Realistic or Modern GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story]

Hearing Yvelle, Ali started running back towards the rest of the team. Hang on, I need to get Shaun. Picking up Shaun, Ali swung him over her shoulders, carrying him back to the copters fireman style.

James Smith
Seeing the unfolding events, James knew his chance was at hand. His SCAR's bipod flipped down, and a medium range optic appeared on top of it. He spotted the first important-looking GLASS agent he could and opened fire, putting his sights on them and firing several precise rounds. He saw one stop to pick up a fallen comrade. He put her in his crosshair, then hesitated. After a few split seconds, he decided that this was war, and she was an enemy combatant,. He fired two rounds at Ali's legs, trying to down her and hoping she could be captured.

Marcus whistled, signaling a return. He then hopped down the stairs to the ocean to where Christine was floating in the water. He reached out and pulled her out of the ocean, tilting her head down. "Hey! Does anybody know CPR?!"

Yvelle Eckinger
Yvelle followed Alison in the same fashion, walking side by side when suddenly she heard a locust talking to her. It informed her of the situation with war.

"He's going to WHAT?!"

Of course, the locust wouldn't tell Yvelle that it was a non lethal attack. Yvelle rushed forward and pushed Alison far ahead of herself. "Move! You're about to be-"

SCHK.

The bullets passed through Yvelle's leg and torso, causing her to fall to the ground.
"R....run."

"Yvelle!" Shitshitshitshitshit! Sprinting back to the copters, Ali gave Shaun to one of her teammates and ran back for Yvelle. Don't worry, Yvelle. I'm not leaving. You've served me coffee for too long for me to let you go like that. As Ali picked up Yvelle, she saw the man who shot and hit Yvelle. Glaring, Ali didn't turn her back on the man until she got onto the copter with Yvelle. "Is that everyone?" She panted.

Scrub Squad Theta - Dave
Dave paused when he heard Marcus calling out, looking curiously in that direction. He nonchalantly dropped Leigh, her stone head hitting the ground with an audible clink, and walked off towards him.

Upon arriving, he found Marcus crouching down, with a woman lying facing up, clearly soaked and possibly not breathing. He knew what to do.

"Stand aside, friend."

He knelt down next to Christine, and raised both his fists high in the air, anf then slammed them down onto her chest. This was a special technique he'd learnt to clear a person's lungs of water, and was usually quite spectacular. Unfortunately, Christine actually hadn't breathed in much water, so all he'd really succeeded in doing was making her dribble a little and probably breaking a few ribs.

"Um, not to worry, this is fine."

After this, he performed actual CPR - he was pretty sure sure by this point that her heart was actually still beating, and her lungs were definitely clear now, but hey, the guy had asked for CPR, right? He placed his mouth over hers and blew air in, hard.

Stas nodded to the doc. "So lets say... when we get inside? I need something to eat first, ill make some ramen then meet you" He didnt want to annoy him so he just drove the rest of the way to GLASS offices hopefully without any obstacles. He got out of the SUV and waited for the doc to get out. locking it afterwards. He didnt really know if he should do anything else after that, he was nervous... for alot of reasons. But he is a interogater. He knows tactics and lies people use on others. He knows how to keep his cool.
He walks back into the GLASS building scanning his keycard at the front desk.

Yolya Markov
STONE's "Hospital"

Well, you couldn't really call it a hospital. It was an abounded factory in the abandoned Seaport. A secondary STONE base you can call it. There, medics help the rebels back to their normal state. However, today was different. Some of the patients were GLASS agents. STONE put a drug inside each GLASS agent to keep them unconscious. It was to make sure the GLASS agents don't discover where they are. It was ridiculous some thought. Why should they help the enemy?

Yolya Markov woke up from a harsh nap in an uncomfortable bed. Next to him was an unconscious STONE agent, who was not reading a Bible. Yolya did not have a Bible next to him as well. He realized he wasn't in the homeless shelter.

Then it all came back to him. There was a battle at the docks where there was a smoke storm caused by Cinder. After saving some people, Yolya fired a gun at Cinder to stop the storm and save many lives, but it went right through her. She said a racist remark and knocking him unconscious.

That's what you deserve, thought Yolya. But I had to stop Cinder from killing all those people. He argued with himself. Well you could have used your words, like you said you would. Yes, but would she have listened?

Now Yolya was back at the start. He knew he couldn't convince them to use, and he wasn't even trying! What a disgrace. He insulted himself. And you call yourself Holy.

Yolya just layed there, thinking what was wrong and what was right. He was thinking so much that he fell asleep.

