Melissa felt tears come to her eyes as she presses her maid to the wall and stares into her eyes. She didn't know what to do or feel. The girl felt like she did something wrong, but if that was true, why did it feel so good? The mute girl leaned in close and gently pressed her lips against Mika's. If they were caught then it would most likely stain Melissa's reputation even more and disappoint her family, but she didn't care. The kiss felt different from the kiss she shared with Josie. It felt more passionate...more...more romantic.

The girl slowly pulled her mouth away from her maids before leaning her forehead against Mika's forehead. "Forgive me...I love...you...I have to...please my...family..."She whispers and turns her head away to hide her tears. She needed to relax and go back in there and enjoy the evening because it was the first step towards the rest of her life. Melissa took a shaky step back and put a hand to her head before sighing and wiping her eyes.

Elodie felt his hand on her shoulder and relaxed into it, although she still felt on guard. She was reminded that this was nothing but a business transaction between their parents and she should not expect anything. It was a comforting gesture though, one which she appreciated. It was odd, she thought that the man in front of her was the one she was to spend the rest of her life with. Have children with and run a household with. They were strangers. She hoped that they grew to at the very least be friends, but she knew she wouldnt be satisfied with that. She would have to be though. She had no choice, just like him.

She listened as nodded to show her attention as he spoke, genuinely interested in what Vincent is saying "Are you working towards your father's position? Or are you content with your current one? I have never ridden on my own before, so you have one up on me." She teased him. Elodie looked up at him as he explained his family and nodded In sympathy, lifting her hand to rest on his shoulder for a moment "Well, if nothing else this will be something we have in common. As well as being Married off to a stranger."

Elodie nodded "I would adore watching you work, if the man himself allows it." she glanced at the man In question and noted his state on amusement. She gasped in fake surprise, and but a hand to her heart in response to his offer, but her smirk gave her amusement away "Sir! What a scandalous suggestion. Let's do it."

His smile remains, wide and warm as Elodie's hand rests against her heart in fake offense. She was charming, beautiful and had a sense of humor. As far as Vincent was concerned he could have been paired with someone much worse. Lavender might've been the perfect flower to pair them with. In love, the flower represented enchantment, or so he things. He vaguely remembers his sister saying something of the sort while placing it neatly in his front pocket. He's not quite sure that there was a thing such as love at first sight and then again, the flowers were just cheesy symbols to urge the couples into courting each other.

However from a medical standpoint, the lavender held antiseptic properties, used in ointments to treat infections and terrible swelling and in the sense, he could see a future where the young woman treated his infectious attitude towards the commitment of marriage. "I don't have much of a choice but to work towards my father's position, the old man is going to throw in the towel eventually and with business blooming a fresh face is probably needed." He says calmly.

In a friendly gesture he offers his arm to the young lady. "Now, if you allow, let me take you to the man who will provide us with our future drunken stupor." He said in a mockingly fancy voice.

He ushers the young lady towards the two gentlemen speaking to each other, one of them apparently approaching De La Rosa in order to initiate friendly conversation. A good opportunity to familiarise himself with yet another stranger. "Pardon me interrupting your conversation gentlemen, but I noticed that you must've been one part of the combat enthusiastic duo," Vincent says as he stands next to the two men, bringing his hand under his lip as if to mimic the bloodied nose of the shorter-haired male. "Vincent Lafraniére, in case you need any medical assistance with that." He adds before turning to Ezra as well. "And for you, just a friendly hello."

Elijah moved inside with Adalia at his side. He glanced over at the man, who was nursing his wounds with rum. He'd make a point later to introduce himself, he was far impressed by his fighting techniques. Elijah gladly grabbed a glass as he looked at the other people in the ballroom. There was quite a variety and each seemed like pleasant folks. He took a sip before taking a deep breath. The earlier excitement dying down.

At the sound of Adalia's voice, Elijah looked over at her. "You are the first," Elijah said. "Is there anyone you wish to speak to? I would gladly accompany you." He offered. "I do wish to learn more about you, I know we have time, but waiting only makes me more curious." He chuckled. This waiting game had him on edge and he wished to satisfy his curiosity. Women who played "hard to get" never interested him and, despite this waiting, Adalia didn't strike him as that kind of woman.

"Of course I would also like to meet the others." He made a sweeping gesture towards the rest of the room, his eyes following his hand as he thought of questions to ask her. His sister was far better at asking personal questions or simply getting to know someone else. Mary had a way with people that he didn't.

Elodie nodded "So long as you enjoy the work, and you seem to" She smiled back at him, noting his contemplative eyes "And what a handsome fresh face it would be." She said, her voice more observational than flirtatious. She felt more comfortable to tease now. She definitely could be paired with worse she though, thinking back to that poor girl, from before. Even El, from before, she seemed to flirt as easily as breathing. She laced her arm in Vincent's, returning his smile easily. She walked beside him to greet the now two men, laughing as they went "Sir, yes sir!" She teased.

