Fantasy Hawthorne Academy

~Professor Crysta Chime~

Crysta nodded in his general direction, and spun around to make him a cup of tea. She poured to hot water and dipped the tea in to steep. This boy had a strange sense about him...she could tell that once his aura was quite strong, but had weakened over the years. Why? She could quite tell...but she knew that he'd probably benefit greatly from her class.

The teacher never really minded when he students would skip class...she could always teach them what they missed. There was only one student who failed Meditation and Focus while Crysta was the teacher, and it had happened just last year.

That wasn't a good year...

As she fixed his tea, easily sensing his preferences on how to make it, the walked over to the boy and handed it to him.

"Please, take a seat." she smiled, gesturing to one of the many bamboo mats on the floor.

Emily silently walked down the hall towards her meditation class. She knew she was really late, but she didn't care. She had never been really punctual and were often late, not out of laziness, but out of no intrest in getting there in time. When Emily reached the classroom, she opened the door and walked inside, still silent, and looked around a little bit.

Geno leaned away from the girl who suddenly attacked him with chocolate. He sighed and put the book down in his lap. "Now, what ARE you doing?" He said, looking at her, raising an eyebrow. "I'm Geno, and I'd prefer it if you called me that, instead of "Whoever you are"." He raised a hand to block the offered chocolate. He had nothing against candy in itself, but chocolate wasn't his thing. Actually, he didn't really think eating anything but jelly beans was worth it, and licorice was the absolutely worst thing he knew.

Nichole blinked and said"ok geno. I was just trying to cheer you up.s-sorry." She looked away nibbling on her chocolate. "Y-you looked kinda down s-so.." Nichole stuttered out shrinking into the bench. She looked down and bit into her chocolate again going quiet. "S-sorry for bothering you."

What? Why did she get so sad all of a sudden? One second ago she was on top of the world? Geno shook his head. Sometimes he didn't understand people, but he felt a little guilty for bringing her down. "It's.. It's fine... And I'm not down, I was reading this... Crazy confusing book on otherworldly history, and I get pretty focused." He glanced over at the girl, wondering what could possibly have possessed her to come over to him. "I didn't catch your name by the way."

Nichole said"i-im Nichole. Sorry for bothering you." She sighed and thought making a flower out of water with incredible detail. Nichole froze it and she ate pocky. She looked at geno while holding her flower. "Hey geno? " she asked looking at him.

Emma blinked and was surprised at his reaction. He was interested obviously. Most people would go 'scream and yell that she's a cursed woman'. Not many -None actually- actually thought it was facinating. "..Well thats a surprise..No one has ever said that they were facinating." she held her blindfold tightly "These are my cursed eyes..ever since I was a child. These never went away."

"I see." Geno went back to his book, and started a chapter on basic physics, thinking that she was now done with the conversation. Something nagged at him in the back of his mind though, he just couldn't figure out what.... Wait, was she one of those girls he was paired up with? "Oh wait, you said you're Nichole? Is that by any chance Nichole Kud-" He was interrupted by "Hey Geno?" and looked at the girl holding a flower made out of ice in her hands. "... Yeah, what's up?"

Nichole said"why are you kinda distant?" My name is Nichole kudo." She said tilting her head. Nichole finished hee chocolate and said"want something to eat?" Looking through her satchel for her lunch box. She held the rose and said"here." Giving it to him. She blushed a small small bit. "Its a flower of ice for friendship."

Umbra took the tea from her and sook a sip. He felt the wonderful warmth of the tea rush over his whole body, making him feel nice and comfortable. He turned to a bamboo mat and let out a little nose laugh, as he sat down criss cross apple sauce on the bamboo mat, liking the novelty of it. As he sat down he turned to see a girl enter the class and sit down, not saying word. Umbra just sat content with the warmth of the tea he had. He could get used to this.

Of ~Professor Liam DiFranco~

Liam smiled and shook his head at her words, saying, "Dear, I hardly think it's a curse...your eyes are unique, yes...but at Hawthorne, we support...no, encourage, people who are unique. Look around you, Emma! Everyone here is different and strange; of course, not many of them have an appearance quite like yours, but I hardly think people will judge you or scream."

He smiled slightly and crossed his arms, leaning back slightly in his chair.

"You remind me so of Crysta...as you might know, she was born blind. Personally, I've never seen her eyes since she only takes off her blindfold when she meditates, so I can't tell you whether or not they're as unique as hers...anyway, Crysta was in my class. It was a long time ago, when I was 29, and she was 16."

