I was thinking about using some sort of reptilian guy, but then that would pretty much defeat the purpose of a crocodilligator, because here whole cool guy factor comes from their long snout and their way of killing their prey by rolling around.

These experiments are supposed to be (mostly) humanish, with some rare cases of freaks. In no instances are they going to be pretty much a human version of an animal.
