The ride to the party was honestly hilarious. She always enjoyed Everett's company , and with Jordy and the others it was the cherry on top. She almst wished she'd made plans to just ride back with them, but knowing Everett it was probably for the best she uber back with her friend Kat. Plus she didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea about them considering they were still ex's just on really good terms. Like he still compliments her on her Insta good, but will talk to her about other girls he likes too.

She'd somehow strayed from them though once they arrived, and found other people to casually talk to in the kitchen. She was originally looking for a snack, but this was nice. Getting out of her comfort zone, and just mingling with her peers. It was...nice. However she was hoping that she'd see one person specifically tonight. He did say he'd be a bit late since well he was in the game, and picking up drinks. The last things she wanted was to look desperate and lonely when he showed up, so she patiently just hung around random friends in the mean time. She hoped that at the very least Kat would get here soon after reading her text.

Due to the loudness of the music, and all the chatter she didn't notice him approach her until he was already next to her. She turned when she felt the presence of someone close, and her smile instantly brightened when she noticed it was Micha. "Hey!" She chimed cheerfully. She didn't wanna be rude and turn her back to the people she was talking to, but their was a clear shift in her body language and position now that he was there. Let's just say Amy has never been good at keeping her crushes a secret except apparently to the guys she's crushing on. Her friends took the hint and casually just shifted the conversation, to give her a semblance of privacy.

‘If you’re up for it, can always wait’ She laughed. He was teasing her right? Well, she was going to tease him right back “It will have to wait, of course, I don’t have paper.” She stated “But my favourite colour is green. And since you’ve always been curious, keep that one, and figure it out sometime. I Can always wait. She retorted, light-heartedly as she gestured towards his navy-blue crane. Along with whatever he thought of that response the conversation naturally moved on to the topic of discussion she had expected to come up sooner rather than later: her attire. Eloquently put, as per usual, Tavon asked her ‘what her getup was for’. What was it for? She contemplated how best to put it. He didn’t seem to be vexed by it, in fact he still maintained his amicable expression.

He continued, stating that it was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Surprise flickered across her face momentarily before being replaced by understanding. It seemed her costume even made Tav notice her in a slightly different way. They had arrived now, so May found herself with another few moments to consider her answer as they both exited the vehicle. The lake was as beautiful as ever, though only the other perimeter of the gently rippling water was lit by the warm glow of the streetlights and lanterns, as well as the lights of the small boats anchored here and there. She loved how it sounded out here. The gently lapping water was uniform enough to be relaxing but not so much that it was too repetitive. Accompanying it was the singing of the crickets and the rustling of the trees. Her joy was clearly shown in her eyes as they focused on the natural scene around them. As much as she wished she could still be with her own family, she had to admit, the place she had ended up was absolutely stunning.

Feeling his stare, she realised she had yet to give Tavon an answer to his question. “I suppose it’s like a costume” She landed on finally. She sometimes did feel like an alien in disguise, barely passing for human. The ‘costume’ was for the party, but specifically to fit in more with a certain old friend of hers. She had been rapidly making changes in the short time Jordyn had been here. Jordyn had really brought her back in time. She had felt herself ruminating more, she had become more self conscious, she felt less comfortable in her own skin as she tried to distance herself from that memory. “I mean, as far as I have gathered over the years, when someone has an aggregable appearance that is pleasant or at least not jarring…various abnormalities are… overlooked a little bit more readily.” She continued after a beat and then shrugged “Given the way you reacted I assume I did a good job” She stated. It sounded like it should be a teasing joke, but May said it quite matter-of-factly.

“I suppose that’s my guardians influence peeking through...” She said, looking a little glum about the realisation. They were always dressing her up if she was meeting their friends. She shook her head, as if trying to physically shake away the can of worms she’d open in her own head with that train of thought. THIS was different than that, though. This was her choice. She had been careful with the fabric, she had cut off the tags, she made sure nothing was too tight fitting. No this was not the same as being forced into those awful dresses and tights as a child to be paraded in front of adults who belittled her and talked over her.

