Realistic or Modern Hellscape

ALSO third little update here, I'm going to have one more character I'm going to put up and then Friday (most likely) I'll have the first post up and we will start


Also is anyone else playing as a SCAB? Or interested in making one?

Can you elaborate on SCABs a bit more, I read the thing about them but wasn't entirely sure of the like.. pro/cons, y'know?

thought we were automatically SCABS whoops! I can be one though :)

So SCABS are people who have survived the anti-serum and have scarring on their faces, as well as their body, and light cloudy eyes. Their vision isn't always the best and they experience memory loss up to a week before the bite occurred. The people who return from the classified lab are hairless and disorientated, but the hair grows back after a while it just takes way longer so most SCABS decide to just be bald instead of dealing with the hair growing in patches. They are outcasts from usual society within homebase. While they might have been important to operation before the bite, now they are treated with distance and disdain. Also whereever they were bitten, the procedure left them with a chunk of skin missing, the remaining skin ugly and twisted with scars. In short you are a human who came back after undeath. It only works for people who have been newly bitten though, if you've been infected long enough you are immune to the antiserum.

Hopefully this is everyone so far. I just want to make it clear that these positions don't make your characters stationary they are more than welcome to leave the walls of Home Base as long as they are accompanied by a Runner. If you have any question or want to request a specific position (new position etc) feel free to tell me.


I wasn't sure if anyone wanted to be placed in the labs, but again these areas don't restrict your characters they are purely there so you have a 'job'.
So I have a couple inquiries regarding the occupations:

  • How many occupations are there?
  • Can you go more in-depth about the runners?
  • Why is more beneficial to be escorted by a runner? Is it the ideal that they carry more information about the outside world? Or are they more inept in handling the undead then non-runners / lab, because they're trained in combat and firearms?
  • What dictates the job people are given when they arrive at the 'Home Base'? Their background? What if they're liars? Considering they have no proper source or proof of who they really are.
  • Are there going to be antagonists aside from the undead?

My main question is when is this RP starting because near final weeks my activities ganna dip. (But I'll probably post 1 per week)
 
  • Labs- Basically a scientist or someone who handles the observations /care of animal 'experiments'. Runner, Botanist, Combat instructors- based on your fighting specialization, Clinic- Doctors/Nurses, Mechanic, Immunologist. (possibly any other, like I said the occupations are really just your character's contribution to Home Base)
  • Runners are people who have the skills to navigate the outside world in small groups or solo, usually for the purpose of collecting much needed supplies in cities or towns. They can be gone for days at a time and are adept at fighting or slipping past hordes as quickly/quietly as possible. They are basically the scavengers that keep Home Base afloat.
  • It's more beneficial because Runners have been trained to navigate the outside world's dangers/ know the safest areas. Some carry more info on the outside world (like Kent) while others are just better fighters (like Mahala) and may make up for the lack of fighting skills of another person. i.e Bodyguards.
  • Their background would dictate their job as well as what they are good at doing (I tried my best based of the CS's which is why I'm more than happy to change things). If they are lairs then....that might end up getting them killed? That's a good question I actually did not think about that one. Home Base is set up in a way that everyone contributes in order to keep things running smoothly. I was thinking that when it was first established there were rules set in place that if you didn't pitch in you were kicked out...but that is a very very good point.
  • Yeeeeees. There's some shady stuff going on in Home Base which will be found out as the RP progresses. I don't want to ruin the plot-line but the undead are not the only things that our characters will have to worry about.

My Finals are also approaching, so 1 per week is fine. The RP probably will not begin until next week. I want to give a few other people a chance to make characters, preferably a couple more Scabs and female characters

True. Maybe we should all discuss relationships a bit. Emilio is a socialite so its plausible that he'd know most of the OCs.

For Hazel's character, I wouldn't mind discussing some ideas in PM, same goes for Emilio's character, where they could have already an established relationship.
