Fandom His Boyfriend ♡

"Right in here," Caleb said as he led the two boys into an empty classroom.

There was a cauldron on one of the tables. It was surrounded by the other ingredients as well, neatly placed with various other tools for their brew. In the corner, there was a messy table that had a few burnt marks and a dirty caldron. That was probably from Caleb's last attempt at making the potions.

The young Gryffindor boy quickly walked over to the table and handed Nicky a tan piece of paper.

"Here's the instructions for the Thunderbrew," he said.

With that, Nicky took the paper in hand. He scanned the page and sighed softly as he ran his fingers through his hair.

"A professor wrote this? They spelled Leech with an A.." Nicky commented as he continued to read the rest of the paper.

"Oh- ahaha..no. I wrote the instructions down," Caleb blushed softly out of embarrassment.

"That explains it," Nicky said.

"Explains what?" Caleb asked.

"Well, for one, the messy handwriting-- but, also..you switched the order of a few of the ingredients. You're supposed to mix the Leech Juice and Shirveled Fruit first. You wrote that down wrong," he said. "Think of it like baking a cake. It matters if you mix the eggs and oil first rather than just compiling everything together."

"Yeesh..I don't think I'll ever be able to make this brew!" Caleb said out of defeat.

"Nonsense. I'll help you- I mean, I am helping you right now. We'll get this right. Don't worry," Nicky softly smiled, trying to comfort Caleb. It was the first smile he had made since Caleb interrupted the two boys. However, Nicky's smile was partially caused by glancing at Cooper. Caleb wasn't the only kid around who couldn't make potions correctly.

Cooper and Nicky followed Caleb into an empty classroom where there was a cauldron. It showed signs of a clearly failed previous attempt at making the potion.

He curiously looked on as the small Gryffindor boy handed Nicky a piece of paper, which Nicky proceeded to read and then critique it. Cooper couldn’t help but smile and roll his eyes and Nicky criticized the young Gryffindor’s poor note taking. It reminded Cooper a bit of himself.

Cooper frowned when he saw Caleb seem to throw his hands up in defeat, discouraged at Nicky’s words. But it warmed his heart to see Nicky say some words of encouragement and reassurance to the young Gryffindor boy. It was why he loved Nicky so much- he was a nerd but also a sweetheart deep down.

Cooper looked at Nicky and smiled, blushing a little as Nicky glanced at him. They both silently knew that Caleb wasn’t the only one who struggled with potions. They’d shared many nights together studying hard for potions and brewing them. Cooper would be a millionaire if he had a dollar for every time a cauldron had blown up in his face due to a mistake.

But Nicky, always patient and loving, would be by his side to help guide him and try again. Cooper understood what Caleb was going through and what it was like to struggle in class. Potions was particularly tricky.

“Don’t worry Caleb,” said Cooper with a soft and kind smile, “I’m not so great with potions either,” he chuckled.

Nicky glanced at Cooper, then at Caleb.

"Yeah, he isn't so good at potions either," Nicky chuckled softly. "Which reminds me, please don't touch anything, love. We don't need anything breaking around here."

"Alright Caleb, let's make this Thunderbrew!"

~

Caleb groaned softly as he glanced at his new Slytherin friend.

"Can I stop stirring now? My arms are hurting!" Caleb whined.

Nicky looked up from the messy notepad Caleb had given him.

"You've only been stirring for 3 minutes.." he said before softly sighing. "But yeah, you can stop stirring. The brew should be completed."

Caleb's eyes lit up as a smile grew on his face. He stopped stirring and hovered his face over the pot.

"Thank you, lad! You don't know how much this means to me! I'm so glad I caught you in time! Plus, it only took like- what, twenty minutes?"

Nicky couldn't help but smile as he watched the kid beam with excitement.

"Uhm, yeah, no. That took us 45 minutes," he said, sharply before changing his tone, realizing how negative he sounded. "But who's counting! I'm glad I could help ya."

Cooper smiled through his blush as Nicky told him not to touch anything. His boyfriend was right, he probably shouldn’t touch anything otherwise he’d mess something up and something would go kaboom.

The brown haired Gryffindor boy smiled and nodded obediently, taking a step back so he wasn’t in the way of anything. Something undoubtedly would break or go wrong if Cooper was left unsupervised, like a little kid.

Cooper stood back and watched Nicky help Caleb brew the potion. He couldn’t help but smile as he admired his boyfriend. He seemed to love every little thing about Nicky. He was so patient, so kind and so loving. He practically swooned over his boyfriend from afar as Nicky assisted Caleb with the potion.

