Fantasy Howl's Flying Castle (Finished! ---Whoo! (*^▽^)/)

- Seifer Rathmore -
" Night time, Camp, Giant mushroom grove "

Seifer thought awhile. " Yes, that'd be nice." He got cozy and snuggled into Renee more. The campfire was nice and warm this cool night. "Do you want me to . . . um . . . care about her too?" There was a pause and then he added, "And your family and your close friends?"

- Johnny Caprice -
" Night time, Camp, Giant mushroom grove "

Johnny just let Echo cry. He patted her head amiably. "Shall I get you a warm bowl of soup? Renee cooked tonight, though I don't remember us having potatoes and ordinary spices before . . . I wonder where she's keeping all of those food."

Katsuya Katsuya

"Okay, we'll visit Echo tomorrow." Renee let out a sigh, feeling comfortable in his arms. As she listened to Seifer's question, she gave him an amused smile. Her wings fluttered happily. "While the idea is sweet of you and as much I would love that, it's up to you if you feel comfortable enough to care about my family and friends. I'm not going to order you to be friends with anyone if you're not comfortable to do it."

Then she gave him a loving kiss before leaning back with her special smile. "Though I do think it would be beneficial for you to have friends too...It'll be unhealthy to always be around me and not have a friend, Sweetheart. Not because of our heart conditions but because you need to have a different bond with others as well to be mentally healthy." Renee suggested, intertwining her fingers with his as her other hand stirred the large pot for a moment and let's it rest a bit more.

"Who knows...maybe the others can teach you things that I cannot just by getting to know them."

***

"Yes...Wi-will you s-snuggle with me after?" Asked Echo, sniffing as she peeked up from her spot. The white parts of her eyes are pink from the crying and she looked more flustered from the incoming fever.

"Hmm . . . Okay." he gave her a French smooch. There was a sound like a wet plunger being pulled when their lips parted. "I'll do it then." he smiled, watching her expression.

" Night time, Camp, Giant mushroom grove "

"I will. We shall snuggle all night." said Johnny light-heartedly. He picked up a bag then left the tent and came upon Seifer and Renee; the archer nodded at him in greeting. "Echo's awake." he told them.

Filling up a bowl of the delicious soup, Johnny picked the meat out and laid it aside to open the bag and ask Renee again if he memorized Echo's medicine and potion doses right. "She feels feverish and a little shaken." he added worriedly. "Could you please check on her again, Renee?"

Lydia just smiled to James as he complimented her attack and her gaze faltered when Kenren said they should celebrate later. She wasn't exactly celebrating, but she nodded slightly and moved from James to set about the task he assigned them. After thinking for a moment she found a fallen tree trunk and asked one of the soldiers to cut a piece of a limb and carve it out into container with a lid before, with the aid of James, she etched the proper runes into the interior and exterior of the container. She didn't want to handle the stone so she let James take care of securing it and giving it to Kenren.

When she saw Renee emerge from the tent Echo had been placed in, she went to join her in cooking since she was still trying to learn. She had learned many new abilities since the journey started and some she was still working on, they were all skills that were part of survival and since she hadn't known how to cook before, she decided that it would be a good idea to continue learning.

When the meal was done and everyone had been served, Lydia went to her own tent to think.

When Seifer leaned away, making a loud popping sound, he would see Renee blushing bright red. Her wings fluttering like they didn't know what to do as she tries to comprehend the new type of kissing, opening her mouth a bit before closing and opening again. It took her a while to think properly again as she placed two finger tips on her puckered lips, blinking widely. Once she realized what Seifer said, her already wide eyes widened more before a huge smile appeared and she tackled him into a hug; being careful of the soup.

"You will!? That's wonderful!" Renee giggled happily.

When Johnny came out and recited Echo's dosage, Renee nodded at him before frowning a bit in worry. Echo's getting a fever? "Sure. I can check on her right now..." She stood up, out of Seifer's warm embrace and was about to walk in the tent before pausing. Then she looked at Seifer and Johnny.