"Jeez, that's hard." Marcus took one look at Christine and frowned. Some thoughts entered his head and left. "Ella! Connor! Are you two alright?!" He sighed as Dave continued CPR.

Suddenly, Christine arched her body backwards and coughed up massive amounts of water onto the cold ground. She awkwardly slumped into Dave's arms and coughed a few more times.
"I'm...not dead, am I?"

Commander Unwin Cardinal
Yvelle Eckinger

Yvelle ended up getting the paramedic treatment she needed, but she was still practically dying inside, from pain of course. "T-Thank...Ali..."

Unwin stared out the window as a ball of smoke flew through the air and hit the blade of the helicopter to his left, causing it to explode violently. Quickly, he landed his helicopter and began to call. "GLASS, please return to any available helicopters. This is an order!"

Scrub Squad Theta - Dave

Dave was moderately relieved to see the woman regain consciousness - like all good first-aiders, he'd messed up his first couple resuscitations, but it was good to see he'd learned from his mistakes. When the woman asked about being dead, he was slightly concerned, though. With all the powers he'd been seeing lately, this was an actual possibility.

He placed his hand over her wrist, feeling for a pulse.

...Nothing.

Maybe she really was--- Oh, nevermind, there it was. A pulse - a little weak, but present.

"No, friend, you are very much alive. You will recover fine, get plenty of rest and let your body heal."

And with that, he dropped her to the ground, stood up, and returned to his squad.

Connor Morton "Booster"

Connor quickly regained consciousness, a feeling he'd gone used to with his powers over the years. Being used to it didn't make it any easier though - the expanded conciousness he'd temporarily received through Cinder had no been replaced be a throbbing headache. Other than that, he was thankully unharmed. He sat up, dusting the ash off of himself.

"All good here... thanks for concern, though."

Alexis Morton "Pura"

Alexis continued to lie on the floor of the docks, entirely unconscious. She apparently been left behind by ger teammates, although it was hardly their fault - she was lying a few meters away from the few remaining STONE members.

"Oh god, thank you for this amazing day. Please continue to bless me with awesome things like this and I'll totally be a believer." Cinder said in mock prayer, the high from the boost still not wearing off. This was the best day ever, even better than the day the squits she keeps all bowed down to her. Cinder saw Connor and the other STONE members, all exhausted and injured. Normally, after what happened, Cinder would be in the same state as them, not today though. It seems like Booster may have alleviated the fatigue she was supposed to feel. He's like a battery, keeping me charged and ready to go.

"Hey! This isn't a spa, you guys can't lie there all day." She said as she hauled Booster up to his feet. She started walking, assisting Booster as they walked. "GLASS operatives may come here any minute. Who knows, maybe some of them survived the bombing and is headed her now. Now stop being bitches and stand up. Just walk it off, you'll be fine." Cinder said, keeping her trademark snark and sarcasm. Usually, she would just let them be and get the hell out of here, but she's in a really good mood today. Lucky them.

"Hey, short stack. Let's be a little more considerate of those who got hit harder. After all, you wouldn't be much better off if this happened to you. You have the body of a nine-year-old child, and I'm starting to think you have the mind of one, too." Marcus sighed and pulled Christine to her feet. "Jesus christ, don't touch me. You're all just so, TOUCHY! Oh, and thanks, Dave." She shuddered as she walked past Marcus and Dave. Christine stopped walking and reached up, poking her ribs. "Why does it feel like my ex-boyfriend and my first experience in bed all over again?" Due to Christine's strong constitution, her ribs weren't broken; just bruised, from the whacking. "Christine, it doesn't matter. Let's just go back underground. Seriously, I hate being out here."

Connor Morton "Booster"

Normally, Connor would haven't have accepted help from anyone, preferring to pull himself together on his own watch. But today, he really felt like he needed it - it'd been a while since he'd exerted himself that much. That, and it was a novelty getting help from Cinder, who was notoriously... well, not helpful. And so he begrudgingly let her help him to his feet, and physically support him for a minute.

Thankfully, his body dealt with the fatigue as well as his training allowed, and so he was quickly able to walk independently again. Standing on his own two feet, he considered his next move. They certainly couldn't stay here, that much was true.

"Cinder and Marcus are right - it's time we disappeared. Nothing good'll come of sticking around this place any longer."

