Realistic or Modern GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story]

Doctor Gareth
Continuing his work as he listened to Stas, who had a odd response. He wasn't trying to relate injury as a way of being abandoned by GLASS. He alone faced this problem, seeing as everyone was offered up missions, and he only was offered a spot on one if he was standing in the room. "I like routine, and organization. Probably the reason i've stuck around here so long." Wrapping the last tube around the stand, and pushing it near the other, the doctor walked to the operation table and pushed himself up. He placed his hands on both his titanium legs, which made a akward intention in his pants when seated, and continued. "Faking your death would be the easiest I believe Stas. Since i'm the only doctor this joint has I would be the one giving the verdict. I'd just roll you out back instead of the crematory. You could done a badass nickname and pick up your life of crime."

Johnathan Scott
After there rather quick encounter with the dealers and enemy agents, Scott made his way back to his car.Placing the rifle back in its hidden compartments. Getting in the vehicle the agent made his way towards his apartment. It had been given to him by GLASS in their chances he gets for free time. It was rather unfinished with only the bare essentials, kitchen, bathroom, a couch, chair and table along with TV that had seen very little use. Going over to a cupboard, Scott pulled out a bottle of scotch. After a few glasses, he slumped into his chair, his mind glancing over the bland interior of the room, it soon becomes fixed on the large view of the city. How peaceful it looked from up here, how without conflict and tremolo. Deciding he had enough of pondering this maze-like city for one day, Johnathan had a few more glasses of the rich stiff drink before drifting off to sleep.

Awakening the next moring, Johnathan changed into a new suit, this one of a slightly darker grey. Leaving his apartment after a quick breakfast, Johnathan made his way over to GLASS HQ. His routine was to wait until orders were given, with the waiting normally being a training exercise of some sort. arrived arrvied and parked his car. Johntahn took the elevator to one of the training areas of the base. He decided he would focus on basic exercises, start with his basic fighting skills and work out training after all basics are what all else is founded upon.

Everest Verdana (Edmund Tahoma)

Everest was not any better when waking up. It wouldn't matter anyways, he's almost always the same and acts the same every day, at every time. Everest has a pretty fancy room, it was modern and had a bunch of electronics and gadgets of some sort. Most didn't benefit Everest and were given as gifts and seeing that he it would 'offend' someone for throwing it away, he keeps it in his closet, with other necessities and gifts.

Everest took a shower, got dressed, and moved out to his car. His attire consisting of a silver watch, sunglasses and a grey suit. Upon arrival to GLASS HQ, he went straight to the elevator and up to one of the training floors, Everest didn't know how much literal training centers there were but he didn't care, this floor was his favorite because it was the closest to the first floor of the base.

Everest saw another man, working out and it was sort of distracting, but Everest got through it and started working out. Though he has no real reason for it, he decided to start talking with this 'strange' man. "So, what's your name." Everest didn't take the time to turn his head, he had complete focus on his workout.

Stas looks up at him "I always though about it, but i need to go down in combat. So I can just get shot, use a blood clotter, then use a sedative to pass out." He stares at the cieling for a moment "But your a doctor so you might have a better idea. I just need it to be authentic" Stas thinks about a nickname "I dont really have any name ideas, but i did like my 'life of crime'. But i still did do good things occasionally". He looked back down to his boots, stretching his neck. Trying to get the stress off his back.

"It'd be best in a situation similar tonight. Lots of coverage, like smoke or foliage. Noise too, we don't need anyone sniffing you out, since we don't know everyone's skill sets." Looking down at the metal floor, his mind racing into thought. "You'd have to conceal your face when stepping foot in any ounce of the city. Every inch of Hale is covered in them, and facial recognition would pick it up in a heartbeat." Gareth sighed as he removed his glasses, rubbing his eyes. It was getting later in the evening, and though he couldn't be intoxicated, the whiskey did make him a tad drowsy. He'd have to grab a cup of coffe before the adrenaline from doctoring kicked in. He carefully set them beside himself on the table. Right now he probably looked worn, with his hair beginning to fall from the gel, the age lines beginning to show. Never mind that. "I'd have to dive deeper into it, but I believe I can come up with something to temporarily halt your body functions. Frogs in the winter are able to stay underwater for months, as well as bears in hibernation. It'll just take some time."