Realizing she’d been lost in thought she decided to change the topic “Before you get me talking about myself too much...” She said with a chuckle “…tell me more about your life growing up?” She wanted to get to know him better. She wanted to learn something new about her friend. He was good at getting her waffling on, mostly because she felt safe to do so around him. She didn’t want to get into a discussion about her Guardians or her stupid unrequited crush on Jordyn, or their history together.

The clock was almost ticking 5:00 AM when some people left and the room was now the opposite of how it was tonight. Busy, crowded and loud. His neighbors were very dissapointed by the announcement of the party or about the fact that he never actually announced it to them.
His parents were out of town, California or some shit and the only person who bothered him tonight was his stepsister Diamond.
Her fucking shoes, Bentley probably went down the stairs 24 times and those weren't very small stairs. He kept grabbing the wrong ones.
Luckily, there was something invented for that as he went on to do a big line of the white substance in front of him.

He tried moving the party to another room but the people here were either too drunk to move or making out right in front of him. Gross, where was Dahlia?
Bentley kept texting Lia all night but she was too busy doing whatever the fuck she was doing with her new boyfriend. It pissed him off, Byron was never meant to be her boyfriend in the first place though she didn't seem to share that opinion.
Even though Byron was her boyfriend, Byron often leave home and Lia would still be around. They could talk for hours and for Bentley, that was pretty rare with a girl. Most of the time they'd just kiss.

Bentley pushed himself through some people to the backyard, his backyard was big. More like a garden. They had a big pool and little waterfalls made of marble. Bentley had not swam in the pool since he was like twelve so it was easy for him to forget he had it.
There were two people by the pool, one idiot from his team that was passed out on one of the loungers and on the other one was a girl he recognized. Samantha, was it? She looked hot and seemed pretty familiar but he wasn't sure to put his finger on why and how.
'Sam, right?' He came to sit next to her on the loungers, would this mean he'd still get laid tonight? He was sort of hoping Lia would find out, he wanted to make her jealous and there was no better way than with the girl sitting right in front of him. She looked innocent but he knew he was probably mistaking if she was still around. 'You look like you're going to write in your diary about how this party was,' he added jokingly with a bit of a smirk, proud of his own joke. 'I'm Bentley,' he put his hand out. 'The host, actually,' he bragged quickly after.
Bentley fished a half-wet package of cigarettes out of his pocket, a drink spilled all over it so the sompy cigarette was a bit hard to light but he managed. 'You want one?'

Felix

Jordy sighed as she tried to reach Everest, but once more, she got his voicemail. She wiggled her nose nervously as she glanced in Felix's direction.
"Hey Everest, having a hard time reaching you buddy. I'm gonna head over to Cost Cutters with Felix then head over to the party, I'll see you later I guess..."
She ended the call and stepped closer to Felix.
"Mhm~ So he still unreachable..."
she frowned as one of the excited fans shoved her as they walked by, She linked her arms with Felix as she tried not to get separated from him like they did with Everest. She still didn't understand how people could get so rowdy over a game. Especially at the end of the game, people are mad about the home team losing and rival school flaunting their school colors because they won.

"Oh shoot sorry. Hope you don't mind"
She mumbled as she looked uncomfortably around at the crowd.
"Don't want to get separated... How about we get closer to the road so the Uber driver can see us more clearly."
She felt a little awkward about the situation that she was in after she remembered that she just met less than a couple of hours ago, and barely spoke to him. Especially since Everest did most of the talking for all three of them. She heard beeping as they got closer to the road,
"I guess that our Uber is already here..."
She smiled as she opened the car door,
"After you!"
She said to let him enter the Uber first before she entered as well.

