Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle (Finished! ---Whoo! (*^▽^)/)

- Sea King Shrine -
" Floating Islands "
Johnny was sad Echo wasn't coming, but he understood and hugged her real tight, and kissed her full on the lips --- but it was too brief as he had to go immediately. "I love you, Echo!"

And with that, the dragons were off into the sky, James who was starting to climb down was forced to hold on tight. Kenren too shouted that the oldest Pendragon must go because the rest of the world who were putting their hopes on their group here on this side of the Storm Wall needed him more. And that to the best of his strength, Kenren will reunite their group once again, that they will cross the Storm Wall back home together. He swore it as a prince of the Orients, and as a man who has always kept his word.

James' heart ached as he watched the figure of Lydia dwindle farther and farther away. He hasn't sorted his feelings out yet, so there was no promise he could yell out to her that he would keep. "Lydia! I . . ."

But the howling wind of the dragon's flight was too loud and the rest of his words were drowned out, though it seems that he did not notice and just looked on until they rose up into the clouds and the Sea King's shrine could not be seen anymore.

"No, Renee, I want to eat this one." he huffed, struggling against her. "It's the best, and I deserve the best!" Seifer was not thinking straight.

Chink

He pulled so hard that the rock flew out from his grip and hit the egg; through the hot lava-like yolk, the silhouette of the hatchling stirred, and opened a glowing eye at the two. Seifer stopped struggling and stared.

Crack, craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack

A huge gap was spreading from somewhere in the egg as the hot yolk inside started to spill. "What have I done?" said Seifer, and immediately ran as far as possible with Renee.

Smash

A scaly snout erupted from the tip, followed by claws, then a head and out furled a ginormous baby dragon, flailing and making the loudest squeaks ever as it rolled around in the lava, destroying everything as it clumsily tried to get up; the magma didn't seem to affect it, and once it opened its large eyes and saw Renee and Seifer, it started to crawl towards them happily.

Serena held onto her violin tightly as she didn't try to leave Mizutsume's grasp, too nervous to get down and now it's really terrifying flying with dragons-!

Chenglei, who rode on the red dragon's back, held tightly onto it's mane and laid on his belly so he wouldn't fall but he couldn't hold back his wide and wild smile of excitement. Oh the adrenaline rush-! It brings back memories of all those fights when he was kid and teen-! Flying on a dragon, however, is a new experience and one he will never forget-!

"WOOO!!!" Chenglei howled.

Echo watched on, clasping her hands together and close to her chest, as if praying that all of her friends and her love will stay safe. No matter where they are. Then she walked over to Lydia and patted her back like before, giving her encouragement.

******

Once again, she's under a familiar situation with huge baby dragons and staring at her...This really should not be a habit. It really shouldn't.

Renee cringed, her wings flapping in horror as she watch Seifer hit the egg while he pulled away. She ran as far away as possible with Seifer and watched the baby move around and wiggle it's way out with the hot yolk. 'Well...there goes our food...if we could even eat the yolk without burning our tongues through.' She thought smartly before looking up at the baby dragon...

Renee froze, shocked that the baby dragon is crawling...towards them??

"Oh no...." She muttered, blushing at the idea that popped in her head. Maybe she's wrong? Echo did tell her before that baby animals tend to decide who's their parents are at birth...by looking at them...

Does this baby dragon not realize that it's parents are smaller than it is?? Guess not. Testing her theory, Renee walked over to the wiggling baby and placed a hand on it's snout, patting it gently.

"Hello. Welcome to the world." Renee greeted warmly, smiling wide. Her wings fluttered happily. This is weird.

It was a strange thing, wanting to focus on feelings of hatred and evil in order to subdue them but at the same time wanting to bury them because one was afraid of not being able to control them. This was the battle that Lydia was currently struggling with. She didn't want to turn a blind eye to the feelings the dragon's soul was trying to force on her because she didn't want them to gain control of her will, but at the same time, she wanted to tuck them away so she wouldn't have to feel them.

