Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle (Finished! ---Whoo! (*^▽^)/)

9343cd3ea669f36c46b2ba8ff56c6af2.jpg

Unknown Loc- The Doc's Discovery.
Doctor Hyperion- Unit UMI.
Leaves crunched in a constant rhythum under his boot, disrupting the serine silence of the forest path. A combination of stone and dirt lay before him like a road that led him forward. He had no idea where he was-or where he was heading. The grim feeling of losing direction flew through the path- But the bot seemed almost unaffected.

The Doc wore a long, sinister overcoat that concealed most of his body, while wearing a comedically tall top-hat that made him share an appearance with a wacky cartoon character. His slim and scrawny metal body coupled with the green glow tinting the beige jacket gave him the look of something...more than human.

Dr.Hyper simply could not wait to discover such promising things; a baby dragon- something shapable yet not buildable. Welding such things could lead him to new frontiers of science!

The flame in Dr.Hyper's chest quickly died once he had realized the hurdles he would have to jump. There is a major flaw: He had no clue where it was.

The doctor quickly felt a pang of regret fill his chest. The reward of a new test-subject seemed high, yet the price seemed even higher.

But, his determination held him from the grasp of uncertainty. Afterall, It's in his programming...

" Undercover Carnival "

"'Ow did 'oo know, Johnny wants to be my student?" said Madam goodhart, now looking at Minnie with less suspicion.

"Because we know him!" said Sen and Seth together, impatiently. "Not personally, but he's been going on and on in the dining table with our brother James about how he wanted to join your carnival ever since he was a kid and have his own theatre."

"He practices card tricks a lot, and likes making it appear and disappear in random places. He doesn't eat sheep or lamb, but likes milk. He's really dating a girl! You know Echo Muses in the papers? Her! We're telling the truth we swear so don't poke our eye out!"

"But Johnny is deathly afraid of girls . . ." she repeated now doubting her words.

After Ricket spoke, one of the vampires said: "Madam, the feline has a point. Perhaps that's why there were no names on the wanted posters, it's quit odd, come to think of it, no name on the poster. It's a first."

"Johnny changed. We don't know how they met, but they met in the academy. He likes her because she's fluffy and stuff!"

Madam Goodhart and the vampires looked at each other and then laughed. "Oh, zat would make sense! Take 'ze needle out. Let's properly hear what they have to say."

* * * *

The next day, the travelling fair made a grand show parading through the streets on their way to the fortress. Little did anyone know that there were two extra mermaids in the group.

"Just smile and wave, Sen, smile and wave." said his brother who was wearing a fish tail costume, a fake nose, a wig, and was grinning enthusiastically at the crowd.

"Does this dress make me look fat?" said his twin looking down at the flowing robe he was wearing.

Madam Goodhart and the vampires, who seem to be her closest companions, had agreed to help the group. Once the prospect of getting out of this country was mentioned, they immediately were interested and decided to work together. Today's mission was a sneak one. While the fair distracted the people at the fort, the four were to find the governor and somehow make contact with him.

But first they had to do an act though, and when it was over and it was time to switch as the Vassal of the black dragon watched, the four got out of their costumes and began the search. The governor and his family weren't around. It seemed that the servants hadn't seen them for days. It wasn't hard to find someone on their side who supported the governor and his family, and so they were able to find out that there was a dungeon in the lower levels of the fort, and that it was here that the rebels that had once tried to overthrow the vassal days ago were being held.

As the good doctor travelled along a lonely road, a curious sight met him in the form of a stumbling man, ragged and worn, and looking about the sky in trepidation as he tripped out from some clingy bushes. He looked like he hadn't had much sleep, and what's more his eyes were not chinky. He was not of the people who lived alongside the long dragons.

What kind of man was he?

All of the chinky-eyed people were half-arcane machine, or almost completely machines. They cannot do magic without the manna stones fueling their constructs, but this man --- and what kind of spell was that? --- was making crows appear out of thin air and speaking to them, sending them out in all directions.

He hadn't seem to notice the good doctor yet, being very distracted as he looked up at the sky again as though something with wings was hunting him.