"Would you guys like to come in too? I'm sure it's fine if you're quiet enough to not startle her..." Renee hinted, smiling warmly at the guys.

Once she got her answer, Renee went inside and checked on her friend. Echo sighs and looked at Renee. "...Sorry for being a bother-"

"Shush! None of that." Renee scolded lightly as she checked on her bandaged wounds before telling the pair of guys that she'll be right back with medicine for her fever and a bucket of lukewarm water. In the meantime, just keep Echo company if they like.

- Echo's Tent -
" Night time, Camp, Giant mushroom grove "

For Johnny, it felt a little strange that Seifer was in the tent, because he had never thought that he of all people would care to actually visit Echo just because; whether the archer found this odd too, it was hard to tell, because Seifer as usual took everything by stride.

" You look terrible, Muses." he said casually, sitting cross-legged beside her.

Johnny sat opposite and stirred the bowl of soup, blowing on a spoonful. "Would you like to eat now?" he asked Echo.

Katsuya Katsuya

Echo had to chuckle at the comment. "Yea and I feel just as terrible....thanks for visiting." It was nice that Seifer came by, showed that he cared somewhat.

"Yes please...let me just..." She added towards Johnny as she tries to sit up, flinching as her arms trembled from the pressure. Echo gritted her teeth.

"Here." said Johnny, coming close and propping up a leg that Echo could lean back on. He offered an arm for her to hold if she wished, watching her closely in case her arms gave way.

"Um, let me help too." said Seifer uncertainly, offering his own arm.

Johnny gave him a quizzical look; the archer said, "What?"; "You're . . . being nice." said Johnny, taken aback by this friendliness. "Who are you and what did you to Seifer?"

The archer grinned. "So you have a sense of humor after all. I'm just helping . . . makes Renee happy." he added in an undertone, looking slightly embarrassed. That Johnny understood and didn't give him weird looks anymore.

"Say 'aaaaah'." Johnny happily fed Echo soup. He had that look again, like he's caring for a baby Butters and doted on her, probably embarrassingly, judging by the sick face Seifer was wearing. "Who's a sick Echo Mello, you are."

" . . . Hey, I've been wondering," said Seifer quickly before he witnessed anymore mush, " where did Echo Mello and Solid Marshmallow come from?"

Katsuya Katsuya

Echo looked up to see a pair of arms, one different than the other and she looked at Seifer in a bit of shock.

"...Who are you and what did you do to Seifer?" She said at the same time as Johnny before blushing. When she heard Seifer's answer, the fawn smiled at the archer and grabbed onto their arms, pulling herself up. It seems Renee is a bigger influence then she thought...Will you look at that...Seifer never let himself look embarrassed in front of others either...so he's opening up too...

"I see...You must really like her then, huh?" Echo quietly questioned as she leaned on Johnny's leg and gleefully said as she opened her mouth: "Ahhhh~! Nom nom." She ate the yummy soup and giggled, somehow...she was really amused by how Seifer looked sick with their mushy-ness. He'll understand if Renee ever gets hurt and he has to care for her like this too...maybe...

When Seifer asked where the nicknames come from, Echo swallowed first. "Well...I always liked Johnny being fluffy like a marshmellow. The solid part came by when I pranked him...with a belly-dancing outfit Serena made for me...and he said he wouldn't be affected my...'bewitching good looks'...Like he would be solid..." Echo said this as she slowly turned redder and redder at re-telling the whole thing to Seifer, giggling happily but in a goofy manner.

In the meanwhile, Chenglei checked on Lydia after he was done scouting the area, tapping on solid part of the tent to grab her attention. "Ly?"

Johnny became embarrassed too.

"You wearing a belly dancer's outfit --- " began Seifer, pointing at Echo in disbelief, but Johnny cut him off waving his arms.

"Hold it, Echo beyond that point is for my eyes only." he said. "Though I don't remember much of it because I was drunk." he looked put out that he didn't remember.

"Huh, and here I thought you two were goody-goodies like Dubois." said Seifer, amused. "I've always seen you two as the innocent chaste couple who'd do nothing but hold hands, I must have been cooped up in that room for too long."

