Echo leaned down so she could whisper back. "I wrote about what we went through, you and me being together, and asking my aunt to come visit Winslow to talk to your father." Her green eyes looked over at her father who challenged Butters to a headbutting competition later in the future. "...It was about the marriage tradition...I wanted Auntie Mel to help us convince your family on letting us just be together without the marriage condition over our heads."

Chenglei squeezed his hand, not letting go when he grabbed a chair, pulled it up next to Kenren and sat down. He titled his head a bit, pondering about the question for a few minutes. "...I believe so, yes. You are as normal as anyone else can be...Why are you asking if you are normal?"

"Your family is so supportive." said Johnny, touched. He really likes them more now. "I had always wanted a supportive family. I think I'm going to like being part of your family, Echo, they're so nice . . ." he looked down at their hands, smiling. This was great. Apart from Echo, he was going to be part of real family. It was enough to make him tear up again.

Meanwhile, Seth was chastising himself for his brain getting jammed --- why did he say that? He is . . . This wasn't how he imagined meeting Serena's mom would be like. He glanced at Serena, he has to explain to her, but he cannot move from his spot in front of her mother. "Um . . . you see, um, Mrs. Lock, she threw pie at me and . . . so . . . yeah . . . ", he didn't know where to add the eyebrow shaving, " that . . . happened." he finished lamely.

Sucking in her breathe, Echo peeked back at Johnny. Her tan cheeks turned pink and smiled warmly at him. Ignoring the odd scene of her father lifting Butters up with one hand, the fawn kissed his sheep ear tenderly before kissing his cheek and brow. "Welcome to the family, Johnny..." She whispered ever so lovingly.

Meanwhile Serena slapped her mouth with her eyes wide. "...You mean...when I...and you?...When you shaved my eyebrows?!" Mrs. Lock stared some more before snorting...and she started to cackle. Really hard. The hands holding Seth's face lowered as she held her now aching stomach. "You-You-! Serena pied you and you..." This is the funniest thing the older Lock woman has ever heard in her entire life.

After taking a deep breathe to calm her cackling cackle, Mrs. Lock looked at Seth and patted his head, despite being a head taller then her.

"Well-! Aren't you a funny Romeo...Heheheh- Uh-huck!"

"..." Chenglei stayed quiet for a moment. "...Youse nah a bad son." He started as he looked at the dead emperor. "When my motha' dropped me of on Granny long ago, I was relieved dat she left meh. Dat she was gone...I kno' it ain't like death but when she did dat...I felt like a weight is lifted off meh shoulders. Nah more pressha from her. Nah more high expectations from her...I'm free from my motha's grasp..."

"Dis...Dis is nah different. I kno' ya dun hate him. Ya nevah wished death on 'im...but ya weren't close eitha. Not like how ya are wit' ya uncle...da one who taught ya how tuh play shogi. So...it's okay tuh feel like this, Ken'en." Chenglei wrapped an arm around Kenren's shoulders, nuzzling his cheek on his. "It's okay..."

" Healer's Tent "​

Johnny, melting with affection, turned ever so slowly from his spot on the chair, then just as slowly embraced her. "Thank you, Echo." In that moment, his family became bigger as Echo's family became his family too. He found himself thinking less about pursuing Echo for himself, and more of taking care of her for them too.

It made him look at her in a new light. It was different to be a good boyfriend for yourself to get what you want, compared to being a good boyfriend for her family. It was like it made him respect her more.

Over at Seth's side he was flustered as he tried to explain, "I was really annoyed at you, and then I saw your face, and . . . you were really pretty, alright, Serena?!" when Mrs. Lock cackled he was surprised. "Y-you have her crazy laugh."

When she patted his head he just stood there stammering, "Um . . ." he felt like he was too naughty, but Mrs. Lock was smiling. So he smiled too and just shrugged. "Is . . . that okay?"

