Fandom Guardians of the Galaxy: Next Generation

Hatchiin was walking around Xandar. It was a nice place to go see. She never really liked other people there but, besides that it was a great place to walk around and see some cool sights.

ACD-1313 walked around aimlessly, though he was fully sentient he knew from his own protocol that there was little he could do or see, being an escaped combat robot. He did very little to hide it though, he stood much taller than any of the other species on Xandar and his charcoal colored armor made him look like a demon. He then reached an open square where he simply stopped and stood to observe the scenery, the kids playing, the businessmen hurrying, even the fountains flowing water drew his attention. All these new sights felt fresh and new to him and it gave him a sense of curiosity.

While Hatchiin was walking around she saw a tall, dark looking....alien? Sh didn't know what or who he was but she know he seemed cool. She didn't bother talking to him. She didn't like to talk to anybody for that matter, she liked to be mostly alone.

Deck sat casually on a bench in Xandar's nature preservation facility, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. Although the atmosphere and feel is not quite the same as the land of the free he was accustomed to, it was still nice. He swipes his hand in front of him, opening up his database online, checking the mercenary listings he put up about a week ago, still no takers. Deck sighs, getting up and closing the database, adjusting the the semi-atomic classic in his holster. Money was getting hard to come by, and if he didn't get some work soon, he'd be on the streets in no time.

As he walked he debated on going to the Atom Exchange, a pub that he had gone to drown his sorrows many times before. He shook his head, dismissing the idea. Getting drunk on even a weekly basis wasn't helping, he had to find an opportunity and act on it.

But what?

Now in the main square, something rather large caught his eye, a robot. Not any old robot mind you, there were thousands of the things walking freely in this day and age, but he looked like a combat robot, one that wasn't typically seen outside of the military force. He swiped and opened the database once again, realizing that this was the same robot wanted for a rather high bounty, as he went rogue. Deck was tempted to capture him right then and there, but he hesitated. He's heard horror stories as to how military robots were treated, so Deck had sympathy for the guy. Quickening his pace, he makes his way over to the robot to get his side of the story before making any more plans of action.

Hatchiin saw the boy walk over to the tall guy. That boy with the blonde hair...he was like her! An actual human. She didn't see humans much, really. She didn't like being human. There were no real perks to it. You don't fit in, you don't have any kind of power, and you're utterly useless as a human.

She looked at her mask. This was all she had to fit in, but she never needed it. She had a ship, that she didn't use much.

Being human sucks... she thought angrily.

"Uh, good day, sir." Deck said nervously, approaching the large and intimidating robot from afar. He makes a circle with his hand, turning the screen of his database to face outwards, the wanted poster clearly shown. "I don't know if you've seen this, but you're kind of wanted by the military..." Deck swipes downwards, the screen disappearing out of thin air. "Look, I like to give the benefit of the doubt, so my money is that you had a good reason for escaping?" The young man was sweating nervously, because the last thing he wanted was to be pummeled to death by a man made of pure metal.

"Oh, right, I... guess I should introduce myself. I'm Deck Ankover.. And you are?" He said, trying really hard to be friendly.

ACD-1313 merely looked down to Deck and stared at him, he used his scanner to analyze the human. Though he saw no signs of intended aggression his observation of the human's weapon made him detail Deck as a threat. Then using his internal computer to research he found the human's profession, Mercenary. His eyes then began to glow bright red. "YOU ARE NOT TAKING ME BACK!" He exclaimed as he grabbed the human by the throat.

Deck gagged as he was raised from the ground. Many civilians gasped and gathered around from a safe distance. "NONONONONO MY FRIEND! I'D JUST LIKE T-TO KNOW MORE!" He gasped. This was not going well. Deck reached for his gun and threw it on the ground, raising his hands in the air. "See? Friend! FRIEND!"

"HOLY SHIT!" Hachiin's yelled . She put on her mask and her outfit completely changed to the one in the picture with her mask on. She kicked the robot. She hit him so hard he crashed into a wall and let go of Deck. "Are you okay?" She asked facing Deck.

ACD-1313 hit the wall with a great thud and shattered most of the concrete. He analyzed the other threat, a young female sporting a high tech combat apparel. He then reached from his suit a large pulse cannon and began unloading at the pair, "LIAR!" he shouted at Deck as the nearby civilians went into a complete flee.

