" Grim Grotto "​

"Can't ya fill the balloon any faster?" yelled a panicked pirate, swinging his cutlass at the tentacles.

"No, this is fast as it can go without setting the balloon on fire!" said Sen. Suddenly a tentacle whipped wildly and snapped one of the ropes tying the dingy to the balloon. "Whoa!"

The dingy fell, slanting, coins and chests cascading down into the rear or tumbling down on to the cracking deck of the wrecked ship as it swayed and started to tilt from the kraken's crushing tentacles. It was now hanging precariously on one end; Sen had grabbed the hot stove with both hands and he cried out in pain from the heat. "Minnie, help!" he had hooked his feet on to the seat and that was all that was keeping him hanging on to the boat. He pulled the stove, grunting, for someone to take it from his hands and continue filling the balloon. Just a little more and it was going to break through the surface of the roof-water and buoyancy will automatically have it rising up.

"Someone push the chest off! We're too heavy!" said Sen.

"Then we have all come here fer nothin'!" said a pirate who ignored the stove and climbed down to secure the treasure, pull on the cut rope and try to tie it back on to the loose end of the balloon.

Minnie gasped when the dingy slanted, holding on to the railings as it tilted from the weight of the treasure chest. Her hair shadowed over her eyes as she climbed back up the dingy.

"Polaris." Minnie muttered as she got close enough to the stove. Sen would feel the heated stove being lifted up and if he looked, would see a semi-transparent smooth tentacle that's wrapped itself around the metal object; bringing it back to where it would continue to blow hot air. Then he would feel someone grabbing onto his shirt and pulling him back up. The little gunner had Sen pulled up and let him sit in the chair before she dropped down...

...and kicked the selfish pirate off the dingy.

"You want to have gold that badly? Then stay here with the Kraken. I'm done with your stupidity!" Minnie said quietly as the dingy lifted up and up to the watery surface above. She held onto the railings again, her feet against it as she used her spell to balance the boat with the balloon that has a metal piece on the corner of the tarp.

The last look that pirate will ever see is her glare that ominously looked down on him as the dingy was sucked up into the water, saying 'You paid your greed with your life.'

" Grim Grotto "​

"Aaarrgh!" yelled the greedy pirate in shock, and in that split second he realized what had happened, he whipped out his flintlock pistol and fired shots at Minnie before they lost sight of him.

Water weighed heavily around them as the balloon rose to the surface of the ocean.

Out shot the balloon and out slid the boat, only Minnie, Sen, and two other pirates the survivors of their journey. All around them floated gold trinkets and that one treasure chest. The twin asked Minnie's help to righted their capsized dingy, while the others retrieved the treasures and pushed them on to the boat.

It seemed the storm from yesterday had passed. The sun shone brightly. The group had a long day of paddling with just their feet ahead of them. Sen just looked at Minnie. He didn't say anything, also because the pirates with them were the mates of that one she kicked, and just patted her shoulder.

Minnie helped right their capsizing dingy, staying quiet as she didn't want to talk about it.

She looked pale from the blood flowing out from her shoulder where the new bullet wound is and a bit from her sides but Minnie continued to help as much as she could. She even asked if she could help with the swimming but then when she noticed her bloody injuries, opt that she should stay on the ship. Didn't want to attract sharks or any other sea creature for smelling her blood.

When Sen patted her shoulder, she flinched in pain before looking at him with numb-looking eyes and then looked away, sighing. Her shoulders slumped as she held her head down a bit, shadowing her face.

When the pirates and Sen got tired of swimming, Minnie would use the confetti shots to propel the dingy against the water, giving them a break as she continued to help. She asked if they even knew where they were going first and then shot her confetti bullets to move, hoping this would help and save the others' energy to paddle later on if they need it.

" Grim Grotto "​

"Sorry!" Sen immediately withdrew his hand when Minnie winced in pain."Rest, injured person." he said firmly to her when she tried to help some more. He cut up canvas from their now deflated balloon to bandage her wounds again. Bullet shots from the greedy pirate had punctured holes in it. "Good job." he whispered to her, before he slid off the boat to help with paddling.

The pirates knew where they were going through the sun and the stars. The journey took them two days and two nights of no food and water. Those nights they huddled in the cramped boat, Sen wrapped them up in canvas to keep warm and gingerly patted her back in comfort and cracked some jokes to cheer her up. Metal was cold at night, so he asked if he could remove her arm so that it wouldn't draw away heat from her. On mornings, the canvas provided shade as they paddled on in turns. The twin was worried about Minnie's wounds, they had become infected, but to his relief flies came and maggots started to appear.

"Don't pick the maggots off, Minnie." he reassured her, as he covered her maggoty wounds with a new set of make-shift bandages. "They'll only eat the dead skin, not the healthy ones. They'll keep your wound clean."

On the third day, they spotted the airship they had captured from the enemy in the horizon. To which they were relieved helped had finally arrived. Sen had asked Minnie to reserve a shot as a signal for later and now asked her to shoot it into the air.