Runa Senade

She thought she can get the room for herself for the morning, assuming there was a huge mission yesterday, but she was disappointed. Not 15 minutes after she started to practice the basic movement for kicking, a man walked in. Startled, she hid herself behind a huge punching bag. Maybe he will leave after a while. He must be tired from the mission, right? If she wait long enough, he will stop and she can train without anyone judging her.

To her dismay, a second man entered the training area. The man dressed in a similar attire, a formal suit not suitable for training and get sweaty in. She herself was wearing a comfortable judo uniform. Her mother called gi, but she didn't care much about the name. She was thrilled to found herself in the costume people wear when they smash people around. She became even more so when her mother told her she was old enough to start training martial art. Well, she was training until people started to come in. Maybe she should come out and-

"Woah! " She fell. She forgot she was leaning to a punching bag and not a wall. She scrambled quickly to her feet and return to her position behind the punching bag.

"Um... hello."

Alexis Morton "Pura"

Alexis slowly came to, the world around her swimming into vision. Her head was throbbing, the headache overpowering even the pain she was still feeling in her arm. But she was alive. And that alone was a miracle, as far as she was concerned.

But soon other problems came to her attention. Had they won? Although she couldn't quite make it out yet, the area in front of her appeared to be essentially empty, with nobody or nothing of interest. Wait, no - there was one person. Slowly, her vision came back into focus, and she was able to make out a girl standing not too far away. She recognized her as a GLASS agent, although she couldn't remember her name. That was a relief.

But who was behind her? She lay there for a minute, keeping as still possible, simply listening to conversation they were having. It quickly became apparent that they STONE, something that wasn't good for her. Her vision finally came fully back into focus, and she could see that the GLASS girl had been restrained by a set of shaped bits of metal. Yeah, this really wasn't good.

She thought about what she could do for a moment. Thankfully, the STONE members behind her hadn't noticed she was awake yet, something she planned to keep that way. She make brief eye contact with the girl, making sure she was aware that she wasn't alone, then closed her eyes again, concentrating on keeping track of where everyone was standing. Even if her powers had recharged by now, they could still easily physically overpower her. There was nothing to do but wait for the right moment to make a run for it.

Squit "Jennifer Newton" - Squit City

Jennifer looked out over the balcony of her top-storey apartment. Squit City - a utopia for squits everywhere. Less than a year ago, they'd been scurrying around this world with the rest of them, searching desperately for food, dying in stupid, meaningless ways. But now, now they were essentially self-sufficient, free from scavenging off the humans. And more importantly, they'd found a way to break free from the Swarm, by wearing specially designed clothes that blocked the wretched hive-mind from entering their minds. They were now truly individual.

They were, of course, much better for it. Located in an isolated corner of a park, they'd created a safe living space for any squits that found their way here. 1.5 millions squits living in 16 square metres of dense urban landscape, creating a city skyline filled with skyscrapers, some almost 7 centimetres tall. The resulting intelligence boost had proven to be incredibly beneficial, resulting in technology that rivalled the humans. Electricity, cars, army - they had all of it. Soon enough, they had a fully functioning modern society.

Out beyond the city itself were wide open fields, with the sole purpose of growing enough food to feed the entire population, presumably indefinitely. Right from the beginning, it'd worked well - almost too well. Soon enough, they'd attracted their own scavengers - ants, flies, and... spiders. She shuddered involuntarily. Early harvests had been plagued with misfortune as a result. And so, a month or two later, they'd built their great protector. The Wall. A stone wall encircling their entire area, well over a metre tall, capable of keeping out the worse of their fears. Units patrolled the top of it 24/7, keeping an eye out for intruders regardless, dealing with anything that somehow made its way over.

She rubbed her eyes, and walked back in. It was getting late, and this city didn't run itself - not yet, anyway. Time to get some sleep.