She caged them. in her thoughts she caged them and she caged the black dragon. She didn't take her thoughts from them, but she refused to let them out to wreak havoc. She didn't let her attention away from them for anything, except the sound of James' voice. It was then that she realized what was going on. The dragons were taking Hisaya. They needed Serena to calm him and James to keep him secure. It made her heart ache when James yelled about staying with her, a mixture of emotions filling her at that moment as a bittersweet smile crossed her face and she looked away, closing her eyes and simultaneously trying to block out the noise of the others while retaining the desire to keep listening to James protests. He did still want her, he just also wanted someone else. She didn't know if he wanted to stay out of guilt or because he cared as much as she thought he did, she tried to believe the latter and that bolstered her spirits somewhat.

As the decisions were made and the remainder of the group divided, Lydia took Echo's hand in thanks and squeezed it gently, giving her a grateful smile before she quickly made her way to her feet, pulling her earrings from her ears and running to the green dragon that had been coveting her eyes, "w-wait! I-I... I don't have much... but if you will take these... " she held out her silver hoops to the dragon, "c-could... could you give this to James?" she tugged her handkerchief from her pocket and held it out. She knew that James was torn. She knew that he didn't want to tell her that he would be with her when he didn't think he could. But she also knew where her own heart was, and that was with him.

As the dragons flew away and James' disappeared into the sky with them, Lydia watched them go until she could no longer see them.

Episode 11: The Nameless One

- Land of Awashima -
" Sunset "

chris-xia-asian-faction-horse.jpg

The green dragon seemed very astonished as though this was a very generous trade and agreed quite quickly, telling Lydia to tie the handkerchief and the earrings on her belly mane tightly before it told her to stand back, then it soared away.

Meanwhile, Johnny was shaking James to pull himself together and watch where they were going because he needs to remember the way back for his bees. Radio waves only had a communication radius of ten miles without a device to amplify its signal, and James link with his summons was less than that, so he had to see where they were going.

"I know, just . . . " he held up a hand, gesturing Johnny to get off. Lydia had looked away from him and it hurt. Tears were falling again and he wanted them to stop --- not a problem really as the wind from the dragon's flight whipped that and all the lose objects in his person off into the sky. There it was again, his guilt for hurting her and his fear that she won't come back . . . but he was getting ahead of himself. He reasoned that he was caught up in the moment, he needed to be calm and think properly, so that he can decide properly. No, he was definitely caught up in the moment, no way to be calm.

He needed a quiet moment, but now wasn't it. As soon as they land and he wasn't needed, he'll look for a quiet place by himself and think. So, rubbing his eyes and pulling the hood of his cloak over his head, he focused on the task at hand and memorized the passing landmarks of the rolling forests below --- it was their way back to their friends and family after all.

The dragon's flight was swift, they passed over the thick forest and the floating islands were no longer in sight after ten minutes. They flew across mountains, valleys, rivers, and seas, and did not stop until it was sunset, where everyone beheld an unique sight: a stone dragon, motionless in the sky, and on its back, houses upon houses of an ancient oriental design.

There were people and creatures walking along the streets, and below the twisting stone dragon were big rice paddies and small clumps of houses. They didn't mind Mizutsune and her companions flying through at all and even hailed them in greeting in a different dialect of Oriental that Chenglei would remember was how the ancestors of his people used to speak.

But there was odd about the creatures and people here. They seemed to be a meld between flesh, magic, and machine.

'STINKY, DO YOU NOT REMEMBER THIS LAND OF AWASHIMA?' said Mizutsune. 'THE SEA KING BROUGHT YOU HERE TO ME WHEN I WAS BASKING BY THE RICE FIELDS.'

The dragons began to circle around and descend, floating pass the stone dragon city which was about the same size as Mizutsune, and alighted on a large plateau overlooking the valley. There was a temple, or was it a palace here, and people who looked very much like Orientals greeted the dragons and were surprised at the foreigners they had brought.

'NEVERMIND THEM, HISAYA HAS RETURNED BUT HE IS SICK, I MUST SPEAK TO IZANAGI AND IZANAMI. EVERYONE, GET DOWN.' said Mizutsune.

Once everyone had slipped down, magic thrummed from the six dragons and before everyone's eyes began to shrink. The scales almost disappeared and their tails shortened. Claws became hands, until before them stood six beings, unnaturally tall, all with dragon horns, their skin and hair patterned like their true selves.

"Come, all of you. Follow." said the purple haired lady who was Mizutsune, who told Serena and James to walk on either side of her and keep close as she led them into the palace. She and her companions walked almost like an ape, or rather, like primitive man.