She noticed, as they walked the room was almost full, but there was still not enough people to full the room. Not enough people for the matches to be all present. She did not see a few people she had before, nor the lady who was organising all of this. She wondered if there was to be any dramatic entrances later.

She turned her eyes to the men who she was here to see, ducking into a small curtsey upon reaching them. She addressed the bloosy nosed man and said "Thank you for all of the rum, I shall liberate a bottle, if you do not mind." She let am amused look slip onto her face "and the entertainment, I believe we have to thank you for as well."

Rosie sat for a time by herself. She let herself get lost in her surroundings and her thoughts. There were many people around the ballroom just chatting and getting to know one another. She saw a few matches with stars in their eyes, but so far, since the fight, things seemed pretty calm. She noted the musicians and gave a sad sigh. How she wished to hear their song. Rosie had been lucky she had her father when she lost her hearing. He always made sure she never felt less than just because she couldn't hear. And most of the time, Rosie didn't even think about not being able to hear. It didn't really bother her. But when she went to functions like this, it made her want to know what all was going on. Especially music. That was one thing Rosie was so curious about, music. Sure she could feel the vibrations in her feet if she was close enough, or if it was loud enough. But she couldn't truly enjoy all it had to offer. She watched longingly at the violinist and gave a soft smile. They seemed so lost in their playing. Suddenly Rosie wished she had her sketch book. She could have gotten so many good sketches for paintings had she thought to make Molly bring it. She mentally cursed herself. Next time. There was always next time.

Rosie was taken out of her thoughts upon someone entering the ballroom. She did not recognize this woman. She wore a lovely dark dress that complimented her figure nicely. It must have been made especially for her. Her posture was graceful and her head held high. Rosie appreciated the confidence she held herself with, wondering if she had the same confidence when she walked in the room. Most likely not. Rosie was terrible at hiding her emotions and when she didn't want to be somewhere, it was blatantly obvious. Rosie gaze settled on the face of the woman and she had to do a double take. Where her eyes deceiving her? It was her betrothed! She looked so different from when Rosie had seen her before. Before the fight, she was dressed handsomely in a suit, sword on her hip. Very masculine and still very confident. Now...well now she looked stunningly beautiful. It was amazing what a simple change in outfit could do. It was then that Rosie noticed her approaching the couch in which she was sitting. She quickly smoothed out her skirts, in hopes that she still looked presentable. It had been quite the night since she had first gotten ready.

The tall woman sat down to Rosie's left, and she gave her a warm smile. She did not know her, and they were to be wed, so Rosie wanted to make a good first impression. She introduced herself as Katarina Rathstone, former black sheep. Rosie found that amusing. While she herself had never been ostracized from her family, she did understand the use of humor as a coping mechanism to deal with things that using made one feel uncomfortable or self conscious. Rosie nodded and then introduced herself
"It's a pleasure Miss. Rathstone. My name is Rosaline Adler, heiress to my father's brewery business." She smiled "If you don't mind my saying so, you look stunning in your dress. Not that you didn't look handsome before." She quickly added at the end. Rosie had the feeling that no matter what this woman wore she would be gorgeous either way.

The fight was like nothing he's ever seen before. The skillful dance of two opponents who each can switch around a situation was stunning to say the least. His attention was taken by the two making him forget what he was even here for. As the scene drew to a close Ezra was unsure if he could ever fully put into words how it was. He clapped when the man seemed to notice the spectators, even posing for the few in the crowd. If anything he seems to be getting quiet a good bit of interesting stories to tell later. If one was to tell him before hand that he'd meet interesting people and even witness a fight, well in all honesty he'd be curious and go simple for that. As the man left he saw how the woman went over to the fountain and seemed to be checking over herself.

A whistle drew his attention back to the ballroom and he heeded the call. His gaze setting on the man who was fighting just before who announced that he'd have his own rum to be an option. Deciding this may be the best time to try and see about them he made sure to head over and make his presence known. His face was clearly showing admiration as he spoke up. "May I say that I have not seen such an amazing display before. I was captivated from the when it started to the end. You truly have a skill for fighting," he was about to carry on, forgetting that he practically came up to a stranger without even giving his own name. "I apologize, my enthusiasm got the best of me. Ezra Conray, a pleasure to meet you,"

"I would say I'm more vigilant, but I was the one who fell into the pond." Lucas jested. "If none is available, then perhaps we can sip champagne and enjoy the food." He would ask who this friend was, but he felt that it would make him look jealous, which he wasn't! Well, maybe a little. But he knows he has no need to be, he's known Matthias for less than a day, and it's good that the other has gotten to make a friend. Yet there was a part of him that wished he could've been there.

"Let's find out." Lucas responded, leading Matthias by the hand into the building, making his way to the ballroom, careful now to slip on the puddle that were made by the dripping water from his own clothing. "It appears a man who looks as though he's gotten into a fight of some sort, has now taken control of the party and is giving out, presumably, all the rum they have."