[Open for interaction. So... this is essentially the height of squit civilization, where they've actually managed to build a very small-scale replica of a human city, and have mostly stayed hidden from humans through good placement and luck. Still can't communicate with them, though.]

Marcus scoffed at Ella's poor insult at his brain status. "Fine, fine, keep your pet all creepy-like. As if the Squits weren't big enough for you." He waved his hand dismissively and sat down next to Christine, who was sitting on a shipping crate. "Now, Ella, you wanted to know the fancy thing that the ship had in it, right? Well, hate to break it to you but I can't tell you. Not now, at least. We have to wait for your pet to die first." Christine smirked mockingly at the electricity girl (who, might I add, smirked a lot in the past) and lay down on the crate. "Come on, she's a human being! Are we gonna refer to her as a pet? It's not like you can treat everyone like pet-OW!" Marcus yelled as Christine twisted the skin of his elbow. "Bitch!"
"Hush child."
"I hope Chrysler kicks your ass for this!"

At the mention of said "Chrysler", both Marcus and Christine went completely silent. They shot glances at each other, then looked back at those in front of them.

"Who?" He had never heard of this Chrystler fellow before. But that was irrelevant right now. "Tell me." he spoke up. Matthias, however, stepped in front of him. "I've got a better idea. We don't know what this other girl's power is, maybe she has super hearing, if you just whisper it to James. she might be able to hear ya. Therefore," he pointed to a spot around the corner of a building a few yards away "you and I can go back over there, you can tell me, and then I'll come back here and tell it to James in a sort of code we've developed. Then we can go down there and fish it out. Provided, of course, you dont already have it."

James was at a loss for words. He quickly deduced that she was either stupid or mentally disabled. However, he ceased to argue as she was now in a way agreeing with his idea to take his particular quarry alive. She was also right in that GLASS was probably moving. With a flick of his wrist, the copper detached from the ground, enabling it to be lifted. "Let's get a move on." He ordered 2 STONE thugs to take each GLASS prisoner. "Shall we head for the nearest safehouse." He looked to Christine, the only other strike team member who he thought just might still be somewhat sane, to weigh her opinion on the matter.

Marcus felt the static shock and almost dropped the gun, but didn't. He had slightly more endurance than that. "Alright, no air for you." He extended his hand and began to draw the wind from around her head. Closing his fist would make it extremely hard to breathe, but not to the point of killing her.

Christine shook her head.
"Hey, stop it. James is in charge of the prisoners, even though I barely trust the nutcase." Marcus let go of the air sphere before any damage could actually be done. "Look, we're all hungry and tired, the least we can do is feed her before tossing her in a jail cell." Marcus walked off and came back moments later with a wooden bowl of street gruel, one of the nastiest meals that STONE had to offer. Its deathly stench filled the air as Marcus set it in front of the prisoner.

"Oh wow, yeah Marcus, good fucking job. Not only have you got the balls of a 9-year old, you also have the brains of one. Come on, you'll feed her that slop when you guys can't even afford to waste any?" She asked as Ella sat backwards on a chair, her chin leaning on the backrest of the chair. "She's a lrisoner, just give some water. She'll live." She said as she patter the girl's head like a dog, wearing thick rubber gloves this time. "That stuff is really gross and disgusting, it takes like shit after being vomitted. Why don't dome with me instead? I'll feed you stuff much better than this, heck maybr even better than what you're usually eating. Of course you'll be nothing more than my pet doggy that human laws won't apply do, but the perks are better I tell you."

"So, what was the thing we even came to the docks for to take? You didn't really tell us what it was, or maybe you did and I just wasn't paying any attention?" She asked Christine. It better be skmething super awesome, like maybe a huge explosive weapon, or a power-enhancing drug, heck she'd even take a portal gun or a time machine or something. Just not anything boring like a data chip, or a list of something boring, or maybe a keycard to enter another boring place.

She watched silently, watching the members lash at each other before her air shortened. She looked at the guy she shocked, unfazed by his trick. She held her breath and counted in her head. Then oxygen flooded back to her as the woman in charge yelled at him. She released the breath silently, then resumed breathing normally.