"Okay." said Kenren, leaning into Chenglei's hug, smiling. He wrapped his arms around his lower waist carefully and just pressed forward, not touching his back. "That's how I feel right now . . . weight lifted off my shoulders. He had felt like an obstacle all these years . . . " he rested his head against Chenglei's and was quiet for a while. He kissed his cheek.

"So I was thinking . . . You've followed me everywhere and we usually did what I wanted to do, now I want to do what you want to do and go where you want to go."

"..." Serena stared at Seth with wide eyes that grew bigger in shock. She didn't know what to say. Her heart was pounding to fast and her mind went 'BOOM!'. Mrs. Lock, on the other hand, had things to say.

"No, it's not okay to go into her room at night." Mrs. Lock said, raising an eyebrow again. One hand over the other as she faced Seth head on. "I'm still her mother. Just because I find it funny doesn't mean I'm okay with you sneaking into her room when you two are dating..." She narrowed her eyes to make a point before softening up. "However...I never heard my daughter's music to be this warm before...not even when she wrote to me about her friends before the mess in Kingsbury happened...so I'm okay with you dating her..."

"But no more sneaking in her room!.....or be sneaky around her. I don't mind pranks, they're funny, but no sneaking!"

Chenglei fidgeted in place, blushing pink as he pondered some more. He wasn't used to hearing that from Kenren. He'd usually do what he wants, not the other way around...but he supposed a change of pace will be good.

"...We can visit granny and meh sistah...I miss 'em..." Then Chenglei leaned in to peck his nape before pecking his cheek. "I...I just want some peace and quiet wit' you and see meh family...our families first...before we 'officially' come back in the Orients..."

"Okay . . . " muttered Seth humbly. He usually didn't obey adults, or pretended to obey them, but he was going to make an exception this time. This was the lady who gave birth to Serena, if it wasn't for her, Serena wouldn't be here. He looked over at the violinist again and wondered if he freaked her out. "Serena, are you okay?"

"Alright." nodded Kenren, hugging Chenglei's waist. He looked over the body of his father. "Let's get out of this depressing tent." He kissed his cheek one last time, then stood up, smiling, holding his hand. "We better find Renee, the sooner we turn that monster into a tree, the better."

Chenglei chuckled, squeezing his hand as he stood up. "I believe she's in the healing tent." True to his word, Renee was seen at the healing tent.

Mrs. Lock smiled in appreciation, patting his head one more time before walking over to Serena who's currently frozen in the chair. At least she's still blinking and breathing. After a few second, the blonde violinist jolted out of her shock when her mother patted her head and she stuttered. "Y-Y-Yea, I'm o-okay. Really..." She wanted to think of a word or a phrase to describe the feeling...

"...My mind popped..." She lamely said, blushing red again.

Then the tent flap opened with Renee holding it back, her eyes searched around the area before finding her family and walked towards the twins. She wrapped her arms around them both, bringing them together in a tight hug as she tippy-toed to give them a kiss on their foreheads.

"...I love you Sen. I love you Seth."

Her wings fluttered and flapped happily. She wondered where Seifer was as she wanted to thank him for being part of the rescue team but...she didn't want to leave her family yet. The Pendragon older sister wanted to stay close to her parents and little siblings.

Lydia managed a weak smile and undeniably shaky smile after she had squeezed her eyes shut for a moment to try and get them to refocus, blinking them quickly a few times and her eyes crossing briefly before she was able to settle her sight. First she looked at the blurry, feathery mass that was so near her, blinking several times before shifting her gaze more easily to James. Again she winced as she raised her bandaged arm to reassuringly pet Sasha, though the gesture fell short as though all the energy was drained from her body and she ended up just laying her hand back down limply just in time for James to carefully brush it, which caused her to whimper slightly and flinch before she gently cleared her throat.