Curiously, he walked over to one of the servers and grabbed two glasses of rum. "Now, I'm not the type to get too intoxicated at events, and I assume you aren't either," Lucas said, returning to Matthias. "But, the man has brought up a lot of rum and I'd feel bad for the workers to have to put all of this back. So," Handing his betrothed a glass, he raised his own up. "Cheers?" While Lucas would never admit it, his appearance back a formal ball with his clothes dripping wet and partially see-through, was definitely an instance where he needed a drink. And since he didn't want to come off as an alcoholic, this was his best excuse.

Breathless Breathless
Matthias smiled as Lucas spoke, he found the man very entertaining, but when Lucas spoke about sipping on champagne if they couldn't find tea he got nervous. Matthias wasn't going to look dumb and say no to his betrothed. He just kept on the smile and nodded. "Ah.. Yes indeed! It is not as good as tea, but the taste is good."

He then felt his heart jump as he was pulled along into the building toward the noise. He wasn't scared, just concerned as to what it would be.

Matthias felt a whole lot better when Lucas explained what he thought was going on,but his eyes widened as the rum was presented to him. He hadn't drank any liquor in his life. He was indeed just eighteen, and his mothers told him he would be a lightweight. All Abbott's handled their liquor poorly.

He just smiled as he looked at Lucas with slight panic in his eyes. He didn't know anything about his drinks, and wasn't sure if this was strong. If he got drunk it would sure be an embarrassing story in the morning.

Although, he wanted to look good in front of Lucas so he tilted his head back, and downed the rum after clicking his glass with Lucas.

It was disgusting. How could one enjoy such a thing? Matthias cringed on the inside, but his Abbott smile shone through.

"Hah, rum is really not tasty if I'm honest, but it's a good distraction. I forgot we are literally soaking wet in the ballroom."

Matthias starts to laugh as he looked at Lucas, and himself. His eyes squinted, and his pearly whites showing. What a funny sight the two were.

Frankie hopped down from his table and began to poor himself a glass. Of the first people to join in on the fiesta, it was a man by the name of Ezra ( NighttimeForest NighttimeForest ). "Thank you, thank you," Frankie bowed. He ran his hand through his hair to keep it together as best he could and held out his hand. "Frankie De La Rosa," he said, "Pleasure to meet you. I sincerely hope you enjoy the rum." Two others who seemed to be a couple joined them immediately ( Lowquta Lowquta StarxLight StarxLight ). He glanced at their matching flowers and raised his glass to them after they asked for a drink. "Feel free! It's yours for the taking, miss," he said to the woman. "And don't you worry, entertainment is what I do," he winked at her before turning to the man to shake his hand. "Frankie De La Rosa," he introduced himself once more to the two of them, "And yes, I would not mind a brief medical inspection, and if my nose happens to be broken, could you do me a favor and just snap it straight? This isn't the first time this has happened, as you can tell, doctor," he said laughing jovially as he pulled up a pair of chairs and drank from his glass. He moved to sit down but caught two more men having a conversation and... did he hear correctly? Rum. Not. Tasty? "But before you do that," he stood up straight. "Would you folks like to follow me for just one moment? I have a little something special for you all," he said.

Frankie smiled and waltzed over to the two gentlemen. "How are you fellows?" he called to them ( Breathless Breathless MToki MToki ). He stopped for a moment to look them both up and down, drenched in water. "Well... I see you two know how to get busy," he joked. Frankie held up his glass and toasted them. "By the way," he looked at the man named Matthias, "Rum is a gift from the god of alcohol. And if you don't believe me, watch this," Frankie slung his arm over the man's shoulder and lead him and everyone else over to the bar.

He took a bottle of De La Rosa rum and an empty glass. Then he leaned over the table and began to pick out different ingredients. "Senor," he said to a waiter, "some sugar please." The waiter nodded and began to rummage throw a drawer. He placed the can of sugar on the bar as Frankie took a lime and began to cut it into four even pieces. "We call this drink, El Angelus, named after a prayer because a drink this good could only come from the heavens, watch while the master creates," he said with an unabashed grin as he squeezed two piece of the lime into the glass. He added a few teaspoons of sugar and then mixed it until the sugar had dissolved. He took some mint leaves and clapped his hands together to break open the scent. After, he dropped it in the glass, added some ice and poured the rum until the glass was full. He cut a third piece of lime down the middle and added it to the glass as garnish. Frankie took the glass and handed it, not to Matthias, but to the gentleman that accompanied him. He winked at him and said, "Why don't you do the honors of giving this man a drink. It's only fitting that he must have been praying to meet a husband like you," Frankie held his smile and looked at Matthias. "And one more thing. Rum is nothing short of magical. Don't forget it," he told him with a smirk. He turned back to everyone else. "You see what makes rum special isn't what it can taste like alone, although I'd say it doesn't too bad itself," he raised his glass for a moment, chuckling, "But what it can be with just a little bit of extra flavor. You could rum is a perfect drink to pair with others," he looked at Vincent and Elodie, "And it's the perfect kind of drink for lovers. Why don't you her how it's done, doctor," his eyebrows jumped up and down in a suggestive manner, "but be sure to take a look at my nose after. I'm going to hold you to your word." He took another sip of his drink. It was then that the first wave of alcohol rushed to his head. He didn't wobble or anything, it wasn't severe. But he did smile at the realization that he was now buzzed. A bottle and half later at that.