-Somewhere-

The Doctor visibly recoiled at the sight of the man, stopping in his tracks. He then watched the strange human who seemed overwhelmed with panic that he didnt even notice him. The Doc recollected himself before he decided to step towards the man.
"What a peculiar sight-" He quietly told himself as he approached.
"Excuse me- Sir?" He called out to the human- who seemed to create crows for...some reason....

For every second he seemed in the vicinity of this man- things just got weirder and weirder around him. He had the look of someone who was being hunted. But, the doctor could care less for the man's life. He must simply act as though he did incase he were to survive in hjs current state. Although a bit of Hyperion wanted to subject this man to the chemical via injection and toss him from an edge for interruping his pleasant walk- he needed directions.

"Sir, If it isnt to much to ask...I appear to be a bit lost. I am looking for a baby dragon- do you know of it's whereabouts?"

In an oyster shell, wearing a bunch of pearls wrapped around her shoulders waist and hips with a mermaid's tail laying in front and waving a bit, Minnie is juggling large opalescent balls. She has a starfish attached to her temple to pin the long brown wavy wig, her red eye looked over to Sen when he asked the question.

"...Yes..." She joked, her lips painted in bright red stretched in a small smile.

Then she looked back at the crowd, making juggling tricks and having the balls disappear in sight; the crowd 'Ohh~'-ed. Realistically, she's using her magnetic spell to have the balls be pulled down and hidden.

After finding some sympathizers to the governor and hearing about a dungeon in his place, Minnie told everyone that they should be careful, maybe have a look-out while the rest tries to sneak in and free the governor and his family. Then they can escape with Madame Goodhart and her fair people. Hopefully they'll avoid fighting the Vassal of the Black Dragon.

It was easy enough for Ricket to gain a better disguise once the carnival folk decided to help the group, while he didn't much appreciate the face paints in his fur and didn't even want to think about the effort it would take to remove it, and the jesters cap was uncomfortable on his ears, he at least was certain that this disguise wasn't so likely to be seen through as his last because he fit in with the other marionettes relatively well.

Another thing that displeased the feline was the fact that his hands and feet were tied by strings which were being manipulated by the puppeteers behind the scene setting in the cart where the little puppet stage was set and putting on a show as the carnival parade proceeded. While he felt like it was demeaning, he knew it was for the better and so he remained limp, allowing himself to be manipulated as was necessary for the performance, though really he thought it would have just been easier for him to hide in one of the prop trunks instead. Oh well, humiliation for the greater good.

Ricket volunteered to be lookout if they needed him to be, he was small and could hide easily, but if they needed his natural smallness for something else, he could do that too.

Each stairway, hall, and dungeon room had iron bar doors that required a key. The guards had rings of keys, and it was tricky to get one, but those with a knack for stealing were able to take a ring each. It was dark here, with only torches lighting the surroundings. Minnie, Sen, and Seth managed to get guard disguises, but there wasn't one small enough for Ricket, so he had to stay close to Minnie's shadow or do something else to keep up with them.

But their set off keys were only up to the levels where common criminals, and unimportant allied soldiers were kept. The very valuable political prisoners from the Jahara empire were kept even deeper underground, in highly secured isolation cells.

They needed to get the isolation cell keys, which required them to sneak into the guard's rooms. All was well when Seth was able to fish it out of the pocket of the warden, a Jahara mercenary who allied with the vassal, as he talked to him about whether zeppelins were a good investment, but as they made their way down to the isolation cells, Minnie, Ricket and Sen's disguises were seen through!

The ragged man stared at the good doctor as though he's never seen anything like him before. "You can speak . . . You can speak my language . . . what are you? Did someone make you? --- d-dragon? There are many dragons all over, but anyway that's not important right now. I need a place to hide, a black dragon is hunting me, it wants to kill me. You have to help me, please!"

He clutched desperately at Dr. Hyper's clothes.

It was all fine at first, with Seth sneaking in and grabbing the keys to the dungeons below. Even better when Sen distracting every guard while Seth slipped away...