She hummed to herself as she scrolled through Tiktok hoping that she didn't look as nervous as she felt being alone with someone who was pretty much a stranger to her. She looked out the car window when the driver said that they had arrived, Jordy couldn't help the puff of air that she let out as she looked at the store and couldn't help but think that she truly was no longer in Los Angeles. The local market reminded her of the mom and pop stores of some of the neighborhoods she stayed in when she was cycling through different foster homes, absolutely nothing like the bright and big super markets thats she used to going to back home.

She smiled at the driver sweetly,
"Sir we'll be right back, is alright if you have your truck open for when we get back?"
Jordy quickly thanked the driver when he said he would keep it open for them as she hopped out of the Uber. Jordy walked with Felix into the before turning to him,
"I'm gonna grab some snacks, I'll meet you in the liquor aisle!"
She said before grabbing one of the baskets and heading over to the candy aisle, She quickly grabbed some milk chocolate hershey bars, some toblerones, some reeses, and a bag of dark chocolate pretzel bark. Satisified with her choices of chocolate, Jordy than grabbed two bags of marshmallows and than to left to scour the aisles for graham crackers, which she found in the same aisle as chips. she grabbed two packs of graham crackers, as well a variety pack of chips in case her cousin wanted something savory instead of sweet.

Jordy looked over her basket of snacks as walked over to the customer service desk of cost cutters, she smiled at the clerk while she took out her wallet. Jordy hand over her "ID" and debit card while talking to the clerk.
"Hey I called earlier about a sixth of barrel, I'd like to make the payment for it as well as the rental fee for a tap please."
She watched as the clerk looked back and forth between her and the ID before scanning back of the card, when the scanner beeped the clerk raised his eyebrow at Jordy before grabbing her debit card and swiping it in the card reader. "Alright... Just need your signature. also don't forget we charge a additional fee of twenty dollars if the tap is returned late." Jordy nodded her head and directed the clerk to the Uber in the parking lot, With that task being mentally crossed off of Jordy's list. She skipped on over to the liquor aisle just in time to see Felix slipping a bottle of whiskey into his jacket.

A
fter who knows how long of talking to Messiah, he'd gone home and left Sam alone at the party. She mingled for a while once she got enough alcohol in her system. Talked to people she knew, people she didn't. Danced, stared at the wall for... longer than she'd like to admit. But eventually the buzz of people started to die down, and Sam found herself bored again. Damn... was it really almost 5 in the morning?

She found herself wandering outside, deciding that exploring would keep her entertained. She definitely didn't feel like going home yet. Sam found herself mesmerized by Bentley's pool. Maybe it was magical, or maybe it was just the alcohol in her system, but she wanted to stay outside by it. It seemed like she'd hardly sat down and pulled out her phone when Bentley sat down next to her.

Bentley seemed very familiar to her... but she didn't know why or from where. Yes, he was somewhat popular, but it seemed like there was something else... Whatever. That didn't matter right now. He cracked a joke, and Sam didn't find it funny.
"Do I seem like the type to have a diary?"
She asked, always having been a bit more sassy when she was drunk.
"Even if I was, I don't think this party is diary worthy,"
she shrugged, smirking slightly.

He intrigued her. Partially because he was hot, mostly because she was drunk, and a little because she wanted to know who he was. When he pulled out the cigarettes, she took one from his hand, then pulled a small yellow lighter from her pocket. One she tended to keep on her. Sam lit her cigarette and took a long, slow, drag.
"I'm definitely open to making a change to the night though. I'm not necessarily sure I want to go home alone, or at all,"
she spoke calmly, the words exiting her mouth as if she'd been practicing all night. She moved closer to Bentley, pressing her shoulder ever so slightly against his.

Micah couldn't help but grin when Amy turned and saw him, her eyes lighting up like he was exactly the person she’d been hoping to see. The way her whole demeanor shifted, like he’d just made her night, sent a quiet thrill through him. He kept it cool, though, leaning casually against the counter next to her as if his heart wasn’t doing flips beneath his calm exterior.