Finally after everyone was done arguing over who was good who was bad, they where moving. When two stone agents touched her, her skin shocked them lightly, enough for them to stay close by but not touch as she did her best to walk despite the restrains. She looked at what the man(Marcus) put in front of her. 'I've had worse, but this looks like it will do more harm than good.' She felt a hand pat her head and her power calm down. Kind of like a kitten when it's given affection. She instantly pin pointed the cause. 'Rubber' she yanked away from the girl, feeling her power surge to normal. Anger showed on her face. "Do. Not. Touch. Me. I'm . Not . A . Pet." She said through gritted teeth.

'I'm either going to die of starvation , whatever the hell that food is, or my injuries will eventually kill me. But I'm not allowing myself to die without Alexis getting out of here.' As soon as she thought that, she noted Alexis eyes looked her direction, before closing again. She kept eye contact with crazy bitch lady. [Ella]. The woman in charge mentioned her dying, smirking at her. Ji-Hae smirked back. 'Boo-hoo. I'm so scared.' She kept her thought to herself.

She cleared her throat. She re checked her injuries. A bullet in a not broken, but dislocated left shoulder, a bullet in her right arm. As well as gashes here and there that where still bleeding. Oh, and a splitting headache from power over use and all the idiots around her. "Would one of you be kind enough to pop my left shoulder in place? " she said harshly. She looked for the wall nearest to her. [assuming they are in a base] 'worse come to it, I will pop it back myself. "

Dave bent down, closely examining the unconscious girl for any obvious injuries. As far as he could tell, the worst she had was a massive bruise on her left arm, and her pulse was still healthily strong. So unless she had internal bleeding... there wasn't really anything wrong with her, other than the fact she was passed out. Odd.

Sammie and Leigh came over, and grabbed the girl with both ends, carrying her off to wherever it was they were going. As neither Nat or Camille were really physical capable enough to do so, Dave alone went to deal with zapper-girl. But as he lead her off, he saw no reason to not fulfil her request. He grabbed her upper arm and her shoulder, and pulled hard, yanking it firmly back into position.

"Oh come on. Boo!" Ella said when Christine refused to talk about what they just retrieved. There's also mention of a Chrysler guy, but who cares? He's not as interesting as the thing they just took from the docks.

"Also, you are my new pet, deal with it. You shouldn't have been cocky, making that lousy storm of yours while I was on a roll." Ella said as she continued petting her, mocking her by calling her a good girl and such. "Well, I might also need to make the other my pet. She looks timid and obedient, and I can just punish her in front of you whenever you misbehave. Well, I have to go for now, duty call." Ella said as she planted a kiss on her glove, which is on top of the girl's forehead.

She followed Christine and went away from the prisoners. Ella was positive none of them had any super hearing or telepathy. One has electric powers and the other probably has a force field or durability type power since she managed to get quite far inside Cinder's storm. But oh well, whoever listens to her? "Okay, so what are you going to tell me? Is it about the thing we got?! Can I play with it?!"

After an hour of putting his bones and vessels into place, Yolya got up from his bed. He was tired; out of energy. He needed to return to the homeless shelter. Yolya was heading to the door when a medic came up.

"Are you okay Yolya?" The medic asked.

"I'm fine," replied Yolya, sleepy and tired. "I just need to go home."

"What are we going to do with the GLASS agents?" asked the medic.

Yolya was a bit annoyed when the medic asked the question. Was there no time for rest? "I can drive them near the GLASS HQ and drop them off," said Yolya, a bit aggravated. "I will do it tomorrow."

"Bye," said the medic.

Yolya walked out of the factory, and headed to the docks.

I'm going to let you play with the thing, but please behave when Chrysler gets here, got that? I don't need him thinking my right-hand woman is a child." Christine looked at Ella once again and continued walking deeper into the docks. Once they were a safe distance from everybody else, Christine went over to a crate and raised her hand. With one knock on the wood, the entire crate's top cracked open, revealing a large, silver metallic device similar to a fat telescope. Also inside the box was a man with black hair and glowing green eyes. He had his hand outstretched upwards, with an invisible barrier sitting between him and Christine.