However, just when she was about to follow Ricket and Sen out of the prison, someone grabbed onto her wrist. She looked back to see it's one of the guards, so she quickly took off Luthien and tossed her to-

"Ricket! CATCH!" For once, Minnie screamed urgently as she watched the root ring in the air and hoping her feline friend has caught her. Then the guard grabbed her other wrist when she tried to grab for her gun; struggling to break free from his grip.

"Let go of me, you-!" If anyone of them came back, she glared at them, her face saying 'Don't you dare-!' They better escape now.

Then she was pulled in the prison building, struggling all the while and biting anyone who tries to cover her mouth...and felt someone hit the back of her head, knocking her out as the last scene she sees is her friends running away...

Sticking closely by Minnie since he couldn't get a disguise, he crept along on all fours in her shadow. He was glad that everyone was able to get along safely and quietly, even up to getting the key that would let them in to see the governor himself. So it was quite a surprise when they weren't actually able to make it that far because he was spotted and two of their disguises failed.

As Sen's device created a suitable distraction for them to escape under, he realized that Minnie was no longer as close with him as she had been and pausing to make sure she was still with them, he saw that she was not. A look of sadness and panic fell over his feline features as he moved like he was going to do something crazy only to have Minnie throw something to him. His pupils dilated as he focused on the object she had thrown, realizing it was that ring that he had seen them talking to every now and then. He dove for it and caught it in both hands, quickly stuffing it in his pocket and giving Minnie a determined nod before he scampered off after Sen.

He knew they wouldn't leave her there, they'd come back for her and find a way to get her out of this situation, somehow.

" Fortress, City of Agraba "

Later that night, a harsh wake up greeted Minnie. Ice cold water slammed her awake. She was chained, standing with only a prisoner's grab. Her face had been bruised, and all over her skin was black and blue, a couple of bones broken.

She had put up a good fight, and she paid for it dearly when she was captured.

Light from a lamp, blinding bright and hot glared at her, obscuring her vision so that she couldn't see who was in the dark room with her. But the smell of the place made it clear, that she was in the dungeons.

Pain exploded on her back. Something hit her hard. She was being beaten up again helplessly.

"Cease." grunted a quiet deadly voice. The chains loosened and they let her fall to the ground. The light faded and she could see that there were actually torches in the room. She was surrounded by dangerous men, and right in front of her was a massive red orc. Vassal Ogar.

He looked down on Minnie, like she was something disgusting under his boot. Standing up, he strode forward to her and with one thick knuckle pushed a broken bone further out of place with a look as though seeing how far he could go and how much pain it was going to cause her. "Dog, where are your two friends?"

" Sewers "

The entire city was on high alert that night. Madam Goodhart's Carnival was put under suspicion, though she was indignant being accused of harboring wanted criminals, telling them that those bandits tried to get in their carnival this morning but failed. She let them search her entire troupe, but no one found Sen or Ricket.

The garrisoned enemy chased them throughout the city as the two leaped from roof to roof, dashed into alleyways and crossed blades and clockwork turret with their foes many times. No one would hide them because of their wanted posters and for fear of the black dragon's vassal, but somehow they made it. Resting, out of breath in the sewers.

"Psst!" said an unfamiliar voice. "Over here! Quickly, before the soldiers come and search and the sewers too, a lot of the people down here saw your faces!"

There was a stranger, peering behind a fake wall that was actually a door that blended seamlessly with the rock. They didn't know who he was.

Minnie woke up with a loud gasp from the shocking wake up call, shivering from the ice cold water that slammed on her bruised form. Coughing the water out of her lungs, she winced when her broken legs moved, swaying a bit as she was forced to stand on her toes with her arms were chained above her head. The gunner blinked widely and shut her eyes closed from the bright light, though from the smell, she guessed that they were at the dungeon parts...

She could barely breathe and wondered numbly if a rib or two was cracked or something only to be brought into reality from a harsh hit to her back; she yelped before grunting from the oncoming beat up.