Eventually, after some time, Caleb, with Nicky’s help, had finally completed the potion. Cooper giggled as Nicky pointed out to Caleb that it in fact had taken 45 minutes, not 20 to brew the potion. He couldn’t help but grin seeing the happy and excited look on Caleb’s face. Nicky had done a really great thing here.

“Great job lads! You’ve done it!” Cooper said with a big smile as he clapped his hands, “Nice work!” he said.

Cooper was excited because now that this was out of the way and Nicky had successfully helped Caleb with the potion, they could get back to spending time together and enjoying their special day they had planned.

"And here's this before we go," Nicky held out a slip of paper with some neat notes written out. "Here's some neater instructions on how to store the brew to present to your professor."

"Thank you!" Caleb gratefully took the note and nodded with a cheesy, big smile.

"Don't mention it, lad," Nicky said as he walked over to Cooper and took him by the hand.

With that, the couple was now free to leave. Finally, they could now spend the rest of their day together, enjoying each other's company.

"Sorry that took so long.." Nicky said to Cooper with a soft and sweet tone as they walked down the empty hallway. "But, now that that's done, we can finally just spend type together."

Cooper smiled as Nicky came back to him. “It’s quite alright, love,” he said softly as he reached over to hold Nicky’s hand as they walked down the hallway.

“You did a good thing, you know that?” Cooper said as he looked at Nicky sweetly.

“But yes, now we can FINALLY enjoy our day together- as intended!” Cooper said happily.

Little did he know, he’d be wrong. There was one more distraction coming to put a halt to Nicky and Cooper’s Boyfriend Day plans.

"Yeah? Well, good things are hard to do then. I really didn't want to help that kid," he muttered. "But I'm glad I did.. He really needed my help."

Nicky chuckled as he looked at Cooper.

"He kinda reminded me of you. Though, he was completely clueless without being cute. That's your expertise."

“I’m very glad you did Nicky,” said Cooper with a sweet smile.

He then giggled as his boyfriend said that being cute was something he was a master of. “Oh stop it Nicky,” he laughed as they continued down the hall.

All seemed to be going well as the two boys walked and talked. That was until Cooper heard a painfully familiar voice. His eyes widened as his shoulders tensed up.

“Hey pip squeak!” spat the voice.

Cooper knew just exactly who this was. It was his older brother, 7th year Slytherin, Ryan Crosby. Cooper gulped nervously as he saw his brother approach him and Nicky, two of his Slytherin friends on either side of him.

“Just where do you think you’re going, tiny?” Ryan asked, smirking and crossing his arms as he stepped in front of Cooper, his two goons grinning evilly on each side of him.

“Ryan…” groaned Cooper, “What do you want?” he asked. “Leave us alone!” Cooper said.

Ryan just scoffed and smirked, poking Cooper in the chest. “Not until you repay your debts,” said the older Slytherin boy.

“What? What do you even mean?” Cooper asked, confused.

“Don’t play stupid baby bro, you know what I mean,” said Ryan, glaring at his younger brother.

“Ryan! What’s this all about?” Cooper asked, nervously taking a step back.

Ryan just smirked as he took a step forward to follow Cooper. His two goons did the same. “I happen to remember a certain Gryffindork losing a bet!” Ryan said.

Cooper’s eyes widened as he gulped, realizing what Ryan had meant. A while back, Ryan had bet that Cooper couldn’t beat Ravenclaw in a Quidditch match one week. Cooper obviously bet that he could and the loser would be forced to do something for the other brother. Little did he know Ryan didn’t plan on following through with his end of the deal but Ryan also didn’t expect to lose.

And luckily for Ryan, he had won the bet. The day of the Quidditch match came and Cooper and his Gryffindor team had lost a hard fight against Ravenclaw. Cooper was hoping his brother had forgotten, as it seemed like Ryan did since they hadn’t spoke in a while. But clearly and unfortunately, Ryan remembered.

“Oh Merlin…” muttered Cooper.

Nicky instantly rolled his eyes as Ryan and his idiotic friends appeared. Their stupidity was hard to bear.

"Perfect, just what we needed.." he muttered under his breath.

His interest peaked as Ryan began speaking about a certain bet that Cooper had made with him.

"A bet? Coop, what is he talking about?" Nicky asked as he glanced at his boyfriend. "Please don't tell me you made a stupid bet with this imbecile..."

Cooper looked over at Nicky with a guilty look on his face as he twiddled with his fingers nervously. He slowly nodded his head to confirm to Nicky that yes, he had made a bet with his older brother. Ryan just grinned maliciously.

“Now, correct me if I’m wrong,” began Ryan with a stupid grin. “But it seems that a certain Gryffindor team lost a Quidditch game against Ravenclaw thanks to their sorry excuse for a seeker!” he said.