"You were." agreed Johnny. "How did you manage the boredom?"

"Well, I wasn't . . . entirely alone." said Seifer, smirking.

"You're treating Renee properly, aren't you?" said Johnny suddenly sounding like an older brother.

"Of course I am." said Seifer a matter-of-factly. "Just ask her. I've been treating her really good." he said smoothly.

"Never mind." said Johnny, covering his eyes. He continued feeding Echo, blowing on the spoon before putting it in her mouth. He really liked taking care of her and was always smiling.

When Renee returned she'd find Seifer talking naturally with the two about their taste in music. He was surprised Echo could tap-dance and asked if she could teach him, because he did not know how to do that.

Katsuya Katsuya

Echo giggles embarrassingly as Johnny explained the whole thing, her ears twitched. Her smile looked silly. "Guess you learn something new today, huh?" She playfully said, feeling a lot better with her fear by talking. It helps to talk about other things and let her mind not remember the painful crushing between a mouth-...

Yea, she really needed to stop that. Though she did notice Johnny's put out look when he mentioned about not remembering her wearing it. 'Hmm...Maybe...' She thought as she listened to Seifer's answer to Johnny's question and blinked in a bit of worry. What did Renee and Seifer do behind doors?! James will murder him if he ever finds out about that...Oh boy...

She ate happily when Johnny continued to feed her, sighing and snuggling and nuzzling against Johnny as she felt her stomach getting full and warm from the soup. When Renee returned, carrying a small bowl filled with warm water with a towelette and medicine, Echo was agreeing to teach Seifer how to tap dance.

"Sure! I would love to teach you. I never knew you were interested in dancing, Seifer."

"Yea, he is. He knows how to dance salsa, free-style, ballroom, krunk, and...ballet, right Snugglebunny?" Renee asked, wondering if she got that right. Echo practically choked on the soup when she heard Renee's nickname for Seifer and looked at her before looking at him...then back at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Snuggle...Bunny, Renee?" The winged teen blushed but she grinned all the same.

"Yea...Snugglebunny. Have a problem with that, Echo Mellow?" The fawn snorted in amusement. "I'm just wondering where did that come from..."

"...We snuggle a lot..."

"And the bunny part?"

"...He's like a bunny...ANYWAYS! Here's your medicine for your fever." Renee quickly mentioned, her face turning red as an apple as she shoved a spoon full of some sort of disgusting looking bright pink paste to her mouth; She ate it and swallowed...before leaned back violently and wincing from the painful movement. Her ears folded back before perking up at something.

"What in the-!? Renee, what's in that? Why did it shock me?!"

"...Plants, Echo. What else would it be in here?"

"Yea, but...why did it shock me?"

"Did it taste bad?"

"Renee, why did it shock me?...and why am I getting hotter?" Echo panted as Renee placed the small towel on her forehead, making her shiver from how cold it is; when it's actually lukewarm. Her pale tan face looked more flustered as her eyelids went down halfway.

"It shocked you because it's part of the Intense Pink plant's side effects. It's supposed to help sweat out the fever." Renee wasn't going to mention about her experience with it as she's pretty sure Seifer would remember her state. Not that she regretted it at all. "Don't worry, Echo. I made sure to counter balance the other side effect with Soothing plant...I'm sure Johnny wouldn't mind it as much but yea...Get ready for that part." She added to Johnny, raising an eyebrow as she watched Echo lean into Johnny and shivered, tugging the blanket so she can cover herself more while snuggling. Then she giggled.

"Well...I'm glad that you're okay Echo." The fawn in question looked at her friend and said: "Me too..." Then blanket moved around, the other couple might not notice but Echo is wrapping her arms around Johnny and put her hands under his shirt. Gently touching his skin...

"Well that's our cue to leave! Come on, Sweetheart...Before stuff happens." Renee ushered Seifer but before she left, she looked at Johnny. "Don't worry. She's fine. Just make sure she doesn't move much and dip the towel in the bowl for every few minutes. Good night guys!" When they left to their own tent, Renee kissed Seifer deeply and muttered hotly.