After hearing the command, Minnie didn't feel anymore hits but then with her chains loose she fell on her knees. She let out another pain-filled yelp, the chains still holding her arms over her head and is forced to sit up. Her head stay low and limp as she really didn't want to move anymore, her blue dirtied and bloodied hair veiled her eyes, shadowing them. The little gunner can hear heavy footsteps coming towards her and let out loud yell when the massive red orc pressed a giant knuckle on her right leg, pushing the broken tibia to the side.

"I-! DON'T! KNOW!" Minnie screamed, tugging on the chains hard as she leaned back, squirming wildly as if by doing that the orc would stop causing her pain. However she couldn't move from her spot as she stuck there in this orc's mercy...

By now the broken end part of the tibia is jutting out disgustingly the more he pushed...

Ricket did his best to stay close to Sen as they made their way through the shadows of the city. Watching his back carefully each time they had to defend themselves and escape situations relatively unscathed and without getting captured. It was difficult for him to focus each time because while he knew that Minnie was no damsel, he was still worried for her.

He hadn't really had a moment to hand over the ring Minnie had tossed him and had only considered it once they had found some peace in the sewers, panting softly as he caught his breath and patting at the inner breast pocket of his hooded coat, making sure it was still there, but before he could say anything to Sen about it and hand it over to the twin, his long pointy ears flickered at the sound of an unknown individual's voice.

With the dark pupils of his golden eyes enlarged, he looked over in the darkness, surprised by the voice and unsure of what to make of it, he gave a questioning glance to Sen. They were speaking from a well hidden place so perhaps they could be trustworthy since they mentioned that a lot of people down there had seen their faces. He didn't move until Sen made a decision since even though he was also on the Wanted posters, he still didn't think that it mattered as much for him to get caught.

- Sen Pendragon -
" Sewers, City of Agraba "

Sen gave Ricket a look and a subtle hand gesture. From the two months they've been travelling, fighting, thieving, and surviving together in the war torn bandit and enemy infested Jahara Empire, they've learned to give each other subtle cues of what's going on their minds whenever they needed to act and could not speak their true intentions. It was the look and gesture that meant: keep your guard up, and then he nodded at the stranger.

Quickly they followed him, and the man replaced the hidden door.

"Who are you?" whispered Sen.

"Rebel. I don't give names, neither will I ask for yours. All you need to know is that I'm with the rebel group fighting the scum that took our city. Seems like you two aren't in their good books either. Saw you being chased by them, that was fine dagger work and acrobatics. Too fine for a couple of bandits with a huge bounty."

Sen was silent.

"Don't worry, don't worry, I'm not here to cash in the money, like there's someone who'd pay that much anyway, the sultan's gone, and every other official who ain't kicked out of their seats is just into the enemy's pockets. You must've done a lot of harm for them to put a reward on your heads like that. And that's why I'm helping you, so you can help us. Skills like yours you can help us liberate the city! I don't know why you came into Agraba, but if you help us, we can help you."

It was dark, so Sen could no longer see, but Ricket's cat eyes can. The twin was thinking it over. This could be a trap, then again the more time they waste here, the more Minnie was in danger. He looked scared for them and it was hard to stay calm and think things through. The fortress was on high alert and on lockdown now. Just he and Ricket weren't enough to get in there and get her and his brother out. Balancing the probability, this stranger was likely someone who just wants the cash instead of what he claims to be.

"What do you want us to do?" he asked the man.

"Kill Vassal Ogar."

"Why haven't you done that before?"

"Oh, we tried. And we failed, most of us got killed. Right now we don't have enough weapons, most of the good ones have been taken and are in the armory. We don't have many good fighters left, but we know the ins and outs of Agraba and we've been trying to poison that orc, but it never worked. Skills like you two, you can get in and do it."

"But the fortress in on lockdown, we'd have to fight our way through just to get to him."

"There are other ways into that place. I ain't telling you more of our plans unless you're in, so what say you?"

Sen looked at Ricket's general direction. They needed that way in. "We're in. But any funny business, if one thing is just out of place and it turns out you're lying to us, you and your friends are dead men." The stranger agreed, then he led them through the narrow passageway, out more hidden exits, and further along through the sewers for about two hours. Then they emerged in the ruins of a temple, passed by quietly in the shadows and down into another entrance where in front a stone wall, the man rapped in rhythmic succession and it opened to reveal a set of stairs leading down.

