Fandom Homestuck Roleplay: Sburb Omega

Hmmm, thinking it through the ones related to each other just happened to have a lot in common (because of their related status obviously) so that would make the pairs be based upon the similarities the two may share somehow. And Ryan doesn't have to be the odd man out, we just need to find the most individual character out of them all and choose him as the one related to Miss D.

So, which characters wold have the most in common? Or, are we going to go by class and aspect to decide best pairings then?

Ryan has to be the odd one out because he's the only one with an ancestor the same gender, unless we ditch the whole male and female ancestor = male and female descendant pattern.

And also I just realized that in response to James being a very unsettling Omen as a space player who doubles as a prince, We have many very good variables on our team's side.

The Ability to buy time and make time challenges less difficult (Rogue of Time)

The ability to use Luck (Or Knowledge, Luck seems to be in the Ploy of Active players mostly) to Help the Team with chance (Knight of Light)

The Ability to manipulate and encourage the emotional state or souls of Players in a slightly passive active Role (Witch of Heart)

And the ability of Inheriting and manipulating the aspect of Hope, which we know to be in its untainted form very, very powerful. (Heir of Hope)

And a Bard of Life seems.....complex. But possibly helpful nonetheless.

Sorry, went into a whole other zone there.

I suppose you're right with that. Fair point and now we do still have to sort the rest of our characters out.

Well we should analyze our characters first and see exactly how similar they are before we go into breaking guidelines.

In honesty, the Bard is the one that's most likely to doom a session even if he doesn't mean to. We have some explosive parts, but I think the session might thrive depending on a variety of choices made in the game.

Obviously they are always a wildcard but Bards can either be the downfall or ultimate success of their group of players. It's always possible for a bard to turn things around if they manage to overcome their crisis of pushing themselves out of their ghosted aspect.

Oh, with Crocia in the scratched version of the B universe she wouldn't be there anymore. Instead she would be replaced by the yet to be seen Sixth Guardian.

It truly works in how A1 gets a normal set of kids, A2 Gets a mixed set of kids with the switcheroo, B1 gets a Mixed set of kids from the switcheroo and B2 gets a normal set of kids. A1 and B2 were not affected by the switcheroo.

So the sixth Guardian is one of D's paradox parents, correct? I'm pretty sure she has to be female for it to be balanced.

So we just need to figure out which one of the five human kids is D's paradox brother.

Yes, and it also would have to be Ryan's mother.

He's the only male player with a male ancestor, meaning he needs his sister to have a female ancestor (something neither of the existing female players have).

Okay, so D's guardian is female. Pre-scratch, does she interact with Crocia? Is it my choice who this sixth guardian is and what they do as a character?

Page being a gender-biased class rather than a gender-restricted class would likely mean sylphs would be the same. Hmm.

That leaves Maid, Seer, Rage, and Blood. Because Maid is likely a female-restricted class, (especially if Sylph isn't) that leaves Athena's grandfather as a Seer and Crocia's ancestor as a Maid.

Guardians/Ancestor:

Athena's grandfather

James' mother

Ambrosius' "Sister"

Kat's mother

Crocia's ancestor (Who is D? Am I not on the same page here?)

Ryan's brodad (note: not even blond)

In terms of ectobiology, because Crocia both made herself in her session as well as made the version of her that came to Earth, that only leaves her ancestor, which was neglected. We could mirror this, sending one back to Earth so that Earthen Crocia has one and one back to Alternia so that alternian Crocia has one.

Since she is of a different species I don't think she can be included in ectobiological mixing.

First I think personalities should be completely ignored; they're a distraction and (probably?) not biologically influenced at all.

I think we should be focusing on things like hair and eye color.

We have two (TALL) brunette characters, two blond characters and a red-head. The blond pairing however are of the same gender, so that would be ruled out.

Because of Crocia's ancestor, we only really have three options here:

1. Have Crocia and one human (likely Ryan, based solely on his teeth and strange hair properties) be half-human half-troll. This only significantly violates laws of genetics, but it could be explaned away with some kind of ridiculous formula for the ectobiologist to figure out.

2. Have Athena's grandfather sire James and Ambrosius with their respective guardians, while Ryan and Kat's guardians would sire them respectively, and Athena could be borne of either mother... I think I messed this up somewhere...

3. What's this 6th guardian business and who would it even come from? :V

As the owner of the technical sixth Character and her yet to be mentioned ancestor as well as her Lusus, you should have full rights to explore the four different possible characters out of the spot like all of us have the rights to our own four characters, two guardians and two kids.

But as for the sixth child who remains on the troll session, yes, you have the rights to her spot as well if we ever happen to rp in the Trolls session.