He supposed that was the result of offering a bunch of rum to a room full of strangers, it would attract the attention of all attendees. He didn't mind though as it seemed to bring the crowd together, everyone close enough to at least get to know each other a little better. He raised his brow as he watched Frankie make another man a drink, not quite catching all the measurements of the drink but still watching studiously. "Alright, you come back with that pretty nose of yours and we'll have a look." He tells him as he feels a pat on his shoulder, clicking his tongue for a moment as he thinks.

He grabs two glasses, beginning to mimic the drink as best as he could, his eyes focused on the lime as he squeezed the second half into the second glass. "Not so sure about a drink of lovers, alcohol often tends to lead to some pretty bad decisions I'd say...albeit some of the romantic." He speaks, more so in general to both Elodie and Ezra as he continues with the recipe of the drink.

He skips the garnish at the end as he finishes up the cocktail, sliding one glass to both Ezra and Elodie as he raises his brow. "But a drink nonetheless. Although I would suggest that you pair yours with a bite to eat." He continues, the sentence more focused on Elodie this time. "You haven't eaten much, have you? I fret this drink might go to your head quickly if you don't. Not that I mind, but it's still recommended in my humble opinion as a doctor and gentleman of honor." He says, although with a glimmer of teasing humor at the end of his words.

Ezra accepted the handshake with a bit more enthusiastic than he probably should have. After all he was suppose to be proper. "I most certainly will," smiling as he said this a couple came up. He noticed their matching flowers, and they seem to be getting along well. "And a hello back. Ezra Conray," he gave a small bow to the two. It seemed that everyone he met so far has been friendly. He didn't expect Frankie to start heading away though when the man asked if they would follow him, Ezra went right away. He was curious as to what it was and then he noticed his friend with their betrothed were the ones they were moving towards. It seemed they have gotten into somewhere with water, he wondered where. He wouldn't mind jumping in, well he also would more than likely do it when people aren't up and about.

After all the running around to head to the bar and hearing Frankies wonderful speech his attention was then drawn to Vincent who was copying the recipe that was given. He accepted the drink when they kindly slid it over to him and their own betrothed. "Much appreciated. I hope to get to chat with you two more, however I feel I should go see my poor friend," Moving his glass up as he slight bowed his head in thanks he maneuvering his way over to his poor friend though his attention was on their betrothed. He didn't think he'd be nervous for much besides his meeting his own betrothed, but his fingers said otherwise as they tapped on the glass. His free hand moving out to greet the man.

"Ezra Conray. I see you both have gotten acquainted with some form of water. I'd certainly be delighted to know the location of it. Well and now you've gotten to know about rum," he gave a light laugh at the fact his poor friend got simple dragged off like that. Lowering his voice so as to not possible have Frankie overhear "Although Matthias doesn't enjoy alcohol so more for yourself I'd say," he noticed that his friend had a glass in that moment. He looked to him in question.

Elodie was amused by Frankie, and took a bottle from a nearby table, tucking it under her arm, leaning in to whisper "We can share" Into Vincent's ear. She thanked him again, but he was clearly very energetic and she followed the small group to the bar. Elodie smiled through the introductions and followed the Frankie's actions with interest as he made the drinks, laughing in delight as Vincent was challenged to make one for her, although she flushed when they were called lovers "Mmm, lovers might be to heavy handed a word. Though, I'm not sure how much scandal we could create, being engaged and all." she teased Vincent, elbowing him gently. She smiled at Ezra, and although he had been largely silent, he seemed pleasant enough.

She watched him follow the process, with intensity and carry out the act of making a drink with what she knew was precision. She happily accepted it, however. She squared her shoulders a little, but was pleased that he remembered she had not eaten a huge amount. "Thank you" she said, taking a small sip of the drink. God it was strong, but lovely none-the-less. "I believe that would be a good idea. " she admitted, and gestured over to the tables by the food "Doctors Orders, ah well recommendation, after all." She teased back "I'd be happy to fix everyone a plate while you looked at Mister De La Rosa's nose, if those tables are suitable for that purpose." She offered, addressing both Frankie and Vincent

Matthias was conversing with Lucas, when a boisterous man came over and rambled about the joys of rum. Matthias noted that almost everyone here liked rum, and drinking was a way to befriend others.

The more Frankie talked about Rum, Matthias almost believed it was good until he remembered the taste.

Only when his friend Ezra came over did he stop feeling so tense. It brought Matthias to life, he was.more than excited to have the two meet.

"Ezra! How has your night been, my friend? Have you met the one? Can I meet them?" Matthias hugged the man and patted his back. Shaking hands was too formal for friends so he didn't. "Ah, and there is a pond nearby, not too far. I can take you there next time if you please."