"Quickly, get in." said the stranger.

There was no turning back now. If this was a trap, they wouldn't be able to get out from this way. Sen looked at Ricket, silently asking if they should risk this or not.

"Lie, and I will hurt you, tell the truth and you will get rest." said the Orc. "Your friends. Where. are. they. hiding?"

Vassal Ogar didn't believe that she did not know as his soldiers lost them yesterday morning and then lost them again today. His soldiers had turned the city upside down looking for them, but to no avail and he asked her where they last hid. If she did not answer he hurt her again and showed no mercy. His questions ranged from what she was doing here, why she was trying to get to the isolation cells, and why she has a large bounty on her head. He also wanted to know how she managed to sneak past his guards and which foreign land she came from, for she definitely wasn't a Jaharian.

If Minnie never answered, he threatened to cut off her trigger arm, the one with the hand she used to fire her gun, and then throw it into the fire so that it will never be healed. And if she refuses to cooperate, cut off the other one, then her legs, her eyes, her tongue and her ears until she could do nothing but just roll around for the rest of her life, mute, deaf, and blind.

"I. DON'T. KNOW. WHERE!" Minnie really didn't know where Sen and Ricket could have gone now as she doubted they hid in the slums again. She really tried to pay attention to the questions whenever the pain dulled but even then it's hard to pick up the words with that ringing in her ear. She can't focus with that much pain.

Though the one question she did pick up was...

"I-I don't know why I hav- a large b-bounty. All I d-do is guard m-my friends. Wh-why, I don't know o-other than it's just my job they hired me for." She answered honestly. It was her job to guard the twins since they hired her as such and making sure they don't slack off.

A very subtle nod was given to Sen in acknowledgement of his gestures and his feline eyes focused in on the man as they followed him through the door, taking in as much of his appearance as he could before those golden eyes with dilated pupils quickly scanned the surroundings of the corridor or room they had now entered.

Ricket was just as silent as Sen, he was paying more attention to their surroundings than the conversation, seeing it best to let Sen handle it. Though he was taking into consideration what was being said and whether or not it seemed believable. He was also weighing the pros and cons of going with this stranger.

When Sen cast his gaze in Ricket's direction, whether or not he could see it, Ricket nodded. The cat had come to the decision that it likely wasn't a trap based on the fact that if they wanted the reward, they could have just killed the two there in the darkness, they were at a disadvantage and the bounty was dead or alive. It'd be much easier to kill them and take them in than to trick them and take them in alive.

When they arrived at the temple ruins and were once more ushered down a set of stairs in another hidden passage and Sen looked to Ricket questioningly, Ricket's mouth quirked into a subtle smile that was gone as quickly as it had appeared as he gave a slight nod of his head and a reassuring pat to Sen's shoulder before he would step into the passage way, keeping an eye out as he had been, his paws on his daggers.

Sen followed his friend, then the stranger came last, and with the grinding of stone, the hidden entrance was shut. The stairway led down to the lower levels of the abandoned temple, and at the very bottom, holding torches, was a collection of individuals from all the races in the Jahara empire: there were the dark skinned men and women, the cat-folk, and the black canine-folk who worshipped Anubis. The latter weren't exactly on good terms with Ricket's kind most of the time. Something about cats and dogs just not getting along together, but here they seemed to be comrades.

"Oh, you two are alright!" said a familiar voice. One of Madam Goodhart's vampire companions, whose name must have slipped their minds --- or he probably didn't introduce himself last time --- was there. It was the one who had said that what Ricket was pointing out about the wanted posters yesterday had some merit.
"I brought your things, they are all here."

"Are you two here to help us?" stepped forth one of the canine-folk who had a gruff voice and a scar over an eye.