She nodded in both understanding and response to James first words, staring at him blankly for a moment before an abrupt laugh slipped from her but was killed as quickly as it had erupted as her hand quickly moved to place over the lower portion of her rib cage. Where did it not hurt? She couldn't even fully determine if her pain was completely physical or if it was psychological as well. She didn't really have an accurate answer, but any decision to answer was quickly extinguished when he asked if she remembered where she was. She cleared her throat roughly and winced, it felt like she had swallowed glass, her hand moving to grab her throat but falling short and just resting on her chest instead, "V-Valdanr..." her voice was raspy and she looked like she struggled to speak, "he... he flew down on me..."

Lydia's voice was barely a whisper and her eyes squinted shut as she spoke, as though she were visualizing the whole ordeal again, "he found me because I answered his roar with my own... and his shades..." her head slowly turned side to side, "the last thing I remember... before the darkness took me... I... I told him... I told him that... it didn't matter if he took me because my friends would still defeat him," it was all she could remember before she had awoken only moments earlier, between then and her current state there was only a vast nothingness that felt strangely familiar and eternal.

Lydia shuddered slightly, her gaze shifting to Renee as she checked her bandages, the same weak smile being offered to her friend, "you... you did it... right?"

Mica climbed on Renee's arm and sat around her shoulders, looking down at the tiny witch with a tilt of his head.

Orange eyes stared back at the green ones as a soft smile grew on her face. "...We did it, Lydia." With a small glance at her brother, Renee continued to talk quietly. "All of us. We did it together...Valdanr is gone..." She never thought she gets to finally say those words. It's almost over. It's almost done. They are so close to ending this horrible war and...

And she couldn't be more grateful to everyone here...

Sighing quietly as her shoulders slumped a bit, the Pendragon medic lightly held her hand from her chest and pecked it. Her own healing magic felt warm and comforting, hopefully lessening the pain on her achy bones and muscles until they reach the medical tent for better treatment. Then she grabbed her brother's hand to pass Lydia's and hold them in between hers, squeezing them together before letting go as she stood up.

"I'm going to check and see if our dragon friend can take Lydia in his hands instead of riding on his back...You better hold onto her, James, when we do fly." Renee said to her brother before leaving the two alone with Mica chattering and clicking at Sasha from her shoulders as a 'She'll feel better soon.'

" Healers Tent, Fallen Tower "​

James quickly removed his hand again, then listened to her words. "Okay," he nodded, rummaging his pack for something. He did not find what he was looking for. "I'll be back, going to get some pain killers." he squeezed Renee's shoulder before sprinting on to the waiting dragon's claw, then rushing over to the Healer's Tent shouting for pain killers and a spine board.

He came back moments later with a couple of healers, and had bent over Lydia with the medicine and some water just as Renee held their hands together. "Alright, Renee, thanks. Thanks, Mica!" he added gratefully to the ferret.

Sasha hooted at the ferret with respect before folding her wings and staying close on her usual perch under the side of Lydia's jaw.

James removed his hand immediately again. "Lydia, they've got Thomas, he's alright. I've got some pain killers do you want to drink them before we move you to where he is?" he said as the healers got ready to transfer her to the spine board, a simple rigid board with handles.

Lydia's gaze followed James for a moment as he left to retrieve pain killers, her eyes then turning downwards as a somewhat sullen expression crossed her features before she looked back to Renee when she started to respond to her question. She smiled faintly, though the emotion she was feeling was shining brightly in the soft expression. Her relief and joy at the top while there was still a slight underlying sadness that was fleeting. She nodded her head slightly but firmly and closed her eyes, "I told him... I'm so glad."

She breathed deeply, the breath catching as Renee lifted her hand and kissed, her healing power flowing through Lydia like a ripple of warmth that almost tickled against her strained flesh. She released her breath and opened her eyes, smiling at her friend, "thank you, Renee," her gaze then shifted to Mica, offering him a smile as well, "than you, Mica."