- Sea King's Shrine -
" Sunset "

"Your heart has calmed somewhat, Lydia Dubois." said King Aelin, after he told her to open the cage in her heart so that he can continue to pull the black dragon soul out. The evil thing was trying to make her keep it closed as there was nothing the Sea King could do if it was Lydia blocking him.

Kenren sat, meditating some ways away from camp. The recent events had overthrown his plans and now he was clearing his thoughts so that he can plan their next move. The soldiers that have fled regrouped up in the Sea King's shrine and were now eating the feast they had prepared for Mizutsune, but had been ignored by her. Nobody complained, as it was really, really good food.

In the end the prince decided that the only thing they can do now is support Lydia, wait for the others, continue their search for Renee and Seifer, and now quite possibly find out what happened to Bertrand. They had a huge source of information right here, and all the time to go about it.

For today and tomorrow though, he gave his soldiers leave to rest, to which they were all very grateful for.

Serena had her eyes closed the whole time they were flying as she really cannot take the speed. It wasn't until she heard Chenglei's astonishment from the side that she peeked her eyes open and let out a gasp before coughing the swift air going in her mouth.

The place is gorgeous! It's like an ancient Oriental city with some...steam? Machinery, is more like it now that she has a closer look. She really wanted to explore and play a tune from this...

If only Hisaya wasn't so panicky and wishing to die...maybe she can enjoy it more without worries.

Chenglei wished he could conjure up a summons that will link to the Prince because this place really feels like home but more fancier...with strange creatures walking around and in peace with each other. When they were finally let down to the ground, the blonde soldier could only gawk in secret as Serena was gawking in the open.

"Wow...Hi!!" Serena greeted, waving at the people who's staring at them. Then she sobered up when Mizutsume told them t- When can she transform? Dragons can change their forms?! That's so cool! That's really cool!

Chenglei can see his violinist friend's eyes sparkle as she admire the changes before following beside the woman with purple hair with Serena in tow.

Back in the Shrine, Echo smiled at Lydia for doing her best, nuzzling her when it was done for today. She looked over to the prince to see him meditating and sighed quietly. It seems nothing goes to the Prince's way of planning. Then again there's always unpredictable moments in life...that lesson she learned from looking out for Renee.

Weird things tend to happen to her of all people and Echo would not be surprised if something else happened to her and Seifer now.

The fawn grabbed a little something from the feast food for Lydia, the Sea King, and her to eat together and passed it to them while she munches on the vegetables and fruits. Her ears twitched. She felt a pang in her heart as her thoughts stayed on Johnny and wishing him all the luck while getting information from the green dragon.

Lydia was a bit surprised by the green dragons reaction, but she had nodded briskly and done as she was told, watching the green dragon leave. She pursed her lips slightly when she realized she hadn't asked her name and looked down at the ground, suspecting that was probably for the better after she thought of hers and the Sea King's conversation about names.

Heaving a loud sigh, her shoulders drooped and she stared at the ground for a while longer after the others had disappeared into the sky. She wondered what the future held and seeing them all get separated so quickly dampened her spirits greatly, but she couldn't dwell on that because there was still the matter of her pained heart that needed tending to. When she returned to the Sea King and he mentioned her heart, she smiled slightly, shrugging her shoulders as her hand was placed over the part of her in question, "I know what I feel... and... these feelings are mine... and I wouldn't trade them for anything... not even if it was possible not to have known them and not to have the pain of having them."

She smiled to Echo, "thank you for staying here with me," her attention then turned to King Aelin, laughing slightly, "he was making me feel things I know I otherwise wouldn't have felt... what I'd really like to do is bop him on the nose really hard with a stick!" she settled down after that, sitting again before the Sea King and opening her being to him so that he could continue his work, smiling to Echo gratefully when she brought food from the feast that had been prepared for the dragons and she actually ate relatively decently, despite what had just happened, she felt a little lighter and more at peace.

- Seifer Rathmore -
" Somewhere "
"Renee, don't touch it, come over here!" hissed Seifer who had ran all the way back up to the top. "It might do some heart voodoo on you!"

The black baby dragon was as large as a three-story house, big enough for Renee's largest owl griffin form to play wrestling with it. It had lupine features with a soft nose, furry tufts on its cheeks, and a long scaly back that gradually flowed down into a fluffy tail. Its little paws were so huge, showing that this little dragon was going to grow, much, much bigger in the future. It had silver irises that almost blended with the whites of its eyes and three white glowing scales --- or were they gems? --- on its forehead, that twinkled like stars. So much magic pulsed from the baby dragon, a strength Renee had felt before a long, long time ago when she was under the roots of Sunny the Manna tree.