James kept overwatch on the rest of his comrades, ensuring they weren't set upon unexpectedly. However he quickly noticed on off on her own, still unconsious. He was debating going down and rescuing her himself before she was approached by a man in a hoodie. He set his sights on the man and would have fired had the man not turned to face him. Sighing, he leaned into his communicator "Christ Matthias I just almost shot you!"
Matthias Holmes
"Sorry, man." He waved a hand towards James still on the roof. Then, he walked the final few steps to Alexis and bend down, drawing his pistol with one hand and shaking her awake with the other. (Assuming her injuries aren't that bad and she does wake up) "Good morning, I do need to ask which side of this mess you're on." However, then he looked back to James who was still watching him and immediately put the gun away. "Right, right... sorry." He smirked down at her and offered her a hand to help her up.

'Damned poles. Always something someone does to screw me up.' She became a bit more precise, avoiding them to hit her targets. She heard the one who created of the ash storm yell at her for stealing the spotlight. Soon afterwards, a bullet grazed her shoulder and one hit her arm. She could also feel some else combating the storm, and she was to drained to stop them. Even though it was weakening the storm, she kept it up until she was told to retreat. 'Alright captain. Get them out of here. ' she thought when she heard Yvelle call for her. 'Leave.' Was she could think. She kept overriding her own power , until there was no energy in the boat to drain.

Her power exploded back on her, sending her flying several feet from where she once stood. She watched the others clear the area and leave in the helicopters. 'Worth It.' She thought.

'Wait where is Alexis?' Coughing horribly, in which there may have been a little blood, she groan and winced in pain as she stood up. She saw two figures and one on the ground. 'Alexis!' Her eyes darkened. "Step away from my frie--" she coughed again, clutching the arm that had been shot, rocking back and forth on her feet, clearly exhausted. "--or else." She said, weak spark appeared in her hand. She was bleeding pretty bad, defiantly in need of medical attention, but she wouldn't leave Alexis to the hands of STONE. Her face was covered in ash, bleeding also from two or three gashes. She probably broke her shoulder to. It was in interesting sight.

He had thought Alexis was STONE but it was now quite apparent that he had erred. Pulling his pistol, he sprung up and shot at his assailant twice, aiming center mass.

Torith Simms
Location: The Lux Nightclub
Mood: Morose

The nightclub wasn't quite in full swing yet as Torith watched the one of the local DJs prep his set from one of the VIP boxes overlooking the dance floor. After small shake of his head to regain his focus, he continued checking the empty box to make sure it was ready for use. In reality, Torith was killing time while trying to look busy until it was time to do his real job. "I swept the boxes, now I'm going to take a smoke break before they start getting crazy on the floor." Torith readjusted his earpiece after speaking into his radio and headed downstairs to the backstage area's exit to the alley that ran behind The Lux.

The alley's air always seemed muggier than out on the main streets but didn't faze Torith much due to the amount of time he's spent in the alley. He listened for the familiar click of the door locking behind him before taking the paperboard pack of out of his pocket that contained his smokes and lighter. Deciding to smoke a full one instead of the refry that he had from earlier, Torith flicked his lighter a few times before it put out and lit it. After taking the first draft, he leaned against the wall next to the door and let his mind wander.

The image of a chubby cheeked little girl with light mocha skin and warm brown hair filled his thoughts in short order as it normally did when he was alone. This time she was laying on the floor of her bedroom looking through an oversized picture book, unaware of her father leaning in the doorframe watching her flip through the wordless story. Waiting until she was about done with her book, Torith then not so quietly and quite conspicuously crept towards his daughter. "I see you!" Amelia shouted as she whipped around to on her back and pointed at him with a rather smug look on her face as if she was rather proud of herself for doing so. Torith feigned disappointment as he shrugged in resignation, "Oh, dear. I guess you're getting too good for me." This resulted in his daughter trying to comfort him by getting up and wrapping herself around of his legs in an attempt to hug him. "It's ok, daddy. I love you." Torith couldn't help but smile like a fool as she stared up at him with those innocent brown eyes. Torith's past self was about go down on one knee to pick her up when the memory was interrupted by a rather piercing "Tori?"

Torith shook his head a little and took another puff from his cigarette before answering the piercing voice from his earbud that could only belong to the bartender, Darla. "I'm here, what's up?" He wasn't in a great mood to start with and now he was slightly grumpier now that his break was interrupted. "We got a rich chub that decided to throw a fit. You're gonna need to escort him out before it gets nasty." Torith sighed, it was time for him to do his actual job. "Alright. I'll be right there." He took one last inhale before flicking the cherry and throwing the butt into the nearby open dumpster, and then touching his keycard to the pad next to the door to head inside.