“Hey yourself,” he said, raising his voice just enough to be heard over the thumping music. He let his eyes linger on her for a beat, taking in how her eyes sparkled in the low light, her hair framing her face just right. He slid the bottle he was carrying onto the counter with a soft clink. “Brought the good stuff,” he added with a wink, “figured I’d share.”

Amy’s friends seemed to get the hint, easing their way into another conversation just a few feet away, leaving the two of them with a thin veil of privacy amidst the party chaos. Micah turned his attention back to Amy, enjoying the way she looked at him, a mixture of excitement and something else he couldn’t quite put his finger on.

“You want a drink?” he asked, already reaching for a couple of red Solo cups. “Got a little bit of everything, courtesy of my brother.” He was already pouring, his movements smooth and easy, the kind of practiced confidence that came from too many nights just like this.

He glanced up as he poured, catching her eyes again. “What’s your poison?” he asked, his voice a little lower, a little more intimate, even though they were surrounded by people. “I can make you whatever you want—vodka soda, rum and Coke, or something sweet if you’re feeling adventurous.”

Micah handed her a cup, brushing her fingers lightly as he did. It was a small touch, but enough to send a spark through him. He leaned in just a bit closer, the scent of her perfume mixing with the sharp tang of alcohol in the air.

“Here’s to... unexpected wins,” he said with a playful smile, tapping his cup against hers. “On and off the field.”

Caleb’s eyes darkened with a thrill at the challenge in her words, the flicker of mischief in her gaze drawing him in like a moth to a flame. He watched the way she spun her drink, the way she threw back her hair and flashed that dangerous, teasing smile that promised nothing but a wild ride. For a moment, he just let the tension simmer between them, the air crackling with the kind of electric energy that sent shivers down spines. He leaned in, closing the space between them, his voice a low murmur against the pulse of the music. "Careful what you wish for, sweetheart. You might just get more than you bargained for."

With that, he brushed his thumb lightly along her jaw, his touch feather-light, yet enough to send a shiver down her spine. Caleb wasn’t one to back down from a challenge, especially not one as tempting as Olivia. He could see the flicker of hesitation in her eyes, that brief moment of doubt—like she was on the edge of diving into something dangerous but couldn't quite resist. He leaned in even closer, their breaths mingling, his lips just a whisper away from hers. “If it’s a dark room you’re after, I can give you something better,” he murmured, his voice a husky promise. “But let’s start with something simple.”

And with that, he closed the gap, brushing his lips against hers, soft at first, testing the waters. But the taste of her was intoxicating, and he deepened the kiss, letting it turn into something slow and smoldering, his hand slipping to the back of her neck to pull her in just a bit closer. It was the kind of kiss that spoke of promises of the night to come, a taste of the escape they both craved. When he finally pulled back, he didn't go far, his lips still brushing against hers as he spoke. "Now, tell me, Olivia," he whispered, his voice like a slow burn, "did that live up to your expectations? Or should I show you a few more ways to get lost tonight?"

The majority of the game's duration Felix had been zoning out, yet again. He had no connection to this school, so whether they won or lost made no difference. He'd only snap back into reality when Everest would once again go on about yet another new topic, all of which seemed to give birth to numerous tangents. Towards the end of the game even Everest no longer managed to capture Felix's wavering attention. It was a huge relief that the game was finally over. He'd been running on fumes throughout the entire day and his brain was ready to shut off.

Felix could overheard Jordy struggling to reach Everest who suddenly was nowhere to be seen. He seemed to have just evaporated, vanished into thin air. Great, just great. He must have disappeared amongst all the chaos and commotion brought about by the horde of students. Before Felix was able to bail as well, his arm had been secured by Jordy. He didn't really think much of it. Even Jordy's apology only earned a shrug from him. He was too busy dreading the fact that he had agreed to go to a party. He had no recollection of ever "clicking the consent button" but it was happening, nonetheless.