When James returned, her eyes shifted towards him, offering a meager squeeze to his hand as Renee joined them. The warm smile on her features brightened and she moved to sit up but failed, she appeared shaky, as though all the energy had been drained from her, "Thomas!?" It was the loudest she had gotten since she had awoken and even still, it wasn't yet her normal volume, "I..." she nodded her head and gingerly held her hand out for the medicine, though she seemed rather impatient to get there as soon as possible, "Master Howl? Mrs. Pendragon?"

" Healers Tent, Fallen Tower "​

"All fine and being un-petrified." smiled James. "Don't move. Here." he offered to tip the medicine in her mouth then held up a flask of water with a straw for her to drink. He and the healers carefully transferred her on the spine board after that and whisked them off to the Healer's Tent.

There was Thomas, Howl, Sophie, and Rhea all sleeping and no longer stony. Lykon was up and holding up Butters with one arm, while Sen and Seth were hugging their sister. Serena was . . . blushing? beside her mother, while Kenren was at the side with Chenglei looking at the exchange. Only Seifer wasn't inside the tent for some reason.

Lydia was gently placed on a cot beside her sleeping brother as the healers fussed all over her. James stood by in case he needed to go out and get something for them. He hadn't yet checked Rhea, and his parents, but when the healers said that they had this under control, he turned right before Sen gave him a one-armed hug. He hugged his brother back.

"This is weird . . ." said Sen.

"Yeah . . ." said James, gazing at his brother, glad to see him alright.

"Come here you two, we need a family hug!" said Seth, to which the two brothers came and hugged Seth and Renee too. "Mom and dad, we're all okay." said the twins to their sleeping parents.

Renee hugged her brothers back, slightly squeezed in between the twins and James. She smiled brightly as her wings fluttered and flapped from what the twins said. "Yea...we're all okay..." She sniffed a bit as her eyes got teary, blinking rapidly as she squeezed her brothers back.

Once she somehow got out of the family hug, the winged teen stood next to Rhea's side and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Wake up soon, baby sis..." There's...there's something she wants to ask Rhea about; a single question that has nagged her ever since she heard that small tidbit from Hisaya but she will wait until she recovers fully.

Renee closed her eyes and tries to get a feel of where Seifer might be at the moment as she grabs Rhea's small hand. Her thumb rubbing lightly on the top of her little sister's hand.

The voices in the room --- mostly Butters' cheerful baa-ing as he bleated at the booming Lykon and tossed his head up, as though telling him to toss the ram in the air --- seemed to wake Rhea, Thomas, and Mr. and Mrs. Pendragon up.

Howl groaned; Rhea's little hand clutched Renee's as her eyes slowly fluttered open; Sophie, after blinking blearily at the ceiling, sat bolt upright. She seemed to be disoriented and panicky, but a second after the twins had already pounced on her.

"MOM!" they cried, hugging her.

Meanwhile, Seifer seemed to be at the direction of the fallen tower. He was moving around for some reason.

Was Seifer looking for something in the fallen tower? Probably the emperor's heirlooms like the other soldiers, is what Renee thought absentmindedly.

She jumped a bit when she felt Rhea's hand clutching, opening her eyes to see her baby sister waking up. Then the twins jumped on Mom and Dad groaned. "Mom! Dad!" Renee cried, her wings flapping excitedly as she sat down on the bed and scooped up her little sister in her arms. "Rhea! You're awake! Oh cheese and crackers-!" She hugged her little sister before moving over to their mother's side with the twins, nuzzling her cheek on her mom's shoulder while reaching behind her mom's back and grabbed her father's hand.

"James! James! Mom, Dad, and Rhea's awake!" Renee repeated happily, her wings flapping wildly. "Are you okay? Do you need water? Food? A blanket?" She asked her very missed family members as she snuggled Rhea, nuzzling her cheek on top of her small head before pecking it lightly. "Oh my goodness..."

