Fandom Guardians of the Galaxy: Next Generation

"NICE TO MEET YOU" ACD-1313 said to the two. He noticed the female's impatience, and looked at her. Before he could say anything Nova Corp officers ran into the ally way guns drawn. "Stop right there!" shouted the lead officer

"Hey!" She stood up quickly. She didn't know why, but now she had to finish what she started. "Don't..take him. Look at him, scared and afraid......"

"Ma'me please don't interfere. You'll only make it worse on yourself." The lead officer interrupted her.

Hatchiin paused. She wasn't sure what to do.

ACD-1313 attempted to draw his pulse cannon but one of the officers fired an EMP shot at the hulking robot disabling all of its systems which cause him to collapse upon the ground they then moved in to secure the robot.

Deck was getting tired of this. All he wanted to do was find some work, and ended up tied up in all this shit. "Distract them, I have a plan." He whispered to the others. Deck sneakily opened up his database once again without the military forces noticing. With some quick hand gestures and movements, he closed the database and walked out in front of Hatchiin and 1313. "Good day, officers! Hello! Uh, don't be alarmed, we are simply on our way to turn this robot in, thank goodness you came! I hope that you can write this down as one, big, misunderstandin- BEAM US UP!" Suddenly, a large blue tractor beam comes down on the 3, quickly raising them up into a medium sized cruiser.

"SEE YOU, SKANKS!" He yelled, the officer's shots being deflected as they reached the inside of the ship and blasted off out of the atmosphere.

"Wha-what the hell?!" She asked quickly after being shoved into a ship. Just another way to be stuck dealing with others. "Are you insane?! We were free to go back to our normal lives without having to deal with each other ever again!"

"Thanks, Roosevelt." Deck said, seemingly to nobody, yet a very well spoken voice came out of the intercom. "Of course, sir." Deck ran over into the front seat, beginning to steer the ship himself.

"You kidding? The only way we could go back to our lives would be to turn this guy in, which wasn't our goal if I remember correctly. Plus, you were wearing that mask, it's not like they know what your face looks like." He said casually. "Then again, it's not like WE know what your face looks like..."

"No you don't! And I'm gonna keep that way. I'm starting to wish I didn't interfere in your little conversation with robo over there." She snapped "I don't care what we just went through, we're not friends of any kind. I don't make friends and I don't like people."

ACD-1313 was still disabled but he could hear the bickering they were doing. He attempted to re-route power but to no avail he would need an outside charge, which he assumed would not come easily to him

"Don't make friends, huh?" He said. Deck yawned as he looked at the star chart for a safe spot to hide out for a while. "Look, we'll head to Knowhere, get the bolt bucket fixed up, and you can take a shuttle on your way and be out of here." He said, mapping the coordinates to the console. "What a strange girl." He thought to himself "I hope all humans in this day and age aren't this unpleasant."

((I need to get going, but I'll be back later tonight!))

She huffed and sat down. "And that's just what I'm gonna do!" She started looking out the windshield.

This is gonna to take a while. She thought. It was true, it was gonna be a while before they got to Knowwhere.

The two sat in silence, watching the stars zoom by as they slowly made their way to the destination. The ship was not capable of hyper speed, so it was an estimated 4 hour travel. Deck looked over to the right at his annoyed companion. "So, uh miss Hatchiin, was it? What year were you born in?" He asked casually, trying to make conversation. Being someone who hadn't typically met a human from what was considered modern times, he often wondered what America and the rest of the world had become while he was gone. "I-Is America still a country? Do people still inhabit Earth at all?" He didn't want to sound too concerned, but he had a lot of questions and this might be the first person with answers in 2 years, unpleasant or not.

"If you want to know how old I am, I'm nineteen. And I was born on Xandar, so I don't really know much about Earth. I really know is that not many from that planet leave. Also mostly humans and earth creatures live there. It was getting a little hard to breathe in her mask. She checked to make sure Deck wasn't looking and she took off the mask to get some fresh air. Her cloths went back to normal and she put held her mask close.

Of course she wasn't born on earth, someone close to his age out in the galaxy wouldn't be born on earth unless under really specific circumstances like his own. "I see, I'm twenty... So you were raised by human parents as well?" Deck looks back over to Hatchiin and sees she's in a much more casual attire, no mask or special gear. Although he was surprised, he didn't bother acting like it.