I'm sorry to iform you of this and sort of dowse out your fire of information and beauty but we augmented Crocia's backstory about yesterday to make things less confusing and not have destructively long debates about half paradox clone babies and what all, so we decided that originally in the B1 session there were Six completely human (if you'd even call a Paradox clone that) children meant to play Sburb, but, by error of trajectory and a trans-dimensional shift during the Reckoning's shower, the sixth human child and the last Troll child from the A2 session were traded places, meaning taht there is officially a human in the Troll A2 session just like Crocia is in the B1 session.

So D, our sixth Human child is a girl with a girl guardian.

Crocia's Guardian and the Sixth Human child's guardian however can be presumed to be still on their rightful planets. Most likely ignorant to their entire existence as well as a random minor character.

And I slightly disagree with your proposition to ignore the concepts of Personality with how our kids are matched. We can see how characters interact through various Pesterlogs in how, at least in early stages John and Jade remained the kind of friends who seemed on completely open and friendly terms, their dialogue expressive of their more or less simplified emotions while Rose and Dave seemed to base a lot of their conversation around an unspoken connection and platonic love for each other which was known, but never truly said due to their ways of alternatively expressing their emotions through inside jokes, sarcasm and a slight lack of being 'all hunky doory' like John and Jade seemed to be.

I especially believe to turn to a more emotional approach to pairs since the genetics of our characters seem to have trouble matching.

That makes much more sense and works out much neater. As for personality, you're right, but I figured it would be better for it to not distract us (cough cough we have two characters with a large connection to greek mythology but it's supposed to be complete coincidence cough)

So, when making ecto-clones, there would be six viable variables:

James' mother

Ambrosius' sismom

Kat's mother

Girl #6's dad

Athena's grandfather

Ryan's brodad

Now for shipping charts. To prevent siblings with the same gender or ecto-parents with the same genders, possible pairings include the following:

James' mother + Girl #6's dad OR Athena's grandfather

Ambrosius' sismon + Girl #6's dad OR Athena's grandfather

Kat's mother + Ryan's brodad

That was pretty simple. Unless of course we don't intend to stick to that.

Athena and Ambrosius are very similar, both physically and emotionally, (well it's unconfirmed with Athena, but they're similar even geographically) so they would be the obvious choice.

I never was favorable to that, I like my variety. But it makes for much less complication.

I'm thinking this,

Ambrosius and Athena with Hera (Ambrosius' Mom) and Athena's Grandfather

James and Kate with Lilian (Jame's Mother) and Kate's father (Deceased)

And for a Final Pairing we actually have a forced pairing due to the logic of the situation. You see, now that we've switched things up and now everyone's Guardian is the opposite sex from their character except Ryan, Ryan is forced into a pair.

Ryan and Girl #6 with Ryan's Father and Girl Six's Mother

Kate is actually protected by someone how isn't Biologically or rather Ectobiologically related to her. Making her still an opposite gender pair.

Ah.

Kat's app said she had a mother...

With that different then yeah, that would be the logical set of pairings, Ryan's brodad essentially switching with James' mother and Girl #6's mom being the only viable candidate for blond hair.

I think I'm going to add the sixth guardian to Crocia's lore. When Crocia landed on Earth, her lusus "Snapdad" quickly made its home in the swamp in which they landed, choosing a nearby cave as the location for its impressive stash of treasure and Alternian media. The sixth guardian (perhaps some sort of scientist, or someone who lived near the swamp) eventually discovered Crocia and her lusus, but knew she couldn't reveal their existence to the world, seeing as Crocia was still young. So she decided to raise Crocia as her child, since the troll's lusus seemed more interested in protecting its hoard than taking care of her.

How about an adventurer? We should really avoid the whole 'two scientist guardians' thing. Like, maybe some cool world explorer.

And additionally I think that sounds nice and more including then juts tossing away the guardians away as minor characters.

And then with the scratch, Crocia ceases existing in the human's universe, her adopted human guardian takes her place as one of the six B2 kids, and the sixth B1 guardian that was sent to A2 is sent to Earth instead. Essentially, A1 scratch caused the switcheroo, and the B1 scratch undoes it.

Yeah, an explorer guardian for Crocia sounds appropriate, considering her interests. She'd be like a female Crocodile Hunter :P

All righty, I'll go update her character sheet to accommodate.

This leaves two orders of business before we can begin the RP:

  • Finishing Athena's app
  • Deciding guardian classpects

Athena's app is out of our hands, but because of genders Crocia's guardian's class would be locked in as a Maid and Athena's grandfather as a Seer. The remaining two aspects are Rage and Blood, so which would be which?

Additionally you shouldn't be too quick to assume she ceases existing or any of our original characters cease to exist because they could still somehow survive the Scratch.

A Maid of Rage and a Seer of Blood.

A Maid of Blood and a Seer of Rage.

Blood is about unity and therefore it is used to make groups stronger, I propose a Maid of Blood, a Seer of Rage sounds interesting....

I was about to say, Crocia's mama would probably be a maid of blood.