Lydia gave a small but relieved smile and nodded her head, it was probably easier for her not to move as James said, so she lay still and allowed him to help her when he offered. A warm smile fell over her features, her face turning a faint shade of crimson as she mused over the idea that the tables had turned and he was caring for her now. Her gaze somewhat timid and nearly ashamed to meet his eye as she drank from the flask after she had taken the medicine. She did her best to keep from overburdening James and the healers he had brought with him as they transferred her to the spine board and was grateful for the help.

Once they arrived in the healer's tent, she requested to be as close as possible to Thomas, she wanted to be able to hold his hand. She didn't care how weird he'd think that would be. She was just so grateful he was okay and it had been a year since she had last seen him. She awkwardly told the healers not to fuss so much over her, she was sure that there were others that needed their help more than she did since she was down for the count the moment they had encountered Valdanr and was just grateful that she was even there to see the aftermath. She didn't really see the sense in them staying near her feeling that they had done all they could do for her at the moment and her pain had begun to subside more and more so now it was just about recovering her strength.

Her gaze followed James has he moved to check on his parents, smiling warmly as Sen came up and hugged his brother. She was glad to see him, though she wasn't very surprised. She knew they would all be okay. Her gaze then turned back to Thomas and she was glad that they would both be able to see their family again. She gave his hand a squeeze and it was at that moment that his body seemed to awaken all at once, his limbs flailing like he was fighting something which caused Lydia's hand to jerk away swiftly, her eyes widening.

"You won't get away with this! My sister is Lady Deathbane!" His eyes were squinted shut but when he realized his fists weren't making contact with anything, they opened and looked around in confusion.

Lydia laughed wryly and shook her head, speaking in a voice that was less strained, "Thomas! Thomas it's all right! You're safe! My friends saved you," she quickly reached for his hand again so that he would know she was there, beckoning one of the healers to help her turn so that she could clasp his hand with both of hers.

James smile had turned kind when Lydia had that timid and slightly ashamed look. He didn't say anything as they carried her, but he crossed an arm to be able to hold one of hers and squeezed it reassuringly. After the family hug, James, who was smiling from all the warmth, looked for a moment between his family and Lydia, then went over to sit on the ground beside her.

"Hey." he kissed the top of her forehead, holding her other hand. "Do you need an ear?"

It was at that moment that Renee exclaimed with joy and Thomas started flailing; James' arms shot out quickly over Lydia to block in case he accidentally swung at his sister.

"Sen, Seth, Renee, Rhea, oh my children!" sobbed Sophie, hugging them.

"I'll be right back." said James to Lydia. He patted Thomas on the shoulder as he left, then went and hugged his mother too.

Howl was awake and squeezed Renee's hand, turning to see his family. "Am I dreaming?" he said, looking at them as though in a daze.

"No, dad, you're not." said James, slowly pulling his father's cot so that the family was all together. They were all hugging and talking and asking what had happened, and Rhea shrieked in joy the moment Renee scooped her up and hugged her tight until she was choking. Their little sister cried, and cried in her relief, bawling that everyone was here, everyone didn't die. It was too much that the twins started crying in their joy too, and James' voice went tight with emotion as he told them that he really missed them and that next time they go to a Spring Festival, they are definitely going to stick together.

Sophie, after raining kisses on her children said that she needed water. Howl too needed food, while Rhea was hungry. The family settled down and the kids answered all their questions.

Howl spotted Lydia and was amazed to see her. He had this expression as though he was looking at someone who grew up a lot in a very short amount of time. "Lydia, you're here too?"

Johnny came over and was very happy to see the family alright, Sophie surprised to see him not afraid to be near Renee; Seth pulled Serena in and introduced her as his girlfriend, sort of, they're still working it out, but that they are dating and he likes her; while Sen looked at Minnie and just smiled shyly, and pulled her to be part of this family gathering too; Butters bleated at Lykon and Echo, then gave his loudest bleat to the Pendragon parents cheerfully.

Kenren smiled as he watched everyone and leaned towards Chenglei, whispering. "I think that egg can wait a little while."

The girls flinched when Thomas started to scream. Though none of them blamed him for his reaction.