Matthias took a step back as Ezra spoke about rum, and Matthias looked at both Ezra, and Lucas.

"Yes, rum isn't my favorite, but trying something new doesn't hurt? "

Matthias played it off really smooth, and set his glass down on the counter, avoiding his friends questioning gaze.

Adalia looked around for a while, she didn't know who to approach , some were in the middle of conversation , and others where with their intended. "hmmm.." Adalia's voiced trailed off before she saw a group of people head towards the man who was all bloody and offered everyone rum. " Let's see all the commotion hmm?" Adalia said.

"Ah! Elodie it's so nice to see you again!" Adalia smiled , seeing that she was doing better made her feel relieved. She saw the man next to her with the same flower and perked up. "Oh! I see you've met your intended. Hello hello! "

She almost didn't notice Matthias in the group as she gasped. It was like she was being reunited with old friends. "Sir Matthias! Its so nice to see you!" She put her hands together with a smile. "I'd like to introduce you both to my intended , Elijah , although I am afraid my introductions will not do him enough justice." she said with a smile on her face.

"Ahh there is so many people here! I hope everyone is having a nice night!." Adalia stated.

Farah was rather late, the blonde beauty had her hair french braided and her lips a soft pink and wore a satin purple dress and she had a wax flower corsage around her left wrist. She had arrived rather late as well and getting ready with the maid's help was a pain and they tightened her corset so tight she had to adjust to this feeling. Then again the corset made her waist skinny and appealing. She slid on some purple slippers and she started down the stairs. She was to marry someone in that crowd of people. They probably didn't appreciate her fashionably late arrival, but nevertheless, she was here and present.

She decided to go over and get a drink thirsty from her trip here. Farah whisked over to one of the bars and grabbed a white wine. She wasn't so keen on marrying but she decided to be a little open to it. She noticed Mathias and Erza and Elodie look over at Erza. She wasn't sure who everyone is she noticed Erza's waxflower in his breast pocket and quietly looked away. It was her soon to be husband, after all, she felt tense and nervous. For one Erza was definitely not ugly! She didn't care about looks but it was always a factor if you felt someone you would have to love was soft at the eyes. She gripping her right hand's slender fingers around the glass. She wasn't exactly the life of any party. She wanted to be an artist but her parents were not keen on that idea.

She noticed another lady walk up to the group near her it appeared most of them already met. She heard some of the names Elodie and Mathias. She was definitely intrigued wondered up she just stayed here she would just eventually find out their names anyhow from the chatter. She picked up her glass and took a sip, it tasted refreshing. She was not a drinker but the nice taste of white wine was pleasing to her taste buds. She closed her blue eyes in thought her lasses fluttering slightly as she set her own drink down. She then opened her blue eyes and did a slight wave to get some attention but not very much. She wasn't looking for people to crowd her.

"That sounds like a wonderful plan, I'll get right to it," He compliments her as suddenly more people joined their little circle of conversation. At first, a young lady approaches, her expression sweet as she greets him. Apparently, a woman Elodie had met before he arrived as she surprisingly, yet happily pointed out the fact that she had found her match. He smiles at her, taking her hand to gently place a kiss at the back of it in a friendly manner. "Hello, hello there as well. Vincent Lafranière. Good to meet you," He says before turning his head back to the young De La Rosa, giving him an almost excited smile.

"Alright my friend, I would suggest you sit down somewhere for me so I can have a look at that nose of yours." He announces as he pats the stool near the bar for Frankie to sit down.

Once the young man was seated, he leans forward to inspect his nose, his hand resting carefully on the side of his face as he tilts his head back to get a better look. "Looks like there is some swelling, not broken though. It would've been quite the spectacle if you broke something on the first day though." He tells him with a comforting smile. "I'll clean that up for you though, and give you my uttermost recommendation to not get yourself into any more fights, for today at least" Vincent teases.

He takes out the lavender in his breast pocket, tucking the flower behind his ear as he pulls out the handkerchief that was resting in the same pocket before shaking the piece of cloth to unfold it fully. "You could hold a class for 100 uses for rum at this point." He speaks as he grabs the bottle he had used for the cocktail earlier, wetting the cloth with the alcohol. His hand is steady on his head as he begins wiping his nose with the cloth, his expression focused as he inspected the skin for any cuts or similar as he wiped the blood off his nose. "You should be good to go, let me know if there's any more swelling and I'll check more thoroughly for fractures." "Sure thing, doc," he said, sitting down at his request. He sat patiently as Vincent inspected his nose and breathed a sigh of relief upon being told it wasn't broken. "This charming fellow doesn't get paid to deal with everything that coming barging at him," he referenced his nose. Frankie nodded at the request for no more fights. "Usually I'm much less battered after a fight but, boy, that woman was something else," he laughed. Frankie nodded once more when Vincent informed him of further check ups and turned to finish his glass. He poured himself another glass and began to drink this as well, much faster, however. The sudden shift in his drinking speed signified something having come to his mind. He wanted to be drunk enough to ask the question, though. Frankie steeled himself as he finished another glass. "Say... doc," he mumbled at him, inspecting the empty glass in his hand. "What kind of life is waiting for someone with a spinal injury.. a severe one assuming they survive?" his tone deepened and his once cheerful attitude disappeared without a trace. Frankie ran a finger around the rim of his glass as he waited for an answer.