Seth gripped his shoulder as he stood guard outside the room where they were torturing Minnie. He had just heard a sickening crunch and it took all his strength not go barging in and attempt to save her. He was still in disguise, and he had talked to the governor below. He knew how to get out of Jahara now, and the only thing left to do was to save Minnie, and reunite with his brother and Ricket.

He had just heard the rumors that preparations for a hundred cattle was underway. A deathknight was coming to visit Agraba, and her pet as ever, will be hungry when they arrive.

* * * *

The next day, Minnie would notice that one half of her body was lighter than usual. She paid for her defiance, and the only reason why she wasn't dead, was because they needed information. They had let her rest as the orc's witch doctor's healed her stump and any other life threatening injuries, but it wasn't a respite, because they were going to break her again today. They made it clear, because somehow they didn't let her sleep, waking her at random times in the night with ice cold water. Coupled with the freezing night, they just let her suffer.

The dungeon door opened and closed again. There was a soldier in the room. The familiar slap of a club for beating, patting rhythmically on a gloved palm.

"Minnie?" whispered Seth's voice.

With a quiet groan, Minnie woke up, noticing how light her right side is. Each shuddering breathe left her feeling even worse as she remembers last night. A feverish flush of red dusted on her pale cheeks as she tries to block her memories, clenching her eyes shut; but that made it worse as the sensations of each strike came back with a painful pulse. She coughed, harsh movement in her chest made the bruises much more obvious to her with the aches that the witch doctor obviously and gleefully did not heal as a reminder. Not like the ice cold water being splashed on her wasn't a reminder enough as it is....

Her left arm shook as she tried to push herself up, taking a deep and rough breath as if preparing herself. Then she looked to her right, where her arm should be...but it's not there...not anymore...

The tiny prisoner coughed again, curling up into a ball as her bones aren't broken anymore, trembling.

Minnie didn't mean to flinch when the door opened and closed nor did she mean to curling up tighter when she heard the repeated slapping noise of a club hitting a glove; She covered her ears as much as she could with her shoulder and left hand. It's just another reminder. It's another one-!

However when she heard a very familiar and very welcoming voice, the tiny gunner let out a small gasp and slowly peeked over her shoulder to see if that's who she thinks it is, hand going down from her ear. Then she shuffled to sit on the side of her hip, leaning on her left arm to have a better look with her mouth opening into a small 'O'. Her once dead teal blue watery eyes has a hopeful spark.

"...S-Seth?" Her voice whispered, rough from her screaming so much last night when they were tormenting her. Minnie cringed at the disguise he's wearing, hunching her shoulders as she leaned away a bit.

Those large golden eyes of his blinked several times as he took in the sight of all of those that had gathered in the sewers. His furry face quirking a smile as he saw the contrasting members of the group. These had to be rebels, they had to be telling the truth about wanting their help. There was no way that the canines would be seen here with the felines otherwise. He looked up at Sen, his amusement and slight relief showing on his furry face as he nudged the teen and nodded his head towards the group and speaking softly, "Rrrrrrricket not think they's bad. Rrrrrricket thinks we can trust."

His ears twitched slightly beneath the hood of his jacket, this one was one that he had picked up while they were escaping before and he hadn't had the chance to cut holes for the ears, which he actually didn't mind since he was trying not to look like a cat person at the time. He lowered his hood as the vampire spoke, grinning slightly, "aaah... thank you, thank you,"

Here he took a step and turned towards the canine, his enthusiasm not diminishing until he heard a feminine voice calling from behind them, "where is he?! Is he here? Did you get him?!"

Ricket froze and looked in the direction that the voice was coming from, evident recognition on his features as his eyes widened and he stared in anticipation as a slender cat girl, just as small as he, wriggled out from between a couple of the onlookers in the group that had gathered to greet them. He balked slightly at her appearance, and moved to put his foot back where it had been before he had considered stepping forward. The cat girl on the other hand stalked nearer to him, her ears flat and her eyes narrowed, "M-m-m..."

No one in the crowd really knew what would happen, neither did Ricket, but after only a few purposeful steps, she crouched and lunged at Ricket, knocking him to the floor as her arms wrapped around him and she giggled wildly, "I'm so glad you're alright!!!"

the male cat person was visibly relieved, his eyes closing as he sighed before he grinned up at Sen and gave a thumbs up before his hands moved to the cat girl that was laying on him, "u-um... can Moonie-it get off now?"