It wiggled its ears mimicking the fluttering of Renee's wings and then sneezed mightily, covering her in snot. Then a foreign presence was calling in the borders of her mind, almost like the way Sunny and Luthien did, except this one was clumsy, pushed everywhere, and had a happiness so unbound at the feeling of Renee's mind that it blazed like a happy sun in her soul.

There were no words, but she understood what it was feeling: 'This is my home. I am happy. I am hungry.' Seifer must have felt the same thing because he was suddenly not talking.

The baby dragon sniffed Renee then raised a giant paw the size of a truck and playfully brought it down above her.

Katsuya Katsuya

"No problem, Pumpkin. I know Serena would have love to stay with you but..." Mizutsume took her away is what Echo wanted to say. The fawn couldn't help but feel bad for James and Serena when they were just picked up by a giant dragon but what can they do other than follow her?

"...It's so...cute...." She muttered, blinking.

Renee really wanted to retaliate Seifer by saying 'but you broke the egg first!' but something tugged on her mind for a second. Wings fluttered, her sunset colored eyes watched it's cute fuzzy ears wiggle like her wings and she can feel her smile shrunk into one that's really sweet and genuine and soft. She flinched when it sneezed on her, covered in snot.

"That's...really gross...." She commented quietly as she wiped the snot off her face before feeling that odd tug again, now recognizing that feeling. This dragon is...really similar to Sunny and Luthein when they wanted to talk with her but it's so clumsy. The happiness she felt...

Renee couldn't help but blush red like a cherry and her eyes are a bit teary. She looked at Seifer for a moment now that he isn't saying anything and she smiled warmly at him. How weird...but...it's so...

Then it's paw was about to come down on her and she squeaked in panic before she instinctively yelled out: "Reducio!" with her hand out towards the baby dragon that will squish her with it's massive paw-! 'Please work!' Renee thought as her wings puffed out in her panic of being a pancake.

- Seifer Rathmore -
" Somewhere "
"Renee!" yelled Seifer, stumbling down the slope, but the truck paw missed and a tree fell down with a crash instead as the black hatchling began to undoubtedly shrink.

It crawled forward, the thoughts in Renee's mind insisting that it wants to touch her and sniff her, that it was hungry, that it smelled food, but it was wobbly and stumbled around, sometimes sideways as its rear would go ahead of it while its front was still trying to get up, until it shrunk to the size of an elephant.

Seifer came and tried to pull Renee away protectively. "Stay still! Renee is not a toy --- okay, you can sniff me, but I'm not your papa."

But at the sight of him so close, it seemed to make the hatchling happier and it doubled its efforts to reach them. Insisting that they were its home and not to say they are not because it loves them, and needs them, and doesn't want to be alone because it's scary, and also that it's hungry and needs to poop now --- which it did.

After two more castings of the spell, though, the dragon was now the size of a big dog and Renee can't seem to be able to shrink it more at least until she got better with the spell to overcome the sheer power within it that it seemed to have no control of, making random things float, including Seifer and her whom it seems it wants to touch and sniff more than anything.

Renee stayed frozen until Seifer came and pulled her away from the large baby dragon and she tried shrinking it again and again until it was the size of a big dog. Well at least it won't step on them.

However when Seifer yelled out about not being it's 'Papa', Renee blushed red again; Her wings fluttering clumsily, flustered at thought. Is...that what her mother felt like when she saw her and James and the twins and Rhea??? Why does she feel dizzy? Probably the heat and not eating for two days. Yea that has to be it.

She couldn't really say anything, not even when it pooped because she knew how it felt like to lose parents by force...to imagine her parents tell her that they are not her parents...that would hurt a lot, wouldn't it?

The Pendragon teen yelped in shock when the baby made her and Seifer float and she flailed a bit; her wings puffed up again. "O-Okay! You can touch and sniff me more just put us down!"

Then...with a tone that her own mother would use on the twins when they misbehaved, Renee frowned a bit. "Now. Put us down now-!" She pointed her finger downwards with her other hand on her hip, her eyes stayed firm.

Did she just scold a baby dragon like a mom? Oh goodness she's just going to accept it, isn't she? AHHH!!!!