"What happened to not showing us your face, friend?" He asked, smiling playfully. Before they could say another word, two trays of food were ejected from the side of their seats.

"Dinner is served, sir." Roosevelt announced, even though it was hardly considered dinner. All that was on the trays were bread, an unidentifiable meat, and water.

"Thank you, Roosevelt." Deck takes a bread roll off of the tray and begins munching on it as he flies. You learn to love mediocre ship food when you're on a budget.

"Eh, I couldn't breathe... I would come over there and kick your ass for calling me friend but, I'm not in the mood." She said before munching on some of the bread on her plate.

"Thanks for the food though! I'm starving!....Anyway I wasn't raised by humans, I grew up in a foster home with Xandarian parents. "

She leaned back in her seat and put her right leg over her left.

"You're very welcome." It was the first sign of friendliness from her, which was a nice change of pace. Looking back at the robot who hasn't said a word, he looked back to the motherboard and let out a long breath of air.

"Ever wonder if they think while in sleep mode?" Deck took a swig of water and looked at the console, 3 hours remained until they made it to Knowhere.

"Now that you mention it... I never thought about that before. Maybe they do..."

She lightly kicked the robot. Nothing.

"I hope he doesn't try to kill me for kicking him after he wakes I

up." She said jokingly. Hatchiin had eaten her food quickly before going back to poking at the robot.

After another good half hour of silence, Deck spoke up once again, this time a bit more serious. "Hey, I, uh, really appreciate you saving my ass back there. If it wasn't for you, the bot probably wouldn't have calmed down... And I'm really sorry if I got you involved in all this, but it's worth it to help him out, right?" Deck's face grew red with embarrassment, he often got too sentimental for his own good.

"I guess so." She shrugged. She noticed how red his face was and started laughing. She tried to keep it quiet so Deck didn't know she was laughing at him, but he could probably hear her.

"Uhhhh...So, I guess I should try to socialize. Tell me a bit about youself."

"You ever read up on earth's history? If not, I come from a country called America, a great land where everyone is free. But it's not like I've seen America in the year 2064 or anything, no, I was there in it's prime, all the way back in the 1940s and 50s. It sounds ridiculous, yeah, but I somehow managed to get frozen to stand the test of time and ended up here. So I guess you could say I'm a fish out of water. It was hard, but I feel like I've gotten used to this existence, learning new technology is like learning to draw or play an instrument, it takes practice but you can still master it. Modern fashion and culture, however, are sadly things you have to learn the hard way." He replied, noting her friendly giggles yet not paying them any mind.

"That's actually pretty cool. I mean not only are you from a whole different part of the galaxy but you got to stay young for like, a hundred years!" Her voice sounded like she was actually interested, which she was.

"There's not much to say about myself. If you've ever learned Xandar's history you'd know about the Guardians of the Galaxy. They started off as enemies but later became friends. They would basically protect the galaxy in a unique not-so-legal way. As a kid I wanted to be just like them! Later I learned..." She got up and heald Deck's own gun to his face. "I'm a better thief than I am a hero!"

"A thief? Interesting career choice, but as long as nothing happens between us it shouldn't be a huge deal." He said with a chuckle, eyes on the stars and unaware of what was going on behind him.

"What are you talking about? Do you not see the gun in front of your face?! Geez, when you're focused on something you're REALLY focused on it." She pulled the gun away from him. "So how long until we're at Knowhere?"

Although Deck actually was aware of what was going on behind him, he knew that a good test of character is to play unaware. Because of Hatchiin backing down from the plate, he knew he was able to trust the girl. "Around two more hours on estimate, that's to say if something doesn't go wrong like it usually does." Suddenly, the ship went to a sudden halt and the lights went out.

"Fuck. I jinxed it."

"Sir, the power has went offline sooner than expected because of the use of the tractor beam earlier today. I can transmit the backup charger into the main one, but the process will takes multiple hours. I suggest you and your lady friend go into the sleeping quarters and get some rest, the power will be back up in the morning." Roosevelt said with the little power the ship had left.

He looked over to Hatchiin with a very irritated look on his face. "Come on, then, it's getting pretty late anyways. There's only one queen sized bed, but I'll save you the awkwardness and take the floor."

"Nah, you go ahead and take the bed. I can just crash right here!" She said.

She leaned back in the seat closing her eyes. "Besides, I just got comfy!"