"Oh my gosh thank you so so much Christine!" She said as she briefly hugged the girl. "I'll promise to be a good girl around him." Offering an object she wants in exchange of obedience? She's used to that. That's how her parents get her to do stuff she doesn't want like pretending to e nice and polite when they're having dinner with a potential investor, or going to those charity parties or something her parents holds and behaving like a good girl should. It also helps that Ella respects Christine more than anyone else, since Christine lets her do what she wants.

Yolya Markov
The Docks

Yolya Markov, after walking 10 minutes in the dark night, arrived back at the docks. He was glad it wasn't a smoke storm anymore, but there was still ash everywhere. Bodies layed on the ground, each surrounded by a pool of blood. Crates and vehicles were on fire, and a ship was sinking into the harbour. It was like a scene from a movie, only it was more terrorizing.

Yolya walked around the area and found his two wheelbarrows. They were filled with bodies that he couldn't return to the medics, as he was "kicked out of the park". Yolya checked the pulse of a couple of the people in the wheelbarrows.

There was none.

Yolya noticed that ash filled up the people's wounds. They were all murdered by the smoke storm. Yolya felt the guilt run down his spine and throughout his body. He killed these people when he could have saved them.

Yolya walked away from the guilt machine and found his Bible and staff. The staff was snapped in two and the cover of the Bible was ripped slightly. He picked them up and began to walk to the center of the Docks. At the center, he keeled down and began to pray.

"Lord," he began after he did the sign of the cross. "I am here at a scene of grief. People have died in this spot and I wish you to grant their eternity in heaven, where they could be taken out of the harsh reality of this war." He looked down at the body in front of him and began to cry. "Please help me. I need your help. People are dying because of each other. Each side thinks they're saving Hale, but at the end of this, there won't be any Hale. I pread; give the souls of the dead peace and help me be able to save everyone from death and causing death. I pray to you, Amen."

Yolya got up from kneeling and began to head towards the exit of the docks. He then suddenly noticed a couple of STONE agents in the distance, including Cinder.

Doctor Gareth
"Well that will do just fine then."
Gareth said curtly as he glanced at his watch. "Get going. They'll be arriving sooner or later." Hopping of the operation table, and landing with a CLUNK, he removed both pistols from their holsters and set them beside the sink. Pulling his white lab coat from the coat hanger, rolling its sleeves even with his shirts.

Stas walked out the door, waving away to the doctor "Dont kill someone" He laughed on his way out. The door slamming shut. He walked up to the front door of the office building and signed out. Going back home to his apartment to catch some sleep.

Okay, so as most of you already know, D duegxybus has gone on hiatus, for an unknown length of time. As a result, certain parts of the roleplay have become a bit stuck in ways that are difficult to fix, and certain characters can no longer be directly involved in events. As such, we're going to do a timeskip, through to the next morning. This should hopefully unstick any problematic encounters, as well as giving any new people a good chance to hop on.

Also, as both the "leaders" of the two factions are now unavailable, there's going to have to be some changes on that part (at least on an OOC level). For STONE, CrimsonEclipse CrimsonEclipse 's Cinder is going to be taking control as a result of events described below. For GLASS, ReverseTex ReverseTex 's Dr. Gareth (and technically Jellyon Jellyon , but they haven't been seen for a while) is going to be in effective control, with the guise of acting on orders from 'higher-up'. Actually, if anyone else wants to create a sub-commander character, now would be a good time.

Lastly, there's a couple things I'd ask of everyone:

1. From now on, it'd be very much appreciated if people label at the beginning/end of their posts which location their character is currently in. If people do this for every post, it should help reduce the confusion we've had in the past.

2. If you haven't already, could you please signal in the group conversation if you're still going to be taking part in this RP.