The cat girl giggled and nodded before slipping from him and rising to her feet and Ricket followed suit, now his smile turning somewhat awkward as he rubbed the back of his furry head, "this... this Rrrrrrrricket...."

He didn't get a chance to decide how to introduce her because one of her little hands balled into a fist and clocked him on the head, "I was Ricket's betrothed..." she turned a glare on the feline in question, "at least until he decided that he'd rather live in the desert alone than have a family."

Ricket winced when his formerly betrothed bopped him and drew in a breath between his sharp teeth, "M-Minuette... now not time!" he rubbed his head vigorously before lowering his hand and sighing, turning his attention back to Sen, though he was obviously embarrassed, "Sen-it... this Minuette. She from Rrrrrrricket clan."

Sen relaxed when he saw a familiar face and jumped out of the way when Ricket was tackled. "Betrothed?" Ricket must be older than he thought. "Hiya, Minuette, I'm Sen! You almost have the same name as a friend of mine."

Secretly he whispered to Ricket, "You got good taste, but why did you betroth her when you didn't want a family in the first place?"

The canine who spoke to them seemed to be the leader of the rebels in Agraba, he didn't give a name either, and said they could call him One. It was as the stranger told them as they were invited into their hideout and were seated in a dingy little room where a fire burning in a barrel lit the area, they've been trying to poison Vassal Ogar for ages, that and other assassination attempts. They had close calls, but all of them failed.

Sen didn't realize how hungry he was until they served them rat burgers. Meat was hard to come by since the enemy army had taken most of their food to feed their soldiers. His stomach grumbled, and looked to Ricket to see if he would eat. If he ate, Sen hesitantly followed.

"We have a friend inside the fortress." he said. "She was captured earlier this morning. I'm willing to poison Ogar if and only if we get her out too."

"That makes the plan more difficult." said One.

"We heard there was another way in."

"Yes, but it's far from the dungeons."

"We have a man on the inside. He can get us there, all we need from you is just a distraction far from the dungeon, long enough for us to get our friend out."

"Can you two really poison Ogar?" he looked at Ricket.

"Three." said the vampire. "I'll help too." he gave Sen and Ricket a knowing look, reminding them of the deal they had earlier, that if Madam Goodhart and her fair helped them, they were going to let them in on how to escape out of Jahara.

"Yes, it's me." said Seth kneeling down and quickly holding up a flask of water for her to drink and then fed her some dry crusty bread. "You have to make sounds of pain, pretend I'm beating you." He looked at her wounds heavy-hearted and with pity. Every now and then he'd glance anxiously at the door. "I can't get you out yet, they've got this place on lockdown and there are guards everywhere. I haven't been able to leave to try and contact Sen."

He checked her shackles. "These aren't sealing cuffs, you should be able to use magic." he started to pick the locks. Once they opened, he stuffed little wads of toilet paper in them, explaining that the locks will lock, but if Minnie pulled on them hard or put her whole weight on them they have a huge chance of coming loose. He also hid a lockpick and a dagger under a cabinet for her to use, showing her how to open a lock with just her mouth and her one hand. It wasn't the first time she's seen him pick a lock.

"Minnie, I'm going to hide two of my smoke bombs here." he gestured under the cabinet. "Their fuse time is two seconds. It's going to be hard to see and it'll be hard to breathe because of the pepper effect, so I need you to memorize this map, the items on the wall and how many steps it takes to get to one place to another so that you know how to get there blind." he showed her a piece of paper he drew.

"I can't stay here long or they'll think something's up. I'll come back for you as soon as possible." he gently laid a hand on her shoulder. "We'll get out of here, and we're going to get them back for what they've done to you. I was able to talk to the governor, I know the way out of the country now. And the guards haven't been able to catch Seth nor Ricket. We were able to do what we came her to do, all that's left is just getting out. I'll try to find a gun for you. You can do this."