Ezra returned the hug back to Matthias as he was quick to answer his friends questions. "So far I'd say I am getting many stories for back home," chuckling at all that's happened so far. "I must try to tell you about the fight later. However sadly I have not met my intended yet and I do fear maybe I have already scared them off," amusement was in his voice as he said this. "When I do I will certainly let you meet them," adding that on a softer note he sipped his own alcoholic beverage to note the taste. He notice that his last jest made his friend look between him and their own betrothed. He got worried. They were avoiding his gaze now, which meant he more than likely said something wrong. He did not want to cause his friend trouble so instead of asking his question he decided to try and go along. "Of course, what is life without trying out new things?"

After that he saw the lady from before. Well the one he saw when he first came into the ballroom. When she greeted Matthias he smiled, he did not want to get in the conversation though he did follow it. Looking to the man she was talking about as he saw the twin flowers he nodded to Elijah in greeting as he didn't want to interrupt the flow of conversation. As he was listening he briefly glance over as he saw a lovely shade of purple from the corner of his eye. Assuming that they were simple there to be apart of the crowd and get to know everyone he didn't put too much thought on it until another movement caught his eye. His gaze fully on the beautiful girl, her attire certainly complimenting her looks as he rather thought it brought out their blue eyes.

He was about to tell her she could most certainly come over and join them as no one could truly be a bother in such a social gathering if they were to join in. He caught sight of the flower that was matching his own. It seemed as if time simple stopped in that moment. His breath was caught in his throat. Blindly reaching for Matthias as he tugged on a sleeve, not truly sure if it was his or not. He let go soon after and straightened up. He couldn't leave his betrothed over without some company and he shouldn't be so weak at this moment. Excusing himself he made his way over to her. "Ah good day.. Night.. " he cleared his throat as he realized he was simple stumbling over his own words, that certainly wasn't a good first impression. "I am Ezra Conray and might I say that the beauty of the morning sky has nothing compared to your eyes," Was that too much for such a quick interaction? He certainly hoped he wasn't ruining his chances.

She noticed that she had got noticed. She wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or not. She knew how to dress for these events but certainly not good at impressing others. She said to herself she would give this a shot so she would. It didn’t take long for the man to walk over.

She noticed how nervous he seemed nervous already around her. She couldn’t blame him. She smiled hearing him. “Good evening, I am Farah Dormshaven.” She said in a smooth soft tone. When she heard his comment about her eyes she couldn’t help but blush and smile wider. “Oh, Sir Conray. You flatter me so with your poetic way with words.

She offered her hand to him. “Why don’t we sit together and get to know one another?” She said sweetly looking at him with her blue eyes calmly she could tell from the way this guy was he had a less arrogant vibe about him she would of expected.

Vincent is caught somewhat off guard by the question, and he kind of feels like his father for a second there, being asked the questions of possible prospects for someone's future. He's been around long enough to figure that the young De La Rosa had someone in mind when he asked the question. "Depends on how severe the injury is, honestly. Although prospects are grim no matter the case." He tells him, figuring that he should be honest with the man. He had tried the route of sugar-coating a diagnosis but he had gotten a long lecture from his father of the consequences of giving out false hope.

"Depends on where in the spine the injury is located, how far along signs of corruptions might be, signs of dysorexy, the lack of will to eat that is," He tells him, explaining the word in an attempt of trying to keep it as light as possible despite the grimness of the subject. "At the end of the day, depending on the severity of their injury, I would suggest that the patient undergoes a series of treatments and eventually it might get better, it might not. Hard to say without getting to take a gander of my own, but I'd say as long as appetite looks good, I wouldn't worry too much about them."

He turns to look at Frankie, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder as he gives him a somewhat pitiful smile. "I do however hope that whoever you're worried about comes out of it soon." He says, his hand squeezing his shoulder in a gesture of comfort before he goes to find his betrothed once more. Once he finds her, he places a careful hand on her back to grab her attention for a second as he leans forward. "How's the food hunt going?"

Frankie didn't say a word. In fact, he didn't even look at Vincent. He only stared at his glass with a deathly intense glare. It was almost as if the blades in his gaze could pierce right through and shatter it altogether. How easy it would to believe that everything would be ok. But Vincent didn't witness what he witnessed.

Then, suddenly, it faded. As if it were a nothing more than a ghost, his grim expression slipped away. Frankie moved to pour himself another glass but stopped. He looked at the bottle, then stood up. He lifted it to his mouth and took a large swig. "Thanks, doc," he said, "I could always trust a the words of an expert." He patted his shoulder firmly and walked away. He looked at his flower and picked it out of his pocket. Then, he placed it in a pot and continued walking, taking another swig of rum. Another wave of alcohol rushed to his head, making his cheeks begin to flush. He was nearly through bottle number two. He sat down at a chair and just kept drinking.