Minnie stuttered when Sen told her to rest and looked on with a guilty look on her face. Round cheeks bloomed pink when he bandaged her again, nodding her head in thanks.

At cold nights when they had to huddle, the little gunner hesitantly let Sen take her arm off so she can sleep warmly; snuggling up to the twin as she didn't trust the two pirates. She did giggle a bit from Sen's jokes and felt a little better from his comforting pats on the back. Minnie stared with wide eyes at her maggoty injuries, her mind is a bit hazy from a slight fever as Sen wrapped her injuries again. "Thank you Sen." She slurred as she nuzzled his shoulder before lying down and rested.

As he asked, Minnie saved a bullet for a signal and shot it up in the air on the third day; light bursting brightly and surely would catch the other pirates' attention. Once they were back on the hide away cove, the little gunner leaned on Sen heavily, huffing and panting.

"Almost there, almost there, Minnie, you're doing a good job." said Sen encouragingly helping her up to her room. Seth was there too on her other side and together the twins got her on the bed.

Seth had been worried sick and hugged them both when he saw them. Sen just grinned and nodded at the treasure, to which his brother smacked him on the head, admonishing him about almost dying, bringing Minnie who was heavily injured of all people with him, and also leaving him behind and so missed out on the looting and the kraken.

Sen said he had no idea there was a kraken there and that they'd get suck into a whirlpool, but he stayed by Minnie's side and didn't leave. He looked guilty every now and then as he looked at her healing wounds and muttered an apology to Minnie, promising that he won't take her on a crazy adventure next time if she's injured and he didn't know what they were getting into.

He had a lot of explaining to Ricket and Minuette. He, Minnie, and the surviving pirates split the treasure evenly and now Sen and Minnie had an impressive pile of gold in a sack near their other belongings. The crazy pirates shared the tale over at the tavern in the lower floor of Captain Shank's hideout and now there was excited mutterings in Tortuga, talking about going back to destroy that kraken and then loot the cave. And actually, a second expedition composing four pirate ships sailed off the next morning to do just that.

Minnie hummed, blearily looked up when Seth came and hugged them both. She hugged back weakly and thanked the both of them for helping her to bed where she took off her wet clothes and put on dry shorts before she nuzzled into the fluffy pillow. Coins and gems dropped from her corset to the floor and the tiara with bangles she gave to Minuette as thanks for the yummy felafals.

Her hazy eyes looked at Sen's guilty face and poked his cheek lightly. Minnie smiled at him. "Forgiven. Just...help me with the bandages and I'll be fine..." She slurred as she went under the covers and hummed happily from the comfy pillow. No more pain. Finally. There were random moments that Minnie would giggle her tweeting laugh for no reason before looking over at Sen and smiling. Then she snuggled into the pillow again...but then she sat up straight with a worried glint in her eyes.

"Sen, your hands...burns. Gotta take care of those too." Minnie started to get out of bed, ready to look for something to help the burns heal.

"I'll do it." said Sen immediately, pushing her back down. "You just rest, Minnie. Just rest." he added sternly, poking her cheek. He had forgotten about his burns. The wounds had become infected too and as he placed the satchel of medicine on the bedside table with his elbows, he looked for some salves.

"Actually, I think I'll ask Seth or Minuette to help me." said Sen, not sure which was which. They had restocked on supplies in Tortuga and he wasn't sure which one to use. "Which one is for the burns again?"

Minnie flopped back down, her comfy bed letting out a puff from her weight. After a few minutes of just staring at the ceiling like this, the little gunner sat up again and looked at the side where Sen is looking for the burn salve. She reached out, grabbing the orange colored paste in a jar before opening it.

"Let me see your hands..." Minnie muttered quietly. "I'll rest after I put the bandages on...okay?"

"Alright." said Sen eventually. "But that's all and then you have to rest like a good patient." he said conditionally. He pulled up a stool close to the bed, then presented his hands to her. While Minnie changed, Sen had bathed and changed in his and Seth's room before coming over here.

There were no bandages on his hands, just ugly scabs.

"Minnie, are you alright from . . . you know. Kicking that pirate of?"

Minnie smiled a bit as she gently put on the orange salve on his hands, pondering on his question.

"...I'm...I'm okay. Not alright, but...it was necessary to stay alive." The sick gunner said quietly as she grabbed the roll of bandages to wrap his wounds. "Are...are you okay? With me kicking him off?" She asked.

"Did you kick him off for the treasure?" said Sen as he watched Minnie bandage his hands.

"I kicked him because all he cared was the treasure." Minnie said, wrapping one of his hands. "He endangered not just my life but yours as well. Didn't even help you with the stove..."

"Yeah, he didn't, can you believe him? Well, he was a pirate. I'm okay with you kicking him off, Minnie." he nodded, stretching his fingers to help with the bandaging. Sen looked relieved and was silent for a while as he played with the orange paste. "I guess we wouldn't be able to see aye to aye with him, anyway. So there would be no use kicking the treasure off and then risking a bloody arrrrgument."

