Realistic or Modern GLASS [A Modern Superhuman Story]

GLASS v. STONE
Location: Shipyards
Yvelle Eckinger
Shaun Starr
"Idiot don't run in blindly!" Yvelle whistled loudly and covered her face from the smoke storm that was brewing. Her eyes widened in shock. 'I've never seen that kind of power...'
A few moments later, several angry squirrels showed up and began to follow Alison, charging toward the girl in the gas mask. Most of them were flung away by the storm but some heavier, fatter ones stood their ground and tried to bite at her.

Shaun pulled out his pistol and began to fire toward the smoke in response to the ash bullets.
"Guys, I don't think we can combat this kind of power without a proper formation-"

SCHK.

An ash bullet cut directly through the top part of Shaun's head, causing his body to fall backward onto the ground in a pool of his own blood.

Marcus Reston
"Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting, Christine. You could've just broken his neck or something but NO, you had to blow up his head!" Marcus pulled a handkerchief from his pocket and began to wipe the blood off of Christine's shirt, which was nothing more than a white (now mostly red) tank riddled with holes. "Thanks for the help, 'mom,' but-" Christine's eyes shifted up from Marcus to the dock. The smoke storm was beautiful, especially to Christine. "That's a damn buttload of power she's using. I like it." Christine stepped back as one of the crates from the dock suddenly went flying in their direction. Simply by raising her hand, and touching the crate, it stopped in mid-air and fell to the deck of the ship. "Christine, does that mean we're on aerial assist?"
"Yup. If any nasty helis show up, we can fuck them over, hard."

"Another text?" Unwin pulled out his phone and replied quickly.

Large brawl taking place at the docks. They'll need backup, Stas and myself are leaving the scene. Bet that pleases you... I'll prepare for any fatalities or injured once arrived.
me
Sending backup helicopters now.
Unwin got into a helicopter by himself, and six others began to take off and head toward the docks.

James had barely any time to react, but react he did. Before the smoke hit him, he called metal from a nearby building to him and it surrounded his head, protecting him from the smoke and concealing his identity. Sighing he yelled "damn it Yolya you were supposed to run!" His voice too changed by his metal visage. Shrugging, he pulled out the SCAR and began accurately popping semi automatic rounds into the nearest GLASS agents

The Skies over Small Pennsylvania

The helicopter with the instructions to blow up the docks was just 5 minutes away. One of the pilots got a message that more helicopters were coming. Maybe to load up GLASS agents to escape the blast, thought one of the pilots. They made the helicopter go slower so the other helicopters can accomplish their mission.

Yolya Markov
He's...um...Somewhere

How can I tell? Yolya was still buried under the smoke. His eyes were still burning. He tired to close them, but it only made the pain worse. He tired to see but he simply couldn't. All the sudden, he heard a voice and then gunshots. Yolya began to crawl towards the noise, hoping it was James. He was even yelling his name.

James Smith
James could see fine due to the metal over his eyes, and he yelled trying to get Yolya to hear him. "Don't worry, I see you! Try to get away, if you can't, get into cover and sit tight! I'll get you out of there once shit settles down!"

Yolya Markov
Wait, I got this.

*flips through papers* Okay...*closing a folder and opening a new one* Hmmmm. Yolya's... *flipping through more papers* ...locati-*papers fall onto the floor* God damnit. Alright fine.

Yolya, wherever he is, was still crawling on the ground. He heard James, but he could not see him. Yolya yelled "Help me, James!" but in return more smoke came into his mouth. He felt like he was on fire. When will this purgatory end?

James Smith
The last GLASS agent in the smoke cloud fell, at least too wounded to keep fighting. James ran over and dragged Yolya out, propping him up against a low wall around the corner. "The others are in some deep shit from what I can see, I gotta go help them." He pulled out his communicator
"Smith to Warehouse Theta, I need an immediate medevac at 21 Dawson street, send a van now."
"Over Smith, inbound."
"Don't worry" he said to Yolya "they'll be here soon. I have to get over to the docks, I'm sorry but I cannot allow others to die." He handed him a pistol. "If GLASS comes back before the van arrives, do what you must to defend yourself. I am sorry," he started towards the docks. "Call if you need anything..." He heard a small explosion coming from the docks "Shit!" He started running towards the docks

(To tired to format)

Ji- Hae watched as chaos erupted, everything was hectic. No order, no plan. Nothing. Sloppy, a failure. She swore deeply under her breath, watching as a few GLASS members went straight to the storm. 'Damit. Are you effing retarded?' Eventually one after another fell, then she realized, Shawn had a major injury. If he wasn't dead now, he had a 14% chance at living. She felt anger build up. Not because it was specifically him. Because she was watching them die and nobody was doing anything to help them.