Once her and Seifer were put down (she landed gracefully on her feet), Renee quickly walked up to the pink-reddish eggs, grabbed one and a rock that's nearby, and walking back to place it on the floor. Then she cracked it open after a few good hits before giving the open egg to the baby dragon so it can eat.

"Here you go, Sweetie." Renee cooed as she smiled, her wings starting to relax. Then she looked at Seifer, asking him if he could hold the open egg for the baby while she grabs another one for them to eat and cook it.

Zer0 Zer0

Lydia nodded in understanding. Serena had already volunteered to stay when she was taken away, "it's okay... I get why the dragons needed her..." she was going to add that she understood why they needed James too, but she didn't think that was relevant and so just bit her lip instead, "having you here is equally as good," she smiled and took a bite of a piece of meat from the feast. She felt a bit stronger with Echo around, Echo had survived a lot when Lydia really thought about it and that reminded her of something, "hey Echo, I have a question... where does your strength come from?"

Katsuya Katsuya

"Training with my dad..." Echo shuddered at the horrible memories of her father throwing giant boulders at her when she was just a tiny child with sticks for arms and legs. "My father is wonderful and sweet. A bit goofy but...he throws boulders at me and made me run around Dawnsfield twenty times until I fainted from exhaustion..." She really hopes Lydia would not want that from her as she didn't want to remember that part of her life.

Zer0 Zer0 Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle

Lydia's eyes widened slightly to Echo's explanation behind her strength. She had always thought that there was something preternatural to her strength when it was perhaps something more typical, though she didn't really think that was typical at all. She snorted a soft laugh and shook her head, "well... your dad was there for you, so that's good!" at least she thought it was good, but she imagined that it made things relatively difficult, "I thought that it might have come from your antlers..." she laughed and rubbed her head slightly, rocking a bit where she sat, "though I guess that couldn't have been right since your strength didn't diminish after you broke them off," she remembered how Echo had told her not to freak out when she broke them the day after Lydia had returned to the castle and everyone was dying their hair black.

Katsuya Katsuya

Echo laughed awkwardly at Lydia's comment about her antlers before clearing her throat. "Right..." Then she looked over at the small witch with a raised brow. "Is there a reason why you are asking about my strength, Lydia?" She asked calmly but curious.

"Sweetie?" repeated Seifer once they were back down in the ground. "Oof!" The black dragon bowled them over sniffing them both happily, rubbing and wiggling on them enthusiastically.

'Smell. Nice smell. Smell together nicer. Happy. Home. Hungry. Safe.' It kept looking into their eyes and licking the side of their mouths the way a puppy would when it wants its mother to regurgitate food for it. Seifer did not want to make any sudden moves and just let it do what it wanted as he slowly inched away.

'Mine. Hungry. Mine. Home. Safe. Happy. Hungry, hungry, hungry.' it coiled itself around them both before it became upset Renee walked away.

When she asked Seifer to hold the egg, he looked like he got the gist of where this was going. "Renee, baby . . . " he made awkward gestures at the hatchling that uncoiled itself, sniffed the egg, snubbed it and instead crawled for the remains of its humungous egg where the lava had seemed to cook the flood of yolk into fluffy half-scrambled egg and began eating that instead. " . . . after we feed it. We're leaving this dragon here, right?"

Last edited:
Lydia had finished eating the meat she had picked up and now her hands rested on her ankles. She bit her lower lip slightly, her expression turning somewhat bashful, "w-well... I remember... when you broke your antlers, I was wondering about the magical properties... and I had wanted to ask for a piece but I didn't want to offend you."

Giggling slightly she leaned forward a bit, looking more closely at Echo and her regrowing antlers, "is it true that antlers have a slight fuzzy texture to them?"

Katsuya Katsuya

Renee looked at Seifer with a raised eyebrow when he asked her that, now wondering if maybe they should eat the half scrambled egg from the lava...maybe the top parts would be safer?

"Sweetheart, we can't leave it alone." She said, her brows furrowed a bit. "...It already believes we're it's parents and besides..." Renee smiled in a bit of humor.

"I tried to tell you to not crack the egg and yet the egg cracked from the rock you had. We have to take responsibility for it..." For making it hatch without it's real parents around and it would be terrible to leave a baby alone, dragon or not.