He needed something to do. Something fun. Something like a party. He didn't want to fight, no, he wanted something else. No, he needed something else. Anything. Then, it came to him. His face contorted into a devious grin as he stood up and began walking to his room. He entered the hallway, bumping into a waiter along the way as he finished his bottle. Upon reaching his room, he entered, put on a straw hat, and messily put his pants and shirt back on. He grabbed his pistol with some ammo and left his coat on his bed. He checked himself out in the mirror, but changed absolutely nothing about his untucked shirt that wasn't fully buttoned and pants with a belt that was too loose. He strode back into the ballroom with a cocky grin and an empty bottle of rum, brandishing a fully loaded pistol with a pouch of ammo hanging at his side. Without paying anyone any attention, he walked through the ballroom and back outside to the gardens. He whistled a local song as he gleefully walked over to the courtyard and placed the bottle on the fountain. A waiter spots him and goes wide-eyed with shock as he notices Frankie's pistol. Frankie takes aim at the bottle.

Matthias was conversing with others, and saying hello to a woman he met earlier, Adalia, and now her betrothed. He smiled nicely at the couple, and shook hands with the man, Elijah. "Pleasure to meet you." After greeting his friends, and speaking with Lucas, he looked at Ezra confused as his sleeve was grabbed, but a smirk quickly replaced the confusion as Matthias noticed Ezra's flower, matched with a woman next to the group. "Go get em tiger."

Matthias thought about the man who handed him the drink earlier. From conversation he knew the man's name was Frankie. He felt slightly bad that a drink was made for him but he hadn't even been polite enough to drink it. Eyeing the glass he sighed heavily, tilted his head, and drank the whole thing. The taste was definitely a lot better than plain rum, but he still preferred tea more. He felt like his skin was buzzing, and wasn't quite sure what to do, but as he dazed off a loud 'BANG' went off from outside, and Matthias's spirit left his body.

He stood frozen, was there someone trying to hurt them? He didn't know what to do, so he waited. He looked at Lucas with wide eyes full of panic, but after a few moments of silence, Matthias went to go check out what the ruckus was, despite his better judgement. He didn't even warn Lucas where he was going, just left. After a few moments of walking, the boy was at the door, peaking out. His eyebrows immediately shot up as he could slightly see the man from earlier, Frankie. Not feeling threatened, and already drunk, despite only having two drinks, he walked outside toward Frankie.

"HEY YOU! I uh..GOT REALLY SCARED...and I don't appreciate you MAKING SO MUCH noise! Have some...decency and shhhh." Matthias was slightly slurring, and raising his voice, which was the most unusual sight, if listened closely, one could hear the slight whine his tone had.

Matthias stepped closer to Frankie until he was right in front of him. "Also, your rum...was okay. Better than plain rum. SO THANK YOU, but I am still very CLEARLY upset with you SIR."

It was embarrassing to see Matthias this way, trying to be intimidating, whilst complimenting Frankie.

Farah Dormshaven. He must admit that he was becoming rather fond of the name even with the brief meeting that are having. She seemed to even like what he said. When she offered her hand he eagerly took it into his own. It felt like nothing he has ever felt before. As if his heart was melting in this moment. When she suggest to sit and get to know each other his nervousness came back. While his friend told him before he was interesting he himself was unsure on that. When his thoughts went to himself, he simple saw a rather regular and boring man. "I would like nothing else," as he said this his gaze went to the room, looking over to the couch and deciding that would be the best place.

Even with the thoughts of the other he couldn't help the small voice in the back of his mind telling him that it won't work out. He started to move the two over to the couch as most of his attention was on Farah. "I can't help but seem to want to ask so many questions. Though I do hope you tell me when it is too much, as curious as I am I wouldn't dare think a day could be enough to learn about another," he gave a smile as he said this. "I will however instead like to give some information about myself first simple to get it out of the way in case you may be curious. I am a horologists, or well I deal with making clocks. I have taken over my families business in this by now, which I only have a mother and father. It is a good days work, though in my spare time I have taken to enjoying reading, horseback riding however I will say I am not a master at this, and I tend to enjoy dancing along with some other things I'm sure my brain is neglecting to remember,"

"With that I must ask. What would you like to tell me about yourself? I do not mind if you wish to not be open like a book. After all I feel trust is earned with time. I am fully willing to wait and earn it instead of expecting it so soon," he wanted to show that he was not going to simple drag out everything, in truth he never expects more than a polite answer simple because of the question asked. While he'd be more than glad to ask questions he simple felt for someone he was betrothed to, well he simple had all the time in the world. Why rush something like that in some small talk if the other did not want to do so?