She had fallen before he shot, so the bullets flew into empty air hitting the ground behind her. "Let me take her back to HQ, then I will be gone. If you stop shooting I would have a reason to be hostile. I mean look st me I have seen better days. I hardly have enough energy to shock you. " she rolled onto her knees, coughing up a bit more blood. She looked at him, using logic as her reasoning.

It was quite ironic because had that man be her and she be in his postion, she would have killed, even if her enemy was asking for mercy. Then again, she wasn't asking to apare her life, she was asking for him to spare the girl. Her breathing picked up, she was panting from forcing herself not to pass out from fatigue. "Let us go." She said , her body shaking in resistance.

Keeping his pistol trained on her, he got up and walked over to the still unresponsive Alexis. "If I let you leave, you'll both die. You are in no condition to help her back to a facility where she can get sufficient treatment to stabilize her condition. You yourself are losing unsafe amounts of blood. I'd highly recommend you allow yourself to be captured and treated at a STONE facility. Some members of STONE have honor. Those of us who do wil ensure you are treated as prisoners, and respected with the rights afforded to them."

She felt laugher bubbling her throat, a unfamiliar feeling. She spit blood out of mouth. "I been in worse. " she said loud, and very clear. She smirked. "I can get her back , and myself. I just have to rely on energy. "She said, touching the phone in her back pocket. It was broken, but it had energy. She tapped it, and even it couldn't heal her, the enegy rushed help create adrenaline, just enough, allowing her to stand. "Even if I don't make it, I rather take my chances dying out there than being captured here. " she wasn't able to conjure sparks, nor physically fight back, but she could carry the girl and get close enough to headquarters. She knew she could. Or at least hoped. She took off her hoodie, ripping some of it to cover the bullet wounds and tying it to help slow the bleeding. Luckily, her face mask had remained on and only her eyes and hair where visable to the man. "I just watched several people die today, willingly overrided my own power to save everyone, nearly killed my self in the process. I believe I can help a comrade get to HQ. Worse come to worse, I will have to borrow someone's car. " she said, meaning steal, because there would be blood in it ...so she couldn't return it with her blood.

Her eyes followed as the figure appeared. Superior officer. "Like hell if I'm leaving her with you damned-" she took a breath and calmed herself. Anger replaced pain. She looked for the nearest energy source, finding a few lamppost she hadn't drained when the created the storm. She kept her eyes on her predators, twitching her hand as the non visible energy waves flowed to her. She smirked. "Even if she is healthy, we will all be to busy with the rally to deal with you --" she cut her self off. She wanted to call them rats, but what was the point. He sighed. "Have it your way." He raised his arms and copper shot at her from all sides, ripping from steet signs and buildings and wrapping around her wrists and ankles. A large copper rod extended above her, making any loose electricity she tried to cast likely to end up flowing back into her. Two smaller metal walking sticks popped up for James and Matt, grounding them and ensuring any shocks to them would be reputed before doing any critical damage.

Doctor Gareth
Once they arrived at GLASS, Gareth wrapped his hand on the safety bar above the door, and slowly got out, landing with a hard clunk. He slowly followed Stas into the building. "Just don't spill that sodium-filled bile on anything." He said curtly as he turned his separate way the elevator. He stepped inside, and pressed the desired second floor button with a sigh. Before the accident he'd take the stairs, kept him in better shape. But now with these prosthetics it took quite some time even to get out of bed in the morning. Slamming his fist into his thigh in anger, which was where the rubber encased his leg, he cursed under his breath.
The doors finally opened, and the doctor hasilty limped outside, and down the hall. Removing both his keycard, and flash from his brest pocket, he slid the plastic card on the door panel when he arrived at his room. Kicking the door open since his hands were full, probably a little to hard, he stepped inside.
Gareth enjoyed the medical room, though many traumatic accidents and lives were lost due to his hand. With a sigh he removed his overcoat, and blaizer, hanging both on a wooden coat rack by the door. He quickly rolled up his white sleeves to his elbows, and left his two pistols with their holsters strapped to his shoulders, and continued further into the room.
Quickly unlocking the medical cabinet with his fingerprint, he grabbed the usual supplies. Morphine, for those who were severely injured. A few wheelchairs, as well as stretchers. And since the battle was heavily smoke- reliant, a few cans of oxygen paired with breathing masks. Setting them on the other side of the room, and keeping the morphine bottle. He set the clear-liquid on the operating table, and quickly went back into the cabinet for a few syringes. Setting those along with the morphine, he slowly began to fill them.