Renee ran out of the tent, yelling that she'll grab something for them to eat and drink while her brothers told them everything. When she came back, the tray she's carrying is filled with food enough for everyone in the tent to eat, not just her family. For Thomas, Lykon, Johnny's sisters, and Mrs. Lock as Renee passed the food and water around. Then she helped explained to her parents.

Echo walked with Johnny, greeting the Pendragon parents as she wrapped her hand with Johnny's as she smiled. Serena 'meep'-ed when Seth pulled her in, waving at Howl and Sophie with a hesitant and nervous smile. Her face is still red as she told them that yes, they're dating and she likes Seth too. "It's wonderful to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Pendragon." She said as she unconsciously clutched her violin close to her chest.

When Sen pulled Minnie in the family gathering, she blinked and smiled back just as shyly. Then she leaned, head on his arm as she quietly greeted to the twins' parents as well, introducing herself to them.

Chenglei chuckled quietly as he whispered back. "Yes...I do believe it can wait a little while longer..."

"Oh! Mom! Dad! You have to meet the ones who made this all possible for us!" Renee chirped in as she bounced over to the prince and his bodyguard, wrapped her arms around their arms and pulled them closer to the family. The taller of the two stumbled a bit from his surprise. "This is Chenglei Zhou," She motioned her head towards the blonde soldier. "and this is Kenren Taisho. Without them...I don't think we could have make it this far." The Pendragon medic squeezed their arms a bit, looking really grateful at the two friends she's introducing to her parents.

Chenglei, after he somehow got his arm to be free from Renee's clutches, bowed his head in greeting before smiling charmingly at the parent pair. Pink water lotuses bloomed around them as glitter sparkled from...somewhere. "It's a pleasure to meet the parents of very exceptional children. Ya raised them very well, Mr. and Mrs. Pendragon." He purred smoothly. "Same to Mrs. Lock and Mr. Muses. Very special children, indeed."

In the meanwhile Renee sat back down on the bed and held Rhea close as she ate her meal, pondering about something and sighed at her decision. "Rhea?" She muttered quietly. "...Are...Are you holding a Manna tree seed by any chance?" Her orange eyes looked at her family for a moment before closing her eyes. "...You can tell big sis the truth...I won't be mad at you. Promise." She wanted to ask Rhea this question as this has been nagging her mind ever since Hisaya mentioned about a little girl having the possibility of the Orient's Manna tree seedling.

Rhea paused, then slowly turned, looking at her sister. Renee could tell it wasn't her sister looking at her, in those eyes was a very old soul, full of years that had seen so many things. Rhea was the manna tree, and right now it looked like it didn't know how to tell her. She continued munching on her meal, with her thinking face. It was definitely her thinking face, their mom and James had the same pondering look.

"Kinda . . ." she finally whispered, then glanced at Kenren who spoke after Chenglei. "Do I have to go back in the ground in Shinobe?" Shinobe was the capital city of the Orients and where the dead stump of the manna tree was.

Johnny squeezed Echo's hand, then hugged her, grinning at Mr. and Mrs. Pendragon and telling them that not only is his fear of women loads better, Echo was also his girlfriend, and he nuzzled her cheek. Howl and Sophie were very surprised to learn that all their kids had found love in this adventure, and were very gracious to them all as they ate hungrily.

The two parents bowed at Chenglei and Kenren, very grateful for taking care of them all this time and teaching Seth how to be a ninja, which he was enthusiastically bragging about to his parents; they were surprised to be praised highly by the right-hand of a prince, that they couldn't help but wonder what had everyone had gone through, and asked them all to tell them about their adventures.

Renee stared back at the old soul of her little sister, raising an eyebrow when she continued to munch on the food. However she smiled when she saw her thinking face; just like James and their mother's face. Then she blinked at the question before squeezing her sister's waist a bit. She followed her eyesight towards Kenren and brought her sister up to sit on her lap, nuzzling into her hair.