Liam smiled at the memory, and looked back at Emma.

"I remember the very first day of school when she walked into my classroom...I wasn't alerted of this." he laughed. "So I started to create some Braille notes for her to read. I got a little carried away, and she..."

Liam snickered.

"She slapped a piece of tape over my mouth." he laughed, shaking his head. "From that day on, I almost viewed her as my own daughter. I sat with her for hours, teaching her when the class was long gone and making sure she understood."

Liam then narrowed his eyes, and grew quiet for a moment.

"Of course, there were a handful of people who picked on her. Teased her and pulled cruel pranks. They called her names...horrible names. Every time they would, she'd just smile. I asked her why she did this, and why she didn't just punch them square in the face...you want to know what she told me?"

Liam closed his eyes and repeated what Crysta had told him.

"Because they are not bad. They are human. I sense each of them have problems in their lives, and they have chosen me as their outlet. I am honored that I can help them in such a way."

~Professor Crysta Chime~

Crysta took a seat on her mat, facing Umbra. She was about to explain what had happened in class when another girl walked in. Crysta sighed, but smiled. She turned towards the girl, adjusting her blindfold as she did, and said, "It's very unfortunate you were unable to attend class today; but I am about to go over what happened into today's lesson if you would care to listen, Emily."

Crysta did it again. The creepy
I-can-sense-what-your-name-is thing.

"Would you care for a cup of tea?" she asked the girl, standing up again. She looked towards Umbra and said, "One moment."

((Forgive this short post
xD ))

"Uh, yeah, sure" Emily said while looking at the teacher. She slowly walked over to an empty mat and sat down with her legs crossed. The feeling she got when she sat down was calming and relaxing. A feeling she usually never felt. Emily smiled a very small smile and stroke a hand through her long pink hair.

Emma blinked, listening to him talk. Knowing that he was supporting his student rather then make them feel bad. He did have a point about everyone being different here. But that still didnt change her view on people. Human or not, she never wanted anyone to see her eyes. Only her parents were allowed to see. No one else. He then went onto a woman who tought at the school and said how she was born blind. This made Emma feel bad for the woman. Being born blind..it must have been horrible..But a small laugh escaped her lips as she heard her professor say that she slapped a piece of tape over his mouth.

And thats when he went into a minefield...Bullying. As he was telling her, she compared the bullies and everything, but the one difference was that the woman knew what was wrong. Unlike emma. Then, came the saying that Crysta had told him "..Even so...even if they're human or not..it doesnt make them any different. They're bullies. Point blank." she put her blindfold back on and made sure she tied it on right. "Thank you though..for making me feel like i'm not alone."

He accepted the flower, and out of habit bowed. "Thanks..." He thought about how corny it was, but held himself from pointing it out or dropping a sarcastic comment, as he didn't think the girl would approve. He'd gotten sidetracked by the gesture, but now he fell right back into reality and turned back to her again. "Yeah, that's what I thought. You're on my collaboration team." He tried to think of something corny to say back to her, as strengthening their relationship probably would help the collaboration, but he had a hard time taking himself seriously. He sighed and looked at the flower. "A flower made of ice. Such a fleeting beauty. I bet there's a deep poetic meaning to all this, but I'm not man enough to find it."

He leaned back and observed every detail. A smile spread across his face as he thought he'd thought of the perfect thing. He slowly covered the entire sakura flower in his metal, and froze it covering every detail. "Nothing that can't be made permanent." He produced a small hooking part on it, and stuck it on his shirt. His smile grew slightly warmer when he came up with another idea. He put his hand together and closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened his hands again a small metal rose laid there. He offered it to Nichole. "You're not the only one with artistic interests. And thank, you, but I'm not hungry." He said, with an excusing smile.

Nichole said"its beautiful thank you." Smiling and held it close. She then blinked as a bird landed on her shoulder. Then a cute little squirrel. Nichole giggled and petted them. "Hi you two."giving the squirrel a peanut and the bird some sunflower seeds. "Nice to see you again." They nuzzled under her chin and Nichole giggled. "Bye chi, bye sora!"as they went their separate ways. Nichole loved animals.

Geno looked at the birds as they flew off, and was reminded of his childhood. Eugh. "Err.. Well, since you're on my team, I'd like to know a bit more about your power... Is it just freezing things, do you control water, do you control temperatures.... Or do you just make frozen flowers?" He joked. "Myself, I can produce and control this.." And he created a tiny spike of metal from his palm.