Her hands flew up, her eyes showing the striking color of lighting. Her own storm cloud came in, and lighting struck the boat and anyone near it repeatedly, about every 40 seconds that passed. If they managed to get on something not metal or water, then they would be blinded in the smoke and now flickering lights. She drained the boats energy slowly, feeding her storm. Electricity surrounded her form. "I've had enough."

She was overloading her own energy, which if it didn't knock her out, kill her. (I won't let her die yet.) anything metal attached to the ground became suddenly unable to be touched without getting shocked. Static built in the air. "Let's play then." A sadistic smirk appeared on her face, as she struggled to keep herself from snapping and losing control and harming other glass members. She made sure they all knew to stay behind her , clear by the storm marking where it ended just over the boat and enemy.

Yolya Markov
The Street Outside the Docks

Yolya was laying there. He was glad to be out of the smoke storm. He began to heal himself, one wound at a time. He started with his eyelids, getting all the ash out of there. Then he did his arm, which was hit by a bullet, and was filled with ash. The same was with his shoulder. After healing his wounds, a van arrived. Out came STONE medics.

"Anyone injured?" They asked Yolya.

Yolya pointed to the smoke cloud. "There are GLASS agents dying in the smoke. If we hurry-"

One of the medics called out in anger, "We don't take GLASS agents! They are our enemy! They will surely kill us!"

"We are killing them by not rescuing them." Yolya replied, a bit angry. "What makes STONE and GLASS so different? They are human beings like us, and the only way we can win this war is if we realize it."

"We will not rescue them, Yolya!" A medric yelled. "Your days of peace in the Lord's hands is over! Come to your senses!"

"Violence killed my family members," Yolya went over to the van and pulled out a mask with goggles. "I will not let the same thing happen to others." Yolya put on the mask and goggles and went into the smoke storm.

James slowly looked up in shock at the Lightning began to come down. Turning a corner, he sighted Ji and realized he was at a particular disadvantage. Reaching out, he caused several street poles in the area to elongate into the sky, fueled by various bits of metal in the area. Most of the lightning struck these are were routed into the ground. Pressing against the corner, he debated attacking Ji or heading forwards towards the larger fight

Alexis Morton "Pura"

Alexis was still reeling from the assault, shooting pain going up her arm. This had all gone horribly, horribly wrong, even by her standards. This storm was brutal - it was taking most of her concentration just to keep her protective field up.

A scream rang through the air, most likely of one the C-ranks who'd been trapped in here. She wanted more than anything to go and help, but she could even tell which direction it had come from. She couldn't even leave the storm now, not knowing which way would take her out, and which would bury her deeper. This was all so, so wrong.

Then, things went from bad to worse. Bolts of lightning started raining down from the sky, zapping various points around the area. One of these bolts came down directly on top of her, striking her protective field. Thankfully, it merely arced around her harmlessly, her powers keeping her safe for now. But even so - she couldn't keep this up forever. With no better options, she chose a direction and started slowly walking forwards, hoping sheer luck would get her out of this.

[ CrimsonEclipse CrimsonEclipse Just so you know, Alexis is currently moving in the general direction of Cinder - something she doesn't know, but Cinder probably does.]

The Smoke Storm

Yolya started to carry GLASS agents out of the storm and placed them next to the medics. "Get to work," he said before going back into the storm. He brought out all the GLASS agents out on the street before heading into the docks itself.

The docks had a lot more bodies laying, both GLASS and STONE. He started putting bodies in two wheelbarrows. The second wheelbarrow was half full when Yolya discovered Shawn. Yolya carried Shawn to the wheelbarrow and placed them in there.

Yolya got more bodies and took the wheelbarrows to the medics, in which half of the medics were actually working on GLASS agents. "At last half of you follow the Lord," he joked, before he took the wheelbarrows back to the docks.

"Oh Lord, bless them for they are stupid!" The power-crazed Cinder shouted, her arms spread with open. Despite the fact that her ash storm only grows stronger and stronger, there are still dumb idiots who still tries to make their way towards her. Bless their poor souls! Oh how Cinder lives these morons since if not for them she wouldn't be this happy slaughtering them.