He presented his other hand to her when the first was finished. "Why are you all happy looking and laughing like a bird? Not that it's a bad thing, it's just sudden. I thought I was too drunk last night, but I wasn't. Did something good happen that night we were celebrating and did something good happen after we got back?"

Minnie laughed her birdie laugh at his puns, shaking her head as she finished bandaging one hand. Then she grabbed another roll so she can bandage the other. Her teal blue eyes looked up at him before flicking down to his hand again, smiling warm.

"...I'm just remembering all the crazy things we did before and thought 'This is really not the first time we went off in an adventure and I hope it's not the last.' " Minnie laughed quietly. "About that night...I just talked with Ricket and Minuette...about opening up more." She said, cupping under his hand with her left while her mechanical right was wrapping his hand. Then she paused and looked at him.

"...Is it bad?...Should I stop showing my emotions like before?" Minnie asked. Her smile slowly disappeared.

"No, it's good!" Sen shook his head, surprised that she asked. "It's nice to see you happy and not in a I-will-murder-you-with-an-ice-pick way, Minnie." he laughed. "Here, smile again." he grinned.

Minnie stared at him for a moment, pondering as the corner of her lips quirked up into a smile. There was a flush across her cheeks but that could be from the fever. She laughed a bit. "Okay. Okay..." She's never going to understand where that ice pick comes from but she wouldn't ask.

She tightened the bandages a bit before tying it. "Is it too tight?" The little gunner asked in a quiet concern.

"A little, yeah." said Sen, stretching his fingers again. "There, that's better --- just a little, yes, that's perfect. I guess this means no tinkering for me for a while." he sighed. "What am I going to do with my life while my hands are healing?"

"...Just rest. Get better." Minnie started, face now blank. "Think of other ways to defend yourself as they heal." Her left hand went to her right shoulder and shuddered as the cold metal reminded her of the past.

"At least, you get to keep your hands...Perhaps you should wear gloves that are fire proof so you can latch on to hot items." She suggested.

For a brief moment Sen looked at Minnie with pity, then it was quickly replaced by a look of meekness. "Yes, I should do that." he nodded. "Fireproof mittens, I actually had a pair in the castle, but I forgot to bring them." he looked at his bandaged hands. "Thank you, Minnie. Mind if I nap here? I'd stay in my room, but Seth just bought a pair of lamas for some reason and they're smelly and they're in our room."

Minnie poked his cheek as soon she saw those expressions, her eyes narrowed. "Stop that." She deadpanned before looking over at their treasure pile. Maybe she can find ones that are heat proof? Hopefully when they reach Dalaran, she'll look for them.

Then she looked over at Sen as she listened and raised an eyebrow. "...Llamas? Seth brought in ....llamas?" That's weird. Minnie shook her head and gently cupped his bandaged hands, looking at them with care. "You'll be fine. We're able to go through so much. Having burns is just another thing to go through as well. You're creative and clever; I'm sure you will be fine no matter what happens."

Then she looked up at him with a warm smile. "Yes, you can nap here. Come on, get in bed." Minnie pulled the sheets down, inviting him over so he could get comfortable. After snuggling and staying warm so many times before the pirate adventure, Minnie figured he wouldn't care if it's a bed. It's just another place to sleep on really and it's not the first time they had to share a small space.

Sen became red and awkward. "N-not on the same bed!" he said, waving his bandaged hands. "I mean, on the floor." he nodded at the old wooden floorboards. He looked around uncomfortably, his past inkling of why Minnie was blushing these previous days now solidified more clearly. "Like with a mattress or something."

He scratched his nose, still red. "Ya know, I think I'll just nap in my room. I'll ask Minuette if she could watch over you too, Minnie." he looked up at her awkwardly.

Minnie raised an eyebrow when he became red, her smile grew. "You're okay with sleeping in a cramped dingy but in a comfy bed, you're not? You're so funny. Heheh!" She giggled, shaking her head in disbelief. The little gunner didn't understand why that makes a difference. It's just a bed and it's better to be comfortable. Besides she didn't know if Ricket will be okay with sharing his bed with Sen and she couldn't ask him since he wasn't here at the moment.

She sighed and rolled her eyes. "You just said that it smells in there. Here. I'll help you find a mattress so you can sleep on that..." Minnie stood up from the bed, poking his cheek again. "Why are you so awkward?"

"'Cause, you know, only siblings or married people sleep on the same bed. Rest, patient!" he added sternly, pushing Minnie back down and poking her cheek again. "Stop taking care of me for now and worry about yourself first. I'll get the mattress from my room." he added without thinking.

He was half-way through the door when he realized that, then about faced. "I'll just sleep with the llamas, yes, Seth bought llamas, a new business venture, I think, they have an odd wool pattern. Anyway, thanks for the bandaging, Minnie, and rest." he gave her a firm knowing look.