Nichole said"nope I control water I can freeze it at will. I just wish I could've helped nee-chan." She shook her head hitting her cheeks. "No you must always smile. Always stay positive! "

"... Your sister?" A little japanese was still fresh in memory, thankfully. "What.." He considered not asking, but he did kinda want to know at least a few things with whomever he was going to work together with for the next year. "What happened to your sister? If you don't mind me asking.."

Nichole said"s-she died in a fire..." looking down tears brimming her eyes. "Hic its all my fault!" Nichole then started to tell him the story of what happened and cried more. Nichole sniffled and tried to calm down because of her asthma.

"Oh.. I'm sorry.." He wasn't sure how to react. He'd never lost anyone important to him, so he had a hard time relating. "Oi, oi, calm down. You sound like you're dying, and I can't say that's what I want to happen the first time I meet you!" He checked through his pockets, and eventually found his red cloth napkin. It was embroided with all sorts of markings, and made of expensive fabrics, and everyone in his family had one just like it. He really didn't like it, he felt like a child having to carry it around, but even he felt it was too expensive just to throw away. He offered her it, and said "Here, take this." @twilight sparkle

QUICK ANNOUNCEMENT!

Hawthorne Academy is open to NEW MEMBERS, but for a limited time only!

Also, check out the new spoiler titled "Hawthorne Academy Fanart" in the Roleplay Overview! I'll be updating it frequently with new pictures!

After about fifteen minutes of laying down on her bed, she decided she would do something instead of be lazy. She rolled off her bed, pulled her baggage out from under her bed and took her gladius and whip out of the bag. She shoved her bags back under the bed, holding her coiled whip in her left hand and her sheathed gladius in her right hand. She left the room, shutting the door behind her, then went to the training hall. Isn't there a sparring club? If there is, maybe I won't be wasting my time, Maria thought.

~Professor Liam DiFranco~

Liam nodded at Emma, and said, "Well, of course you're not alone...I strongly suggest you go speak with Crysta when you get the spare moment. This is why Hawthorne doesn't have a Student Councillor, the teachers will talk to any student who needs someone to talk to...though..."

Liam stuck out his bottom lip and shot up from his chair, turning away from the girl dramatically while holding a fist to his chest.

"Though I never get to talk to the students! They think I...I...talk too much!"

Thankfully, Liam's little "moment" didn't last long, as just a few seconds later, he turned back toward the girl and said, "But for now, why don't you enjoy your free-time?"

Liam walked across the room and to his desk, the only place in the entire office that was in disarray. Papers full of ideas for essays he could have the students write, more spreadsheets, extra credit assignments...! It was beautiful!

~Professor Crysta Chime~

Crysta expertly prepared the tea for Emily, her head straight forward as she did. Why should she have to look down? She couldn't see what she was doing anyway.

"Hot water, tea-bag...milk? Yes...how much sugar...? One...two...three cubes!" the professor said aloud as she prepared the tea, once again sensing how the girl would like it. This was a very useful part of her power, in Crysta's opinion. She'd never have to deal with someone not liking her tea or wasting time talking about it.

Crysta gave the beverage a quick stir, and placed the delicate tea-cup on it's matching saucer. Turning around, drink in hand, the Professor approached Emily. Handing her the drink, she said, "I hope you enjoy it!"

Sitting back down at her own mat, the teacher began giving a basic explanation of the lesson.

"Most of my students were interacting with eachother moments before they thought my class was starting, whether they were making conversation, touching eachother psychically, or connecting with eachother spiritually. Both of you may not know what connecting spiritually with someone is...but that's fine. That's why you're taking this class." she smiled, repeating almost word-for-word what she had told the class. "Connecting spiritually is when you look at someone, and you catch a glimpse of their aura. Just a glimpse. All of you have probably done this at a point, when you look at someone and think, 'that person looks nice' or 'that's someone I want to stay clear of''. That's because you saw their aura. If you can't tell anything about the person, they have a very shy aura, that hides and won't let anyone see it. Those are the people who you have to get close to and talk to, and usually, the aura pops right out. Of course, some people's auras can be deceiving. So it really is best to go talk to the person to find out if you were right about them. Most of the class thought I was weird and strange...that's because my aura is, indeed, weird and strange. So most of them actually connected with me spiritually."

"There is so much more to Meditation and Focus besides auras, that's just a fraction of a fraction of what this class is about...and there is still so much about auras, I could go on forever. Whether or not a person's aura is shy has nothing to do with the person's personality. The shyness of an aura is solely determined by one's spiritual power. Through meditation, you can get more in touch with your spiritual side, thus making your aura stronger. The stronger your aura, the less shy it will be."