"Besides, now we know it won't eat us and we can have scrambled eggs for a couple more days." She mentioned to the reddish pink eggs that she's planning to take and eat for survival. "Unless...You afraid of it? A cute little thing like that?"

Zer0 Zer0

Echo nodded at Lydia's assumptions. "Yes, it has fur while my antler grows." Then she lowered her head a bit, showing her the now eight inch antlers that are growing. "You can ask for a piece if you want. I don't mind."

" Somewhere "
"Yeah, I'm afraid of it." said Seifer, unabashedly, "Also, I think you should change it back to its real size since it's a baby and babies need to eat a lot so that they'll be strong. It's growth might get stunted if it's not eating the real amount it should be eating --- not that I care." he added hastily. "Anyway, my point is, we can't take it with us while we're looking for the Aged Author and the manna tree --- how are we going to feed it? Also I'm pretty sure its real parents are going to come looking for it, so it's okay to leave it here. I doubt it can finish all the food in this place in one day, anyway, and now's our chance to escape!"

Yet, judging by how the plants seemed to have grown all around the egg until it was a grassy hill, and there was absence of giant footprints and even giant carcasses of past meals that one would usually find in a nest, it seemed that no mother or father dragon had nestled here for a very, very long time.

Katsuya Katsuya

Renee had to smile when she caught what Seifer just said about it's growth. It's really cute how he's trying to hide it. Then she frowned at what he said about it's parents.

"Sweetheart, look around us. There's long grass that nothing big stepped on to make a giant imprint. Not one giant footstep. There's no carcasses around the nest. Even we thought it's egg was a hill-" The Pendragon teen sighed. Her wings fluttered a bit. "I really doubt it's real parents are coming back..." The egg was abandoned. The baby dragon was abandoned or became an orphan.

"I'm sure there's nothing to be afraid of from the baby. It thinks we're it's parents-" She looked behind her to check something. "...He thinks we're his parents. Since he does think that, why don't we raise it? We can teach him while we're out here looking for Kenren and the group." Renee suggested, blushing red again.

"a-and I'll return his size once we can find food that's big enough for him without endangering all of us...for now, he has to stay this size so we can eat too."

Zer0 Zer0

- Seifer Rathmore -
" Somewhere "
" No, he's a baby, so he has to be put first. We can eat these pink eggs and forage around some more after we eat some of that yolk." said Seifer insistently, wiping hatchling saliva and goo away from him, though it was no use. "We have water, and I know people can survive for at least a week without food." his stomach grumbled hungrily.

The depression of land they were in was covered in the flood yolk as big as a small lake below. Scrambled eggs were so fluffy once they rose up from being cooked, but they were pretty sure that in its real size, the hatchling could gobble it all up in two days.

"See, Renee, just by saying that we have to keep it small, when it shouldn't be, just so that we can survive proves that we can't take care of it properly. Parents, should, you know . . . put their kids needs first . . ." he added, looking like he was remembering something in the past.

Katsuya Katsuya

Her eyes widened as she listened to Seifer before sighing again and walking up to him, wrapping her arms around his waist comfortingly. "I know that. Parents always puts their kids first. It's why I said we should keep him small. Not because we need to survive but so we can continue to look after him while we are out here. Have a better survival chance then to have it big and obvious for other predators who hunts baby dragons that are alone." Renee said.

"We need the energy to scrounge around and keep him fed. We need to make sure he doesn't know that we're suffering too. I read somewhere that children can just feel what their parents are feeling. If we're feeling sick from hunger, he's going to know and get worried and possibly get hurt in the long run. I don't want that. I don't want the baby to feel like it's a burden to us while we're looking out for him. That's why I said we should keep him small until...until we know for sure that we don't endanger him with the stupid lizard in our hearts." Renee reasoned, her red face turning redder and redder from being flustered. Her wings fluttered a bit.

"Seifer, sweetheart. We have to watch over him until we can find a bigger dragon to care for him or...at least learn how to care for a baby dragon that big."

Zer0 Zer0

- Seifer Rathmore -
" Somewhere "
"Keeping him small isn't looking out for him, because he needs to be big and eat big. We have to adapt to him, not him adapt to us." said Seifer, hugging Renee and resting his cheek on her head. "And besides, we didn't see or hear any large predators on our way here. Please change him back to his real size, Renee, I'll eat some of the yolk, then I'm going to go scout the area and . . . and look for a dragon to take care of it."

