into the village. Once she was close enough and Lydia blinding them, the fawn let out her 'Flora Flagellum' spell, thick and thin vines and roots from the trees nearby exploded out of the ground, wrapping the wolves down to the ground. She didn't let up as she walked closer to the free Alpha couple, calmly approaching them as she took out the medical herbs and small alchemist kit.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help you." Echo told to the Alpha male, knowing that he would understand once she showed him the herbs and lets him sniff it to confirm her purpose here. She mixed the herbs together and applied them to the wounded Alpha female before wrapping cloth on the wounds so she wouldn't get infected. She mentioned to the Alpha male if he could take her to their cave so she can rest and recover.

Chenglei, once the village is under control, went around the village to calm the slaves and citizens that didn't fight, mentioning them that it's okay to come out now. He lead the slaves out of the village and let's Lady talk with them as he watched the wolves who are with the Alpha calm down.

"Echo, you can let this one go. He's not going to harm anybody." The blond soldier let the fawn know who let go, making sure that they are not going to trick them and try to attack anybody else.

The red head sighed as she cured the shaman wolf, mentioning to him with gestures that he should rest for now and recover his strength. She didn't know if he took her words or not, but...at least he knows that she wants peace.

Chenglei and Echo regrouped to where Lydia was, looking a bit wary with the wolves that are free despite knowing that they are with the alpha and watched the brothers keeping tabs on their parents.

When the dust settled the wolves were crowding around 'Ter Nuak and his mate, worriedly. "Akra ku. Naha ila." he told them reassuringly and they went off to help the other injured.

The elderly wolf shaman, whose leg changed, fur growing and the dead skin peeling away to be replaced by new one, touched Echo's forehead with his nose and seemed to be speaking a blessing over her. Lady who had entered the dwelling to make peace with the shaman said that Echo has been marked. From now on, she can cross through Baffin safely, any wolf she meets along the way will know that she is a friend. The shaman also asked Echo to call the other three so that he can mark them too.

The goblin was very pleased with this, and was now more encouraged to do business in Baffin. He got his cart and most of his wares back and was eager to go on his way to Winslow to trade with the dwarves. He said he was going to come back to Scree once he's sent letters to his merchant brothers too.

'Ter Nuak thanked group for their intervention, and before their eyes banished those who rebelled including his sons after they told their father what happened over at the Mammoth Hills. Those who didn't shed blood may return to Scree once they've learned to obey their elders and leaders.

Lady and the wendigos took the slaves with them, though not all wanted to go and instead went their own way. After talking to Chenglei, she said that she and Levitas will meet them in Winslow after three days. The chopping of trees, transport of lumber and herds of cattle, and repairs in the damaged airships will take about a week at most as the storm they encountered days ago across the Shoflo Ocean really did them in.

Upon hearing about the archeologist penguin, James' voice told Chenglei through one of his hidden bees that the oriental prince wishes to extend an invitation to Aodh to join their expedition, to which he will be accorded comfortable living quarters, good food, and satisfying pay for his services. They didn't have a dragon expert as Aodh, and heavens know they need one beyond the Storm Wall. He also asked Chenglei to escort the archeologist to his home safely so that Aodh can make preparations, and then escort him to Winslow and into Johnny's home.

The prince was also pleased when the white dragon said he was interested to go beyond the Storm Wall too, and said that he himself will meet them in Winslow.

With that their adventure was complete, and they got three good comrades, the gratitude of the freed slaves, and a blessing from a Shaman. The elderly wolf gave them embroidered cloth, furs for beddings, food and let them keep the weapons and armor they chose. He watched them go, smiling, as they left the village.

Echo waved at the shaman elder, smiling widely as her group started to walk to Winslow. Everything was good at the end, she even got a blessing from a shaman wolf along with her friends! It's wonderful to know that they have safe passage through the Scree village lands and she's really happy that she can visit his family without much issue. The fawn is really excited to write back to her family soon so they will know about this adventure as well.

Though she's still worried about her public declaration to having a husband when said 'husband' wanted to keep their relationship quiet until they tell his family. Now she has to tell Johnny about this...and soon.

The fawn grimaced at the thought of making him angry for not thinking right and letting her mouth run. When she saw Johnny in the distance, the first thing she did was a running start, dropping the heavy items given to them and tackled him into the snowy ground. A white flurry of snow puffed up into the air before slowly coming down onto the pair. She hugged him tightly, hiding her face into the colorful furs he's wearing and muttered quietly onto his chest. Her ears twitched before flattening back.

"Johnnyitoldthewolfbrothersthati'malreadymarriedtoyou.I'm sorry!" She's a lot more nervous about his reaction then she thought. Her green eyes peeked out from his furs, looking into his eyes apologetically.

Chenglei is pleased that he gets to accompany the archeologist back to his home so he can pack and be ready for the storm wall. He made small talk with Aodh as they walked to Winslow where everyone else is at the moment. "Dear friend, are you sure have everything that you need?"

The blond soldier didn't mind carrying the items the penguin might need for the storm wall, pulling up the straps of his bag so his items don't fall off. Once they reached his friend's hometown with the penguin in tow, he lead him to the prince so they can have a talk about pay and such.

Lydia watched Echo as she worked, staying far enough away that the wolves wouldn't be able to grab her once they were freed if they decided to act up again so she could easily cast again if she needed to, but close enough that she would actually hit her target area. She felt honored when the elder wolf wanted to bless her and came to him happily, but she felt a little bad that all the slaves had left, that hadn't been entirely what they had bargained, they had asked that the slaves be treated like servants and paid for their services but they hadn't expected all of the slaves to leave entirely and she wondered how the wolves that had remained would get on. She also felt bad that the sons were banished as well. But she was glad that the wolves were looking at things differently and maybe now that they wouldn't appear so hostile to outsiders, maybe other species would come in willingly with Garthuk to provide services to the clan.

Needless to say, Lydia was a bit of a mixture of emotions, though that subsided once they reached Winslow and she saw James. She remembered the slight awkwardness when she had talked to him through the bee about being his and her cheeks flushed as she walked over to him, looking away bashfully. It was easy to say things to someone when one couldn't see who they were talking to, even if they knew who they were talking to so she was a bit embarrassed at her declaration to him which was made with heated emotions. Her mouth quirked into a shy smile and she held her hands behind her back coyly, "u-um... I-I missed you, James."

Johnny and James came galloping on Butters and Frey to meet Lydia and Echo half-way on the snowy road to town. Dismounting the giant ram, Johnny ran up happily arms wide open, squatted, bracing for impact, then happily caught Echo.

He hugged her too, and then he looked surprised. For a whole five minutes he was speechless, looking like he was thinking of the implications of this which must be serious if his expression was anything to judge by. Then he became determined and hugged her with all his heart. "Echo, it's alright, let's tell my family the truth about us."

Up the road, James beamed sunnily at Lydia, barely concealing the excitement on his face, "Lydia, I miss you too ~" he slowly embraced her, hug getting tighter and tighter, until with a contented smile, he enwrapped her fully. His hair was combed back today, he was wearing fresh winter grabs and he smelled like he just recently had a bath. James inhaled her scent deeply. "~ girlfriend." he smiled happily in her hair, ears red.