Cooper just frowned as his brother insulted him. Ryan’s comments caused his two goons to laugh in support.

“You know the rules Cooper,” said Ryan, showing his teeth as he grinned menacingly.

“You’re the loser of the bet here, and a Crosby always keeps their word,” said Ryan.

Cooper just sighed and frowned, nodding. “Y- yea…” he stuttered softly.

“W- what are you gonna make me do?” Cooper asked nervously, at the mercy of his older brother.

“You’re gonna spend the rest of this evening cleaning my dorm room. I can’t be bothered to clean that bloody room- I’m much too busy winning Quidditch games and getting the best grades our family has ever seen,” boasted Ryan.

“Why don’t you make yourself useful and clean up the place, will ya? No using magic. I want that whole room sparkly clean Cooper, do you hear me?” Ryan demanded.

Cooper’s shoulders sunk as he nodded and frowned. “Ok Ryan…” he replied, softly and dejectedly.

He didn’t really plan on spending his evening cleaning his older brother’s dorm room. He much preferred to spend the day with his boyfriend Nicky.

“Oy, winning the bet doesn’t mean you can be an ass to him,” Nicky objected as he crossed his arms and frowned.

His gaze softened as he glanced at Cooper. The bet that he had made was stupid, but at least he was owning up to his loss. Ryan explained that Cooper would have to clean his dorm room (which Nicky assumed was ghastly) for the rest of the evening. It would take a while and Nicky already knew how much Cooper hated cleaning.

He sighed softly as he glanced back at Ryan.

“Fine, we’ll clean your dorm in less than an hour. We’ll have it looking better than when you clean it- which, I’m assuming is never. You always seem to lack the Crosby Family sense of class,” he said.

Ryan’s smirk wiped right off of his face as Nicky chimed in with his witty remarks. The older Crosby boy glared over at Nicky, staring daggers into him.

“Nobody asked for your opinion, four eyes,” spat Ryan.

The insult was a bit cliche and outdated, as Nicky preferred to no longer wear his glasses at this point. He wore them more when he was younger.

“Now c’mon,” said Ryan as he pushed past Cooper rudely, causing the younger Crosby to stumble a bit. “Follow me if you know what’s good for you,” said Ryan as one of his goons poked Cooper in the back to urge him on.

“Blondie over there can kick rocks for all I care,” said Ryan from over his shoulder, not caring where Nicky chose to go.

Cooper looked back at Nicky and frowned. His pleading brown eyes said that he wanted Nicky to follow him.

Nicky rolled his eyes once more at how immature Ryan was acting! He had such a punchable face. It made Nicky feel a bit better, remembering that he HAD punched that guy in the face before.

"Kicking rocks? That's what you do for entertainment, Ryan."

"Cooper got himself into this, but I'll help him out. I'll tag along," he said as he picked up his pace and walked next to Cooper as they followed behind Ryan and his friends.

"After all, play stupid games, win stupid prizes."

Ryan shrugged casually and smirked to hide his irritation at Nicky’s words back to him.

“Suit yourself nerd,” said Ryan. “Makes no difference to me what you choose to do with your sorry self.” he said.

“I do find it odd though that you’re so comfortable hanging out with a Gryffindor, especially one as wimpy and as lame as Cooper,” said Ryan with a stupid grin as they walked down the hall.

Of course, his goons laughed at this comment from Ryan as they walked close behind Cooper and Nicky. Cooper just remained silent as his brother insulted him yet again.

They soon arrived down in the dungeons where the Slytherin dorms were.

"Aww..didn't know you cared enough to pay attention about who I'm hanging out with! Does kicking rocks not entertain you anymore?" Nicky said in a mocking, sugary-sweet voice.

He slipped his hand with Cooper and glared back at Ryan.

"He's my boyfriend, idiot. Plus, it doesn't matter what house he's in! You should just be grateful he's loyal enough to do your bidding after losing that bet. We both know your word means nothing- in multiple senses."

What Nicky was saying was true. Ryan wasn't the best example when it came to loyalty or trustworthiness.

Ryan furrowed his brow and gritted his teeth angrily, glaring at Nicky outside of the entrance to the Slytherin dormitories.

“Put a sock in it. I’m tired of hearing your annoying voice,” was all Ryan could reply with as he stood in front of the painting that concealed the entry to the Slytherin dorms.

Cooper looked at Nicky, glad that his boyfriend was not ashamed of him and proud to be his friend and more importantly, his boyfriend.

Ryan rudely spat the password at the painting, and the painting moved aside, rolling its eyes at Ryan’s demanding tone.