Minuette offered Sen a bright, toothy grin as he introduced himself and nudged Ricket with her elbow, "your brother is here.... I'll go tell him you made it," with that, she left the group, disappearing again behind the members of the rebels that had gathered.

Ricket grimaced, looking slightly anxious as he watched her go, giving a sideways glance to Sen, "Rrrrrricket tell you later," cat people aged differently than Humans so while he was still a teen in Human years, he was older in the years of his people.

Being a cat, rat burgers didn't seem like much of a big deal. Out in the desert he had roasted locusts for meals before and so he took one of the burgers without hesitation, now a bit more comfortable with these rebels after seeing Minuette there and learning that his brother was also trying to help free Agraba. Ricket smiled around a mouthful of the burger and held it up in an encouraging gesture as he saw Sen's eyes on him.

He swallowed gravely as Sen mentioned Minnie and her dire situation, he was taking into consideration all of the information they had thus far and working over how they would actually accomplish the task, "how yous try to poison Ogar-it before?"

Minnie flinched again when Seth got too close too fast before grabbing the flask and drinking the water. Then she took a bite of the dry crusty bread, not caring about where Seth might have gotten it. As he directed, the tiny gunner made a lot of sounds, very similar to the ones she groaned before whenever someone beats her with a club, harsh coughing and hacking helped with the effect of being hurt too.

Her throat's burning though...

At the thought she flinched, grimacing when she noticed Seth's pity gaze on her wounds and poked his forehead in quiet retaliation. She doesn't want to be pitied, thanks. The more she listened to Seth's plan, the more she realized that there's going to be upcoming pain but with this plan...she'll be able to escape with Seth and no more pain for a while. Minnie looked over the map, memorizing it and closing her eyes so she can count in her head as she tries to get comfortable at the idea of being blind for a few minutes.

"...When we get out of here, I'm punching you for blinding me." She muttered quietly. Minnie had enough with being pain for goodness sake. Then she sighed, accepting her fate of being hurt again. Her shoulders slumped as her body still trembled.

"...Stay safe and be ninja, Seth." Minnie said quietly, nodding in thanks for the food, water, and keeping her sane at the moment. Even when she's breathing really quickly when Seth touched her shoulder, trying to not shaking him off.

"Putting this into his food." said One, showing them an acid green vial. "But he has a taster now, and he only drinks from his flask. This poison has color, but it's tasteless. If you can somehow pour this into his flask, the dose should be enough to kill him."

"He carries his flask around everywhere, and prepares his drinks himself. The only time he takes it off is at night when he sleeps." said the stranger.

Ricket eyed the vial steadily as he listened to what was being said, his golden eyes blinking a few times before he looked to Sen and then back to One, "Ogar-it make his own drink? He brew?" Ricket asked thoughtfully, One did say that he prepared his own drinks so that could mean that he either checked them over before putting them in the flask or that he actually cooked the ingredients himself before putting them in, either way, unless he uses his taster on the ingredients used to make his drinks, it might be one way to poison him.

"No, he collects water from moisture in the air." said One. "He has a large plastic spread, weighed down in the center with a rock. Dew collects on the plastic, then it trickles down a clay jar beneath the stone. That's where he gets his water. It's on the roof of his tower where four guards are guarding it all the time. The guards enter and exit through his room. He has another two guards outside his door to check the faces of those coming in."

The feline nodded his head, his clawed, stubby, and furry fingers stroking his chin slightly as his golden eyes narrowed while he thought, there would have to be a distraction for the guards and anything too much would probably make Ogar wary of the water and try to start all over again. Honestly Ricket wondered how he managed to collect any moisture in a reasonable amount of time from the dry desert air. The tyrant was obviously extra paranoid. He snorted slightly, "no way to poke him with poison dart? Something extra bad enough to make him sickie through skin?" there was more than one way to poison someone after all and he was curious exactly which ways they had tried.

"Yes, if you get close enough, you can shoot him. The problem is if he has antidotes. We don't know if he has antidotes. If you choose to shoot him, you have to prevent him from escaping, or he might just cure himself."