He looked up at the little hatchling, annoyed and also at Renee still annoyed. "I really don't want to take care of it, it might take days of delay, and the others need you to search for the manna tree since all of them only ever talked to you first. I also want to be free from the thing inside me." he scratched the back of his head, as he poured some of the cracked pink egg on the side of a lava stream and watched the red yolk sizzle up. He reluctantly began to eat it " We need to think about our priorities. Without magic, we can't do both. " he looked at his sealing cuff. "We are going to endanger this hatchling, Renee, and ourselves too."

Katsuya Katsuya

With a heavy heart, Renee nodded as she watched Seifer eat. He has a point...thing is...She didn't want the baby to feel like they were abandoning it too. That's the worst kind of feeling ever, she imagines as she swallows down her arguments.

But Seifer's right: Baby comes first and that means looking for someone who can care for him.

"Okay. I'll return the baby to his original size." She muttered quietly, her wings starting to wilt at the thought of what the baby will feel once they leave it with a new home with a real dragon to care for it. So with a wave of her hand, she released her spell until the baby dragon is in his original size, smiling a bit and patting his leg comfortingly. Then she ate some of the yolk too.

"...Seifer, I'm sorry about saying all that. I just...don't want him to think that we're going to abandon him too..." Renee admitted as he got ready to scout around. "But you're right; We can't care for him, not when we're like this and with a mission too..." By that point, her wings were wilted down, but she kept that smile on her face in case the baby dragon looked at her for whatever reason.

"...I'll stay here until you come back..." She said quietly. "Or should I come with you? Or maybe I shouldn't just in case? Will you be okay, Seifer?" She's worried about him being afraid and losing himself to the evil dragon within them. "I'm going to stay here until you come back to show us where to go, okay?" It's what she decided considering there's still enough food for the baby dragon for another day and so. Should be enough time for Seifer to find a huge dragon, right? Hopefully. Maybe. ACK!

"Stay safe, okay? and you should take some of the yolk in case you get hungry and so you don't faint. I'll make sure the baby doesn't leave the nest until you come back."

" Somewhere "
"We are going to abandon him." said Seifer. But at the look on Renee's face, he groaned. He didn't like seeing her sad. He ate, thinking out loud and talking with her about what they really want to do so that they can have a clear path. For him, he chose their mission and getting back to the others as quickly as possible, but more than anything he didn't want to leave Renee alone since he knows she'll stick to her decisions come hades or high waters no matter what, just like a bull-dozer even if he left.

"Renee, please choose. Our mission or taking care of the hatchling." said Seifer, after he ate his fill and got ready to leave. "I love you, so, if you choose him it's okay. But that'll probably mean not meeting with the others for a long time and probably looking for the manna tree and Aged author on our own or not, if we can't find someone to take care of him and we have to bring him with us and worry about feeding him until he grows up which might take months and years." he clutched at his heart. "I know the two months have passed and I'm still not like Hisaya who only had just a little of his soul left after that time. Renee, I'm sorry, I'm going to do my hardest to look for another dragon today, but if we can't find someone to take care of him, I'm going ahead. I want to be free from this thing inside me, I don't want to become a deathknight."

Hard decisions again...and after what he said about caring for a baby too...

Renee sighed, gulping as she thought for a moment. "...The mission. I choose the mission first..." Guilt. Guilt just pierced through her heart just now for saying that. She gripped on her shirt tight over where her heart is. "...After getting this dragon out of me though, I want to come back and check on him. Make sure he's going to be okay with his new life...So...I hope you'll find another dragon today...I really do because then I'll know for sure that someone is watching over him."

She looked at him with the familiar determined look in her watery eyes. Renee knows that the mission comes first. She promised to Seifer and his mother that she will help him turn back into a human and she will do that. She wants to help Kenren with this mission. She wants to save her parents and help Luthien stay alive.

However she also wants this baby dragon to grow strong and healthy because for some odd reason...she gets this feeling that this baby dragon is really powerful even for his own kind...she could be wrong here. THe only other dragon she knows is the evil ones over at Paroosia so...

"...Come back safely, okay Sweetheart? I'll be here waiting for you." Renee said, smiling as she stood up and went over to him to kiss his cheek. She's going to do her best to not get attached to baby dragon...not as attached as she already is anyways....