She lifted her hands up slowly. "I want you to listen to me very carefully...Whatever you do don't do anything crazy or hasty. All he asked was to know a little bit more about you. If you put down your weapon, we'll put down ours. Let's not turn this into something it doesn't have to be."

I hope this works...she thought. This was her first real encounter like this, so she didn't know what to expect.

Without thinking, Deck got up, barely dazed. He looked over to the girl who saved him grabbing her by the arm and making a mad dash "DON'T TRY TO REASON WITH HIM, WE NEED TO SKEDADDLE, COME ON!" He yells, using "skedaddle" unironically as if it's common place. Bystanders are shoved out of the way as the two run across the square. Deck pulls out his gun and cocks it, ready to defend himself if needed.

"Listen, I know of a place where we can lay low for a bit, this way." He pulled her even closer behind, making his way into one of the many alleyways in the city.

ACD-1313 knew if he let them escape he would most certainly be discovered and sent back to that lab. He pursued them with great speed trampling all the obstacles in his way. He finally reached the two and began firing stun blasts from his pulse cannon.

"Are you fucking insane?! This is only going to give him more if a reason to kill us you, dumbass!" She said trying to pull away from Deck. As she tried pulling away she kept tripping over her own feet.

ACD-1313 then used his cloak to disappear from sight giving the two the illusion of losing him, as he positioned for an ambush.

"Do what you want, miss, but this is a better outcome than waiting to be killed like sitting ducks!" He shouts frantically, catching her fall when she trips. "I have a lot of experience with this shit, and the times that I tried doing what you did, I got this!" Deck holds up his left hand revealing that 3 of his fingers were robotic. Suddenly he practically tackles Hatchiin to the ground, taking her behind an alleyway dumpster. "Be very, very quiet. He's nearby." Deck whispers, able to sense the robot's presence with his radar.

ACD-1313 stalks the pair watching them corner themselves. He slowly makes his was to the alley an slowly paces through the alley searching diligently. "COME OUT AND YOU RECIEVE MINIMAL HARM! I ONLY WISH TO DISUADE YOU FROM YOUR HUNT OF ME" he said as he continues to look through the allyway

Hatchiin rolled her eyes a little and went along with it. She was in a position where she could get up and fight this guy in case he was messing with her and was trying to kill her or something. She silenced her breath.

Great...she thought. Now I look like the damsel in distress... I didn't need this idiot's help! Now look where we are, and it's all because of this idiot!

ACD-1313 growing tired of this search activated his heartbeat scanner which almost instantaneously detected the two behind the dumpster. If had the ability to smile now would have been the time. He grabbed the dumpster and flung it away as he held his cannon at the pair and playfully said "PEEK-A-BOO""

Deck sighed. Of course the robot could detect heartbeats, he should have taken that into consideration. "Alright, back to reasoning- Hey! Hello! Howdy, Mr... Mr. robot man! Look, we don't want to hurt you. We just want to be on our way at this point! So... uh, if you could, yknow, put the scary arm cannon down, we can uh... we can work this out!" He smiled nervously at the bot, feeling very vulnerable in front of him like this.

Hatchiin smiled behind her mask. The robot was distracted! She grabbed a peice of glass that fell out when the dupster was flung. She slid it behind her, still holding it. "We promise to leave you alone if you do the same."

As he looked down upon the pair he felt a degree of guilt. He had startled the pair and punished them for his problem, he then offered his hand to them. "SORRY, WE GOT OFF TO THE WRONG FOOT, MEATBAGS" he said trying to make his mechanical voice at least appear friendly and he put away his cannon. "I AM ADVANCED COMBAT DROID 1313"

The response from the robot surprised Deck. This guy was not like most robots, he seemed to have more sentience than your typical bot would have. "Well golly! Good to hear, good to hear!" He puts his gun into its holster and shakes the massive metal hand belonging to his new acquaintance. "Nice to meet you, sir! I'm Deck Ankover, and this here is... Girl..." He said awkwardly, never actually learning her name.

She took off her mask. "Hatchiin Deo." She said nothing else. Great! Now there was socializing! She didn't want to be here. It was just dumb, this whole thing. She was afraid at least the human would want to talk and get to know each other. If she ran, the robot might just chase her again. Meaning she was stuck here.