"...It's up to you if you want to or not..." As much as the world needs help with the manna flow, Rhea is still a person. Now that she thought about it...it's rather strange that the evil egg wanted to suck the magic out of the little girl.

Renee squeezed Rhea comfortingly again. Echo hid her red face on Johnny's shoulder while Minnie just stared at the blonde violinist and her gawking mother. Lykon blinked before guffawing and smacked Johnny's shoulders in good graces. "GOOD SHOW, MY BOY! I'M SO PROUD OF THE BOTH OF YOU!"

"...Jams..." Minnie chimed in, her teal blue eyes turned to look at him. "...I sniped the sniper who sniped you...and got Sen's choker back..." Might as well tell the Pendragon oldest brother. Then she has a smug little grin on her round face as she remembers the memory.

Mica, who was snuggling Sophie, skulked closer to Howl, sniffing him. Then he sneezed and chattered. His sensitive nose got agitated from the strong scent of potions coming from the Pendragon father. The little ferret moved back from his previous spot and continued to snuggle Sophie's side. Of course...he wanted to be nice and gave Howl a little lick before moving away.

There was an abundance of emotions under the calm surface of Lydia's demeanor. At moments she seemed tense and at others melancholy, but most evidently, she just seemed completely grateful for James' presence. While it took a moment for the pain killers to take hold, once they did Lydia was able to move her hand to gently hold Sasha and she turned her other hand where James held it so that she could lightly return his gesture.

When Valdanr had descended upon her, she had had little time to think of anything. The only thought that had crossed her mind was that the ones she had fought along side this past year would defeat him even without her and she had voiced as much. The idea that she had almost passed from the world well before what should have been her time compounded by the realization that a future with James was very nearly taken from her had set upon her a sinking feeling that she put on a brave face to mask. She hadn't been any use in such a decisive battle as the one with Valdanr and she hadn't even rued the moment he had landed in front of her after the challenging roar she had issued to him in response.

While she didn't released Thomas' hand when James came to sit with her, she closed her eyes and smiled happily when he kissed her head, "hi," her smile faded as he asked if she needed an ear, a look of dread crossing her features before her lips parted as she prepared to speak, only to be interrupted by the outcry of her brother. Her hands had curled around James' arm as he moved to protect her from any wayward strikes Thomas might have issued, the surprise evident on her features. She didn't even have a moment to really acknowledge the Pendragons' awakening, her focus on calming her brother, but she did nod as quickly as she was able as James excused himself to go and greet his previously thought to be lost family.

At the sound of her voice as she tried to calm him, Thomas looked at her almost as though he must be dreaming before his gaze drifted around the room for a moment, the confusion seeming to dissipate as he hurriedly sat up once he had refocused on her, "Lydia?" He wasn't so loud as he had been and his expression soon turned to one of relief and even joy as he scooped his sister up into his arms so that she was sitting on the cot as he knelt beside it, "Lydia!"

Lydia could only gasp and whimper slightly, her brow furrowed. Sasha had wisely hopped from her shoulder and down to the cot, her little head tilting slightly as she observed the interaction. Lydia raised her arms up carefully to lightly pat her brother's back as the initial jolt of being moved so briskly subsided, though Thomas seemed to notice and leaned back from her, looking with concern before realizing that he too felt a little drained and carefully lowered her back to her cot before he crawled back onto his, putting a hand on his head, "oh... sorry, Lydia... what happened to you...?"

Lydia just shook her head as she re-positoned herself on the cot, Sasha shifting before hopping back up to perch at her shoulder, Thomas' gaze shifting to the owl somewhat curiously once he had moved his hand from his head, "it's alright... well... you know how I can't stand a bully?"

Thomas slowly smiled and started to chuckle, shaking his head, "is that what this is all about?"

Lydia laughed faintly and shook her head, "no... but that's part of it... but what's that all about?" She gestured at the attempt at a mustache that was growing on Thomas' upper lip.