"Thank you for caring, Sweetheart." Her wings fluttered happily as she continued to rain kisses all over his face and ears.

The sound of chattering and footfalls outside of the tent went unnoticed by the young witch as she lay on her side staring at the cloth wall, her thoughts roaming. She wasn't sure how she should feel about being the end of yet another Deathknight. While she did get the killing blow, it didn't really feel like much of an accomplishment because just like last time, her friends had been the ones in the heat of battle. They had been the ones fighting for their lives while she had just shown up at an opportune moment and been able to deal the killing blow.

She curled up in a ball, hugging her legs against her and closing her eyes. For all the encouragement that everyone always offered her, she still felt like she didn't make a difference a lot of the time, despite the encouragement all of them always offered her, even James just before he had made her unhappy, he still told her that they needed her to fight. Though she did wonder if they really did, someone else could have taken that swing and killed the Deathknight either of the times they had faced off against one, and the thought that she had been the one to take that swing bothered her because she wondered if eventually, she might have to be the one to take that swing at Seifer.

She gnawed her thumb absently before rolling over on her back and staring at the cuffs on her wrists. They weren't to suppress the dragon, they were to suppress her. It was already known that the dragon's powers were beyond the reach of the sealing capabilities of the cuffs. Her friends and comrades weren't protecting themselves against the dragon, they were protecting themselves against her. Her jaw clenched tightly. She hadn't really understood how Seifer felt with how everyone was always treating him, but now in a way she understood, though she thought that perhaps she had been the most cold towards him and that thought just made her feel bad.

She didn't have a chance to muse further on these melancholy thoughts however, as Chenglei called from outside and rapped on her tent. She sat up slowly and crossed her legs, "Chenglei? What is it?"

"You're welcome, baby!" smiled Seifer dashingly, and wiggled all chipper under Renee's affections.

Meanwhile, back in Echo's tent, Johnny was as red as a tomato and stammering incoherently as he tried to push down Echo's hands that were turning him on faster than you could say 'hot soup!'.

"E-Echo, love, Renee said you must not move so much." he tried to hold back her hands with one of his as he straightened up the small towel that's slipping from her forehead with the other. It was hard since she was leaning on his propped up leg and there wasn't much space between her side and his stomach for him to curve his arms and hold them. That and he had to keep her close to support her and not aggravate her injuries.

"Let us lie down." Hugging her, his heart pounding in his chest, Johnny's hands spread to support Echo's back as he put her down gently on the make-shift bed.

'Don't look at her eyes, don't look at her eyes.' he thought as he began to pull away. The warmth under the blanket swirling with her lovely scent, and her fluffy ear pressing against his cheek made him gulp. Echo is injured, so they cannot do anything tonight. It is wonderful that they are going to rest on the same bed together for the first time, though, and she wants to snuggle with him. He liked feeling needed, and smiled.

And it was this happy thought that made him look into her eyes.

"I wanted to check up on you, see if you are feeling alright." Chenglei answered back, his tone is quiet compared to everyone's else. She didn't see it but he is worried about her; his eyebrows were furrowed, a tilt downwards on one corner of his lips, and his ash purple eyes looked darker than normal. "May we talk? Or should I leave?"

***

While Renee is giggling happily, leaving kisses anywhere she reached on Seifer, in another tent Echo groaned in a shudder when she felt his hands on her back while they lied back down; She's definitely sweating a pond after eating that medicine. What sort of herb did Renee use for it because it's insane with making people sweat a lot...and the touches! It's like no matter how much they touch, it'll always feel very nice.

Somehow the intense shivers was like a bonus from how Echo felt at the moment and she sort of wished she wasn't sick or injured to experience it better.

"O-okay." Echo looked up at him to see that he's trying to not look at her and it made her a bit sad. She wondered why...and he's moving away too...'Maybe it's because she's injured and doesn't want to hurt her but then what's with the lack of eye contact?