Had the Uber ride to Cost Cutters been any longer Felix would have probably dozed off in the car. After entering the store they momentarily parted ways, and Felix was headed for the liquor aisle while Jordy shopped for snacks. He pulled out his phone to reply to some messages sent by his friends while he simultaneously scanned the store to see where the security cameras where. To be honest, he did feel bad about stealing from the smaller businesses, just not bad enough to stop him from doing it. Not that it was any sort of justification but at least shoplifting wouldn't risk getting the business owner in trouble with the law. Using a fake ID on the other hand was a whole nother story. Either way, he didn't judge those that chose to use fakes.

Just as Felix pocketed a bottle of whiskey Jordy returned from her snack quest. He rolled his eyes when she grabbed the bottle from him, poking fun at him as she did so. Apparently he was being too obvious with his methods of stealing or something equally nonsensical. Sure, Jordy had seen him nicking the bottle but the important thing was that he hadn't been caught by the store staff. "Oh you making fun of my skills, huh?" He scoffed, feigning being offended by the so called accusations. "This isn't my first time, y'know."

After Jordy had paid for everything and they had left the store, it was time to head to the party at... somebody's house. This time Felix was the one holding the car door open for Jordy. He handed her a 50 to cover the cost of the whiskey and the ride. "Btdubs, you totally didn't notice me taking another bottle." He snorted before adding to his confession. "...But I doubt you wanna grab that one..."

The entire ride Felix was downright jonesing for a smoke break. It was all he could think about. When they had finally arrived at the destination, Felix was barely out of the car when he was already lighting up the cigarette hanging between his lips.

Living in a small town always has its pros and cons, cons. Everyone knew each other, so the news spread like wildfire. Alexandra wasn’t surprised that she learned about Mei’s accident and how it involved Byron, Dahlia, and a guy named Tavon even before the first quarter was halfway done. And the pros, it wouldn’t take long until someone else was the talk of the town, and that night with the football team winning and Bentley’s party going all out because of it, it was just a matter of time until everyone moved on from what happened to Mei.

And most likely already didn’t care anymore as everywhere she looked, people were just enjoying themselves. She and Connor arrived together after the game. It was more than necessary to just let go, even if that meant going to the house of his ex-boyfriend. But she could always bet anything that Bentley would be annoying other people that wasn’t her while he was getting drunk. So for once, she thanked her night would be free for him and Connor and she just could enjoy their night without any disturbance.

Alexandra excused herself, saying that she was thirsty, and headed toward the kitchen. She only hoped that Bentley wasn’t all talk like he always had and had at least something decent to drink, but her search was cut short when she felt someone touching her shoulder and using it for the host, because of the noise Alexandra couldn’t make whose voice it belonged to until she turned around to be face with Diamond. Great

Diamond and she were not exactly the closest of friends, especially after her breakup with Bentley. Sure it hadn’t been the usual way to end a relationship, but who could blame her when the guy was a total ass? But by the way Diamond was talking so casually to her, it was pretty obvious she wasn’t aware it was her all along.
“ “No clue. Haven’t seen him since Connor and I arrived. He is probably busy getting drunk while trying to impress a freshman .”
She said.
“I thought you weren’t coming. The message on the cheer group said you had better things to do than be here tonight, but it seemed you changed your plans.”

The music went up a bit. Trey, who was conspicuously wiping the top of the can with a clean handkerchief he had along, winced. Spica said, "You do not mind this, do you?"

"No. It is fine. It was just unexpected."

Dana said, "Trey is going to act in this year's theater production. Did you know that?"

Spica said, "I believe Trey mentioned it to me."

"It is going to be Bedknobs and Broomsticks! Doesn't that sound interesting?"

Spica said, "Now that you mention it, that does indeed. I will plan to be there to watch!"

"That's what I said."

"Then we should certainly go together for that."
