Fandom Homestuck Roleplay: Sburb Omega

And edit successful. We remain even closer to finally roleplaying. All we have to do now is wait for the final Character sheets to be made and then we can start.

Just a suggestion for your character, his font color is a little difficult to read and is straining on the eyes, might I suggest a darker shade of gold like this?
Ryan's text color was actually chosen to be as close as possible to the yellow used on the pokemon Jolteon while also containing the initials 'FE' for fire emblem and Jolteon's pokedex number in his HTML color code. I don't think it will be that bad though, given it's a few shades removed from actual yellow, and if it is I doubt it's worse than Jane's insanely bright blue. Either way, one could always highlight it.

Seriously though does anyone have a steam account? I imagine it would be very handy to have open contact like that.

And one more problem which relates directly to the plot I would like to run by you all. The First Guardian of nthe B1 Universe? What form would it take and how would it actually contribute to the distribution of the Sburb copies to players?

And even furthered, while it might be later on in the plot therenid still the problem of lighting the Forge for the space player, how would one do this?

According to this page, lighting the forge seems to be throwing a magic ring in one. As for the guardian, I think a crocodile is ruled out because it would be redundant with/overshadow Crocia's denizen. With that eliminated, are there even any other pets belonging to any of the characters? The closest thing to a pet I see here is Ryan's stuffed "tiger", and the only other animal affiliation at all is Ryan's guardian with theropods.

Actually now that I think about it Ryan is probably likely to make Pokemon exist in one way or another in the session, so literally using a Jolteon is an option.

Idk your call.

That sounds kind of humourous. The whole Jolteon bit and I guess that is definitely how you'd go about such a thing in the terms of the Forge. Kanaya made that huge 'Lord of the Rings' reference and threw the Black queens ring away. So I guess maybe James would somehow go on this quest to ask the white queen for her ring or lead a raid of sorts against the Black ring so he can Ignite the Forge.

As for my idea I personally was feeling a large white woman taking on the appearance of some sort of Great Fairy reminiscent of the Zekda games who seals herself for thousands of years at a time in the Frog temple hidden in the snow of a mountain nearby James while she one day simply comes out of the Blooming flower pod and delivers each of the kids copies of Sburb. But Jolteon seems more fun and interactive.

I honestly only like the Jolteon idea better because then we'd have to assign a personality to the great fairy, and our only reference point is Doc scratch who is no just no. In any case, I assume Jolteon will be like a ghost haunting Ryan rather than something as material as becquerel or all-encompassing as GCat. (Timid nature boosts pokemon speed, yes.)

A Jolteon first guardian. Oh boy.

So, while we're waiting for the final apps to be finished, what are we going to use for Pesterlogs? Doing it post by post, especially in an advanced roleplay such as this pretty much always ends up in blocks of several lines covering multiple topics back and forth. Would we be using PMs, a chat system, (cough cough steam cough) or what?

Pesterlogs I believe will be organized in a simple back and forth lengthily blocked format despite your fears. I believe a person speaking with multiple lines of text in a Pesterlogs is just as good as regular dialogue would be. An example of what I'm thinking is,

Rose: John, I believe we're at a simple impasse at this point in tine".

R: Our session is, by a slight strange definition a doomed one incapable of bearinh fruit due to the continuous stream of shenanigans which seems to flow our way through some divine prank.

Rose: Irony has truly befallen us this time John and it is not good whatsoever. I.....I don't believe this is good whatsoever.

Something in length such as that or even longer is expected while the other person does the same in reply"

What I meant was the dialogue ending up looking something like this:

Person A: Go ahead and set down the cruxtruder over here.

Person A: I gotta say, this is some really messed up shit.

Person A: I just don't... wait, did you see anything just now?

Person B: Cruxtruder deployed, and yes, yes it is.

Person B: Haven't seen anything. You must be imagining things.

Person B: Maybe you should focus on those imps over there before you start worrying about ghosts.

Instead of like this:

Person A: Go ahead and set down the cruxtruder over here.

Person B: Cruxtruder deployed.

Person A: Nice. I gotta say, this is some really messed up shit.

Person B: Yes, yes it is.

Person A: I just don't... wait, did you see that just now?

Person B: Haven't seen anything. You must be imagining things.

Person B: Maybe you should focus on those imps over there before you start worrying about ghosts.

But... uh...

Wouldn't a back-and-forth like example B require some way to collaborate? (so we don't have short posts)

Like what I was asking about.

Not necessarily, what you actually had shown in examples A and B were the same amount of information delivered but were replied and added upon in two different ways, all that needs to be done is to simply write a good amount of dialogue on your pesterlog and afterwardsbtge person replies a good amount.

Ah, so we'll be retconning chat order manually then. (?)

Yes, one replies and the other responds while both parties are required to have a decent amount of dialogue to submit a stimulus for responsing, science.

We could use pesterchum that can be downloaded as a computer program (I used it like, 2-3 years ago and it was really cool), but the problem is that we are often not online at the same time, and sometimes answering or leading plot can ask for a bit more planning than spontaneous chatting. That's why it's impractical. If we go back-n-forth as you said, then we have time to plan and we don't have to wait for our partner.

Yeah, it's just that pesterchum seems so inferior to steam because of how it's so easy to stay on it all day.

In any case, will there be additional sessions besides ours? (And I don't mean scratched sessions, I mean ones with 6 entirely different characters)

I believe that the purpose of thebforum is to center an entire plot around a basic storyline and have a more or less normal session (and by normal session I mean one where these characters actually play to game and maybe even best it to a degree) and then they mess up at the end somehow. Basivally, the game of Sburb is already interesting enough to Rp and then we can get into crazier plot nonsense.

Oh and Push, I think I'll just change back my guardian because you changed yours so we can have an even Gender ratio. (#GenderRatio)

Granfather, Brother, Kat's Father (Deceased But Still counts) to Mother Lilian, Sister Hera and Crocias Ancestor.

Most likely.

In all likelihood we will be having a normal session that will go mostly right, maybe even resulting in a new Universe and species that cab come into play later, but eventually through some means after all of their effort into a fun and mostly sensible session they will not be victorious in reapingbthe games ultimate prize.

If there's going to be a post-scratch session, the players should probably have the classes and aspects not being used in this one. Meaning that since we currently have both a space player and a knight, the universe should be created by the pre-scratch players.

I could actually make an entire app for Ryan's guardian if applicable. If it helps in planning, I intended him to be a Thief of Breath.

Mmm I see, James was originally going to be a Mage of Void.

And yes, most probably the B1 sessions Kids AKA our Characters are going to most likely be able to create a new species and Universe which actually may come in much later in the plot once everything falls apart. Which it will inevitably, to battle some dark evil.

One more thing we should figure out is who's related to whom. The possible combinations are Athena and Kat with James or Ambrosius, leaving Ryan the odd one out.