That's when Johnny finally made eye contact and Echo shuddered from the tingling sensation down her spine. She let out a shaky sigh of relief as she smiled silly and leans in to rub noses; her hands are curious, Johnny could probably tell, as she kept touching his skin somehow. One hand is on his cheek while the other is traveling around his back again to be tucked under his shirt. Then the one on his cheek moved to his ears, human one first before going to the sheep ones and she only caressed them lightly before going back to his cheek.

So it seems Renee did find a way to curb the intensity of amorous feelings, just not all of it yet as Echo still reacted to any of his touches while gazing warm and lovingly into his eyes.

"S-sorry...I really want to just cuddle with you. It feels nice." Echo muttered, making herself comfortable in his arms before snuggling.

"I-it's fine." said Johnny tightly, back jerking in an arch from her touches. This was a new 'it's fine', it seemed to mean: 'I'm-trying-to-be-calm-but-this-feels-really-good'.

He shuddered and gave in, letting Echo's hands roam as much as she wanted. He groaned into her neck and lay sideways, snuggling close --- he couldn't take it anymore and abruptly captured Echo's mouth in a fierce kiss. His eyes were glazed again. His hands ran up her shoulders, the side of her face, to fondle her fluffy ears.

Katsuya Katsuya

Echo's ears perked up again when he let her hands roam around, somehow really pleased that she made him groan like that. Even better when he kissed her. When he fondled her ears, she broke the kiss and bleated, her flushed face went red as the heat seems to build up. Who knew Johnny can kiss like tha-

"Echo! I heard that you're...ok...ay now..." Serena's cheerful smile turn into one of a disbelieving deadpan at the hot and bothered couple. She raised a blonde eyebrow, silently questioning if she should say anything about that...what they are doing...yea...

Echo's already red face turned dark hue and buried her face into Johnny's chest to hide. Though the both of them can hear her giggling, awkward but humored in a way.

"...So I'm gonna go...leave you two be..." Serena muttered in a blank voice, now turning back out the tent. "Have fun you two...Geez and I thought Renee and Seifer was bad..." Was what Echo can hear and she giggled again, now looking up with her green and shiny eyes.

The corner of her mouth quirked up in a faint smile that disappeared just as quickly as it had appeared, "Oh um..." Her hands rested against her her legs, holding her shins and she rolled her shoulders slightly before nodding, "we can talk... it's okay."

Chenglei sat down on the ground, outside and next to the tent opening. He took off his sheathed katana from his hip to place it on the ground next to him, ready for him to grab should he need to. Then he looked up at the night sky, seeing the stars twinkling all the same.

"How are you, Ly?" Chenglei asked quietly. "Any thoughts you would like to share? Did you eat something?"

Johnny kept going, looking up abruptly at Serena only when Echo's lips escaped him as she buried her face into his chest. His glowering eyes were very clear, 'Leave'. A growl rumbled in his chest.

It disappeared as he looked down at Echo, his eyes soft and good-humored once again. That seemed to snap him out of his throbbing passion, and he sighed dismally and lay back on the cot, withdrawing his hot hand that had slid under Echo's shirt and up her stomach. Echo's injured, he can't do this.

"Hng." he grunted in disappointment. "I'm so frustrated." he grumbled, settling to holding Echo and nuzzling his face against her cheek and fluffy ear.

Lydia sat silently for a moment gently biting her lower lip a moment. It wasn't really an easy question for her to answer. Chenglei could probably hear her moving as her legs shifted so she could curl into a position that was very habitual for her, bringing her knees up to her chest so she could hug them, resting her chin against her knees, "I didn't... wasn't really hungry."

She smiled slightly, recalling that Chenglei had wanted her to eat when they had been enslaved by the wolves and she was then nauseous because of how the wolves were eating. She turned her head to the side, resting her cheek against her knees, "Chenglei... is there a difference... between killing a Deathknight and killing a person?"

Katsuya Katsuya

Chenglei didn't move from his position and hummed, acknowledging that once again, Lydia is not taking care of herself for some reason he might not know about.

