A letter from Reasoning
Alyssa Fuere Virgol Elrolim Ren
The inn is beaming with life. Noises overlapping each other made eavesdropping over conversations quite difficult. But she wasn't too surprised at the matter. What she was taken back, was the hygiene in the area. The bar maid that cleaned the table either wasn't really good in making the table clean, or she didn't cared. There are still food chunk in between the wooden gaps of the round table after she left.
She steeled herself together not to think about it. And instead she decided to observe one particular older gentleman that have risen from his seat. He seemed peculiar enough to attract her interest. For one, he doesn't seemed to be a local around here. And maybe she might be right again, is that the old man is not a human. Using deductive reasoning, he might have been a warlock. She have no interested to get to know others today though. For today, her sole purpose is here to check upon the request board of the guild.
"Go and take a look at the notice board, and tell me about the notices." She spoke to the servant girl softly, as Allyssa watched her nod in response, and left for the notice board.
The bar maid arrived with their titbits and drinks in the mean time, making her shifting her gaze back onto the food on the table. Watching the servant girl paying the food reminded her of her status. Mentally noting that she would pay back the girl later, she held the mug with both of her hands, uncommon to the people here, and brought it to her lips. The taste of mead, was new to her, but she preferred wine than it. It wasn't hard to swallow the semi golden liquid, but she was raised a princess, and taking it little sips at a time, seemed much more of her upbringing.
Putting the mug of mead down gently on the table, she reached into her pockets to retrieve a folded square paper sachet. Opening it reveals several black marble like beads, and these are her medication that she would need to take to boost her heart. Picking up one of the beads, she placed it in her mouth and downed it with a sip of mead. Closing the sachet with the remaining beads, she stuffed them back into her pocket again.
"M'lady, there are two requests still on the board. One of it was the dragon egg, and the other is about Emilie."
The servant girl returned and replied to her, before picking up her mead and downing it like the usual people around the inn, large gulps, and rough. Allyssa contemplated her thoughts in the mean time. She knew the request for Emilie's search was because she personally asked her father to issue it. The noble family, seemed disinterested in doing anything about it. And as Emilie was somewhat a niece to her, in a long relations way, she often spend time with her in the palace. The dragon egg seemed to be a recent one, probably posted only a day old, as her servant did not inform her about, when she asked about 2 days ago.
Seeing is believing, she believed, and seeing this meant that she could trust the information chain from her servants and spies. Feeling her mission accomplished, all she have to do now is to finish her mead, the titbits, and then head back home.