Her brother raised his fingertips to his lip and sat up in a more dignified manner, "oh... I'm growing a mustache."

A soft giggle escaped Lydia then, "you look like... a young version of Father."

"That's the same reaction Frederick had," Thomas shrugged his shoulders and laughed along with Lydia for a moment until Howl called her attention.

She quickly looked towards him and struggled to sit up again, attempting to get up from her cot entirely, "Master Howl!" She pressed her feet to the floor, seeming to hesitate for a moment, but built up the courage to finish the gesture and somewhat shakily began to make her way towards the Pendragons, "Y-yes... I am here."

" Lydia, wait, just stay on the bed." said James holding up a hand, then hurriedly went over to her. "We'll carry you --- hey, Thomas." he added, nodding at her brother. He looked for a healer who wasn't busy, but Kenren was already striding forward.

"I'll help." said the prince, and held one end of Lydia's cot. Together they transferred her beside Howl and Sophie, who were both as relieved to see her alright as the rest of their children. Sophie motherly fussed about her injuries, just speechless as Serena told them their adventures. The two parents were relieved nobody died.

Johnny winced when Lykon smacked his shoulder, grimacing as he squeezed Echo's hand. "Y-you're welcome father." he gave Echo a worried look, "Is he always like this?" he whispered, wondering if the manly satyr may accidentally worsen his injuries. Now he knew how Echo can take a hit.

James, surprised, nodded at Minnie in respect. " Thanks . . . " he looked at Sen and Minnie's head leaning on Sen. They're together?! When did that happen?

As Howl talked to Renee and Lydia about how their magic has grown, petting Mica interestedly, Rhea turned and hugged Renee, curling into her to sleep. 'MY FIRST NAME IS MITHRELLAS , said her voice in her head, 'BUT I LIKE RHEA MORE, SINCE EVERYONE CALLS ME BY THAT NAME WITH LOVE. I WANT TO VISIT LUTHIEN AND ETHELLION, THEN I WILL GO BACK TO SHINOBE. WHEN I GROW UP, WILL THEY CUT ME DOWN AGAIN?'

Echo nodded sadly, her ears wilted. Did Johnny believe she was exaggerating when she talked about her training with her father? She wished she was. "Yes...he's always like this..."

As Mica chattered and lightly nipped Howl's fingers affectionately, Renee listened to her little sister and smiled warmly at her father. "...Yea...our magic really did grow, huh? I can finally transform into an owl griffin too..." She grabbed a blanket to wrap Rhea in as she whispered back in her ear.

"I'll make sure that Ken-chan will look after you from then onward. No one should be cutting you down like that...ever." The older sister hummed, pondering about something. "...I'll definitely visit you as much as I can..." Oh yea, she's definitely going to ask Kenren if she can work for him as his personal medic witch once James and Lydia have the New Order up and running on their own; just to visit her little sister. The winged teen squeezed Rhea in her arms once she got comfortable.

"Why did they cut you down?" She whispered, her wings slightly puffed up as she can hear Mica chattering. In the corner of her eyes, she can see her little ferret companion bouncing around Howl's hand as if to confuse him...or play around in a game of 'try to catch me.'

"..." Renee's wings puffed up, flapping angrily as she stared blankly into space. Ideas raced through her mind as her overprotective feelings came back with a vengeance. "...Perhaps we should replant you where we know it's safe for you...If you like, Rhea, we can replant you somewhere like in my garden. I'm planning to live on the other side of the Storm wall. I can replant you there in the garden Seifer and I are planning to make together with our home."

Then she smiled and Rhea can tell that Renee is worried for her well being. "Of course, it's up to you if you want to be replanted somewhere else...If not, I'll convince Kenren to make your spot a very sacred place where people can visit but cannot mess with you..." She kissed her forehead again comfortingly as she tries to calm her wings. It would be really bad if anybody picked up what she was really feeling at the moment.