"Ooh, we have a tough one over here." The villain mumbled, a grin spreading beneath the mask. Despite the others coming to their senses and trying to flee, there was one who was still trying to head to her. Well, whoever it was, it was doing a pretty good job. It must have a power that allows them to resist the ash storm, maybe a forcefield or matter displacement? It could also be taking the form of a matter they touch. Well no matter, Cinder can take care of them.

As she was preparing to torment the brave soul, she suddenly felt an interference. Someone's power is also starting to spread and in a similar manner as hers. "No, no no no no NO!!" The villain shouted once she realized it. "STOP STEALING MY SPOTLIGHT!!!" She screamed as she fired bullets after bullets of ash towards the source of the interference.

Yolya Markov
Deeper in the Storm

As Yolya collected more bodies, two GLASS officers approached him. "Stop GLASS scum!" yelled one of the agents. He tried to fire at Yolya, but Yolya knocked the gun out of his hand with his staff, which then he hit into his stomach. The other GLASS agent was holding a staff, more impressive than his. He hit Yolya, knocking him to the ground. The staff popped out a knife at its top and the GLASS agent tried to stab Yolya. Yolya rolled out of the way and stood up.

The two began stick-fighting. Each one of the GLASS agents swings were blocked by his. The GLASS agent finally managed to make a hit on him by cutting his check open. Yolya screamed as he hit the GLASS agent's' out of his hand. Yolya began beating the agent until he realized what he was doing. He just stood there, making the GLASS agent punch Yolya multiple times, until kicking him to the ground.

Yolya landed next to the other GLASS agent's gun. The GLASS agent picked up his staff and prepared to stab Yolya. Yolya took the gun and shot the agent in the shoulder, knocking him out.

Yolya got up and took the two agents to his wheelbarrows. "What a fight," remarked Yolya, who was glad it was over.

The Center of the
Storm

Yolya finally reached the center of the storm. It was being created by a girl in a mask. Yolya recognise her as Ella Ashton, or Cinder, of STONE.

"How could an organization call themselves good if they approve this?" Yolya remarked. Yolya pulled out the gun from earlier and aimed it at Cinder's shoulder. Then he questioned, "And yet you call this good?" Yolya thought about this decision. Yolya could easily heal Cinder, and she was hurting so many. This seemed like the right thing to do.

"Forgive me Cinder," whispered Yolya. "And forgive me God." Yolya pulled the trigger.

Cinder was busy blasting away at the moron who's trying to outshine her when a figure came into view. She recognized it as someone from STONE, his name was Vulva, Yolga? Fuck, it was Russian so fuck it. "Comrade, nice to see you still kicking." She said in her worst sounding attempt at a Russian accent, clearly trying to provoke a reaction from the man. And what did he do? He pointed a MUTHAFUCKIN gun at her! Oh man, such a moron!

As the bullet was fired, Cinder simply stood there. The bullet passed through harmlessly, doing nothing more than disrupt the smoky image of Cinder. Cinder activated her smoke form as soon as the idiot pointed the gun at her. "Oh wow, didn't know communist spies were still active in America." Cinder said as she flicked her finger. An ash construct formed a giant fist below the Russian moron before uppercutting him hard, hopefully sending the moron somewhere else.

The STONE Shipyards
Unwin Cardinal
Yvelle Eckinger
Moments later, Unwin arrived in a helicopter. He had already issued the command of the other helicopters to retreat, leaving nothing but his and a few others alone. He flicked on the light and sighed at the casualties, as well as the smoke and lightning storms. He turned on the loudspeaker. "Attention. This is your commander speaking. This fighting is pointless. GLASS, please exit the premise. STONE...sayōnara." Unwin closed his eyes and pulled red switch.

Yvelle raised her hands and whistled again. This time, hundreds of flies, bugs, and roaches came to her aid, forming a wall from the smoke and crowd.
"We need to get out of here! Ali, Matilda, Ji-Hae!"

Christine Winters
Marcus Reston
"Clearing the storm. Gosh, this is fun." Marcus exited the ship and pushed his hands out and began to form a reversing column of air to combat the storm that belonged to one of the GLASS members (Ji-Hae). Meanwhile, Christine was surveying and throwing crates from the top of the ship. In the midst of Marcus's stormfighting, she caught a glimpse of Ella with a gun pointed to her shoulder. Suddenly, Christine found herself reaching out for her. "Ella!"

