The nurse came back and set a pill bottle on his lap.
Eliza was so terrified for him. She didn't know how to help him.
Alexander woke after thirty minutes. "I... I passed out..." He mumbled softly. "Why did I pass out?"
"I don't know." she asked, panicking.
Alexander looked tiredly at Eliza. "I'm so tired." He whispered.
"You can share my bed." She tried to scoot her body over but she couldn't.
"No, I'm going to stay awake." He mumbled. "i love you."
"Sleep Alexander. Please."
"No, I'm fine." He mumbled. He took her hand, still extremely pale.
"You aren't fine."
"Yes i am."
She was too tired to fight anymore and gave in.
Alexander was silent. He had nothing to say.
She held his hand and tears fell down her face. "When will you know if you have to go?"
"By nine tonight." Alexander whispered.
She sighed shakily. "I'll be with you when you find out."
"I don't want to move." Alexander cried.
"I don't want you to either, but they're going to do what's best for you."
Alexander buried his face in his hands and cried.
She played with his hair and sang to him.
Alexander merely sobbed. He was so tired, so upset.
She pulled him close. "Go to sleep Alexander."
Alexander kissed her gently. "Why is my life such a mess?"
"Shh. Don't think about it, just sleep." She sang a lullaby to calm him.
Alexander let himself fall asleep, too tired to stay awake.