Anyway, here's a brief summary of what's happened during said timeskip:

STONE: While looking for the package they'd been here for all along, Christine and co. stumbled upon her brother Chrysler. For purposes unknown, Christine and Chrysler have now left to perform a highly urgent operation, which hopefully will benefit the organisation in the long run. In the meantime, she has left Cinder in charge of STONE as a whole, as well as giving her the mysterious object they'd received from the shipment -only the two of them are currently aware as to what the device does. The extended group have also taken two GLASS agents prisoner. Currently, the bulk of STONE has retreated to one of its hideouts - a grey, single-story building that is unassuming from the outside, but extends massively underground.

GLASS: Having suffered heavy losses at the docks, GLASS retreated entirely, and chose not to pursue the issue any further, being too unsure about what they're were up against, and what STONE was even doing there to begin with. Many of the surviving agents have now recovered, thanks to advanced technology and abilities, although those who were seriously injured remain under intensive care. Most GLASS agents are now in and around GLASS HQ, a prominent skyscraper with many, many stories, that to the some them, is both home and work.

The time is now 10:00am. Do as you will.

Connor Morton "Booster" - STONE Hideout

Connor groaned as he lofted himself out of his bed. As nice as it was to be in an actual bed for once, with a mattress and pillow and everything, he still didn't exactly feel amazing right now. Yesterday he'd used his powers pretty heavily, something that had left him exhausted - as soon he'd reached the hideout, and found his little room, he'd essentially collapsed onto the bed and not moved again for the night.

Slipping on some clothes, he poked his head out of his door, looking left and right. Not many people were awake yet. He should probably spend some time training... but not today. He really wasn't in the mood. Instead, he slowly made his way over to the larger recreation rooms. Today was a day for resting.

Alexis Morton "Pura" - STONE Hideout Jail Cell #5

Alexis opened her eyes yet again. She'd been out cold for the past several hours, being knocked out by one of the scrubs when they'd realized she'd regained conciousness. The ground beneath her was cold, hard. Typical. They hadn't even bothered to give her anywhere decent to sleep.

She sat up, rubbing her eyes, and scanned her surroundings. Concrete walls, concrete floor, barred metal door... yep, that seemed about right. At least they hadn't killed her. Yet. Getting out was a priority, although she couldn't help but wonder where the other GLASS agent they'd captured had ended up. Perhaps it was better she didn't know.

She went to stand up and pull out her phone to call for help, upon which she discovered two things: One, they'd taken her phone, which in hindsight, she should have expected. Two, her arm was still pretty messed up from yesterday, folding under her weight as she tried to push against it to stand up. This was really not good.

Rani Samson - Squintessa

Rani walked up to her restaurant, somewhat less enthusiastically than the last few days. It'd been open for a week now, but she wasn't getting anywhere near the customer base she'd hoped for. Was it normal? She had no idea, having never tried to run anything like this before. And of course, the premise was a little risky... but that wasn't a bad thing, right? You had to take risks to achieve in this world. She stood and watched as the shutters opened up, revealing the sign she'd had installed:

Squitessa
An Alternative Dessert Cuisine
And just like that, she felt a bit better. Regardless of how well it was doing, this was her creation, something she'd made up by herself. Sure, she'd taken a massive loan to get it up and running, but that was just life, right? She switched the sign on the front door, the word "OPEN" appearing in neon letters. Unfortunately, she didn't really have the money right now to hire any other help, so she was running this place alone for now. Walking into the back service room / kitchen, she took a look around, taking stock of her ingredients.

Squits. Tubes and tubes of them. She grown them herself, of course - who'd want to eat something they'd found on the streets? And it wasn't exactly hard. She just dropped a little bit of sugar and water into each tube every day, and siphoned off the excess squits. Growing plants was harder than this, and nowhere near as tasty. She dipped her finger into one of the tubes, and scooped up a few, and popped them into her mouth. Yep, nice and sweet, just like always.

Ice cream with squit sprinkles, vanilla and squit milkshakes... and of course, the classic bowl o' squits. Looked she had everything she needed, at least enough until the delivery tomorrow. She took her place at the front counter, hoping today would be a better day than the last.