The sound of the gunshot rang through the air, reaching Christine's ears. For a second, the heart-wrenching pain of wondering if she was dead crossed her mind. However, the smoke cleared again to show that she was alright. Christine sighed with relief. However, in the midst of worrying about her comrade lead to Christine missing Unwin's entire announcement.

She looked up and saw a small grenade headed toward the end of the ship near her from a GLASS helicopter. She immediately raised her hands and summoned a telekinetic barrier to block the explosion the best she could-

CRRK-BOOM!

Marcus formed a wind barrier with his hands as soon as the explosion took place. As soon as the smoke cleared, he ran to the edge of the dock. "Holy shit. Christine?!"

Christine Winters
The telekinetic barrier blocked most physical injuries (save for severe cuts to her torso), the entire ship exploded and Christine found herself staring blankly at the surface from under the water. She couldn't bring herself to move, nor could she even feel much of anything. Her eyes slowly closed as she felt herself float about. Thoughts crossed her mind. Did Unwin drop that bomb? Was she going to die here? Hopefully not. Hopefully...just something would happen. Something good. Her power didn't work, and most likely wouldn't for a while...

The Street Outside the Docks

Yolya was sent flying across the docks and landed near the medics, splattering on the road. The medics ran over to Yolya, took off his mask and goggles, and began to operate on him. He was knocked unconscious and losing blood fast. The medics went as fast as they can, when suddenly they were interrupted by a bomb explosion, followed by another, and another.

"You were glad to be kicked out of the park," said one of the medics. "The bombs could target us next. Let's move."

Yolya, the medics, and the unconscious STONE and GLASS agents were put into vans and they drove off.

Above the Docks

The two helicopters pilots finally arrived when they discovered the place was already bombed. "Really?" said one of them. "Alright, let's go back." And their helicopter flew away.

Connor Morton "Booster"

Connor slowly began to struggle more and more to keep up with the immense amount of power Cinder was putting out at this point, almost losing the merger entirely when she unexpectedly switched to her smokey form. The realization of how close he'd essentially come to just dying hit him even harder, throwing even further off focus. Looked like time was almost up.

"You've only got a couple more minutes like this, Cinder!" he shouted out, "So if you wanna do something real big, you'd better do it now!"

He gave her one final rush of power, using up as much of his own as he could without risking an overcharge.

Was it fate or was it dumb luck? It was definitely fate, no, it was destiny. Just right after uppercutting that commie bitch into space, lo and behold, GLASS dropped a bomb on us. It wasn't a metaphorical bomb, but a regular bomb of the exploding kind. Normally, it would mean the demise of the greatest, most bad-ass, and most powerful person to ever exist and ever will exist on this planet we call Earth, but destiny has other plans.

"I AM IMMORTAL!!!" She screamed, her voice containing primal fury as it spread across the docks. She has no idea whether to kill her Russian comrade or to give him a medal, because thanks to him Cinder was still in smoke form when the bomb hit. She survived, no, she denied death! As her eyes turned towards the helicopters, a wicked grin spread once again in her lips. Damnation and ruin is all that awaits.

"I only have a few minutes? I only need one shot." She replied to Booster. Cinder gathered all the smoke and ash that covered the dicks and compressed it into a bullet. What came out was a giant, smoking, burning ball of ash and pure wrath the size of a basketball. "Hey assholes!" She screamed at the retreating choppers. "Tell te Devil I said Hi." She said as she shot it at them.

Cinder didn't even wait to see if it hits thr target. She, without caring, turned around and walked away. "Cool guys don't look at explosions." She said, very satisfied at the one-liner she just said. Her job was done, and it was time to head home.

Doctor Gareth
Gareth's text had gone through quite quickly, probably due to the fact of GLASS's private server, which ran any electronic device. Reading that book took to fucking long. Glancing up at the road, he heard the distant sound of the helicopters. "Unwin and company are bringing backup." He said curtly before turning his head to the passenger window.
This was going to be Hell. Driving a Jeep through a sodden desert, with military-grade helicopters, along with a entire prison worth of soldiers behind. Then for a split second he saw it, the exit they needed. But before anything could happen, the world around him erupted into a fiery inferno, as well as a deafening ringing in his ears...
Blinking rapidly brought him from his flashback, and quickly noticing the copters were as distant as before, probably closer to the docks. "If you don't mind if I bump our meeting up a little, the time I spend preparing the medicine and such should suffice until we have something more concrete."