"When one has a strong aura, it strengthens their power as well. Having a strong aura is what enables someone to search deeper into their soul, unlocking more and more of their ability as time passes. I've been on this earth for many years, and still most of my power remains hidden within the depths of my soul. So imagine; if you are this strong now, imagine how much stronger you will be once you get in touch with your spiritual side."

Crysta smiled, and said, "And that's when the bell rang and you two came in!"

~Headmistress Kinya Weatherstone~

Kinya tossed her choppy, white hair over a shoulder as she read, her eyes darting back and forth across the page for only a few moments before turning the page. She had always been a fast reader, ever since she was a little girl...Kinya remembered her parents finding it so amusing how she would just sit there, flipping through books like they were nothing. Kinya smiled under her mask, remembering the days when she didn't have to wear it. Then she frowned, remembering what had happened so long ago that forced her to.

Flipping the page again, Kinya froze. She'd been looking at the words, but was so deep in thought, she had no idea what she had just read. Sighing, the Headmistress flipped back to the page she was on and read.

Most curses are cast by people who already possess a power. Of course, it's very difficult to do unless they are in deep contact with their Spiritual Side, allowing them to find it within their power to cast a curse. (read more about the Spiritual Side of Dark Magic on page 235.)

Even though this is the most common way to curse someone, it is possible for normal humans to cast one them as well. It is very difficult, nearly impossible. The human must be absolutely consumed with hatred for the person/people he is cursing. Once consumed with such hatred, he will receive an...offer, of some sort. Nobody knows who gives this offer or how the exchange ensues, but the human will sell their humanity to this strange force and will be left with no other emotion except hate. In exchange for these emotions, this dark force will allow the human to bestow a curse on whomever he wishes...

Kinya snapped the book shut upon hearing a quiet voice from outside the room.

"M-Ms Weatherstone? You've been in there for a long time...are you--" the voice said. It was quiet and timid, and Kinya didn't immediately recognize it as one of the librarians.

"Uh, yes! I'm fine...I just...um..." she stuttered, interrupting the voice and quickly stowing the book away in her bag. "I'm finished in here, don't worry!"

Seconds later, the Headmistress popped out of the room, locked in, and then dropped the key into the librarian's hand. She was tiny for a 32 year old, and looked more like one of the students than a librarian.

"Thank you...make sure that key stays safe!" Kinya said awkwardly, starting down the many flights of stairs.

This is it. This could be what happened to Veronica! I hope...

"AHH!" the Headmistress gasped, almost running straight into Xavier as they both turned the corner of the stairs.

~Professor Xavier Caige/Headmistress Kinya Weatherstone~

Xavier's arm shot out, catching Kinya before she fell. His heart felt like it was going to explode as he said, his voice awkwardly cracking, "You scared the absolute HELL out of me!"

Both of the adults took a minute to catch their breaths and regain their composure, before Kinya finally said, her sternness returning, "What are you even doing here? Since when do you do anything besides sleep after class?"

Xavier smirked and poked Kinya in the ribs, making her flinch away violently like she always would. Xavier laughed and said, "So I'm not allowed to see my favorite person anymore?"

The Headmistress's eyes twitched as she slowly turned her head towards him. What was his deal today?

"You're an idiot." she sighed, shaking her head as she started back down the stairs. Of course, Xavier followed her like a little puppy.

"Hey!" he huffed, walking slightly behind her.

"Why are you following me? Weren't you going upstairs?" she asked, not looking back at him. Xavier shrugged and said, "I was asking for the key to the restricted area and they said you already took it. So I want it."

Kinya sighed and replied, "I don't have it. I gave it to the librarian upstairs--"

And then it hit her. She stopped walking and turned towards him, raising an eyebrow.

"Why do
you want to go in there?" she asked, crossing her arms.

"Why were you in there?" he retorted, his smug expression making Kinya want to push him down the stairs. The Headmistress looked away, thought for a moment, and then said, "I don't have to answer that."

"Then neither do I."

Kinya felt her eye twitch again as she started back down the stairs again, saying, "You're so immature."

Xavier laughed, and he continued to follow her.

"What do you want? I already told you I gave the key to the librarian upstairs." Kinya said, getting annoyed with the Professor. He always had a way of getting under her skin, which was strange because nobody else really could.