“In,” commanded Ryan as he pointed inside to the Slytherin dorms.

Before Cooper could even go on his own will and take a step, he was shoved by one of Ryan’s goons, stupidly smirking as they did so.

Cooper just frowned and went into the Slytherin dorms, assuming Nicky would follow.

Nicky hated watching how terrible his older brother Ryan treated him. Why did he have so much hatred for the one person he was supposed to love? That wasn't how family was supposed to act. He was just wishing inside that their clean-up job wouldn't take so long. Though, Nicky already knew that he'd help his boyfriend out.

"Your negativity hasn't gotten any better since the last time you bothered us, Ryan," he said, with a satisfied grin.

"I'd prefer if you stop talking too. It makes me feel almost as if you're not here, bothering us entirely."

“Can it nerd,” spat Ryan, glaring at Nicky and not having anything much else left to say to him. Nicky was really starting to get on his nerves now but he didn’t want to show it.

Ryan and his goons then led Nicky and Cooper all the way to Ryan’s dorm room. Ryan unlocked the door and let the two inside. Cooper gulped nervously as he prepared to see the state his older brother’s room was in.

Ryan's room was a total catastrophe. The floors were covered in clothes tossed here and there. His bed was messy and his sheets were bunched up and wrinkled. Nicky didn't want to think about how much dust was hidden and clung to the drapes of the room. His nightstand was cluttered with all sorts of junk and his trashcan was overflowing with trash. It was almost as if Ryan purposely made his room this disgusting.

Nicky sighed as he pushed through the group to get a head start on looking around the place.

"We'll clean this crappy dorm so long as you leave us alone in the process. We don't need you here annoying us anymore," Nicky bargained.

Ryan smirked as he opened the door to his room. Had he made his room messy on purpose to make his brother’s job harder? Yes he most definitely had. But Nicky and Cooper didn’t need to know that.

“Fine by me. I wasn’t planning on sticking around here with you two losers anyways,” said Ryan, shrugging causally.

“Happy cleaning!” Ryan grinned as his two goons laughed with him and exited the room, closing the door behind them.

That left just Nicky and Cooper alone in Ryan’s dorm room. Cooper sighed and frowned.

“Oh dear, we’ve really got our work cut out for us Nicky…” said a worried Cooper as he looked around his brother’s messy room.

Nicky rolled his eyes once more as Ryan just had to make a dramatic exit. He was so annoying.

"We do have our work cut out for us..BUT..it'll be okay," Nicky tried to reassure his boyfriend.

"Let's start then, shall we? I'll pick up all the trash. We can put the bags of trash by the door for Ryan to take out. Also, we should pile all the dirty laundry. Do you know if he has a laundry basket? We can put his dirty sheets and pillowcase there too," he added. It seemed like Nicky was getting pretty strategic with all this cleaning stuff.

Cooper nodded, feeling a little more at ease with Nicky’s calmness and strategic planning.

“Erm yes, I’m pretty sure he’s got a laundry basket. Mum packed us both with one,” he told Nicky.

“Yuck, this place is a mess,” said Cooper, scrunching up his face and looking around the room.

“How could someone live like this? He’s never this messy at home!” Cooper said.

He then looked around for a laundry basket, finding it in the corner of the room and picking it up, taking it to Nicky.

"He probably made his room a mess like this on purpose..I can't think of a time where Ryan was ever nice to you, Coop." Nicky said as he kneeled down on the ground and began cleaning up the trash that was piled around the trashcan.

Once the trashcan was emptied, Nicky walked around the room and scanned for all the bits of trash that were scattered about. He then tied the trash bag and left it by the dorm door. The Slytherin boy then went around picking up all the dirty socks and t-shirts that were thrown onto the floor.

"Gosh..he's such a slob."

Cooper frowned, “You think so?” he asked sadly. He had t even thought of the possibility that his brother would’ve purposely left his room this messy for him.

He sighed as he began to pick up all of Ryan’s dirty clothes on the floor, putting them into the laundry basket. Cooper then looked at Nicky, frowning, seeing him picking up all of the dirty clothes too.

“Aww Nicky, y- you know you don’t need to help me clean this all up. Besides, this is my punishment. I lost the bet that I was stupid enough to take,” said Cooper.

“Stop it. Don’t call yourself stupid. You’re not stupid and I already hate that Ryan calls you that,” he said as he paused what he was doing and glanced over at his boyfriend.

“I know I don’t need to help you, but I want to. The bet was dumb but that doesn’t mean I’ll just leave you hanging.”

He then walked over to Cooper and hugged him softly.

“I’m here for you, okay? The faster we finish this, the faster we can just focus on us and celebrate the day together.”