Alexis Morton "Pura"

This was it. Her powers we're slowly fading, her protective barrier beginning to fade away. She was done for.

But then, she got lucky. For just before her powers ran out, and she collapsed from exhaustion, the ash storm reduced in intensity for a moment. And then it all began coagulating in the middle of the docks, pulling the storm entirely away from her. Not lucid enough to see what happened next, or to even be relieved, her unconscious body fell to the ground.

What a terrible, terrible day.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Connor Morton "Booster"

Connor screamed inwardly as Cinder pulled all the ash from the area together, taking all his focus just to keep himself channeling energy through to her. He was really pushing the limits here... but he could do this. He had to, otherwise this wouldn't end well. And thankfully, he did, the last of his power being used to propel the super-heated ball up into the air. He immediately cut off the merger to Cinder as he did, remaining conscious just long enough to see it through to it's destination. And then, he too fell to the ground, exhausted.

Totally worth it, though.

Scrub Squad Theta

The squad cowered in a shipping container as the storm raged on, being thrown around as the container was knocked all over the place. Leigh had, of course, turned herself into a hefty person-shaped chunk of stone, something the other members really didn't appreciate - it was bad enough in here without the risk of being crushed to death by their own teammate. Nat had gotten off pretty well, too, implanting himself into the wall the entire team, although Camille wasn't in a great place, with both her legs having fallen off. The good news was that they weren't totally in the dark, with Sammie keeping everything lit up with his face.

Eventually, the storm subsided, and they all took a moment to put themselves back together (some literally). Of course, upon opening the doors, they found the entire place one massive wreck, nothing being left where it started. There were only a few people left standing, thankfully all STONE members. They all walked out cautiously, Dave dragging the still stone-formed Leigh along, with Sammie taking the lead, looking out for any immediate danger. Nat, of course, was in the back, with Camille struggling to keep up, her legs on backwards.

Sammie called them to a stop, spotting GLASS agents in the distance. They all looked pretty worn out though, probably from the storm they'd just experienced themselves, so they weren't an immediate threat. Still, it didn't hurt to be ready.

[So... these guys are some semi-disposable NPCs. Just so there aren't literally two STONE members left fighting the rest of GLASS]

The B-B Bombing Team
Over Small Pennsylvania

"Bill, if you'd just let me drop the bomb..."

Bill slapped some sense into Bob, both mentally and physically. "You said we should go slower! We could have been there and dropped the bomb!" Then Bill smiled. "Then we will get upgraded to V! They will call us heroes. 'The B-B Bomb Team blasted away STONE!'" Bill chuckled.

Bob chuckled too. "Yeah, let's do it!"

Bill got angry and slapped Bob. "Well we can't anymore!" Bill calmed down. "At least not right now."

Bob asked Bill, "Can we go to Starbucks?"

Bill told Bob, "No, we need to go back to HQ."

"Please?" Bob pleaded.

Bill sighed and put on a smile. "Alright, for you, old pal."

Squit No. 7295014657 "Brent" - Squit Raiding Squad

There were now several thousand squits in the jar, the sandwich now entirely consumed. Their intelligence had now increased sufficiently that they were able to actually communicate with each other, and they all wanted the same thing - they wanted out.

The lid had proved to be unmovable, even for the few that'd managed to climb over others up to the top. They had plenty of air, but that wasn't the issue. If they stayed in here, they could all starve to death, or worse. They had to find a way out of here, or else. And so some of the smarter squits gathered together, holding counsel in the middle of the jar. The following debates and discussions took place over many minutes, with tempers flaring up and promises broke and harsh truths spoken. But soon, they reached a decision.

A combined effort from all the squits in the jar rocked it back and forth, all of them moving around to shift the weight. And then, just as planned, the jar tipped off its base and fell over, shattering a way out.

...except, it didn't. Instead of breaking, the jar merely fell with a dull thud to the ground, then began rolling uncontrollably away. The squits were thrown up and down as it rolled, churning over each other with no power to stop it. This continued for a few moments, with the jar rolling underneath a table, before eventually coming to a stop, resting against one of the table legs.

Despite their efforts, they were still trapped.