Elijah walked beside her as they approached the group. Each person seemed welcoming, but he'd learned not to judge based on appearance, besides, the man brooding in the background told him plenty about who he was. Adalia seemed rather excited to see the brunette before pointing out a man beside her, he had quite a well groomed mustache. Maybe Elijah should have kept his? Who knew what women truly liked unless they were asked. He tried not to frown at the loss of his mustache. Vincent briefly greeted Adalia before turning back to the fighter.

Before he introduced himself, Adalia saw another person she recognized. At her words, Elijah smiled. "She's too kind," he said with a laugh. "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." He took hold of Matthias hand, returning the gesture. His gaze then rested on a dark haired man, he nodded in greeting, but made no move to engage. Elijah nodded back, a kind smile on this face. There were quite a lot of people gathered together.

He turned his attention back to Elodie and her betrothed, most of the others had already walked off. "How long have you been a doctor?" Elijah asked, it was a fine profession. His father wished to be one when he was a child, but the Ainsley's were goldsmiths and that's what was expected of them, regardless of what they truly wished to do. Their shop had been in the family for decades and passing it down from parent to child was more of a duty than an expectation.

At the sound of a gunshot, Elijah turned to the garden doors. This night had highs and lows, but it appeared as though the festivities were far from over.

She noticed no hesitation when she offered her hand to him. Her hand was smaller than his but the feeling was definitely there as her fair cheeks turned light pink color at the feeling of her hand in his. It was as it time stopped, but of course that wasn’t a reality. Once she noticed his nervousness she got up and gently squeezed his hand.

She noticed him glance at the couch and respond. His reply flattered her it seemed to good to be true though, could it? She sat on the couch near him let go of his hand when she heard if polite response. “I don’t mind.” She listened to him speak putting her hand over one of his.

When he told her He was a clock maker she was curious as well as his hobbies. “Clock making sounds interesting. Do you paint them to?” She asked since she was interested in painting. She then leaned closer. “Your right, I don’t mind you knowing about me. I am not interesting as you may think. I live a life i wish to get away from. It’s suffocating...” she looking down at her hand that was over his. “I should learn to trust you...its just hard. Everyone is so controlling..” she admitted. “I want want to be a painter but my parents don’t want me to...” she said biting her bottom lip then stopped and frowns. “I hope that doesn’t change your kindness toward me.” She said moving her hand back on her lap of her purple skirt.

It was embarrassing to see Matthias this way, trying to be intimidating, whilst complimenting Frankie.

Frankie began to reload his pistol. He pulled a bullet out of the pouch he had and began to load it in the barrel, whistling a happy tune as he did so. Suddenly, Mattias stormed out of the ballroom with a less than please expression on his face. The man yelled at him, cause Frankie only to grin at him with sinister intent. Just in time. "El ron de mi familia... Oh.. Kay?" Frankie let out a thunderous laugh coming from the deepest parts of his chest. "Senor, let me tell you something very quick here," he gripped Matthias' shoulder tightly to keep him in place while he spoke. "El Ron De La Rosa is the best rum, no, el mejor bebida del mundo. It is unchallenged. We built our empire from dirt, and you know what people are doing now? Over en los Estados Unidos, they're digging in every patch of dirt they can get their hands on," Frankie moved in close enough to smell the alcohol in his breath. "You know what you can find in dirt? Oro... gold. My family dug in the dirt and you what we found? Something worth even more than that. The best rum in the world," Frankie shook Matthias aggressively as he began to laugh again. Suddenly he snatched Matthias' glass right out of his hands and downed what remained in his drink. He turned around and threw the glass into the air, swiftly taking aim and-

BANG

The glass exploded and the pieces rained down on the courtyard. "SENOR!" Frankie called one of the waiters. "Bring me empty bottles and full bottles. Matthias and I are going to have some fun," he slowly wrapped his arm around Matthias' shoulder as he watched the waiter reluctantly move to fulfill his request. His grip tightened like a boa constrictor on his prey. "We're gonna fun right, Matthias?" he laughed as he turned to him with devious eyes. "Cause tonight, you're going to learn how to shoot like a man."

Breathless Breathless

Matthias blinked, and squinted as the man rambled about rum, his family, and sometimes spoke in Spanish. Matthias didn't know Spanish, but he knew two words. He flinched as Frankie grabbed, and shook Matthias. Frankie was really a character, and usually Matthias would be slightly nervous, but this was drunk Matthias. He was excited, and slightly nervous. When the gun went off, and Frankie said that he was actually going to put a gun in Matthias's hands, the boy smiled.

Matthias looked toward the very frightened waiter, winking at them. "Y..YoU HEARd the man now please, be a dear, and fetch us the booooze." He looked at Frankie, and his scary eyes, while nervously, but happily saying, "uh....Sí?"

He tried moving out of Frankie's grip by pushing against his side, but to no avail. "Holy mother of god, I need to work out more," He mumbled under his breath. He was getting frustrated being pushed around. He was a strong, big, man, and he was not about to have Mr. Macho bully him around.

"ExCuSe me, ReLeAsE mE You GiAnT."

He coughed, and spoke again, "Uh..haha, please..?"