Xavier shrugged and said, "I was going to see if we had any dirty books to read, but this is much better."

It was moments like this that Kinya was glad she had to wear her mask, since it covered up her blushing cheeks very well. She knew he was joking, but she wouldn't press for what he was really going to do.

"Right. Well, that room is only full of Dark Magic books. If you want that kind of thing, go to the gas-station in town." she said, as they finally reached the main floor of the library. It was still empty, despite class just getting out. The students were probably asking their teachers questions, sleeping, or doing their homework.

Suddenly, the Headmistress felt Xavier's hand wrap around her wrist and pull her way to close for comfort. He snaked an arm around her waist, and it almost appeared as if the two were dancing.

"Your so mean to me." he said quietly with a slight smile. "If you weren't wearing that mask I'd--ARRRRRRRRRRRHGHHGHGHHGHGHHG!"

Kinya's knee, now lodged between Xavier's legs, earned a very satisfying shriek from the man. As she dropped it, so did Xavier.

"YOU HAG FROM HELL!" he cried. "I WAS TRYING TO BE ROMANTIC!"

Kinya, now the one smirking at him, placed a foot on the man's stomach, earning another groan.

"Well, you tried. You failed. Sheesh, don't you ever learn?" she smiled, crossing her arms and looking down at him. She added some pressure with her foot, making the grown man squeal. "Maybe if you'd tried that about seven years ago...oh well."

She turned, walking passed the horrified librarians, and strode out the door, leaving Xavier whimpering behind her. He managed to sit up slightly, and mumbled, "I won't fail next time, Kinya..."

He coiled his fists and yelled, "I WILL MAKE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH MEEEEEEE!"

~Nurse Elsa Longstorm~

Elsa sat down at her desk once again after the librarian had left, getting back to sorting out files and approving medications prescriptions. She couldn't help but let her mind wander back to the man who had been at her door only minutes before, offering her a rose and obviously trying to make her melt with his sweet-talking. Her was shameless, definitely...but he was cute, at least.

Suddenly, he strode back into her office. She opened her mouth to ask him what he wanted this time, but instead, he offered her a compliment...and then walked away?

He didn't even stay to see her reaction! It was the strangest thing!

Elsa had never really though about her eyes...she didn't really notice her appearance until she started working as a nurse. She'd always been the frumpy, unattractive kid while she was in school...thankfully she got the motivation to lose some weight, clear up her skin, and learn to apply a bit...well, a lot of makeup before she became a nurse.

"Wait up!" Elsa sat, standing and running after the boy. "Why'd you just walk away? Aren't you going to keep on trying to flirt with me?"

Emma smiled alittle "Thanks, Professor.." she headed for the door "And I'll definately enjoy my freetime." she walked out of the door and out of his room. She remembered what the hallway looked like so she had no problem getting around. She heard faint giggles and chuckles from not to far but she thought maybe it was just some random girls and guys talking about something like they always do. But thats when she felt it, someone was appoaching her and by the way it was feeling, it was coming right at her, quickly, Emma moved, only to feel someone else but it was too late to move. So far, there was more then one person. Maybe...4? Thats what it felt like. Feeling the wall, she backed up into a corner and she cursed under her breath.

"So you're the girl we heard about with the blindfold, hm? Is it true?"

Emma's eyes narrowed from under her blindfold "Is what true?"

"That you have cursed eyes. or is that a lie?" a guy spoke, but the voices didnt sound familiar to her at all

"Why dont we find out?" the other guy said, chuckling as he reached out to pull her blindfold off, only to have his hand slapped

"Dont you dare touch me!"

"What, so your cursed eyes are a fake? If they were so cursed, then maybe you would let us see?"

"Hold her, i'll get it off." she smirked, watching as her boyfriend held onto emma and she took the blindfold off while emma was squirming.

Emma squirmed in the guy's arms, trying to keep the girl from taking off her blindfold. But it didnt work. So what she did was squeeze her eyes shut as she elbowed the one guy in the gut "Give that back!" she yelled, trying to get her blindfold back. But only failing as she was backed up into the corner again, the teens trying to force her eyes open

@DeijiiChan

Kouji leaned on the wall and said"we'll I thought you would like me not to flirt with you and give you some space. Isnt that what you wanted elsa?" He then cleaned off his reading glasses and looked up from his book. "Do you need anything elsa?" He smiled a kind warm smile. His blonde hair shone like a halo on his head from the way the sun hit him. His blue eyes as bright as the blue ocean. Kouji chuckled and got off the wall.