"You should eat when you can, Ly." He scolded lightly, not really going to force her into eating right now. Then he thought about the question she asked for a moment.

"...Depends on the intention, Ly." Chenglei started. "Anybody can kill a person for any reason. Be it for money or self defense, there's always a reason behind it." The blond sighed heavily like there was a weight he's carrying for too long.

"I'm sure it's the same for a deathknight. Anybody can try to kill one but the intentions behind killing them can be completely different from yours." To the oriental, it's the same thing: killing. It's still killing, no mistake about it, but he isn't naive when it comes to harsh realities.

"...Why? Do you regret killing a being in general?" He asked curiously, but based on the tone, he's willing to back away from the topic if she's not ready to indulge.

***

Smiling warmly, Echo placed little kisses on his cheeks and nose, her ears twitching a bit. "Me too, Love. Me too..." She can't right now though; She's in pain and is only numb now that she noticed...Was it in the pink paste Renee gave her? What was that plant called again...a ...Soothing plant?

'I'm guessing the side effect for that one is numbing and cooling down.' Now she noticed the cooling sensation raising up; It felt like eating a mint or brushing teeth with mint toothpaste. Echo leaned into his hug and sighed happily.

"It's okay though. I'm just happy that I'm here with you right now."

Zer0 Zer0 Roleplay Skittle Roleplay Skittle

"I know..." she said gently before listening to him answer the question she had asked and she considered his words for a moment. She wasn't really sure how she should respond because she didn't really know her answer, "Seifer.... he's almost a Deathknight... and Hisaya... he was a person once.. so when I've killed Deathknights... was I technically killing people?" for some reason the idea just didn't sit right with her, "I didn't know them... but I know Seifer and..."

Lydia shook her head and buried her face against her knees, "I don't know... I guess I didn't really think about it... I don't think about it when I have to do something... I just know that people I care about are in danger and I have to stop that."

Katsuya Katsuya

Chenglei had to smile though bittersweet. His eyes look pained but glad too.

"...Yes, you are killing people..." He answered bluntly then he continued. "However it's okay to think like that. To kill for the sake of others and yourself. To keep them safe...Scary, isn't it?" His tone turned dark but it wasn't scary nor frightful or intimidating; It's more of acceptance. Like he understood somehow and is okay with it.

"To think that we will never have some sort of connection or feel any sympathy towards our enemy, but once we find out about their reasons or how they came to be or know them personally, we hesitate." He mentioned then he chuckled lowly.

"What's even harder is to find that connection. I'm still in a bit of awe when I noticed what Ren Ren is doing with Young Rathmore from the beginning. Same with her being kind towards everyone and finding that connection, but even her method is flawed. She might get hurt from that, might have already gotten hurt from it. Yet she still perseveres...Must drive little brother Jams up the wall." He's very amused by that thought. Renee has always been a thought that wonders around the soldier's mind whenever she does something with a kind gesture or offer a better but harder solution.

"It's okay to not like killing. It's okay to kill as long you understand and accept the heaviness of taking a life. No one here will blame you for doing any of those things, Ly. At least you realize that heaviness now than later."

***

Echo looked at him before sighing. Her ears folded back a bit. "....." Then she turned in place, her back towards him and spoke quietly. "I do too...but I'm broken right now." Her tone sounded...blank. "I'm sorry that I can't do much at the moment..." She semi-tucked her head under the blanket, arms tucked against her chest. "...I'm sorry to be a bother...and starting something I can't finish..." Was...she sniffing?

"You're not a bother!" said Johnny immediately, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I would never ---" he paused, guilty. Never force her? He was going to before Serena came. Perhaps not as much as someone who didn't care about her, but he was already thinking ways of how they could do it without hurting her, even though he knew he would never be able to control himself and would end up worsening her injuries.

Johnny felt ashamed of himself.

He lay back down and didn't speak for a while. "Echo?" he began carefully, " it's okay, you don't have to be sorry you can't do much . . . I don't blame you, since it was the medicine's fault . . ." He slowly hugged her if she let him and felt for her hand. "Sorry. It's just hard to stop, that's all."
